This professor is one of the few professor, if i had a chance to take over i will change my mind about taking her class again.

Do not take her class unless you like to participate. Also, her tests are horrible. She will ask you to define words that were hardly even discussed in class. Write down EVERY word she says b/c the most obscure words will show up on her tests.

Not a bad professor, be advised though, in order to get a decent grade participation is key in her class. Keep in mind that's for a decent grade. Your choice, just giving you all a heads up.
Expect a lot of work. She assigns a lot of books and readings. Her class is extremely difficult. She will assign 3 papers for each of the authors she covers. She makes you feel very dumb if you don't answer her questions correctly. Don't let appearances fool you, she seems nice, but she really isn't.
She really is very mean. She pretends that she's tryign to be helpful, but disguises her insults as helpful comments. She made me feel like there was soemthign mentally wrong with me. Watch out.

she always has the class in a circle and puts u on the spot..i dislike that.. if i have an answer or comment i know how to raise my hand and answer without being called on and embaressed if i dont know what shes talking about..Her quizzes are hard and papers are long..id never take her again
Bad, bad, bad teacher. She doesnit believe in giving breaks for a 4 1/2 hr class.
When you see her name in the schedule of courses, AVOID IT! At times unreasonable, unappproachable (because she makes you feel like an idiot), is not the least bit helpful, and is a bit high on her self. Runs the English Department and says idear rather than idea.
This class was a complete joke. I did very well on every paper only because I know how to write properly. However if you cannot write good papers on your own DO NOT take this class. She will criticize you beyond belief as what I've seen. She makes you do meaningless blather work that drives a person insane. She also thinks highly above herself.

She is a very tough grader on papers, has you do tremendous amounts of reading like her class is the only class your taking, the quizzes are hard and are every week, she puts the class in a circle every week and calls you out to participate even if you didn't do the read

It's always sad coming across Professors that applies their personal feelings towards their professional life. More so sad that professors of her education level can be so small minded. To sum up what you will be dealing with. "It's my way or the highway" even when her way has allot of room for improvement.
She is so caught up in what she thinks is right, that she leaves no room for improvement on herself. One of the worst teachers I've ever come across. My opinion is she behaves with no respect to any one but herself because she is lacking something in her life. As they say misery loves company. Do not take her.
I had just taken her class for the Summer 08 semester. To sum up, it was not really that bad, there was A LOT of reading! The quizes were easy if you read the book. She is not a tough grader; she is pretty fair. Class participation is a must! She was helpful to make us understand the concept of the class.
Do not take her! She speaks in an extremely condescending tone and has quite an ego. I am a full time student with a full time job, to make a long story short had to drop the class because of her innability to understand a family situation where i had to miss the last class, which by the way, was TWO DAYS after the end date for the semester.
Too much reading, but if you read you pass your quizzes. Shes hard to understand, and not helpful and intimidating. She's kind of cocky and not understanding. IF she gives extra credit...DO IT...youll need it even if you participate and pass your quizzes because with her there is no security with your grade
I really had alot of hope in this class. The class started with 25 students and ended with 12. I never thought it was going to be so tough She is a feminist that only talks about philosophy and her short poems are related to her life issues. She doesnt make you learn besides argue with the fact your asking a question. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
She is usually reserved, which creates this intimidating ambiance. I wish she was a little more helpful with insightful comments, instead of being vague and aloof.
This is the worst professor in all of CSI. Seriously. Consider another professor. It's not worth the torture.
She is penalizes people for being late a minute when she comes in 15min late sometimes. She doesn't send a notice saying she's not coming in. She leaves the classroom 6times a day. She teaches the same thing everyday and you feel like you are learning nothing. DROP HER WHILE YOU CAN! Miserable to class. She also separates you from your friends.

worst professor I've ever taken. She chose to mix teaching the class basic grammar and ten page papers on abstract readings that were very uninteresting to the majority of the class. she didn't give breaks or notify the class when she wasn't going to come. many students chose to drop out and fail than to sit in her 4 hour class again.

