I hate math, but Talebi did a wonderful job of making it understandable and fun! He is foreign but is very clear and I doubt anyone will have any confusion as to what he says. tests and quizzes are easy if you study. Very patient and VERY helpful. Seems like a boring guy but is actually very Funny.
I m taking MAC1105 with Mr. Talebi now and I have to say he is the best math teacher in the whole world. He works so hard to make sure you learn and he gives excellent notes. I highly recommend him. I wish I had taken him for all my other math classes.
I have taken talebi for 3 classes, he is he best teacher i have ever had. I was one of the worst math sudents ever. Now Im a wiz. I highly recomend him. very clear notes and its hard to fail his class cause you get extra points if you miss a test question and go over it with him.
excelent teacher. I recomend him to anyone that needs a math course!!
He takes the long way to explain every topic which can make it a little overwhelming. He holds class till the very last second. And his final is cumulative which is as hard as it gets!
good teaching method but i don't think he's grading scale is reasonable at all. he will not round your grade not even 89.9
somewhat boring, but explains everything very well and gives very in depth notes. good for someone who might not be great at math.
I took College Al. with Mr. Talebi before liked him so much that I am taking Calculus with him now. He is a teacher with a heart. He puts all is notes on the board and explains all concepts so clearly. While doing homework I only look at the book for the questions because his notes explains all. Also during tests he gives credit for the work done.
Excellent math teacher. I used to hate math and now I enjoy it. He is fair and teaches step by step whatever is on the notes excellent teacher I recommend him. All his notes are in his head so you know he is very knowledgeable.
ecplains the hard way! ughhh
Not bad, but not good. He is fair but be prepared to work for your grade.
Professor with a heart of stone. He is not helpful at all and has the tendency of embarassing you and making you feel this little. He encourages you to come to his office for extra help but when you go there he belittles you. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU WANT YOUR SELF RESPECT.
Heartless JERK. Do not take this class. You will regret it. Everybody in my class hated him because he is so MEAN.
Biggest mistake of my life taking his class. I will regret it forever. Meaner than mean.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY.
Dont ever take this teacher for any of the math courses that he teaches. He is absolutely terrible and is extremely hard. many people have failed his class, because he doesnt teach properly and the tests are extremely difficult and hard to understand. he doesnt round your grade or help you pass. he is also very mean and embarrasses students!!
just do what he asks and get an easy a

When you are in his class it seems like you are learning a lot because he makes you write about 20 pages of notes each class but after the semester you realized that all you did in his class was memorize his boring notes. Do not even think about asking for help either in class or in his office coz he will embarass you and make you feel very little.
Excellent teacher he cares about his students dont listen to what other people say he is a good teacher you just have to do the work
Worst professor in PBCC.
Talebi is highly overrated. He Sucks!!!!!!!!
Hes really a great teacher..it may not be an easy class but he does everything he can to make sure his students understand. Im horrible in math and i got an A in his class because he actually teaches what needs to be learned and always answered questions
He is a great teacher.A little boring, but very helpful, responsible and kind. And he explains everything very good.I would defenitely recomend him.
Very clear. Gives very good notes.
Terrific teacher gives you a strong foundation gets you ready for College Algebra.
Notes, notes, and notes again...I have never written so much in my life. He gives a lot of homework! His tests are all multiple choice and if you do the hw and take notes you will get an A 100%. Very clear, detailed notes and you would feel like you are in high school still. Nice guy...take him, study and you ll get an A!
WOW,he is a great teacher but you just have to be ready to take notes. There's no one like him. When I went to his class I didn't even know if I was in college I thought I was still in high school.I highly recommended him he is the best.LOVE YOU PROFESSOR TALEBI.
This teacher will make you feel like you are in 7th grade again, doing binder checks and other senile things.he talks to everyone like they are retarded, hes a good teacher for middle school and high school, not college, because he teaches u like u are in middle school. if ur good at math dont take this class you will lose braincells each session.
