a very boring teacher....not the hardest but still a sleeper.
the best ever
No Comments
a great teacher. asks alot of the student, but very informative and knowledgable on her subjects. take her classes if you like a challenge.
Great teacher, i loved the class, she expects alot of hwr students, if you don't mind doing work then shes a great teacher if ur lazy i wouldn't take the class
enjoyable class. quite easy. no tests just midterm final and 2 projects
Alright class. not too much work, just a midterm, final, a paper and a project easy not hard.
If you have other classes, don't take this one! The work she gives you will not allow you to keep up in other classes and the oral project will keep you very busy. Take this class if it's the only one your enrolled in for a semester.
WAY TOO MUCH WORK FOR A 3 CREDIT CLASS, DIFFICULT ORAL REPORT DUE WITH POWERPOINT IN FRONT OF CLASS, PLUS WRITTEN HWK, PLUS ANALYTICAL PAPER,PLUS MIDTERM AND FINAL. DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW HER LECTURES
enjoyed the class. got an A. no work just 2 tests, easy town slide show and a jungle paper (which is kinda a pain but i didnt read it and still go in the high 80s. Gives plenty of extra credit. alright lectures. intresting. absent alot.
dont take this class if youre an illiterate idiot. prof anderson is a great teacher who knows the material and offers great insight into whatever lesson she is teaching. take the class if you love history! dont let the amount of work in this class scare you, shes a fair grader w/ lots of extra cred
OH..MY..GOD!CAN A MIDTERM EXAM BE ANY MORE DIFFICULT! HAVE TO DO EXTRA CREDIT IN ORDER TO DO WELL.
She can't teach, she forgets everything, she won't give you your grades for a long time, she doesn't answer her e-mails, and has 1,000 excuses. Her lectures are based on her opinion of the events. It is a waste!
SHE IS SO BORING AS A TEACHER,SHE EXPECTS SO MUCH FROM STUDENTS, YOU HAVE TO BE A COMPUTER WHIZ/GENIUS TO DO POWERPOINT PRESENTATION FOR ORAL REPORT WHICH STILL DOES NOT HAVE A DUE DATE,FINAL WILL PROBABLY BE IMPOSSIBLE!
She was VERY nice...but she gave a lot of work. If you can't keep up with non basic college work, don't take her course. If you can, take it because she really is nice and she will go out of her way to help you.
She comes on strong, but is actually easy going.doesn't mark absence or lateness, work is pretty challenging, requires time and effort, but she is a fair grader, if you do the assigned work.
shes a nice teacher....tries to come off tough a lil but mostly very nice, interesting lectures...but she tries to act a lil as if its an online course...she should print all the papers we need for projects out so its easier, just like every teacher i've ever had...shes easy on latness so thats good
Easy! She assigned a book that was in shrink wrap that I never opened or read and i got an A in the class. She asigned us to read the jungle and I read the cliff notes. She is such a stickler for time it's ridiculous. If she was having a fatal heartattack she wouldn't let the class out early.
Very helpful, very interesting and caring. Just do your work and you'll get a great grade guaranteed.
OK i don't know wtf these other people are saying about her class being hard...YES the lectures sucked and were boring but the work wasn't too bad and honestly i did nothing all semester besides sleep and copy work and i expected to get a D or F and i got an A. she comes on strong and seems like a really hard grader but is really really easy.
I took an online course, and found Dr. Anderson to be unorganized and inaccessible for a great deal of the time. I did very well in the course, but it was a frustrating struggle for me to get through the course.
Very educated teacher who is able to answer just about any question.
she is good and very helpful but you have to do alot of stuffs. but if u do whatever she ask u to do u will be fine
Lovely lady, good teacher, do your work and you'll do fine
A well-rounded person and professor :)
Had to do a lot of work, but got it all done and got a good grade.
One of the best teachers I ever had. Intelligent and great sense of humor. Learning about Ireland was great.
If you do the work and ask questions and give your opinion, she is very fair. Likes participation. Very helpful, when you don't understand. Fair grading, do your work well = good grade.
