If you can get out of this class, do it. The most boring class I've ever taken. He rambles on about nothing, mumbles too much and has TONS of notes. Tests are hard, most of the questions have very little to do with what you have in your notes, it's all a guessing game. If you must take this class, good luck staying awake.
I dropped this guy after the first class. He is very hard to understand, and requires alot just from looking at the syllabus. If you can take another prof. do it.
Prof is not on student level. He doesn't have easy ways of explaining his extensive knowledge for the students to understand. Tests are way too long for 50 min class.
This guy isn't that bad. Yes he does ramble on but he's not that hard to understand, and I think he does simplify his lectures considerably. However, he's not the best professor. I'd give him an overall 6 out of 10.
so boring, lebosse is so boring and hard to understand. straight lecture the entire 50 minutes and he sweats perfusely. i advise you to seek out another professor.
Extremely knowledgeable professor. He doesn't ask anything unreasonable of students. Very willing to help students who care about the class. Would recommend him for any student who takes school seriously, and is eager to excel.
DO NOT TAKE!!!! TESTS ARE WAY TO LONG FOR CLASS, HE KEEPS YOU PAST TIME.... AND EVEN MORE YOU CAN NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD HE SAYS! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Dr. LeBosse is not hard to understand at all. In fact, he has hardly any accent and his English is excellent. Great teacher and a very nice man.
This guy is a ****. He doesn't explain to you when you have aquestion, and he takes forever and a day to hand back papers and tests. His tests are way too long for an Intro course, and he goes into details about stupid****. take another professor if you can
what to say about him... boring.. he lectures for the full hour and twenty minutes... his tests aren't too bad as long as you study.. he's not too bad but pretty boring
If you are serious about college, he's a good professor. If you are an inmature kid just out of high school, you won't like him. Lectures may seem boring but when he asks for the class to interact, hardly anyone raises their hands. Easy tests! Quizzes are easy and help you catch up if you have low grades and he's always willing to help students!
BORING LECTURES. I've gone to every class and everytime I start to do the head nodd. His french accent sucks! Hate his class. Gives a ton of notes but map quizes are easy. Be careful!
this teacher is very boring. tests are hard. you have to READ the book to pass. you have to memorize just about every page of the book and lecture notes and you'll be fine. dont' recommend.
he knows way to much and tries to incorporate it all into his lectures. the class is boring and he expects way to much out of the students. he rambles on forever in lectures.seems to forget its just a gen. ed. class.
Nice man. Gives very complete lectures, however,it is a class that you only need to read and know the text to do well. Still go to class though b/c his lectures provide reinforcement and he grades on attendence.Accent is not a problem. Speaks very well.Great professor all around, but he doesn't hand you your grade. Read and you'll do fine.
He gives map quizzes which aren't too bad, and a few papers, but his tests just aren't fair. I am a senior and out of all my professors this is the only one who covered way too much material for one test. He needs to break up the material more and not have so much information. He should give mini quizzes instead to break it up.
I wouldn't recommend him because he does forget it is an INTRO class. His lectures are boring... map quizzes are easy. His tests are confusing... need to memorize the textbook. He does get upset because more people aren't interested in his course. Don't take him!
He is the worst prof ever he takes like 2 hours to answer questions and his answers never make sense. I advise taking another professor if possible.
Tough professor. Unclear most times, monotone lectures, poor notes, holds class all period, which is tough since he loses the class interest 10 minutes into the class. Exams and quizes do have study guides, but offers questions on them that do not have a single definitive answer, and can not back up why the answer chosen is correct. not recommended
this professor sucks. his has an accent but he is okay to understand. he keeps you the entire class sometimes even over the class period which is so annoying. he takes forever to grade things & his notes suck. his tests are hard but he had a curve which helped alot. over all he is not very nice at all. i would def not recommend to take him EVER!
this class is horrible!! the tests are almost impossible, unless you devote your life to geography. also, he has a thick accent so its hard to understand him. the only reason why i took him was because it was required, but he definitely made me want to fall asleep everyday. if you need geography, go with a different prof.