Okay he gives alot of notes but they are very useful...if u are use to fast pace teachers he is not one of them. he takes his time giving notes...it can be a good thing and bad...he has the tendency to waste time he rather take the long way then the short....u'll understand if u take him... but Good teacher...
great teacher.. writes down everything! if you pay attention and attend class you should do just fine. multiple choice tests. you can get partial credit on a test question if he feels you knew what you were doing and just made a dumb mistake.
good teacher! gives alot of notes.which are very helpful. if you pay attention..your bound to get a good grade..he gives partial credit on every test.but overall hes a fair teacher
The review he gave in never match the test and to much rules. He never smile he's too mean.
If you want to learn algebra, this is not the man for you. More than half of his class is failing. He only writes notes on the board. He cannot teach. He says he will answer your question, but he keeps going. He moves too quickly and does not care if we know what we are doing. STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO LEARN!
useless teacher! just writes notes the whole time. Thinks he is better than you are and belittles you and makes you feel stupid if you ask a question. i have to use my book to learn, because he makes no sense. horrible, horrible, horrible! shame on you PBCC
Any math course i took with him is horrible, these kinda of teachers should be fired from teaching, gave grades ridiculously
He gives you multiple choice tests, & the next day if you come for the review & show him questions you got wrong he gives you points on your tests. Gives out extra credit & homework checks! I don't know why all these people complain about him, hes the best math teacher!
can't teach. more worried about how notebook looks than what you learn. gave 2 tests incl. final in 3 days! Take someone else!
USELESS. ALL I DID WAS COPY HOMEWORK FROM NOTES I COPIED FROM THE NOTES HE COPIED ONTO THE CHALKBOARD, WHICH HE MADE US COPY INTO A NOTEBOOK WHICH HE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE WE COPIED CORRECTLY. AT THE END, I HAVE LEARNED PRACTICALLY NOTHING. USELESS. TREATS YOU LIKE A 9TH GRADER.
This professor is very structured his class is not a walk in the park but he does not make is hard. All you have to do is do is write down all the notes and study and you will pass. Take it from a guy that taken Mac1105 4 times.
I think he has been really underrated. His test are multiple choice, 10-15 questions, not tricky at all;he gives great reviews and he is very helpful. The homework and the notes are a lot but definitely doable. It was an easy A; he knows what his stuff, but if you are lazy and want to slack throughout college-don’t take him!
Listen carefully and pay close attention to the following; I took this professor for a summer class, (6 wks) and the only thing I can tell you is that he has OCD when it comes to his class notes, behavior, homework, etc. He will give you A LOT of homework to do and as much notes in class. Follow those rules and at the end you will like him.
He is a very good teacher if you like structure. The people that are talking about the notebooks dont realize he isnt checking your notes, he is checking your homework. He checks it on test day which is good so that you actually do it before the test. HE IS A GREAT TEACHER. I am going to take him again for statistics
I was very disappointed with this guy. PBCC is known to have a good math department but he wasn't that great. You write so many notes and then you try to go home and do the hw and you are totally confused. The good thing is he gives partial credit for incorrect answers on your tests.
on the good side he is very organized, does notebook checks on test days, and gives partial credit for wrong answers on tests, HOWEVER, he is horrendously boring, wont let you ask questions, and is quite rude. But as long as you show up to class & do your hw you should do fine in the class--easier than FAU calc so its worth it
A good math professor, not bad at all!!
gives good notes and if you study you shoud get an "A".
Not a good teacher. He is very disorganized and belittes you if you ask a question. His tests are very confusing and his notes and hard to comprehend. A 6 week class with him feels like a 2 week class. Do not take him if you want to learn math. Stay away.
worst math prof i've had at pbcc, the whole class experience is copy off the board and tests, hardly any interaction with students. tests were crazy hard, and half the class dropped, i was shocked i passed the 20 question final which was killer
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!! GIVES A LOT OF NOTES AND HOMEWORK BUT ARE VERY HELPFUL. HE CHECKS NOTEBOOKS ON TEST DAYS AND AFTER A TEST HE HAS A REVIEW DAY WHERE HE GOES OVER YOUR WRONG ANSWERS WITH YOU AND GIVES YOU PARTIAL CREDIT IF YOU SHOWED YOUR WORK I WOULD GET LIKE 15 EXTRA POINTS EACH TEST! TAKE HIM HE IS THE BEST!!!
awesome class. a lot of students didn't like him and made fun of him... but it was honestly really easy. i hate math and i got a's on every test. just go to class, copy the notes, do the hw, and ur fine. hw is study enough and he reviews and gives out extra points after the test. take the class!