She's smart and a good teacher but she's kind of unorganized. Gives the same lectures 2 days in a row from time to time and gives too much work that she never hands back.
Hah. This class is a joke. She repeats herself constantly and asks way more of the students than she is willing to give (which isn't much, she's constantly late and unprepared) and is just a lousy teacher.
anderson seems hard at the beginning, but she's not, she's a great teacher
She's a good teacher. Alot of work but good class.
The Best professor
Wooooooooo i love this classssssss
great teacher.. very fair and willing to adapt to individual student's needs.. open to classroom discussions
this professor ROCKSSSSSSSSSS
She's completely clueless. She starts the class by asking us which class this is. Comes in 5 minutes late and than says she has to go get her lecture notes, which i don't mind cause it's less time i have to listen to her talk. She never explains what she wants on your projects or her "note cards". Whoever wrote below this is in denial.
This woman is a total mess. She walks into her 1:00 class at about 1:20 everyday and the first words out of her mouth are always just sit here quietly I have to go get my lecture notes. Ironically these are the only words that dont make me want to jump out of the classroom window. Very boring.
I TOOK HISTORY 103 ON-LINE GREAT CLASS LOTS OF WORK, BUT IF YOU DO THE WORK YOU GET A GOOD GRADE... BOTTOM LINE JUST DO THE WORK, LOVELY WOMAN, VERY SMART AND VERY STRAIGHT FOWARD.REMEMBER PEOPLE THIS IS COLLEGE NOT HIGH SCHOOL. SO YOU WILL NOT BE BABIED HERE... JUST DO THE WORK AND YOU WILL DO WELL... JD
Knows her stuff, love her stories.
she is hard to get a hold of for a teacher that gives a lot of work that sparks questions. she seems alittle out of sorts in a classroom. very smart and a nice lady but maybe she should be writing books not trying to teach.
She is a wonderful professor, no tests, just interesting papers that let you use your imagination. She is very understand, but she is very busy so she seems frazzled alot! I recommend her!
Not a good course. Unresponsive to e-mails, asked us to complete two written essays, which I did, then told the class only had to do one. Did not reply to questions during the semester.
She is demanding in that she expects you to put the full time and effort into the class, but the work itself is not hard. Like said below, she does not want High School students, she is trying to prepare her students for eventual grad school work I think. She is a very understanding person and has a great personality. Great teacher.
Im taking her His 104 online class. Shes very hard to understand, she will tell you one thing and then change it and give you a bad grade saying that you didnt read the directions. If you ask her a question she'll tell you to read directions on the syllabus even though it says 2 different things. DONT TAKE HER CLASS
This class was a joke.
WAAAAAYYYYY TOO MUCH work for an online class!!! Lots of papers, essays, and WEEKLY assignments!!! I learned a lot, but the work is so burdensome to my scedule! If this was my only class, I would be satisfied... but the fact that I AM taking online courses... indicates time is not something i have a lot of! Great content... but she's very demanding
Best Professor I ever had, she gives a lot of papers, no tests, power-point at the end, and I got a A, very understanding, and knows her stuff !!!
Prof Anderson is such a nice lady. Her class was a lot of fun. There is a decent work load but its definitely doable. No tests, but about one (one pg) reflection paper a week. She makes the class interesting. The only downside is that she is slightly unorganized... but her personality makes up for it.
Disease adn d western society. One of the best courses I've taken at NCC. Dr. Anderson knows her stuff and cares for her students. she keeps telling us how to become better college student s. Isn't that why we at NCC?
One of the most pointless classes ever! She read from her textbook all class, and forgot everything. She made no sense with anything she said. Her grades were totally unfair. Some paper I'd get a C, and another I'd get an A with the same amount of work in both. Please never take her!
shes awesome. explains everything so that a monkey could understand it, and theres no tests, only a easy reaction paper, and a power point at the end of the semester
she seems ok but its only the second week and i send her about 100 emails asking specific questions and she answers AFTER the due date. ugh i suggest not taking her online
She can be a bit frazzled and forgetful. You must go above and beyond, completely exceeding her expectations to get a good grade. She's very passionate about the subject though and loves when students express interest as well.