I don't know what those people's deal was, but I liked this prof. He knows his stuff and his lectures were pretty straight forward and interesting enough for an intro class. I thought his tests were exceedingly easy. Of course, I am a Geography major, but I still think he's a good prof generally.
Brilliant professor. I have no interest in geography at all, but I really enjoyed this class. LeBosse is such a nice and caring man, and he really wants you to do well in his class. Contrary to previous ratings, his accent is not a problem - it's one of the clearest that I've heard in comparison to other profs at KU.
Very easy going professor, lots of slides, always there to help, he does not have a thick accent I could understand him perfectly. A definite professor to take for intro Geg 040 or Geg 140
Very approachable and easy to follow lectures. I really enjoyed this class!
What is wrong with some of you people? For Le Bosse, 85 is an A, 75 is a B and 65 is a C. He curves each test a few points and 10 percent of your grade is based on attendance. If you received anything less than a B from Le Bosse, then you didn't put in any effort. His accent is not a problem.
Very nice teacher, and very helpful. You could tell he is very interested in what he teaches. His tests are easy and he curves a lot. I got a high A in his class. If you come to class and do the assignments, you can get a B, or even an A.
I thought I did terribly in this class and got a B for the semester. He makes it so easy and his accent is HOT.
He is generally a pretty good professor. His biggest drawback is that he is very wordy in explaining things, which makes simple things sound more complicated than they are. Pretty pictures on the power-points. Once or twice I saw him get irate at students but not to severe. He has a nervous disposition. It's not hard to get a good grade in this cls
Worst part of the class is the professors wordiness and boring lectures. His exams are based on a book written by his college professor...therefore he relies on the text way too much. His lectures hardly consist of the needed knowledge, but rather an exorbant amount of pictures from Europe. Overall not a bad class, interesting, but still boring
hes french(that should say it all)..he cant speak english..his tests are confusing...no matter how hard i studied and got the definitions down pat for some reason his test were always hard...me and my friends barely ever did well.
I seriously think I'm in love with this man. He's so handsome and so smart, and the nicest guy you will ever meet. just do your work and don't talk in his class and he'll be really nice to you.
Has the amazing power of talking about nothing for 90 minutes, this class is easy but hes kind of annoying because he goes on about trivial info. He also doesnt get to the point when you ask a question so dont bother trying. Also relates everything to France and how "productive" they are.
He's a great guy. Though he tends to be a little long winded, he usually makes things clear. He can be a bit harsh at times, but he means well.
The classes were boring. The tests were impossible. But he gives really good curves so it makes up for it. He is a nice guy though. Very eager to help.
One of my favorites professors at KU. I got a B on all three tests, but he gave me an A for the course because I never missed class and did all the homework. For Le Bosse, 85 is an A and 75 is a B and he curves the tests. He says attendance counts for 10 percent of your grade, but I think it is more than that. I was expecting a B from him.
A really nice guy who really knows his stuff. It was THE MOST boring class ever, and you take a buttload of notes.Homework assignments can be looked up in the book, but take forever and are about 60 questions each.Requires alot of work, but is a realatively good class if you can stand a 90 mintue class where he just rambles.
Enthusiastic, loves his subject. If you're not too lazy to do the work, you'll do fine. Very helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. Cute French accent.
BORING...
I heart Prof LeBosse forever! I dont need this class I took it just because he was teaching it! There is alot of material covered but he knows his stuff. He gets so excited about the subject its too adorable
This is guy is the man...ya he's french...ya he gives work...and ya his tests are hard...but he curves everything and he says phenomenea like a hundred times a class it's hilarious...def take him it's easy to get an a or a b
Goes way too fast in class, even after he was asked to slow down by several students. Does give quizes or exams based on the study guides he gives out- gives them on in-depth material that was not studied in class. Alright person, hardly any homework but the tests might bring your grade down.
definitely the most boring, uninteresting class. he is by far the worst professor i have ever had. his expectations for an intro course are too high. don't get caught doing work in his class or he'll make a big scene and kick you out
extremely boring teacher...alwasy taught off the power point never differed from what was writen. He was also always late for class and always extended the class time at the end
Le Bosse is an amazing teacher--and he gets better looking every class. He tries to spice it up every once and a while, the notes can be a little blase at times but he is so handsome, who cares? I have him for a night class...i recommend it. his accent is relaxing at the end of a long day!
