She is clear and you can understand her lectures. Don't expect to get out of class early. Very organized lecture and chapters. Tests are based probably 90% on her homework. Gets you ready for next level.

Professor Ura is such a great teacher! She gives you the notes for each chapter in class and is very helpful if you have questions. Also, the classwork and homework is very necessary to do to help you on the tests. Overall a very helpful professor and wants to see you succeed in her class. Would definitely take her class again!

Lecture heavy, but provided great slides with most of the information that was on the exams which meant limited need for the textbook. The use of videos as examples for the class topics broke up the lecture time. The only complaint I have is we took many breaks during lecture. I would have preferred less breaks in order to leave early.

I am not the best math student and when I was required to take a Statistics class I panicked. However, Professor Ura made Statistics seem easy. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY! Show up. Follow along during class. Do the study guide and you will be just fine. She is 100% honest and is willing to make sure you actually learn what you are studying.

Although statistics is a difficult undertaking, this professor does everything she can to set you up for success on the exams. Be sure not to miss a class - take notes and ask any questions you might have. I will not say that statistics is easy but she does an excellent job at guiding you through the information and helping you to understand it.

Masako was an amazing statistics professor! I took her class during summer at Fullerton College and even though it was really fast paced, she make it easy to understand. The slides and her lectures were really helpful. We got a lot of practice in class so there was not too much homework. She knows what she is doing and I would highly recommend her.

By far one of my favorite Professors of all time. Always asking us if we are understanding the material, couple emails a week keeping us updated almost daily with our grades and when assignments are due... If you're transfering, pick her brain for advice. She made sure I was prepared for what lies ahead!

Professor Masako Ura is a great teacher. She gives information that is coming from the book and personal experiences. The Tedtalks really helped me understand the concepts better. Also, she is well respected and will respect situations when needed but only when it is not last minute. Grading criteria is fully defined in her syllabus.

I enjoyed taking a class from this professor. Her expectations are clearly stated in the syllabus. You do need to attend every class or you will not pass. There are a lot of in class assignments that are really easy to do, but you cant make them up if youre absent.

One of my favorite professors. She doesn't go on rants. She spends class time wisely and explains the material clearly. She is an organized professor which makes learning that much easier. The only thing is that she seems to get annoyed with dumb questions, but I don't think she's trying to be rude. She's just likes to get straight to the point.

Prof. Ura is a great instructor if youre taking developmental psychology AND really want to learn. She explains theories clearly and makes it easier to learn as long as you pay attention. She may seem strict but thats bc she expects your best. I would definitely recommend taking her. Its not an easy-A, but you can get it if you put the work in.

The class was very straight forward. I was able to pass the class relying mostly on her notes, her practice questions and the study guides. I didn't read the text book much. Focus mostly on the examples and the practice sheets. There are a few concept questions so you have to really understand what you are doing. Take advantage of her extra credit

Professor Ura is a great teacher. From day one, lectures are full on. She explains thoroughly and exactly what she expects. Grading is clear cut, lessons are thoroughly explained, test are pretty straight forward (only study what she covers, there is no point in going tangent... as she states), come to class every day, study & you'll get an A.

Teaching style; slides you print and bring to class, follow along during lecture and then in class assignments where prof walks around making sure everyone understands . NO homework but weekly online quizzes. Posts grades promptly and is super nice. As a DSS student , I felt very supported. I love statistics! I feel like I learned a new language.

Professor Ura was one of the best teachers I have taken! The semester consisted of 5 exams (final is not cumulative), few at home assignments, and weekly online quizzes. Make you do all the in class worksheets and extra credit in order to study for the exams. Professor Ura was super caring and really wants her students succeed in life.

Not an easy A and you need to put in time for exams. Classes are lecture first then practice problems by yourself. She walks around to help students. Slides,practice questions, quizzes, exams are all the same but just numbers changed. No pop quizzes and no trick questions. Offers extra credit after most exams. If you feel like your bad at math and scared of taking another math class but need to take STATS, please take this class. Easiest math class ever! Pre-recorded lectures, explains everything thoroughly. Easy assignments, quizzes are not graded, you only have 2 exams and 1 final that consists of multiple choice and take home open ended questions.

If you have to take PSY16C, you can't go wrong attending Professor Ura's class because she is awesome. Her lectures were simple and easy to understand. However, because this is a psychology STATISTICS class, homework has a good amount of writing. Weekly workload will never exceed 5 hours unless you get distracted like me t.t.

She is really nice and I was glad that I took this class even as someone who is absolutely terrified of math. She always gives super good feedback and is so happy to help people who are struggling in math. Professor Ura is a solid choice for PSY 161C, and she's very clear in terms of her expectations. I took her five-week online summer class, and it was manageable. There are weekly quizzes, two exams, and SPSS assignments which are all decently easy if you follow the directions. Overall not bad of a summer class.

I took Professor Uras 5 week online Statistics course. As many of the commenters mention this is a great class to take if you doubt your abilities to learn statistics. The course outline was clear and well organized, the lectures and the material on the exams match, and she teaches you the fundamentals without any twists or turns.

Professor Ura is by far the best professor I've had during my two years at Cypress College. PART 2. Her lectures are to the point and well-structured. Her class was fully online, yet she was more involved than other classes I've taken online and in person. She sends frequent reminders, responds to emails quickly, and most importantly, she is very encouraging.

PART 3. It can get overwhelming once you progress through the chapters and you begin seeing different mathematical symbols on top of the ones you've learned, but she tells us during the lectures to take a deep breath, relax, and reassures us that we will be okay.

PART 4. She creates a perfect learning environment for us students even though we are not in a classroom. Cypress College is fortunate to have a faculty member like her! 10/10 would recommend her; you will not be disappointed!

Amazing teacher, take her classes! I'm awful at all kinds of math and this class was a breeze for me. She has video lectures AND text demonstrations that are easy to understand. She's very kind and truly wants success for all of her students. Fast responses to emails, sends reminders and motivating messages, and she grades fast.

She provides video presentations on all the modules, which are very helpful, step-by-step instructions for literally everything she is asking for. She gives us templates we only have to fill in, and the exams are so easy! She is very amazing and cares for the students.