Very detailed notes. The homework he assigns is great study guide pretty much same questions on test. gives partial credit for showing work even if answer wrong. as long as you go to class, take the notes and do the HW you will be fine.
WORST MATH TEACHER EVER. HE'S VERY CONFUSING AND HIS TESTS ARE REALLY REALLY CONFUSING. HE GIVES TOO MUCH NOTES. IF YOU MISS A STEP IN HIS LECTURE, YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO HOME BECAUSE YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THAT GUY DOESN'T STOP FOR NOBODY.
Found him to be a great teacher. Lots of notes! But they are step by step and clear. He takes questions most of the time. Homework graded on test days and gives patial credit on tests. Just study and do homework take notes and should have a good grade. Im horrible in math and aced each test.
i think he is a great teacher, he was helpful. he give extra points on the tests.
He is a GREAT professor! Just pay attention and everything will come easy. Sometimes he gets a little to thorough with his explanations but you just have to mentally weed out the useful information from the ongoing real-life examples. I definitely recommend him =] You will get an A.
Excellent teacher, very meticulous, you just have to pay attention and do your homework.
I am not a fan of this professor. He is not very good for those students who have a hard time with math. He only writes notes & fails to elaborate or answer questions in a way that doesn't make you feel dumb. His tests are hard & based on the book which is also hard to just learn by reading. Pick another professor if you can.
this professor gives you good notes to sudy from but you must do your homework and study to do well on the tests.he is a good math teacher.
This professor is very smart but does not know how to teach clearly. He gives you extra points for homework to help the student and he is fair in giving you points for some of your work done on the test, but his not can be very confusing and a lot of times he assumes that the student can read his brain. If you think in taking summer classes -suicide.
I myself am not much of a math person and need a really good teacher to understand and he makes everything very clear. All tests are multiple choice. He lets you know a week in advance when the test will be and spends 1-2 class periods just reviewing for the test. The next class meeting after the test is used to go over test and recieve extra pts.
Good proffesor. He speaks very clearly and goes over everything. Make sure you do your homework and have it ready by each test. The HW grade could mean the difference by a letter grade.
WORST MATH PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he gives lectures that make completely NO sense, he actually makes it more confusing..i had to go home every night and completely re-teach myself every lesson..do not recommend this class unless you like being a teacher for yourself
Absolutely terrible professor. Confusing, frenetic, obsessive-compulsive chalk colors and notebooks. Actually told the class that we had to write notes in same color as the chalk he used on the chalkboard examples. Nightmare--only ten people survived the semester to take the final. Don't take this professor at any cost.
HE IS GREAT! he is always willing to help as long as you ask, explains everything clearly and will go over anything anyone is confused about. highly recommend. i will be taking him again for college algebra. as long as you do the homework and study you will do GREAT!
I really liked him, he is fun, good and very professional, definaly I will him as a professor at any time.
He is a great professor
A great proffesor, I learned so much from his class, if you follow his lecture notes which by the way he explain them really good, you'll do great, highly reccomended
I Highly reccommend this professor. He makes math easily understandable. two thumbs up
Don't take him he is not an easy teacher,he likes to control you as a kid, he doesn't recommend you to go to the lab for help because he thinks that his notes which are so confusing can replace any tutor in the lab He thinks that he is the God of math he has an old way to teach he oblige you to copy and past his notes which are 3 boards 2 times
bad one :(
Worst math teach in the world if your not good in math do not take him his class is not a walk in the park course. Treats everyone in class like a kid he is also arrogant and wack.