I thin he is a good professor5 but is a litle long winded sometimes. I just want the man to shut up but so far he seems like a godd professor
Absolutly Terrible teacher! Mean to the students and the tests are too long! Can't understand his accent....bad bad teacher!!!! NOt an easy class!
hes an okay teacher. all he does is read off his powerpoint. his tests are off the notes and the book. he has map quizes and book reading assignments, they really help your grade if you haven't done well on the tests. his grading is cool too, a 85 is an A and a 75 is a B.
Very nice guy but powerpoint lectures are very boring and put you to sleep.
go to his office hours a few times and get to know him then he will LOVE you...an 85 is an A and i dont think it was that hard...study for tests and read the book...nice guy...but his powerpoint lectures can be boring...always go to class tho and stay the whole time bc sometimes he'll give you EC for doing so
Very good professor. Makes you work, but his grading is very liberal. Read the book, do the assignments on time, and attend class. We are here to learn, no? Not being American born makes his perspective priceless. Uses powerpoint and film clips. If you don't ask questions it can be a bit boring for those who don't care about learning.
great guy, very talkative, but knew his stuff, we had a huge class and he took the time to know all the students that took the time to come.attendance is mandatory and worth it in the end, powerpoints are boring but he talks fast. love the soft voice. cares about your success
I recommend him for an easy A. Class can be boring though. He spends too much time on simple things.
He starts class earlier than he's supposed to... he teaches as you're walking out the door because you'll be late for your next class. His study guides are worthless. He's cocky and discriminates. The worst class I have ever taken! Avoid it at all costs... unless you want to spend 8 weeks on Latin America when you're already 4 chapters behind!
Great guy very easy class if you study for a little bit. You need the text. He may seem cocky but he's really just trying to help. His french accent leads to quite a few funny moments each class. I took him for a 3 hour class and he uses every minute other than the 10 minute break. If you like geography and havent take a course before take this one
BORING BRING A LAPTOP WITH GAMES TEST ARE HARD MAKE SURE YOU STUDY AND DO THE READINGS LECTURES ARE HORRIBLE
The only way you learn anything in his class is from the outside assignments he gives which arent easy. The lectures are pretty boring and you dont get very much out of them.
Not really sure of the purpose of the map quizes. they dont have anything to do with the class... it just seems like more busy work for an already boring class. avoid it if you can
Really knows his stuff. Seems like a really approachable guy...his accent isn't a bad thing either makes class more fun! Make sure you go to class and study for tests and you'll do fine :D
Easy, but INCREDIBLY boring
LeBosse knows what he's talking about, but he can be very boring to listen to. If you have a hard time staying awake in classes, this man is not the one to take. But I have to say, the material is very easy to follow and remember. I've never had to do the readings all the way through. Just do his take-home tests and review material and you'll pass.
Really nice guy! Loves to help his students and will meet with you to discuss any problems you may be having. Has a French accent so he's fun to listen to...He hands out sign in sheets, so you need to go to class. In GEG 101, he didn't have map tests, but he may be changing that..I'd take him again if I need another GEG class!
i hated this teacher! he was so rude and does not listen to anyone, and if you go to his office hours he will still not help you, do not take him
If you take this class do not take the hour-twenty class. You will not want to sit there the whole time. Homework counts more than quizzes. Tests are hard. LeBosse is not funny, he's boring. I wouldn't take this class if I were you.
