His exams were multiple choices directly from the book text bank. Fair lecuturer with a dry sense of humor.

Guys beter be careful with him. If he teachs econ than you in trouble thats all I can say.

Took him for Stats was just a horrible this time around. At least he knows a lttle more about finance than he did about statistics. more interested in lecturing about house purchases and payments than about course subject. Boring and unhelpful in subject.
I really wanted to drop this class when I took him. He is very boring.He tries to make joke, but it didn't work. You would not understand what he teaches, unless, you are not tired and give a lot of concentrations to him. Must study from book. However, he gave a lot of extra credit. We got a take home test because average in our class was very bad.
i have to say that he is not good at teaching unless you know how to learn by yourself. but he is a nice guy and trys to help us pass his classes.
He is very hard. He has a focused teaching style but it is very hard to follow. He is sweet and wants you to understand, so if you don't ask questions and he will do his best to help. However, you will be left learning the information on your own because he is not good at presenting the information in a way that you can understand.
All I want to know is: WHERE DO THEY GET THESE PEOPLE. I got an A, but this guy should not be teaching...even though I got an A, I still don't know what I learned...stay away from this idiot.
Was super duper unclear in his lectures but his tests were crazy easy cause you got to use a cheat sheet and the stuff was really similar to the homework.
I don't know about other classes that he teaches. But in his ECON 310 class, there are many many extra credits. I didn't pay much effort into this class, but I got a very good grade.

Hard to understand him Goes over the examples as if we already know how to do it. Besides that his test are easy! lets you have a cheat sheet full page front and back. the 2 projects are simple. He is not clear though so i suggest you read the book more better. i just show up to class to get points on attendandce. i do my owm lecture at home.

Professory Darbandi is great. I found him to be very clear and explain things very thoroughly. He also makes himself very available in case you have any extra questions. I suggest taking his class.
This guy does not know what is the statistice may be he rode about it in the books ONLY. Meybe he knows a lot but does not have ability to introduce student.VERY VERY BAD DO NOT TAKE IT.
The WORST professor I ever had so far. Cannot teach and his exams are the so difficult that your cheat sheat does not help. If you have a choice DO NOT take him or you will regret it.
Love his class. His exams are super easy especially with a one page help cheat. You'll find this class diffifult if you do not bother to do his hm, have no interest in statistics and expect to get an A with doing nothing. Just do the hm and youll be fine because his exams and finals are based on them.
Looks like his Econ class is easy, but FIN 303 was not! He's hard to understand sometimes, is not clear so you get easily confused. Homework and cheat sheet doesn't help. I ended up teaching myself.
Easy class if you have a little backround on statistics. His class is very straight forward and quizes are like the practice quizes from the BOOK website. All multiple choice quizes. A little hard to understand but not impossible
I am currently taking this guy, and he's hard to understand. When it comes to his office hours Darbandi first checks on his train schedule. Since this's his means of transportation. He's probably easy for Econ 209 but he does not do a good job on Econ 309
He is hard to understand and doesn't guide you! I ended up teaching myself how to do the work and his quizzes were hard, despite the fact that you got to use a cheat sheet! If your enrolled withdraw and take it with another professor.
I usually get A's but im failin in this class or i think cuz he grades by the curve cuz EVERYONE does bad in his class! I got a 67! n he said avg was 61. I asked "thot test was based on hmwk" and he said he changed his mind! Hate him! Waste of time!
This teacher is a complete idoit, you dont learn S**t, his tests are very hard, his accent is very difficult to understand. He doesnt know what he is talking about. Waste of time and money. I had to drop the class because of poor tests scores and annoying and boring professor.
Don't give up that easily. He seemes hard and boring at the beginning, but later you kind of like him. His tests are not easy, but this make you study harder. Just read everything, not only the most imprtant things. Cause he'll give you easy extra credit and will grade on curve. from "C", I went to "A". Of course, "C" is best you can get.
Not the best prof. He is unclear and test problems are time consuming! All I can say is study study and study you book and do all!!! your hw! Easy class if you love and are good at math. Difficult for those who barely passed math with a C!. I got an A though =). He is very picky and wants everything neat and perfect!
Oh my gosh, where do i start? If you HAVE TO take this class, then, be prepared to study on your own. He is very boring and annoying. He is VERY UNhelpful, I had to copy papers from other people, because he didn't want to give them to me, cuz i was 10 mins late. WTF! He is very EWWW! Even w/ a cheat sheet it's still impossible to pass. :(
He was a bit hard at first, but as the quarter went on, he curve to help students because a lot of people were struggling. He also gave extra credit. As long as you read, you should do fine. He will help if you ask him.
THIS GUY CAN'T TEACH!!!! He's lient in the grading but thats about it. He's pretty unclear cause he talks and teaches so fast your lost in his class. The best method to do well in this class is just to study the book. You don't even need to go to his class cuz you won't learn S**T. Just do all the assignments and tests and you'll get at least a C.
He goes through the chapters quite fast and doesn't explain very well. He does curve and allows some extra credit but w/o these I'd prob get a C instead of an A. If things are unclear, I suggest seeing him during office hours. He is very helpful if you find time to see him.
He is a nice teacher, humorous, bird walks all the time, lectures are ok and easy to follow, but his exams are very difficult, you get to use a cheat sheet, but still difficult, i got a C+, NOT what i expected. Poor grading, but helpful. Just his exams are horrible!
Darbandi is boring and basically you will have to learn everything from the book. He stated that he curved the exam, but his curve is the exact curve that other classes use which is 90, 80, 70, 65. Take another professor if you don't want to learn stats by yourself.