I showed up to class every day and took notes/did all homework and still managed to do bad. He makes you keep a notebook with all work. If you have questions from the homework that you didn't understand sometimes he won't answer it. He'll just tell you it's easy and he'll move on. Hard tests, don't take this class if you struggle with math.
i failed inermediate algebra once and dropped it a second time. my third chance it was all or nothing and i feel sooo blessed that i had Prof. Talbei for it. His teaching style is soo clear and on point. he writes examples (soo many) on the board. answer homework questions and gives E.C for showing yur work on test problems. i passed with a B!!!!.
TOTALLY ADVISE ANYONE TO TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. HIS TEACHING STYLE WILL CAUSE YOU TO LEARN. HE ASSIGNS HOMEWORK AND GIVES YOU CREDIT FOR IT. THE LECTURE WILL HELP YOU GET THROUGH. I WILL DEFINITELY TAKE HIM AGAIN.
Don't take this teacher if you need to ask questions, need help,or pass with A or B because he doesn't care about ur money or ur time worst teacher.
Spends way too much time writing on the board rather than explaining things. If he emailed reviews for tests and then spent more time explaining formulas in class I think students would do much better. sorry I took a class with this teacher. Tests are hard.
Best statistics teacher, i had took the class before and didnt pass because i didnt understand anything. Took it again with Professor Talebi and Im passing with an A! I extremely recommend him!
One of the best Prof. at pbsc. if you wanna learn! take him!
He spends to much time writing on the board instead of teaching and seems to take the long way with every example. you MUST go to the mathlab after class just to understant the material. he's not clear when speaking sometimes and makes you not want to attend class at all. if you want to pass, make sure he's the only class you're taking.
This class was the first class I ever withdrew from. H e takes too long writing on th board to explain the problems. He only give about 10-17 questions on each exams so every question counts but he give you a chance earn credit for question you get wrong if you show your work.
This is what this class entails: Prolonged study time followed by disappointment, confusion without clarification, simple requests without consideration. This professor is keen on making sure there are more withdrawals and failures than a's and b's... hard work is not reflective of a good grade in this class, only inherent knowledge of the material
uses a lot of examples but they are helpful when it comes to homework.
For many people his teaching style is normal and somewhat easy. But if you are not the best in math and would like to pass this course, take another professor. i had to wear headphones and zone his voice out and just look at the board to try and get what he was trying to explain to the class.
Hes a good teacher, but you have to MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND to EVERY CLASSS. You have to do your homework. He gives you points for binder checks, everything has to be neat and orginized. He writes A LOT on the board, and you have to go to the math lab if you need help.
I am very good in math and always will be. This teacher is good, if you could pay attention and understand what he teaching every lecture. Not for everyone, chose wisely.
I have taken him twice, once for intermediate alg and for stats. I really mean you should stay away from his class. We got so behind that we hardly had review for the final. I got an A in every other math class besides his. I struggled to pass. Really STAY FAR AWAY!!!
He is a great prof.Answers all questions before start of new lecture. Never puts anyone down or make you feel stupid! He is also quite knowledgeable and friendly. I have already recommended him to several peaple.
I have taken this professor for Intermediate and college algebra, and statistics before and his organization, consistency and enthusiasm for teaching the materials really amazes me. He brings the material to student level and care about people learning. I love the fact that he gives partial credit for our work and answers questions clearly.
At 1st, I didnt like the guy since hes one of those people that puts on a frown & acts like all his students are stupid while he is Mr.Know-It-All. I ignored that feature, though, & realized that he teaches pretty well. He's super organized & writes the class notes on the board of everything he says outloud-literally every single word. Easy class!!
He is very organized and constantly wans us to interact during lectures. With the help of my notebook checks, I managed to raise my grade by a letter. I recommend anyone struggling with math to take him! He also gives partial credit for your work on Tests.
Got A in intermed and college algebra. Love math. Put in 150% effort and still got a D/F on test. Test is theoretical and not like HW so studying is pointless. Extra points for work on tests BUT NOT ON FINAL. He is critical and puts you down for bad grades. Sometimes he gets his own questions wrong. He is nice as a person but not a good teacher.