She is a rude mean teacher.I will never take her class again.
She is a horrible teacher. So unclear! She never answers her emails. Do not take her! Especially online.....
We used the Pearson lab for this online class. Once she assigned the work through the website, I never heard from her again. The class easy, just do the work.
Mean, self centered, poor excuse for a teacher and a human being. Cares less about her students, never responds to e-mails and accuses students of all types of cheating. Has no grasp of technology and blames her shortcomings on the students. Stay very far away from any of her courses.
She's fair.Do the assigned work. That simple
A lot of work and def no cutting corners. Her syllabus is confusing - very hard to get a hold of her. If you can get another professor - please avoid.
she is too muchhhh omgggg soo much work to do and its so hard u cant even find the question on internet not even book dont even think about the take her classes especially onlineeeeee i am so seriousss she made me crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
There are assignments due every day which are about 2 pages of reading and 4 or so questions, but it's a lot to do every single week. She gives no feedback about her essay grades and ignored my email asking for tips to improve even though she answered other student's questions. Useless as a professor but if you do all the work you'll pass.
I'm sure she a smart women but as a teacher, Just a mess. Unorganized and forgetful. makes you buy textbooks you'll never use. Can be mean at times. Will not learn much from the course since the notes and assignments are all over the place. I do not recommend.
I took her online class for a history credit. The course wasn't bad. It's literally reading the textbook and then doing tests off it. There were three papers, and one bonus optional one. BUT you are pretty much screwed if you need help. She takes forever to answer and seems as if she's not too well off with a computer. Bad professor, easy class.
She gives no explanation or feedback on why you get the grades you do, even after asking for specifics. I think she just picks numbers out of a hat when grading. A lot of coursework and frustrating to talk to when there is a problem. I would not suggest taking her courses! RUN AWAY!!!
DO NOT TAKE! No clear syllabus is given on what coursework to expect, she has you working down to the last second. Her instructions cause more questions than answers. She does not explain why you get the grades you do. When asking questions, you never seems to understand what is being asked, even if it is clear.
Professor Anderson is a very knowledgeable and experienced professor. She truly cares about the students in her class for now and the future. I would take the class again if I could.
Don't take her class. Extremely unclear. She assigned us a paper and graded it then decided to show us how she wanted the heading after she took off points for having the wrong one. Her lectures sound like they came from an 8th grade essay. She says one thing and does another and makes it extremely hard to hand in papers. Terrible professor.
Don't, just don't.
Took this class online and withdrew. She gives WAY to much work. I'm a straight A student and couldn't deal with it. Don't take this class!
Assigns research papers/response papers weekly. Does not give clear directions whatsoever. Never gives prompts for essays. Does not answer emails. Always late for class. Gives back papers covered in food/drink. Assigns large research papers over each break with ridiculous requirements. If possible take class with a different Prof, or not at all.
A LOT!! of reading and MASSIVE amounts of homework due weekly, I wouldn't recommend the class if you live an already busy schedule. With that said however the course work is easy to get through should you have the luxury of time to simply sit down and get it done.
Attendance is essential to passing, all assignments are assigned during class.. they are NOT on the syllabus. PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A LOT OF PAPERS! She gives a research paper every other class! If you don't mind doing papers, this is the professor for you. However, she is clumsy and loses papers so save them all on your comp/laptop! NO EXAMS GIVEN!
I had taken her history class online. Although there is a bit of reading and weekly work along with quizzes late work is accepted; which was a saving grace for me as I'm ft student and working ft. She is a fair grader, and I would take this professor again.
Don't get me wrong, she has a lot of knowledge, she's interesting & has a good personality, but I don't think teaching is her specialty. She assigns about 1 or 2 essays every week. 3-4 pages each. Unclear. Confusing. Frustrating, especially when you write a paper and she changes the essay topic after it's due. Do the essays and you'll get an A.
