This guy is SO easy going. He makes the class fun. His tests are not that difficult if you take notes. You never even have to read the book if you just show up for class. His tests are based on notes taken in class.

Fazeli basically follows a teaching system that I have come to find the most useful. During class you basically just take notes, but if you blink you'll miss like everything that he's talkign about. Tests come straight from the notes so attendance is essential. For a few minutes before and during class he'll start talking about random social issues

M.Fazeli is perhaps the nicest down to earth professor here at Hofstra. He tells things the way they are and his style is excellent. All you have to do is take notes and he even offers 4-5 Extra Credit assignments so that always helps. Definately recommended for any ECO course...

You don't need to buy the textbook for this class its a waist of money. All his exams are based on his notes. He also offers some extra credit. His teaching is clear and understandable maybe a little too fast. Overall he's a good teacher.

Excellent professor. He knows economics very well and could probably write a textbook if he wanted. He explains everything. Exams are easy if you study his notes. He usually starts off class with a joke or some story which only 2 people laugh at but it's still funny.

I didnt believe people when there were comments saying "you dont need the book" so I bought it anyway. I have NEVER touched it! Not because Im lazy but because it truly is ALL ABOUT THE NOTES! What a fantastic professor! He is a really nice guy and truly wants everyone to understand the material and do well. However, do not confuse this for easy as you will have to work for a good grade. On the bright side, his tests were very straight forward and you have only yourself to blame if you do not do well; there are no tricks at all.

By far the best professor I've had so far at Hofstra. I absolutely hated micro in my last semester of HS, then took it again with him in my first semester of college, and loved it! He's a good guy, always makes jokes, and thoroughly explains the material. However, his tests are rather difficult, so make sure to study for them!

Loved the class and professor Fazeli. Teaches the class like in the old days. No powerpoint, no notes, no nothing. He just talks forever and remembers tons of cool facts. If you pay attention you will actually learn a lot about economics. Tests were hard but if you study and put on effort and time you will end up with a good grade. Must take!

Massoud Fazeli is very clear in his presentation. His exams come straight from his class lectures. Just come to class, take notes on what he says, and study your notes for the exam. He's a very nice man, and I enjoyed being in his class. The only bad thing was the horrible classroom the class was held in (it had chair-desks at $1125 per credit)

I took ECO 001 with him during the January intersession. He never gives homework, and you will never need the textbook because what he covers in class is all that matters. However, I wish he would be more lenient when grading exams. You have to really know your stuff in order to do well on his tests. But other than that, I'd recommend taking him.

Fazeli is one of my favorite professors. I also had him for ECO 001. He makes Economics interesting and his entire class is a lecture but its clear explanations on concepts for his exams. He also offers extra credit. If I have another opportunity to take one of his classes, I would not hesitate.

during every class, he basically just gave us handouts that the 3 exams were based on. Not a cumulative final, thank goodness. as long as you really study the handouts he gives you, you will do fine. exams were 20 questions long, short answer (1-4 sentences). some exam questions were confusing but overall not bad. really nice and funny guy.

Massoud Fazeli is an absolute gem. He tests on the bulleted handouts on books that he has read, which aren't difficult, but it's hard to tell exactly which questions he's going to ask, so if you focus on the wrong things on the handouts you're screwed. However, I would 100% take him again for his sheer story-telling ability and wisdom alone.

You're graded by a few tests (4) based off of his in class lectures. The final is another test that is equal to the other three tests. He does very well bringing together a lot of subjects under the lens of economics. He also gives out worksheets with all the points he covers in in-class discussion (but you'll have to take some additional notes)

He knows a lot about economics, so he ties his lectures into that material if it applies. 2 tests and a final with extra credit papers. Out of my spring C&E, he was the better of the two by a mile!

He is such a sweet and nice man, but in many of my classes I was the only one who would show up :( You can tell that ever since the university started providing online options for students, it's been very hard on him. He's not good with zoom, so if you can just show up.

Professor Fazeli was by far one of the most caring and understanding professors that I've had at Hofstra. I will say that although attendance wasn't mandatory in my class, it helps if you attend because all of the material on the exams is class material. Your grade is based on three (kinda difficult) exams. Study and you'll do well in this class.

Awesome professor. Had him for ECO 142 and ECO 131 over the summer. Lectures are interesting. Prof. Fazeli is willing to debate and offer his own opinion. He is funny as well. The grade for the summer lectures is just 2 tests made up of 20 questions each, so you HAVE to show up and take notes. If you do that, you'll do good. TAKE HIM!

Professor Fazeli's got jokes and likes to make people laugh. However, you are only graded on three tests, each have 20 short response questions, so you need to memorize A LOT of information. You absolutely have to show up because he doesn't post notes or use Canvas, so you won't really know your final grade till the end of the semester.

Had him for ECO01. He is a very good man and his class was very interesting. Take good class notes. He does not use canvas. Grading was super easy.

Absolutely fantastic professor. He hands out the notes at the beginning of every class, although I would recommend taking additional notes in case because there are times where things on tests are not in the notes. Incredibly nice as a person, great thinker in general, and totally understanding in most cases.

Grade is entirely 3 exams and a book report. All are not incredibly hard, but they're a lot. 20 questions per exam, all worth the same points, including the final. He's a very nice guy, he knows what he's talking about, and likes to make people laugh. It's not a very engaging class, lectures are him reading off a printout. Good class, just boring.

He's a very hilarious and kind professor. But you ABSOLUTELY have to show up and take notes since he doesn't use canvas. He really cares for his students and wants them to succeed, and if you have any issues, he is completely understanding. I had a death in my family during the semester, and when I told him this, he was very sympathetic towards me.

The only things you're graded on are the three exams, and if he sees improvement not just in the tests, but also your class habits (i.e participation) he'll take that into account. Also, STUDY STUDY STUDY. Tests can be difficult if you don't have good notes.

Overall, Professor Fazeli was funny and had great knowledge on what he was talking about. His lectures are interesting, but TAKE NOTES! Even with all the notes and studying I did the tests are very random (question-wise) and difficult. Papers throughout the semester count for extra credit so 100% do those. He's really sweet and caring.

Really caring professor. He knows his stuff, but the tests are by NO means easy. 20 questions all short answer, NO MC. You need to study or you won't pass. Do the extra credit. It will save your grade. Take notes, utilize study tools effectively and you'll do well.

Very lecture based course that was graded entirely on a book review and 3 tests that were all 20 questions and fully short answer. His lectures were very interesting and he definitely knew what he was talking about. Would frequently make me laugh. He was also very understanding and would be open to listening to his students.

He is a good professor and his tests are a lot like what he gives in class. However, the only grades for the semester are the exams. There is no homework and he gives no review sheets or post lectures. If you miss class you will have to get the notes from someone else. There are extra credit opportunities that help a little. Nice professor & funny!

Great Professor. The class centers on lectures. Professor talks about a lot of interesting subjects in different fields. Your grade is 3 tests made of short answer questions and a book review that provides some extra credit. Sheets covering class material and sample test questions are provided each class. It's important to show up to do well.