He is a good prof. but dont take him early. had a 9:30 am with him and was falling asleep the whole time. :)
hard. stupid map quizzes.
he was the absolute worst teacher ever doesn't know how to interact with the class at all is so strict with attendance and hates when people get up to go to the bathroom or when the class starts putting stuff away likes 2 minutes before the class which at that point he is still talking about whatever random topic he is on very ignorant donttakehim
awful. class is very boring and hes very rude to his students. all he does is read slides all class. attendance is mandatory, you lose 20 points every class you miss.
He is a really rude teacher, and will call you out in front of the whole class if you are doing something wrong. Also, his tests are hard. He is very boring, and I cant stand his accent. I would advise NOT to take him. You will want to die.
His accent is adorable. Do the study guides, study a little for map quizzes and you'll do fine. Tests are kinda hard, but nothing majorly bad. Study a bit and do decent on them and you should get an A. Participate at least a little and take pretty good notes. I suggest a study partner.
Horrible professor. Very rude to students and full of himself. Treats students like they are stupid. Likes to here himself talk, talks on same topic for 30+ minutes. Attendance is mandatory, hates when people get up to use the bathroom. I didn't learn anything from this rude Frenchmen. I recommend not taking him, do yourself a favor, he is terrible
nice guy, but incredibly boring. he does more rambling than anything else and gets side tracked very easily. assignments are decent, but tests and quizzes are difficult. only take him if you need to.
Horrible professor. Very rude to students and full of himself. Treats students like they are stupid. Likes to hear himself talk, talks on same topic for 30+ minutes. Attendance is mandatory, hates when people get up to use the bathroom. I didn't learn anything from this rude Frenchmen. I recommend not taking him, do yourself a favor, he is terrible
Le Bosse is a very nice man. The students who complain PROBABLY weren't paying attention. He doesn't like when people are rude (texting/talking while he is lecturing)..but who does enjoy being disrespected? If you study for the tests and do the 3 assignments that he gives, carefully, you'll do fine! He is very intelligent and in general a nice man!
Impossible to understand. Reminds me of a high school teacher from another country.. or planet. Tests are very difficult because it is hard to pay attention to him.
Frustrating. This professor was very difficult to follow. He didn't make it clear as to what you should be studying. At times he was rude. Also, he would just ramble 90% of each class.
Le Bosse is willing to go out of his way so the students succeed, however his study guides don't reflect the exams. Map quizzes are east, reading assigments are very difficult, and hard to find the answers. Overall, he is quarky with an interesting accent, but VERY boring. Take another professor if you can.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. He is rude, he treats you like you are an idiot, he teaches you everything BUT what the tests are on. Attendance is MANDATORY, if you miss a class...he deducts it from your final grade. Make sure never to go to the bathroom in his class.... DO NOT TAKE HIM.
This Prof means well but can be very challenging. I recommend reading the book. He can be hard to understand at times but if you get to know him and go to class he will change your grade to your benefit. Also I recomend taking the book assignments seriously because they helped my grade alot. He curves your final grade a 75 is = to a B
Oh boy, he's good looking and he knows it. Once you see past his outer ego he's actually a nice guy, and enjoys getting to know his students. However he does ramble, I have to agree with the person who said he talks about the same thing for 30 minutes and you still don't know what he was trying to get at. Good guy, iffy professor.
His name is LE BOSSÉ lol. And he really isn't bad. All you need to do is to do your work. You're in college now. He recognizes this and sets the bar accordingly. If you can't handle studying extensively, why are you in school?
Professor LeBosse was not hard at all. He gave you plenty of opportunities to earn points with take home assignments and map quizzes and attendance. Also his grading system is better than other classes. An 85 was an A! Show up, take notes and read chapters and you will do well! He was never rude unless you are disrespectful.
Dull class lectures, map quizzes that don't deal with ANYTHING you're doing..just stupid busy work, does curve your grade which is a major plus considering you don't learn ANYTHING through his class ramblings. avoid at all costs, seriously, unless you want to do a crap ton of reading outside of class aka teach yourself.
Great proffessor. He really knows his material and is obviously engaged. I had him for two classes the same semester, and since they were similar, some of the material would overlap, however it still seemed interesting since he was so interested in the topic. His tests can be challenging, so you should study, but I would definitely recommend him!
