Good lecture and activities. Very friendly and helpful. Easy grader on speech, but quizes is sort of hard. If you looking for good and easy professor, you would wanna take this class.

I hate speech but abrahams made it so fun especially with ice-breaker activites and was good at showing the basics that are good to know when you're publicaly speaking and reading articles. Just do the speaches and work and you'll pass easily.

Mr. Abrahams makes Speech class less scary! He has really helped me overcome my fear of speaking in public. This class is relevant to a lot of things you will encounter in life. It is definitely worth taking! A +++ !!

I had MR. Abrahams for a morning class at 7:30 am and even though it was really early he made the class interesting and made you laugh I really reccomend this teacher if you do all your speeches and work you will get an A

Matt is one of the best teachers at deAnza! He has a great sense of humor and he really tries to prepare you for your speeches. Before his class, I was afraid to take speech but he made it fun and easy. He doesn't grade too hard on you as long as you try, and he provides extra credit. Two thumbs up!

Matt is a great teacher,probably the best I've ever had. He's friendly and really funny; he keeps class interesting, even on days it's just lectures. He makes everyone feel comfortable with each other. If you put effort into your speeches and study for quizzes you should be fine;not a hard grader.

matt is a great guy. the class was hard at first for me, cos i dislike talking in front of class, but then i end up feeling confident about myself at the end. take this class, easy A, unless you dont' study for the quizzes. bs in your speech is a no-no!

One of the best teachers I've had the privlege to learn from. Not an incredible amount of homework, just complete assignments and do well on tests and an A will be yours. Offers extra credit and keeps an online webpage with current grade status so you can see where you stand at all times. Excellent!

This Instructor is really good, I took Speech 1 & speech 15, Like others i was not a person to talk in front of class, but belive me this class will prepare you to outcome that fear. If you do all your presentation and keep up with your class work you can get a A easily.

Mr Abrahams is a wonderful teacher, he is also a great person. He treats everyone with respect and is very passionate about teaching. If you have a fear of speech, you should take Mr Abrahams, he is patient and kind. OH YEA...He is also easy on the eyes. He is very funny, and keeps everyone laughing. excellent teacher, its easy for the most part, just enjoy class and somewhat pay attention. its great how he applies business relations into spch. (business majors take him) hes knows his stuff and has experience in the business world also. MUsT TAKE

Matt is EXTREMELY clear in his lectures and quite organized. You will have activities you must do in and out of class. He is a model of excellent communication. His tests are very fair and easy, if you read the textbook and write down everything on his lecture notes. I highly recommend his class if you actually want to learn something.

I missed the first day. I went into another speech 10 class by mistake. When I realized I was in the wrong class I was relieved. Matt is a good teacher he has a lot of real world experiences that help. He made the material and the class interesting. I enjoyed the class. What I learned has helped me a lot and has made public speaking easier.

Matt is definitely the best teacher I've taken at DeAnza. He is so clear, nice, and helpful! He doesn't want you to fail but makes you work for the grade a bit. His assignments are always fun and everything he teaches is applicable to real world situations...an important thing for him. If you take speech...take him...not even an option!!

Awesome teacher. Barely touched the book but if you're aiming for that A+ you should read the book for the tests. If you're aiming for the B or C just pay attention in class and do the presentations and you'll do fine. Even to those that are afraid of speaking in front of others, I'd still recommend his class, he makes it stress free.

Looks like Mr. Boston from I LOVE NEW YORK but he acts nothing like him.. He is really there for the students and wants everyone to succeed and will allow you to make up any assignment even if it is a month late and you show intrest in doing well in his class.. he lectures gives breaks and is big on getting out early if you have done the work alrea

I loved going to his class every day. He makes it very enjoyable for students! He is also very clear and concise on what he wants- he will help you as much as you need it. I learned stuff from the real world, too (as he talks about his experiences). Overall, he deserves the highest RECOMMENDATION. Take him, you won't regret it- trust me!

Professor Abrahams is way too good for this course! He is the most organized and concise lecturer I have ever had. He is witty, personable, energetic, and captivating. The class itself is a drag because you are dependent upon lazy teenage partners. But other than that - Mr. A gets an A+++!!!!

Him and Mark are an awesome team. This class should be taken, to clear out your psych and speech requirements. Not only that, you get your own personal counselor, so no waiting for 2 hours. At most 15 minutes! I highly recommend this class.

