Great professor, very helpful and pretty lenient grader as long as you follow basic guidelines. Overall I enjoyed taking her class and would definitely recommend her. The textbook isn't really necessary, all her notes will be posted online, but it helps if you want more detail on the chapters.

4 Exams, 4 write up papers, and a group presentation. Overall, Masako was a brilliant professor, she really cares about her students and wants them to drill the materials in their head. Professor Ura makes stat class looks easy, she is extremely helpful, as long as you show up to class with all the material you will pass, the material get tougher and so the exams but her lecture notes have everything you need to pass the class, i would take her again if i could. wish she would teach research methods.

Masako Ura is awesome. She is very good providing information to help you conceptually understand the material. She designs her own packets that she hands out with practice problems and notes which is so helpful. This is a difficult class but she makes it doable. You need the text book and attendance is a must to keep up with the material.

Professor Ura is amazing. I took her at Fullerton College and even though she did not have an office, she still made time to see her students outside of class. She truly cares about the students who try and want to pass. I was terrified to take stats, but she helped me out so much and I am truly grateful. I utterly recommend her.

Masako is great she's funny, sweet, and willing to answer any questions. To some people she may talk quickly but just let her know if she's going too fast and she'll adjust. If you do your homework and follow her study guide outline, you should be pretty solid. Stats is all about crossing your t's and dotting your i's so double check your answers!

Masako is one of the most helpful teachers that I've ever had. She responds to emails usually within an hour and she is more than happy to help. Also, her instructions for the class are very clear, so if you follow and go to class it shouldn't be hard to get an A. However, there is a lot of work but it is worth it and she makes it easier.

I took stats 280 with Masako fall 2016. Her class is everything you could hope for from a class that you actually want to learn in. Structured, clear with what she expects, very open to communication with students, very sweet and takes subject matter that is very difficult and makes it understandable. I wish i could take her for more classes.

She was one of the best professors I have had yet at OCC. She gives you every resource imaginable to understand the content. She also makes a point to make study guides that represent what will be on the tests! Amazing teacher, funny, a little dorky, and would definitely take a class with her again!

Ura has a heavy syllabus and lengthy study guides but all for the students best interest. Attend class (or read the book), do the test outlines, and pay attention to detail when it comes to writing the papers and you'll be just fine! It seems like a long class but she gives the perfect amount of in class practice/group projects that it flys by.

She is wonderful. Make sure you e-mail her rough drafts of papers because she gives so much useful feedback. I took PSYCH 280 (research methods) and PSYCH 160 (stats) with her and she designed the classes so the material matched up. I feel like if I took one of these classes with a different professor I would have not done as well this semester.

I had professor Masako for Stats and Research Methods and they were very time consuming but worth it! She makes the material understandable and she is very helpful. She was the best professor I had at OCC. If you're looking for an easy "A" her classes aren't for you.

Prof. Masako is very helpful and cares about your grade. Her teaching method is very easy. She teaches everything step-by-step, which allows you to learn at your own pace. She only has 3 homework assignments, but her APA papers will take up most of your time outside of class. If you do all her assignments you'll do good. Exams are not important.

Math is not my forte, but this class was great! This class focuses more on interpreting the statistics than the math behind it, while still teaching you the math. Her lectures are easy to follow and the review&homework she gives are great practice for her tests. She grades on your process and completion with homework. She is always willing to help!

Ura may seem strict at first, but take advantage of pre-class hours and you'll see a different side of her. She can be very accommodating, and is always prepared to answer questions. PowerPoint is the same as the textbook. In-Class Labs and Assignments daily. RARELY HOMEWORK. Tests are multiple choice with short answers. APA Papers. Fun!

It was a joy to be a part of professor Ura's class. Psyc280 takes a lot of time and effort. If you follow her syllabus and read before class, the notes and in class assignments are not too difficult to keep up with. Her tests are not that difficult if you review her study guides. Overall, this has been my favorite course at OCC.

One of the best professors Ive ever had. She is kind, professional, has a clear grading criteria. She replies to emails within the hour and post test scores the day of. She gives you all the materials you need to be successful and its really up to you whether you want to work hard or not. Im so thankful I had her for the classes I took.

During my Orange Coast College journey, I've taken Masako for behavioral stats and intro to research. She has been my favorite professor by far. Masako has high expectations of her pupils and if you put in the effort you will succeed. She incorporates SPSS into the courses which sets you up for success. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

She's so sweet, at times she is firm and strict so you understand what she wants exactly but she cares for each student and the notes are easy to follow. I retook the class with her for Intro to Stats and went from the F i had gotten to an A, not so much concept heavy but she does explain them and how to use them for your calculations.

Overall a great class that prepares you for the 4-year universities. Your attendance is mandatory to fill out the lecture slides, In-Class Assignments, and Labs. She may seem intimidating at first but she's a really good professor. She tells you what you need for the test and doesn't make you memorize the formulas. She will always help you if you need help. Just make sure you attend all the classes because i missed 2 classes and got behind, but she offered extra credit. That really helped.

Professor Uras class is hard but she will help you succeed! The content includes writing an article review with APA formatting, writing a research proposal, conducting an experiment, writing a report and running statistics in SPSS. You will also do a naturalistic observation presentation, read the textbook, attend lectures and take four exams.

Professor Ura really inspired me and made me believe in myself. Coming from a shaky background in statistics I was not doing great in the beginning of the semester and she worked with me and helped me turn my grade around to finish strong and transfer to state school. If you feel like your bad at math and scared of taking another math class but need to take STATS, please take this class. Easiest math class ever! Pre-recorded lectures, explains everything thoroughly. Easy assignments, quizzes are not graded, you only have 2 exams and 1 final that consists of multiple choice and take home open ended questions.

I am very math-phobic, but Professor Ura gives the space to learn from mistakes without being penalized as long as you aren't skipping steps. She has a knack for breaking concepts down in a way that is accessible, even if you aren't a math person, which really points to her expertise. Copy down formulas and symbols (label them!) to have handy.