Most of the topics covered here is a review of Fin 303. The exams are a bit tricky but you should do fine if you study and practice the mini cases and end of chapter problems. Extra credits assigned if the majority in the class is struggling. Very helpful professor.
He is full of crap! His exams are extremely difficult and very hard to prepare for. You will need to study webct notes, do problems from the book, and organize a good study group to make sense of his crap and to even have a chance on his exams. There was one group project, he chose the groups. The group project was very difficult. Do not take him!
I think he is a good professor. His tests are very clear. You have to read the book to get a good grade. Don't be lazy.

This professor doesn't really teach the material. Read the assigned chapters and work on homework PRIOR to coming to class or else you'll be bored and confused the whole time. After taking my first exam I had to study/work harder. Just took my 2nd exam yesterday and I think it well well. DO NOT RELY ON PROFESSOR to understand the material!

Read the text before coming to class, and ASK questions--sometimes he does not explain very clearly but if you ask him to clarify he usually does a great job. Tests were difficult but there was a HUGE curve (75%=A). Attendance not required but if you want to learn/pass and u want the extra credit he occasionally hands out, come every day.
Not too hard with the curve. Fair amount of homework. Exams are stuff he covered in class and some stuff out of the book that he never went over. 1 page of note though.
The subject was taught using powerpoint which he read off of and quizzes over each chapter. The powerpoints are almost exactly word 4 word from the book, very boring to hear him read off of. The professor needs to spend more time going over homework problems which are more insightful than quizzes. To get A in class quizzes, HW, ex. credit, easy.
As a non-finance major, the subject was difficult in my opinion. Read textbook, use 1 page cheat sheet, and do the homework. He flies through the powerpoints and is not able to make the work easy to understand. But he is fair, a great curve, and gives extra-credit. His test are difficult, and the Final is comprehensive!
Typo's on exams and Some of the tested material (which I suspect came from a test bank) was not covered in class for Macroeconomics.
A lot of work... homework for every chapter, but having homework makes you know the material (he provides the solutions when the hw is assigned) easy going prof. Look forward to taking him next quarter.
This professor is very boring and relies on his powerpoints and the book. It is mandatory to come to class. He also has a very heavy accent. I did not listen to any of his lectures in class, and just read the material in the book myself. I honestly didnt learn anything in Macro, but managed to luckily get a C.
This teacher is very nice, but his tests are very difficult. He doesn't give a good study guide so you have to study everything. I studied really hard and still didn't do as well as I normally do. I usually get A's on tests. The only thing that gives me hope is that he's grading on a curve. I wouldn't recommend this professor.
Don't take this professor. He gives 5 exams, and they are very hard. The final is cumulative. The test questions are written in ways that are not written in the book, so it's very difficult.

This is not an easy subject! Professor is unclear, and tests are hard and tricky based on textbook material not covered in class. Average in the class in a low C, so he has to curve in order for people to pass! Study, and read all the chapters, and do all the hw! Difficult to get an A, expect a C but with more effort you can get a better grade!

a really nice person, but He sucks as a professor. if he didnt curve, more than half the class would fail. he knows he curves, even 40% of your final grade is a C, because he'd be jobless if he didnt do that kind of curve. if you just want to pass FINance then take him but if ur a finance major take someone else, coz i learned NOTHING!!!

The lectures are extremely boring, and not great either. Lots of homework assignments, which are similar to midterm and a final. The call was not hard to pass, but if you are really interested in finance/investments, choose a better professor.
Gives a LOT of handouts. if you have his night class, he usually lets the class out early. he is very confusing and does grade on a curve. u rarely use the book. buy the international version online because it is way cheaper.

Tough class. You will have to work in order to get a good grade. But he tries his best to make students understand the materials. He is helpful in a way, but sometimes his accent makes it hard to understand.Very strict with no laptops in class. 1 midterm, 1 final.

This guy is hard and uses a lot of excel, but you can't use your laptop in class to work on the excel while he is teaching it. I don't recommend this teacher unless you already have taken the subject and have prior knowledge.
Hard class, alot of information, make sure u get a TI-83 or 84 calculator it makes it alot easier to do the problems, useless taking notes hes not a mean guy its just alot of material he trys to cover, no projects, 4 tests and a final lets you use a cheat sheet, must have book for the HW, not an easy A but it can happen

Horrible at clarifying the material. you cant solely rely on the book either if this subject is not the easiest for you. you will struggle to understand the material with this professor. nice man but not very clear. gives exams on the chapters every week and a half.

This guy loves to talk about anything BUT what is important for tests. He does go over the homework, but even with that there are pointless stories. This guy, in my opinion is dead weight. I never was interested in Finance, and this just sealed the deal for my disliking of the subject.
He would not be my 1st 2nd or 3rd choice for selecting a teacher. If you have no choice but to take his class, good luck. Advice: Need to know excel because you can't bring laptops in class