Nice guy, but boring lectures. Monotone powerpoints. Very hard to pay attention for a 3 hr class. He gives homework that prepares you for the test which is nice, however, some of his test answers are tricky and oddly worded. Takes attendance regularly but doesn't demand participation. Highly recommended you keep up with the book for tests.
I thought this class would be a total bore, but it is actually interesting if you pay attention. He is kinda cute in a European way, and he seems helpful so far. I think he gets a bad rap because it's a mandatory gen ed. Quit complaining, show up and do the work. It isn't hard.
He means well, but the material and his lectures are beyond boring. Attendance is a must, he passes around a sign in sheet almost every class. His grading system is great though, an 85 is an A! Buy the book, you will use it for the reading assignments which are worth a lot and can really help your grade. Take someone else if you have a choice.
i struggled a lot in this course. there werent many opportunities to boost your grade if you did poorly on an exam. I went to him for help- but left feeling the same. He was a nice professor, but terribly challenging if your not all about geography.
He is the worst prof i ever had at KU. He is scattered and arrogant. In the upper level courses he has you do a lot of essays, lots of essays in his exams too. In the upper level course you end up using the books a lot as sources. His makes schedules and never sticks to them.
He does know what her is talking about but I feel like he doesnt understand that we have not taken this class before. When he gives us homework assignments he uses different terminlogy so you cant find any of the answers also he get extremely angry when you leave class or yells at people about other kids not showing up, which they are not even ther
Avoid this professor if possible. His tests have absolutely nothing to do with lectures. The tests are directly from a testbank and the questions include detailed statistics that no one would remember of 150 pages of reading. I go to all the classes but why take attendance when the lectures have nothing to do with the material we are tested on.
Hard to understand and NEVER sticks to the schedule. We were about eight weeks behind by the end of the semester because of HIM. He moves so slow in his lectures because he rambles on and on. You will use the textbook only for the reading assignments, which helps your grade significantly.
Dr Lebosse is a good professor, he is fair and respectful to his students. He does have an accent, but is not hard to understand. in my opinion He speaks very elequantly. He has a passion for what he teaches and it shows in his delivery. He could be quite funny at times. He does care about his student's grades/performance. Kudos Dr. LeBosse!!
Yes he is French, but the accent isn't even noticeable. If you cant understand him, get your ears checked. VERY strict on attendance; will help your grade in the end. He does ramble on sometimes but never for to long, and his tests and homework CAN be brutal. Study a decent amount and you will be well rewarded, as you should be in college. Simple.
His accent is nice. Run, run fast and hard and dont look back. Horrible teacher. His own words "I teach this like a 2-300 level course" More like a graduate course highspeed! Many weeks behind, too much information for him to cover, lectures are pointless to attend. Too much information. Text is not clear with concise definitions etc. RUN!!!!
Dr. Le Bosse is nice but he has a french accent. This can make it difficult for some people to understand. He is very smart and knows alot. classes drag out though and he often gets off track. Tests are difficult and are based on the book. Dont expect to have graded work returned in time. Class attendence is a major part of the grade.
I had him for Cultural Geography this class is well known for being interesting and stimulating. Unfortunately, I found his lectures dry. He is often incorrect in things he mentions along with questions on his own assignments. Tests are hard because of his language barrier. He often miss uses words. If asked what is meant he refuses to answer.
As a professor, he is terrible. I had him for cultural geography. He was so dry & boring & he was hard to understand because he rambles. His tests are very difficult. Attendance is mandatory, but people that stayed the whole time don't get any benefits because people who didn't stay did better than I did. Overall, he's not a good professor.
Awful! Don't ever take him or his class. very boring... he goes off topic all the time and his test are near impossible no matter how much you study for them.
Worst professor I have ever taken hands down!! Not helpful at all, when I would ask questions, he would refuse to answer. Once I saw a mistake on the test and he refused to aknowlege it. Just don't take him!!