He is a good guy with good intentions, but I think he was extremely tedious. Gave rude responses most of the times, and unforgiving
He is very picky with the way the assignment, homework and tests are done, like writing problems in pen and answers in pencil. But other than that he was clear cut and straight to the point on the subject of math. Personally I loved his method of teaching.
Wants detailed work. Must right out directions and problems in pen with both notes and homework. Answer is done in pencil. Binder and tests must be detailed. I suggest not to take him unless you catch onto Math quick and can teach yourself. Only gives 1-3 examples then your on your with the Homework.
He is very open to questions inside and outside class and never puts anyone down for even asking simple questions from MAT 1033! I like his organization and how he holds students responsible for the homework. It all pays off at the end, once you cooperate. I strongly recommend this profesor to anyone with weak or strong math background!
I praise this prfessor for 3 things: A lot of patience answering questions, His detailed work and organization and His knowledge of the material and explanations of where in real life all this x y , z are used!
He is EXTREMELY detailed. Does homework checks during every test. Expects it to be done with pen and pencil. Do not miss a class because he has no shame in embarrassing you if you ask questions from the previous class. You need to have have perfect attendance to have a chance at a B. Good teacher overall.
At first I was nervous to take him , because of the commentaries . But when you get to know the guy , he is realy a good teacher . He teaches well , and gives you extra credit . Just do all your homework , copy the noter and do the extra credit and you will be fine , with a A or B
I took Mr. Talebi for Int Algebra, Statistics and College Algebra. Got an A in Int, and Stats, but his tests in Coll Alg were very confusing because he used codes in place of the answer. Very knowledgable. Withdrew from Coll Alg and took it in summer with another prof. and got a B. Talebi is a good teacher overall, but his Coll Alg class is tough.
He is an awesome teacher! He explains everything with details, and he is very organized. If you do the homework, and don't follow behind, you can pass the class with an A !
The best math professor I have ever had!
A great teacher!! His explanation were clear and easy to understand. Statistics is a hard class, and he made it easy with his teaching style. There is lots of homework, but they help you practice the exercises to help you remember it for the exams. PLEASE TAKE HIM; YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
Best math prof I've had. He's a math wiz he knows it in and out. Extremely helpful and explains the material VERY WELL. He is extremely organized and requires you to be as well he even grades u on it and this will literally be the difference of an entire letter grade at end of semester. His notes are very clear and helpful. Take him!
He was OKAY, not the best, half the class dropped , you just have to study the class notes and you will be fine. he will help if you ask. test are multiple choice but dont take that for granted you still have to show work.
Stay FAR away from this professor! His lectures are not useful, and he over explains EVERYTHING. His tests are very long; more than half the class needed extra time afterwards. Me and the people I studied with did the homework multiple times and spent 5+ hours a day in the library studying. He is patronizing and tells you hard questions are "easy".
STAY AWAY!!! Worst math teacher ever. I had to withdraw from his class as did half of the students! I devoted my life to studying for this class everyday and still managed to fail every test. His test were impossible the were multiple choice but that didn't help at all. He's the worst this class will only bring down your gpa.
He is a very organized professor and he expects the same from his students so be prepared to study a lot. Overall, he is easy.
He's a nice guy, but I wouldn't recommend. He wastes lots of time while teaching due to him going off topic. He also tends to confuse his students by randomly teaching us stuff we don't need to know or "from higher level courses." Every time I've asked him for help, he's said the same thing: "it's in your notes." as if i hadn't checked already.
If you're not proficient in math DONT TAKE HIS CLASS. His lectures are hard to understand as he over complicates the lessons and doesn't take into consideration students that are struggling. Talebi has high expectations that can be hard to reach and is an extremely tough grader when it comes to tests. Save yourself the stress and take someone else.
Honestly worst teacher I've had so far, especially for math. Made me kinda hate math and slowly give up on my grade. I honestly do not recommend him unless you are willing to spend time and energy learning things from others or yourself. You either like him or hate him, passing or failing.
Worst professor ever. Would not recommend him to anyone.