I was registered for this class for a week and chose to drop it already. She doesn't respond to emails and her syllabus is very vague. "Launchpad", the website she chooses to use barely works correctly. Glad I dropped it and I will take it in the future with a different professor. Don't take her.
Knowledgeable, but not forward thinking as a teacher. She assumed of us that we should answer reams of vague questions concerning reams of olde english text, was inconsistent with grading metrics and timetables. Thankfully we were able to convince her that she should consider the written assignments over the readings. Fair grades, hard to reach
Does not answer any emails or inquiries from students, SO difficult to reach. Does not give reasoning behind grades she gives you, it feels like she pulls them out of thin air. Good luck.
doesn't give due dates and then suddenly starts grading things work isn't hard you just dont know wehn she wants it
I loved her honestly. If you like History she is a good professor to have she really gets into it in her lectures.
Dr. Anderson is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students. She wants the students to succeed in their college career. I am very grateful and appreciate having the opportunity to have taken HIS 103 (traditional classroom) and HIS 104 (online) with Dr. Anderson. You will gain knowledge and have great experiences in her courses.
I like Professor Anderson. However, she gave too much homework and she wants high standard essays. Weekly online quizzes, 250 words weekly essay, 500 words mid term essay, 1000 words final essay. I work really really hard on her class in order to received a good grade. I am happy with my grade but I won't take her again.
Do not take Professor Anderson. All her instructions are unclear, and she is impossible to reach. She takes forever to respond to emails, and does not seem to be technologically savvy. Can be rude sometimes as well. Do yourself a favor, and find someone else!
I learned so-oo much about how disease influenced history. The lectures were great and she encouraged us to participate and share our opinions. No in class exams, so if you hate timed exams and quizzes and like to write essays , this is for you. She also to a lot of time to teach us college skills like writing a college paper, and MLA.
Professor Anderson is so sweet and understanding. She is very interesting in her lectures and is very knowledgeable. She does give alot of work but assignments are fairly easy. I love her class!
never gave many tests to my class which was awesome. weekly 250 word papers were annoying tho especially when school gets busy, they get harder and harder to write. she lectures a lot, sometimes interesting sometimes not . wasn't an awfully hard class ,i personally wasn't a fan of i.t. me and her were on good terms so i never had a problem.
Professor Anderson was wonderful. She brought history to life with her lectures. I loved her class and would love to take another class from her.
too much reading and documents!!!!!!!!!!!!! she expects way to much for a online course !!!!
Her class isnt difficult, the work is so-so, but she is whats difficult. Extremely vague/unclear about what she wants & she never answers emails which is the only way she allows you to get in touch with her. When she answers shes rude. Says one thing & then changes what she wants 12hrs before its due. For an online class, its ridiculous.
She was a great professor! Don't let other tell you otherwise. She never gave any test!!!!! That's amazing. She did give a mid term paper that she gave you set of questions to follow and you answer them in a paper format same goes for the final paper. She grades very fairly. There are also some doc readin with a couple questions easy class.
Amazing professor. Anyone who gave her a bad rating just didn't do the work. You're in college, you should be going to class and doing all the assignments. As long as you do that, you should have no problem with Prof. Anderson. Very sweet and understanding, she wants you to do well. Just do the work, review the material, and you'll do well with her
I honestly loved her. She is a great teacher and really includes everyone in class.
She has pre-assigned 4-5 question homeworks due every Sunday at 11:59 pm. You have to answer with 5-7 sentences each and it seems like a lot but if you do them you will have no problem passing at all. She'll say in class "history is like telling a story" and that's exactly what she does. She says you need the textbook but I never used it.
If you're expecting to take this course to learn of ancient history, think twice. Professor Anderson is very nice, very caring and accepting, but her lectures are complete drags. The due dates were very vague and the curriculum was unclear for most of the semester. The textbook was infrequently used as well. Nice person - not the best teacher thou.