Nice guy but literally the most boring class of my entire life. Not a single one of us looked forward to going to class.. dreaded it actually. Do not take him.
Prof Lebosse is a great professor. That he has an accent only means that he can speak more languages than most people. You will understand him IF you want to unedrstand him!He is very helpfful and understanding. He has high expectations of his students which is a ver good quality for a teacher.
He is a very nice guy, but horrible at teaching. I started the class thinking that I was going to love it, but I actually hate it now. He is boring, and goes off topic a lot. You can study for hours and still fail all of his exams, in fact, most of my class is failing his class in general. Do not take him, you will regret it, trust me.
Not a very good professor. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Exams are very hard, must study very hard to get atleast a C. Map quizzes are easy points though. So study for them! His accent isn't too bad, but the class is so boring. He posts all notes online before the exam so there is really no point in even going
horrible teacher. the things we went over in class were not even in the tests. just read the book and hope for the best. and with the map quizzes dont wait until the last minute to study the map. i thought the people on here were exaggerating when they said he was a bad professor, but they were right!
interesting subject, but his grading is off. In his response paper he grades you based onwhat he expected in HIS mind when responses are based on our understanding and application of the material. many times you answer what he asks for and he wants more and so he takes points off. Know book def. hell find a way to take points off.
LeBosse is passionate about Geography but expects too much from you on the tests. His Online Assignments are easy but long. Would not recommend anyone for this class unless it is mandatory. Also hard to understand him at times.
The worst teacher I've ever had. I couldnt understand a single word that came out of his mouth and he is very rude to his students. Definitely not taking a class with him again.
How he talks is very confusing. He doesn't pronounce words clearly. Tests are worded weird and very hard. No electronics are allowed in class aka computers.
This guy is super tough. The only reason you should ever take it is if you NEED to. I thought topic was interesting but lots of material. MUST read the book (which he wrote himself) to be prepared for his tests. Has map quizzes, those are easy points compared to his tests. Interesting topics for papers but is a tough grader when it comes to it.
One of the worst professors I have ever had do not take his class it will kill your GPA
Awful prof. tests are needlessly complicated, and very hard to understand the way he words questions. Map quizes are impossible. Ask him to explain a question and he yells in front of the whole class. lectures do not relate to the tests. Go to he bathroom or use your phone and he screams. horrible professor take with someone else if possible.
Dr. le Bosse is a great teacher if you pay attention. He's easy to understand and is very straight-forward. Lectures are interesting; he definitely knows what he's talking about. I definitely would take him again.
Dr. Le Bosse is a terrible professor. He rambles on and it is hard to understand some words he says. The map quizzes are impossible, and the way he words things on tests is ridiculously complicated and it just confuses things. He is very passionate about what he is teaching, but is not open to questions on the subject. I would not recommend him.
His accent makes him very hard to understand. He takes attendance every class so make sure you show up. His lectures are so boring because he talks nonstop, so the class feels like forever. You take so many notes off his endless powerpoints. And don't text in class or else he will call you out. Avoid if possible.
I literally studied so hard for his class and took as many notes as possible, but he has a thick french accent so he is hard to understand, and he also talks very quickly. he rambles on about things that are not even on exams, so it is very easy to get distracted and off topic.
I used to like geography, then I took this class and now hearing the word makes me want to roll my eyes.
I do not recommend taking this class. His lectures pretty much consist of him talking very fast the whole time. You need the book in order to pass the tests and he takes attendance every class. The class always felt very long and the lectures were so boring. Avoid taking him if you can.
worst teacher ever. do not take him, he is terrible. he yells at you for getting up for anything, even if its the bathroom. His accent made me want to rip my ears off.
Smart guy. However, not best teacher. Not terrible, I have had much worst but he rambles a lot and gets off topic. Don't take him if you can avoid it.
Avoid taking this class at all costs. He made an hour and 20 minute class feel like 4 hours. His lectures had nothing to do with the text and the test were solely based on the text so you have to teach yourself the whole semester. His accent is very heavy and he paces around the room a lot, it becomes distracting.