He explains everything in detail and encourages questions in class. Very organized and expects the same from you on the homework and on Tests. Gives a lot of chances for extra credit and improving your grade. Finally he is very approachable and personable. I recommend him to any student that is honestly will to do the required work.
I took Professor Talebi for 3 classes: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra and Statistics. He is awesome! If he teaches the Calculus series, I will take him too! He is very fair, organized, knowledgeable, and accessible. I liked his step-by-step teaching style and have recommended him to quite a few of my friends at PBSC.
I failed Statistics last semester & I was terrified of taking it again. This professor really helped me. He writes all his notes on the board with clear examples, unlike other professors who use power point slides & go too fast. He only assigns a few problems each night so its not overwhelming & checks all of them on test day. Highly recommended.
His reviews before tests are very useful. He also gives a lot of partial credit for our work on the tests. I found it a life saver that he bases 12% of our grade on our notebook checks for the homework he regularly assignes. It matters to this professor that your written work be very organized and in detail. I certainly recommend this professor.
Gives LARGE amounts of homework without consideration of other class or work outside of his own. Attendance to every class is mandatory even if he says its not, will call you out on not being in class. Would not take ever again.
Doesnt post grades on blackboard. Teaches like high school class. Will not hesitate to call you out for anything.... missed class due to a work incident and was called out Infront of the entire class and forced to give a reason. Also had to visit family for medical reasons and he required flight and hotel information, total privacy violation.
Over complicated every topic, will get off track easily and is extremely rude with responding to students. Will speak down to you any chance he gets. Be ready to teach yourself the entire class because his lectures will simply confuse you with him going off topic, over complicating, and teaching things from high level courses that arent relevant
Professor Talebi is well organized and seems passionate about what he teaches. He explains difficult concepts well and gives you credit for work shown on tests. His lectures are clear and he provides good examples for the material covered. He is a great and respectable professor and I would definitely recommend taking him.
I took professor Talebi this past Fall 2018 Semester and ended up getting an "A" for the course. He is very knowledgeable, gives great lectures, wants students to succeed, gives partial credit on Tests, collects/grades homework, answers questions in every class from previously assigned homework, and is very organized. I strongly recommend him!
This dude single handedly made me change major. THE WORST. I was a business major until he ruined math for me. I had never struggled with math before him. "i give partial credit on test questions" correct answer but work is a little off. no credit. correct work wrong answer. no credit. He curved the whole class grade when everyone was failing :)
He explained everything in detail so that everyone would understand. No question was too dumb. He give lots of time to do the homework and grades for tests will be shown to us like two classes after the test. Really cares about what he is teaching. Would take again 100%
Textbook is needed for the homework. Graphing Calculator required. Im generally good at math so this class was pretty easy for me. He covers all notes and everything for the test. The homework is usually slightly harder than the tests so I felt more than prepared for the exams. The final is cumulative though so be prepared for that.
I do not recommend you take this class if you are trying to pass. He made me hate math even more. His lectures are very heavy he'll literally use every minute he has. He a very tough grader, gives endless homework, just when you think you're done, yeah right, there's more. "I do not accept late work", so don't even think about asking.
His way or the highway. Lecture heavy. Starts from when the class starts to five minutes after. Doesn't like to answer questions, will tell you to look back at previous notes. GOOD LUCK...
I took professor Talebi both for MAT 1033 and MAC 1105 and I aced both! He is a very detail oriented prof and expects your work to be neat and show all the steps. This has helped me a lot to troubleshoot my errors easier. I am planning to take him for MAC 2233 as well and strongly recommend him to others. He is very knowledgeable.
Do not take this class!! Probably the worst professor I have ever had. He takes points off for "not showing enough work" even if the answer is correct. He is a VERY inconsistent grader and couldn't care less if his students learn or do well in the class. He requires you to keep a binder and grades it often. Also a RIDICULOUS amount of homework.
He is very horrible as a professor and recommend taking any type of math class through him. He makes understanding the concepts very difficult when there is more simpler ways to do and understand it. Its his way or no way and often hard to reach out to especially concerning your grades. DONT TAKE HIM!