I really liked this class because Matt made speech seem like the easiest thing in the world.He was really strict on attendance though because he lowered any grade one point for every extra absence. But otherwise he rocks!

Mark is a great teacher...energetic and helpful. His mind control is pretty easy just do some reading and turn your stuff in on time. lectures are helpful too and tests are relatively easy. take the Mind Control class to knock down psych 1 and speec 10 at the same time

Great Instructor, he has alot of credibility with speech and communication because of his experience with companies and he shares alot about himself. He keeps the class entertained enough that they dont fall asleep and at the same time keeps us stimulated enough about the material that we learn it. I would take him again

Matt is a fantastic teacher. He is someone I will be trying to emulate when I give presentations and teach training courses. Its the type of class where the material is more important than the grades to Matt. As long as you do you work on time, attend class, spend an hour to study for the tests, you will get an A. Only lazy people get less than A

Matt is a great teacher. He gives lectures every class but they are short. The group time given in class is sufficient for projects and Matt is always around to help and check work. The homework is minimal with a little reading. Overall a great class, an easy A if you try.

I am taking the speech and psych class at De Anza with Matt and Mark. aka Mind Control. Very cool and interesting class. Highly recommend taking because if you dont want to take speech dont worry, it is more of a psych class that teaches you how to get over your anxieties. Matt is crystal clear and pretty funny.

All the concepts he taught were very easy to learn, yet applicable to everyone's life. I took Mind Control where he teamed up with Mark Healy and finished the class with an A+. Just stay on top of all the assignments and enjoy the class.

UGH! He's amazing! He's one of the best communications instructors I've ever had. He is dedicated to making you understand the material. There is really no reason to do poorly in his class, he understands that while we are students, we also have lives that can have issues at inopportune times. SPCH 15 can be taken as GE, It's useful. TAKE HIM!

Matt is one of the best teachers I've had so far at De Anza! What I liked most about his class is that he really eases you into the public speaking. He makes it SO easy on you, for my class, we never had to talk in front of the whole class by ourselves. Instead it was always with a group or from our chair kind of thing. Great class!

Mr. Matt is a Hella of a teacher. If De Anza college hasn't offered him tenure, they obviously have their heads up where the sun don't shine. Matt is an incredible teacher. He has a wide array of knowledge about communications and really strives to make you a better public speaker. He will go out of his way to help you achieve that as well. He keeps class interesting and isn't too harsh of a grader. Two quizzes and a few presentations, the final is in a group. AMAZING teacher! He's very engaging and knowledgeable. He'll show you he knows his stuff without boring you and he always has funny stories to share. Attendance is optional but helpful. He always warns you when things will be due or tested the next week. I'd definitely take another one of his classes and I recommend him 100%!!

I have conflicted feelings about this class & the teacher. I did become somewhat more comfortable giving speeches but not as much as I expected. High workload but doable, a LOT of note taking. No textbook but had to buy 3 books, 1 of which is written by him & 1 which we never even used. Group quizzes helped & he did cram a lot into the qrtr.

Great class and great teacher, do the work and you'll get the grade. What he teaches can actually be applied to real life so definitely beneficial.

Matt's a very nice prof! Really cares about the improvement of his students. 2 independent speeches, 1 with group. All super easy & about 3 min. Minor reading quizzes (2pts) and 2 major quizzes (taken with a group though). He focuses more on how to battle speech anxiety. Definitely recommend him!

Great guy. You will get an A if you do all of your speeches, even if they aren't the best just follow your guidlines. Moderate amount of work but you will know your grade progress as you go through the class. This eases any grade anxiety you may have. Be excited if you get into this class!!!

Professor Abrahams is a gem esp if you need to work on speaking in public. He gives a lot of helpful stuff to better your habits "on stage." He also tries to be engaging in class (although it's hard to be engaged when the class is super early in the morning). But overall, he is such a helpful professor! You'll learn a lot + it's not a tough class!

Matt was a good teacher. He actually helped reduced my speech anxiety with his techniques. 3 speeches, one is group speech. You have to record your individual speeches and watch them at home to know what to improve on. Easy to understand notes. Clarifies and answer your questions clearly. Read 2 small books. Very helpful class and fun.

His lectures and teaching style are amazing. Basically you enjoy the class. He does not ask you t repeat assignments. No extra credit. Late turn ins are accepted. Quizzes are easy. For them you have to pair with two others that makes them super easy. Easy A if you show up and submit your work.