Do not take this class! He is an awful professor. He never stays on topic. On the first day while we were supposed to be going over the syllabus, he talked about the cold war the whole time. His exams are very hard because you don't know what his lectures are really about because he rambles. I never want to hear the word geography ever again.
His exams have very little to do with what we discussed in lecture or even in the reading assignments for that matter. Also, for our final he stated it would not be cumulative; however, on the final review sheet he states to know the entire world map and also everything covered from the first 2 exams of the semester, so it is cumulative.
Dr. le Bosse's class is not very difficult if you put in effort. I payed attention in class, wrote down everything from the power points, did the readings, and I got an A. Dr. le Bosse himself is a very nice professor. He's very intelligent, and he knows his field well. Also, an A starts at an 85%, which I think makes his classes even easier.
GREAT PROF
Not an easy A but he is very understanding and laid back. Also flexible and willing to help
This guy was infuriating. Adored geography classes up until now, & it is my last year here. Lectures boring & feels like he talks about nothing. No electronics, even though some of us take better notes while typing. Grading scale is French too I guess because an 85% is an A. He rounds a lot cuz kids keep failing. Maybe he should look into that.
Great professor !!! He is very lecture heavy and his lectures can get very boring but write down everything his slides say and do the few things he asks of and you will pass. The map quizzes were the hardest part (in my opinion). He is very caring and very knowledgeable. His accent is heavy but it is easy to get used to and you will learn a lot!
I have no idea why this guy has such a bad review. His class is very easy if you go to class and pay attention to what he's talking about. Everyone keeps saying he goes very off topic but if you actually pay attention to what he's saying he's explaining how it has to do with the subject he's talking about
Do not take this guy's class. He makes his exams and take home assignments WAY to long and hard. Every one is at least 60 questions, all multiple choice, and have about 5 full sentence possible answers with only about one word being different in each one. Anyone that tells you they got an A or a B in his class is lying
He goes on tangents often and the only information you really need for the test are in the slides which he doesn't post until a few days before the exam. Be prepared to study for the map quizzes, not all the info you study will be on the quiz but its better to know as much as possible, though it might not seem worth it for 30 points.
Professor Le Bosse is really awesome. Ive read reviews on here that say otherwise and im not sure why because he really is a good professor and you can tell he cares for his students. He makes sure that the material is covered well before moving on. Im not the best of students but I get high 80's on his exams everytime which on his scale is an A.
I loved having him as my professor this semester! He helped me when I stayed after class for any extra help and he was always willing to help and offered office hours if I needed. Such a great and caring guy and his exams were not that hard!
I found that this class was ridiculously boring to be in. For tests he gives a study guide with key concepts which barely helps because of how specific exams are. I just found his tests challenging and I always went to class. I would not recommend this class. The plus side is that his grading is within 15s so an 85+ is an A.
This may have been the biggest waste of time I have ever experienced. I retained none of the information that he gave to us because his class is so boring. He shows so many maps and rants on and on about each one. Then, when he actually gets to what we are supposed to be talking about, he skips through it so fast. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
He is a very smart professor that knows what he is talking about but he goes off on tangents a lot which makes the lectures kind of boring. He gives you map quizzes that you HAVE to study for but the text book reading assignments are not bad at all. They are just slightly long. His tests are directly from the notes thought with little application.
He is a good guy and knows his stuff however his lectures seem to last forever. It's very hard to stay awake in lecture but as long as you show up and pay attention you will pass the exams without a huge need to study. You do have to study for the map quizzes though or you won't pass them.
Professor Le Bosse lectures are soooo boring and the exams were extremely hard. Gives lots of map quizzes which are easy but the exams are like 60 questions in 60 minutes and there is no time to finish them.
Dr. Le Bosse is extremely friendly and made the most of the online Zoom semester we had due to COVID-19. He answered emails fairly quickly, helped me out when I accidentally submitted my final exam after only completing 10 questions, and always had a smile on his face. I learned a lot from him.