Beware, this is a homework heavy class, so it is a must to attend class or else you will be behind the class. He is a very good teacher and respected but the workload is the only downside. And he grades all homework in a collective matter (a total of 3 hw assignments, with 3 tests, and a final). Good teacher but homework oriented.
He wants specific things, homework done a certain way,you have to write a certain way and no shortcuts unless he says so. Homework will be 50 pages then you have test. He takes off marks for everything and will send you rude comments on your homework if u get it wrong. Theres no time to just absorb the lecture because hes always rushing.
Took him online virtually. He lectures and writes notes and you are expected to do the homework and tests according to how he did the notes. You can't go wrong if you do exactly as he did. The tests are graded by partial credit through showing work. Days to complete test at home with notes, and all hw is due with tests.
I swear the good reviews are just him rating himself. The worst teacher at PBSC hands down. You have to do the material the exact way he teaches you or you could get points off. He discourages you from learning how to do a certain concept in your own way that helps you understand better. You have to show work on tests or points off. Don't take him!
He never responds to emails and will randomly mark you absent when you actually attend class.
He is particular about the format of tests and homework that are turned in. He wants the pdf you turn in to fit his computer screen perfectly so he doesn't have to scroll a lot.. I've tried everything to fix the formatting. He failed me on the homework because it didn't fit his screen. Do yourself a favor and save your stress. Don't take his class.
no lockdown browser, homework is due day of test, a lot of work but he grades on a huge curve and is extremely helpful! don't miss class and you'll be fine
Lots of homework
very kind hearted teacher understanding and helpful but lots of homework
Took this prof in '19 and didnt rate then He was my first math prof after high school and I didnt pass his class His lectures are entire class long He doesnt like explaining things twice He erases the whtebord almost as soon as he finshes what he writes Took 1033 with another prof and passed with an A Dont take him 10/25 students passed inmy class
Best professor ever.
Loved that teacher, I agree that he gives a lot of homework and he makes you write a lot when you are in person class, but you know what? All the tests are to be done at home, he gives you 4-5 days to complete them, his lectures are very clear and very easy to understand. I am not good at maths at all, but he gave you a lot of chances to succeed.
This professor is a joke. I'm so glad I swapped classes & was able to get a much better one. He is rude despite messaging him politely and forces you to do assignments his specific way or else you'll lose points. He also forces you to print out all of the tests & then to do them & scan them into a PDF in order to submit it for a grade.

He also forces you to print out ALL of the tests which are pages long & then scan them into a PDF in order to submit it for a grade.
Genuinely one of the worst professors I've ever taken. Don't let the lack of Lockdown Browser fool you, because he will require you to hand write all of the homework and tests and scan them with not only showing your work, but making sure that it is the SAME kind of work that he shows in the notes, and they don't always make sense!!!
This class is super easy and straightfoward, everything that is expected is very clear. No lockdown browser, multiple days to do tests, and he goes over each type of question that will be on the test step by step showing you how to do the questions. All you have to do to pass the class is rewatch the lectures while you do the questions for hw/tests
He makes you write out homework and it has to be done his way. Same with tests. You must write everything out his way, so if you think watching online help videos on calculus is going to be beneficial, you better be prepared for your grade to tank hard, even if the process you used and the answer was correct. Easily the most stubborn prof
I really should have read this page before taking him. Everything about him being stubborn is true and his grading criteria is really strict. He is also not very communicative. I sent him at least 10 emails within the past month and no response about my concerns. DO NOT TAKE!
His way or the highway is his philosophy. Do not take this class
Professor is a tough one but hes like that to make his students better. He lets you do the homework and tests at home and gives you a couple of days to do them. Before every tests he will have you turn in the homework via pdf using CamScanner, which is easy once you get the hang of it. He does give extra credit at the end. A kind and funny person.
Inconsistent grading, poor teaching, lessons are difficult to understand. Save yourself the headache and seek another professor.
Massoud Talebi has a very specific teaching style. While it can be challenging, engaging with his methods and using study tools like unstuck AI can be helpful. Be prepared to write extensively for homework and exams.