She really blessed this semester. Just do your work and meet her halfway and she really makes an effort to reach you. Missed like five homework assignments during the semester and at the end of the semester she allowed the WHOLE class to submit ANYTHING that they missed. Including MIDTERMS. She's a nice lady with a good heart.
Currently working on this 300 word essay. It hasnt even been a week yet and I feel so stressed. This class consumes a lot of time. If youre working full-time, you will need to quit in order to give her course the time it needs. I doubt she realizes how much work she gives for the course. Never taken an online class this difficult in my life.
Planning on withdrawing from this course and substituting with another. Its sad NCC has only this professor teaching this online course. Too much work for the week. A million documents to read for a paper, questions to answer and responding back to a classmate. Also a quiz! How can someone manage to take this course being a full time student!??
her Irish history class was amazing, lots of lectures but I enjoyed them because of her personality and how she packaged it for us. barely any tests but be prepared with your books. not too much participation miss a class you miss info. clear but the assignments are sometimes a mystery where they came from. copy what is written, dates & names
I feel like most ppl can handle her class. Her weekly work consists of 300-500 word post, respond to a classmate, and answer 3 quiz questions. Theyre all manageable, however, she goes REAL hard grading her 3 question quizzes. You get a max score of 2 points and she grades it as 1.2 1.4 even if you show good work. NCC needs more prof for His104
For an online SUMMER class, she gives a lot of work. There were 2-3 chapters you had per week, each which it's own set of 3 quiz questions (which she grades very tough) and a 300-500 word DBQ attached and you needed to respond to a classmate's post as well. It is a lot of work, but she was the only teacher left. Definitely not taking again.
She's a really nice person. BUT- her syllabus is trash, VERY CONFUSING! Instructions are EXTREMELY vague! Difficult to reach. The amount of work for an OLA was insane. Uses turnitin for EVERYTHING! MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE THE DOCUMENTS IN YOUR RESPONSES! Offers one extra credit assignment. She's OK but her course is not user friendly.
I had Professor Anderson for HIS 104 and it was honestly a pretty easy class but is definitely a marathon. The bulk of your grade comes from weekly assignments every week based on the week's lecture, and she doesn't give tests just research papers. Lectures are sometimes boring but if you don't like history don't taker her you will not like it
She is a nice person, but she takes forever to answer emails and most of the time she will just say look in the syllabus. During lectures she uses Google to look stuff up and to search for pictures. It appears to me her lectures are not organized in any way.
This woman wanted my class to get books that werent even available in America! She hasnt sent a single email or done a single zoom call during this pandemic. Dont get me wrong she seems like a great lady but she is an awful professor. Such a waste of time and money.
When I registered for this class, I was nervous because all the negative comments here. But her class was easy, you have a discussion post every week, midterm, and the final. also, at the end she gives you an optional extra credit assignment and you can submit any missing assignments for full credit if you owe any.
I took History 104 Online, the professor was available to answer any questions. You are required to read a chapter every week and submit a Discussion board response of 300-500 words. She gives one midterm and a final essay. She is a fair grader but get ready to read and write a lot if you are taking this class fully online.
She is a really tough grader. You could try your best to please and do the assignments to the best of your ability and it will likely not be enough. Her syllabus instructions are not very clear and if you ask for instructions or clarifications it is obvious (in an email) that it annoys her. Don't do it to yourself.
Worse than awful! Her syllabus is very confusing. When you email her for a clarification she is slow to respond and seems annoyed. I am a good student and am willing to work hard, but the lack of clarity makes the work more difficult than it is. If I didnt need the credits to graduate I would drop this course. Avoid her classes!
One of the worst professors at NCC! Prof. Anderson seems unsure about the subject and her instructions are not clear. This makes it very difficult and confusing for students. I was looking forward to this class because a friend had recommended it, but she had a different professor.
I am so glad this course is over. I should have dropped it. Professor didnt seem to know what she was doing and was ignorant about womens history and issues. A waste of my time and money!
