Despite the class being a direct insult to my intellect (I don't know WHY I took 121), it was an easy A+, reminiscent of 1st grade. Write on the board, get extra credit. 10 question test, open-book. Child's play.

easy,easy,easy. going up to board = 5 extra credit points. a lot of students earned so much extra credit they didn't even have to take the final. no homework. he gets directly to the point and tells u exactly what u need to know. great teacher

Goes very slow, but what he does teach he makes it pretty easy to follow. Always talks about his work.

A 3 year old could pass this class. Get up and do the problems on the board and you don't even have to take the test. If you suck at math (like me) this is definitely the class for you.

This class is so easy. I hate math, and made an A without even buying the book. If you do bad on a test, just go up and do the problems on the board. I did 90 points worth. I only had to answer 1 question out of 10 right.

Dr. Carltons class is extremely easy, and you would have to have an IQ of less that 60 not to make an A or B in this class. He gives so much extra credit, that some students only had to make a 20-30% on each test in order to get an A for the semester.

professor carlton is a very smart man, but sometimes he has a hard time sharing his knowledge with the class. i had to drop when i took it with rubin, and wanted to drop with him to begin with, but in the end it turned out alright. i think he is very nice, just sarcastic a lot

This is a really easy class if you come to class everyday and put problems on the board. It's easy to get extra points, and the tests are open book and open notes.

He is very helpful. He has a good sense of humor. He is very willing to help and has really good methods of teaching. He won't put up with goofing off, but will joke around. There are people in my class that aren't good at math and find him very helpful. He lets you put problems on the board for points so you learn and help your grade.

I'm terrible at math and was scared to death on the first day. After a few weeks, the fear subsided. The course is relatively easy if you attend class, do your homework, and put problems on the board (problems come from your homework).

I loved Dr. Carlton. He is the best math teacher I have ever had. If you don't understand a concept he goes out of his way to help you understand. If anyone says he is a bad teacher, they are completely idiotic.

very nice, tests come straight from handouts, attendance is not mandatory but you must put problems on the board, usually 4-6 before each test to even have a chance at a 100 percent for it. would highly reccomend

Very good teacher! HE is super easy. I would recommend him to anyone. If you come to class and do all the extra credit possible you will definitely get an A. All the tests are directly from the handouts and he lets you use them on the tests. How easy is that?

Dr. Carlton was probably the easiest math teacher I have EVER had. The test are only 8 questions, and are super easy. The questions come straight from the handouts and you put problems on the board from the handouts. The way you sign up for them, if u forget to do them, you can do them in class before you have to go. This class is SOO easy!!!!!!!!!

I had Carlton for Math 123 and I currently have him for Math 203 (Business Calculus). I am terrible at math, but Carlton has made it easy for me. The tests are 12 questions, answer-only, and none of the problems are new. Three tests and no required homework. If you make an effort, he is willing to help you out. A great math professor.

This professor is one of Marshall's best. I would recommend him to anyone.

Most people won't realize this, but he is an amazing teacher. It's just important that you don't miss the class. I had no clue what calculus even was until I took this class, now I get it. He's also funny sometimes especially when he uses terms like "arbitralily large" or "big D's". He does kinda flirt with some of the girls in the class sometimes.

If you are serious about learning about math I strongly recommend this prof to you! By far the best math I have ever had. He is very smart, funny, and does his best to clarify concepts. I had him for MTH 123 and 203 and made a high A in both. Just show up to class and ask problems and you'll be fine!

This class is a breeze. As long as you come to class and participate it is almost a guaranteed A. The teacher makes it simple and easy to understand, however he is very arrogant. If you can deal with that, then I'd recommend the class.

tremendous teacher, I would recommend him to anyone. Some people call him arrogant, but he is very intelligent and if you listen to what he says then you will learn a lot. The class could not be easier. You go in put a problem on the board once a week... and thats half your grade. Its not so easy that you wont learn anything but is not difficult.

Very easy class. Lectures pretty clearly, tests are INSANELY EASY (you can use your book and everything). He's very dry and has practically no sense of humor. He reminds me of Ben Stein (the guy from Ferris Bueller's Day Off). I spoke up a lot and made him laugh, so that made the class more fun. Very easy A, and you learn a little.

Dr. Carlton is certainly a character. Extremely monotone, but knows what he is teaching. Class couldn't be made easier: 3 tests, 10 multiple choice questions on each, can use notes and textbook. Bonus points for writing problems out on board, I would recommend doing so because it can save your grade in the end.

He is a sweet, older gentleman with a very monotone voice. Try to avoid taking his class early so you don't fall asleep (he talks a bit softly). Super dry sense of humor and a very noticeable Republican. Overall, his tests are extremely easy, coming to class is worth solely bonus points, and he is funny. Worth it. Love this guy.

I slept through most classes and skipped a lot but still got an A because the class is so freaking easy. He also gives you extra credit just for attending class.

At first I was intimidated by him but as the days went on I learned to really like him. He definitely has a dry sense of humor but laugh at his jokes. He talks really low so pay attention. He hates phones so just put them away for the 50 mins you're in there and be respectful. 3 total tests including final and gives extra credit. Super easy class!

Honestly, as long as you follow his rules and participate, there is no way to fail. He may be a little on the rude side, but f you do things the way he likes them done, you'll be fine. He really is a good teacher; he cares about what he's teaching.

I hated math before I took Carlton for 121. He's certainly an acquired taste, but be assured you will respect him if you see through his intensity. Math is so much more understandable after this class with him and I couldn't be more greatful. If you're willing to be attentive, he's willing to help you.

He seems harsh at first but he's Ok. Your grade is composed of 3 multiple choice tests with 10 questions each. Each test is open notes and if you've done your packet you'll be fine. You'll get lots of extra credit if you go to the board and work out problems. In high school I never had anything higher than a C, but finished with a 140% with him.

Behind his Grumpy-Old-Man facade, Dr. Carlton is actually pretty chill. Personally, I think my class broke him a little with our insistence to be disobedient, but eventually he just started to go along with it. He does make you go to the board and sometimes he can be condescending. But his tests are pretty easy and all-in-all he's a decent guy.

At first I thought Carlton was just a mean old man who hated anyone who didn't know how to do math. Then, I went and spoke with him in his office hours and loved him ever since. You do have to go to the board for extra points on the tests, but you also get to use your packets on those. Overall, he is a great professor and an easy A.

his class is very straightforward. gives a problem packet for every test, goes over it in class, then you have a test. each student has the opportunity to go to the board for extra credit, and I would definitely recommend doing so. I thought he was hilarious. overall, great professor and definitely knows his stuff. would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Carlton is AmAzIng!!! I loved having him and wish that he taught more courses just so I could take him again! I learned so much in his class and he is one of the only math teachers I have ever understood so clearly. He's stand offish at first, but just give him a chance, you won't regret it.

This class is an easy A if you show up and listen. He outlines everything on the board. The tests are super simple and based right off the homework problems. The lectures can be boring, but if you ask questions, the class becomes a lot lighter.