His way of grading is very strict, all assignments and tests have to be handwritten with the procedure exactly the way he likes it. He never responds to the emails you send him.
I feel that the professor is okay. lf you don't follow his teachings and his work to the T, then you get points taken off. Doesn't matter if the answer is correct or not. He gives a lot of time to complete the work and gives a few days to take the test, but if you procrastinate it will catch up and bite you, so don't wait until last minute.
Be prepared to not talk to anyone in class. He doesn't let anyone do any problems together and makes people leave one by one. Constantly have to wait when he's writing on the board since he covers it and always makes mistakes. Assigns 4 homeworks a week with numerous questions and terrible feedback along with tests. Wants every detail to be his way
this is the most honest rating HW: there is plenty of time to be done, but don't leave it to the last minute or it will bite you test: all you need is his review and you can get an easy A just follow his instructions, He is really stubborn about things being done his way so follow his review
In my opinion, his lectures were very helpful, and I recommend writing along with him to fully understand. He assigns a lot of homework, so if you can't keep up with homework, I don't recommend him. When tests are given, you have a few days to complete them, but he wants them done his way, or it's considered wrong. The material itself was easy.
He was passive aggressive and very dismissive of any concerns brought to his attention by students. Assigns a TON of homework, very unorganized and old school
Dont do it to yourself. Material is fine structure of class is not
I was placed in this course last minute and didn't have time to research it. The class is hard, and he makes it even harder. He is particular, and if your work doesn't match his exactly, he'll deduct points. The best part is, he mocks students in the canvas comments when grading. Rumor is he's been reported to the Dean many times to no avail.
He is not good at teaching. He give you examples in the lecture and assigned multiple questions every lecture. He gives yiu until test day to turn it in but doesn't grade it so you don't know if you're doing anything correct for the test. Thank God for SLC.
The professor explains the material very clearly step-by-step and expects the same from us on homework and on tests. If we are consistent, we benefit the most from his system of teaching. He reviews before every test and gives partial credit plus detailed feedback for each question.I will take more classes with him in the future as I like his system
Despite assigning homework regularly, he takes time to present examples of similar type in every lecture and invites student participation. I like his lecturing and grading methods although many students think he requires too much writing. He stresses good organizational skills and clear written communication in problem solving.
This was my first college math course and this professor made learning math so easy and down to my level in every class and let us ask questions. I am encouraged to take more math courses with him as he explains every detail very clearly and cares about the quality of our work. I already recommended him to a few of my friends.
I have already taken him for MAC 1105, MAT 1033C and STA 2023. His teaching methods are awesome and his expectations from students are very clear. His tests are consistent with the reviews he does before each test and if you show sufficient work, you get an A! I was also impressed by his presentation during Math Awareness Week on Engineering topic
If you struggle with math don't take this professor. However if math is one of your fav topics he is great. He does make the work harder then it already is, so if he does it during the lecture you need to do it on the test. You have to scan all your written homework from the textbook and upload it. Homework every class but due when you take test.
just super old school and honestly hard to follow along, he gets upset that no one answers his questions but everyone is just confused
A mentally retarded person who throws tantrums over small things. Do not take him. He needs to seek therapy first before teaching.
This professor has a great teaching method. However, I do not feel comfortable asking for help because he doesn't actually break it down to help u, and he speaks over you when you're trying to explain. Next, there is SO MUCH homework. Each problem is almost a page long because of how meticulous he is. If it's not done his way, it's wrong.
I understand why this professor has mixed reviews because his teaching method is very old school and he's not too friendly.. But Tbh class was easy his very straight forward just follow his way off doing it and you''ll pass. He does nit pick about grading for example the for the test you must show your work his way or he'll take points off
Great prof., just gives out hella hwork and talks a lot as if you don't have anything else to do outside of his class. Not due immediately but DON'T let it pile up. Tests/Hw follows lectures/notes exactly, no confusion and he reviews prior. U usually have 3-4 days to take the test at home, not proctored or anything. I wouldn't take him again tho!