Extremely egotistical, and has little regard for opinions other than hers, only component which strikes interesting is the memoirs she mandates us to read. She talks down to us, ADULTS, as if we are children, keep up with reading, or quizzes will be difficult.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS READING ABOUT problematic material that could be triggering. I can't read this kind of work, but no one warned me beforehand and this is the only reading material that she gives. She puts her own words into your papers and is petty with students. Not recommended.

After reading feedback on here I took this professor-Half the class dropped it. She does not explain anything and expects you to know all the prior knowledge that she does. Readings were miserable but not as miserable as this class. I'm an A student and this class is the first I've ever dropped. I wouldn't want my worst enemy in this class. Avoid

Professor Feola is a very intelligent and educated woman. Even though she expects a lot coming from our papers, she is very helpful with feedback. Do not get fooled with other reviews. Many students do not even want to try and learn. It always depends on you and how much you are willing to give. Great educator!

She does grow on you, but the effort needs to be there. You will need to read, and expect quizzes that ask analytical questions about the reading.
If you don't participate, you won't pass!!!!!!!!! its 1/3 of your grade. Also if you don't read, you won't do well on quizzes because they are very specific. she's a clear grader but she tends to shut down students ideas.

Prof. Feola is a solid choice for an English Professor. There is A LOT of reading (assigned books and articles) but that is expected, so please keep up with the reading. Also the films are enjoyable. She is very strict on participation and attendance. Just make sure you show up on time and engage in the class and you'll do fine.
Great professor. She is very heavy on participation, if you do not like to participate then she will force you too. LOTS of readings and papers, attendance is mandatory. You will fail if you dont show up or get a WU. Show up to every class, participate A LOT, get good grades on quizzes and essays you will pass. She helped my participation skills.
Little regard for any opinions but her own. Extremely condescending and can be rude. Seems to not have an understanding bone in her body and will criticize your writing instead of helping you. Also, an unnecessary percentage of your grade is participation alone. Wouldnt recommend taking her to anyone.

I had to do a lot to pass her class. Overall, she's fair but also demanding on participation. But she does care about her students, you just need to talk to her and communicate. Try your best, show you put in effort, and you'll learn and do well.
Professor Feola is a very sweet woman and is so understanding. She is best at communicating and making sure her students are doing what they should be. She is very well respected. We may do a lot of reading and sometimes a quiz but overall a great woman. The class was converted to online and she made it simple and great to work with. TAKE HER!!
I have taken Professor Feola for 2 semesters in 2 different courses. She is a wonderful professor and is extremely knowledgeable on English literature. Dont hesitate to ask her for help. If you show your effort, she will always lend the helping hand. Lots of essays and quizzes so make sure you keep up with your readings!
Take another professor if possible. Does not care about students. Will get nasty if you don't know something. At the beginning of the course she stated that 10 assignments were due either bb discussion or a lecture which was every 2 weeks. class was asynchronous but had set times for a lecture.

Please be aware, she is so old, doesn't know how to work bb, is nasty. She is rude and entitled. Tough grader, changes the syllabus so many times. You have to check bb every 5 mins to keep up. She will call you out in front of the whole zoom class.
So beginning of the semester she gave work maybe every other week. Last 3 weeks of school she gave us a 7 page paper and 3-4 discussion board that were about 350-450 words plus a lot of readings. She's not organized at all she's the worst !!! DONT TAKE HER

I loved this class. While doing online for this course and having to ready multiple books and watch movies was quite frustrating online, she really kept us engaged in the zoom meetings. Participation helps a lot even if youre unsure of what to say, say something. Shes always available to answer any questions or concerns. Prob fav class Ive taken

Ignore the bad ratings on here. I can just tell immediately it's from people that were lazy and entitled. College is work - can't believe that's unclear. I took her for Early Brit & American Traditions, a class I thought would be tough and perhaps and little boring. It wasn't. She's great & the books I read in that class have stayed with me.

Do NOT take this professor for SLS 302. She is extremely disorganized, and her directions are very confusing. She is very hard to reach throughout the week. She is extremely rude if you ask for help. She will keep referring you back to the same confusing syllabus and refuses to help you with your questions or concerns. She crams a lot of work in.

The class is pretty challenging, but if you stay engaged and use tools like Unstuck ai alongside the textbook, you can do well. The professor is strict but fair - just be ready to put in the work.