She knows her stuff on the subject. And maybe in person her lessons are amazing, while it is no offense to her in online class was putting me to sleep. I don't mean she was boring just her combination of her voice and the flow online made it hard to stay awake at times. She doesn't tell the due date of the first assignment you have to look that up
Just don't. Syllabus confusing. Barely responds to emails & does in hostile way redirecting to bad syllabus. Tough/lazy grader. Just lazy in general, like can't be bothered. Class is easy, read, discussion board, mid paper, pointless "list" for final. You'll almost NEVER get full credit for posts which is bulk of grade & she'll never tell you why
No tests, just weekly discussion forms that are easy and a midterm research paper that doesn't seem so terrifying to begin with. You just talk about a painting and its significance. The final is 10 important US events that we learned. There is extra credit too, I didn't do it tho lol.
I dropped this course and switched to womens studies. The syllabus and blackboard were carelessly thrown together and the teacher had a bad attitude when I asked a question about her confusing instructions. There should be better guidance for an online course.
Terrible teacher! I don't know how someone so uncaring, ignorant, and incompetent is allowed to teach.
Maybe she is okay in another history class, but she should not be teaching Women in American History. She seems to be opposed to things that are important to women today, like reproductive rights. It's really insulting to have someone like her teaching this class! Do not take this class with her, wait until someone else is teaching it.
There are not enough words to describe how amazing and inspirational this professor is. She is a kind hearted philanthropist and goes above and beyond to help students achieve their goals She is a fair professor with a wealth of knowledge that she shares with others. Her kindness does not equate to weakness so don't go in expecting an easy ride.
I had her for His103 and His104. She is an outstanding Professor. She's very understanding and extremely helpful and kind. She is also very knowledgeable and I've never been left confused in this course. By no means does she just hand out A's, her course is designed to getting what you give. Do the work and you'll do great. I 1000000% Recommend her
It's still early in the semester but so far, so bad! I should have taken this class with a friend who had a different and much better Professor in the summer. Maybe Professor Anderson is okay when she teaches in person, but there is no guidance and feedback in her online course.
She takes forever to respond to email and is annoyed by questions. You are completely on your own. It's obvious she is burned out and doesn't care about the students.
Places her biases front and center. She is a right wing Christian, and she unfortunately allows her view on the world into the coursework. She does not know her syllabus and claims to work with an "expert" to organize the coursework and the syllabus. A professor should not need an outside "expert" to help her with the coursework of a basic class.
The textbooks were good but she was beyond awful! Doesn't answer questions, sloppy syllabus, uninformed about subject, and very opinionated. This was my worst experience at NCC.
As someone who has a lot of anxiety over tests, I was super happy to only have to write papers. She was pretty lenient on how late stuff could be handed in so the homework (discussion boards) were pretty easy to get all credit for. I think the class was super easy as long as people read what was assigned and did the work.
She never responds to emails, she does attendance however she pleases and she does not care at all what happens to the students. I don't understand why become a professor if you don't want to teach. Would never take her again.
Prof. Anderson's class was a mixed bag. The textbook was decent, but her teaching style lacked clarity and left many students confused. unstuck ai was a helpful study tool, but this class was overall a frustrating experience.
Really awful professor! I expect to pass this course with a decent grade but Anderson made the experience so difficult and unpleasant. Her instructions are confusing and contradictory and she doesn't know much about the subject.
Reading historical textbooks were tough for me. I did not understand how to comprehend them in the way they were written. With her guidance of reading it as a story instead of a text book I was able to comprehend more history than I ever have I learned to rely on primary source documents that were emphasized by her teaching. She is fascinating
Very tough grader will take off points for anything she doesn't agree with. Save your money and choose a different professor, I wish I knew about this website before hand. It is clear she doesn't care about her students. You can tell when she's in a bad mood when it comes to grading.
Her biggest flaw is she lets her students derail her class, and an hour and 15 minute lecture will turn into an hour of her discussing politics and current affairs with her students rather than teaching the course material while the last 15 minutes is her playing catch up. She also has issues with shifting the goalposts when it comes to assignments