He is kinda tough if you do miss a class you will be able to go on D2L for the power points to see what you have missed in class
Hes an honest man with good intentions but his lectures are literally a lullaby. I had this class too early and skipped a lot which didnt help my attendance grade. Unless youre majoring in geography the information is hard to retain. All assignments and tests are online, so if you have Socratic and dont need the material, easy money.
Does not do + or - for grades; either an A or B, etc. Boring lectures; talked for like 20 minutes ab how to take an online map quiz. Attendance is a vital part of the grade it's easy to skip bc it's boring. Exams were fairly easy but can be time sensitive. He's pretty understanding with situations, but not if it's more than once.
You don't really need to read the textbook. The tests are pretty easy so long as you either attend class or read the notes (preferably both as attendance is graded). He's pretty understanding and is very kind, but in the nicest way possible his class can be kind of boring. His accent is easy to understand in case that matters to anyone.
have to write papers that i know barely anything about, only have as many minutes as questions on tests/ quizzes. very specific/ confusing with the way some things need to be done in papers and tests. not clear on instructions, thinks everyone can do everything perfectly, and when grades are bad, he doesn't know why
So horrible. His lectures usually don't even pertain to the material on the exams and papers. He is a very tough grader, he gave me amazing feedback on my papers yet graded them below a B. Sometimes hard to understand and just lectures the whole class. The worst thing of all, HE NEVER RESPONDS TO EMAILS.
Not a difficult class by any means, just as long as you take notes during class, and more importantly, just show up. Nice person but can be difficult with tests/grading policies. As long as you put in the work necessary (which isn't a lot), you'll get an A, which in his class is anything above an 85%
Class was very easy and straightforward, just do the bare minimum of paying attention in class and showing up. Participation is easy since he is very sociable. He grades you on very few things, and what he DOES grade you on is not hard to do at all.
Prof Le Bosse's lectures can be a bit dry, but if you attend and review the notes, you'll do well. The tests aren't too tough, and unstuck study was a lifesaver for map quiz prep. Overall, a manageable class if you stay engaged.
Great guy, don't get me wrong, but his lectures are BORING. The only reason my rating is so high is because every test and homework assignment is online instead of in person. Lectures are boring and easy to skip, but u should still go because attendance does matter, unfortunately. His accent is easy to understand if that matters to anyone.
had him for a FYS class and it was the most boring class I have ever taken. He just talked and talked about random things the whole time, and I was scrolling on my phone the full hr i had him. He also assigned so many assignments and took forever to grade them. Never had the opportunity to bring my grade up because he graded last minute
Worst prof i've had at kutztown. lectures don't make sense and he rambles about personal issues. slides he shows legit never pertain to the quizzes n exams. also has the weirdest grading system. wouldn't even give feedback on my work. worst thing? he literally never responds to emails or looks and is so hard to get a hold of. he forgets things too.
Slightly boring class and teaching style, but very nice
I took one of his classes before and now I'm in a second class of his. His lectures can be a bit boring sometimes I won't deny that. However, he a very nice and caring professor and is super understanding. He outlines assignments and tests very clearly with what you have to do so the class is not confusing at all.
I refuse to take this prof again. I wish I could, but nothing good to say. No communication, rough lectures, lots of confusing assignments, weird grading, and forgets things.
His classes are very boring but assignments, quiz, and tests are very easy. He does take attendence and counts them towards your grade at the end of the semseter. He also followes the sybullus so i recommed using it to stay on track of due dates. Everything is done online as well! (even tests and the final)
I had perfect attendance, good test scores, I did the assignments. I got a 65 It was an fys.
This guy is a YAPPER. He will lecture about something you took a test on already and attendance is mandatory. However his exams all assignments are online, including tests and the final. (He has talked about changing it soon However, keep that in mind)
Not the most interesting professor, lectures are wildly boring, but all assignments and the midterm/final is online, which helps a lot. Textbook is a tough read, but manageable. Takes attendance every class period and it's counted toward grade, so make sure to show up to class. Assignments weren't that difficult, but are heavy on research/writing.
