EASY EASY EASY, and Matt is great! He is really funny, and some of his test questions reflect that. I took both 240 and 241 this semester and will get an A in both. Recitation is fun as long as you make it fun. Matt is by far one of the best profs in the Sociology department. Go to lecture its fun!

I loved this class! It was so interesting and even though there is a recitation class and a paper due later in the semester, it was soooo easy and I recommend it to anyone!

Great professor & interesting class. Simple straight-forward exams, but you do learn. His enthusiam and interest in the subject is contageous. I would take every criminal justice class from him if he taught them.

There's a lot of hype surrounding his classes and to be honest I was kind of disappointed when I finally took his class. I guess a test that's so easy you could take it with your eyes shut is great for freshman, but as a junior I was actually looking to really learn something. He seems to be a really great guy though and VERY approachable!

Matt is a great person who will go out of his way for you.

Definitely an intro class. Very easy to ace tests. His lectures can get slightly boring from time to time but I wouldn't let this discourage you from taking his classes. I'm actually looking forward to the one I have coming up next semester.

This course is not only interesting, but the material relates to situations that any of us could encounter. Even if you are not interested in criminal justice, it is helpful to know your rights when it comes to the law. Matt is a great prof with a lot of ambition for the subject. Highly recommended!

Great professor. He is one of the best lecturers I've ever taken a course with and would definetly recommend those taking a criminal justice class to take it with him. He makes the the material easy, relevant, and understandable, especially if you're not traditionally a criminal justice major.

as a criminal justice minor and coming from a whole family of corrections and public safety emplyees, I wasn't looking forward to an introductory course but DeLisi's class is insightful the the criminal justice system. He relates to you as a student and makes even the boring stuff fun to engage in. Highly recommend taking his classes!

Awesome professor. test are easy and he gives a study guide which is all you need to get an A on the test. Didn't read the book often. Makes the subject interesting especially for an intro course!

Very good teacher. It's nice that he writes most of the material we used in 240 and 241. Very flexible if you missed something he is willing to still give you the notes. Unlike some professors.

My favorie teacher of the semester. Very interesting class and he makes it soo much fun. He writes all the material you use and is willing to work with you if you miss class. The recitation is very helpful too. He wants you to succeed. If you have free time, I would recommend the class. =)

Great! He was always willing to help and really knows what he's talking about. He made it fun to learn about something that I had no interest in before his class. Not to mention he doesn't have the facial hair thing going on any more so he's REALLY good looking now : )

This was an incredibly easy class. Almost everything on the tests came directly from lecture, and a lot of it is common sense too. He is very helpful and is willing to answer any questions you may have, even during a test. There are even a few "gimme" questions on every exam! He kept it interesting, and I enjoyed showing up to class.

His class is very easy if your good at multiple choice tests. He has very thorough power points and gives you a list of 50-60 things you need to know for the mid-term and final and the tests are 50 questions.

Gives interesting lectures, attendance isn't mandatory, he gives study guides for his tests... as long as you know the study guide and the chapter from the book you'll do well.

Mr. delisi is awesome and professional. He is very good about answer questions almost instantly and will help with almost anything. Genuinely cares for his students

Though this class is SUPER easy, it was the only class all semester that I attended each and every one. Delisi makes the class interesting, and he truly wants you to know and understand the material. He is an AWESOME professor, and if you have the chance to take any of his classes, it should definitely be done. AMAZING!

I loved my criminal justice class! Even though it was an 8am, I enjoyed waking up for them because I loved sitting and listening to him talk. He told you what to study, and his tests were easy if you study. His tests don't try to trick you. I would love to take another class of his!

He is by far my favorite professor. He makes the class feel involved. I never even cracked open my textbook, but you have to go to class. He doesn't post the lectures, but will let you take the test late if you miss your alarm. LOVED this class!

He wrote the book that we were supposed to read, so if you attend and pay attention during lectures its not really necessary.

He wrote our textbook, and I actually read the entire thing because I found it that interesting. Lectures on one day, watch a video the next. No tests given, just one 15+ page paper due at the end of the semester, and attendance points. Great lectures, lots of discussion. If you need a laid back and interesting class, this is it. Would take again.

This class was an awesome first class to take here at ISU. Dr. Delisi was very informative and knew everything he needed to know about his job. Ask him any question, he can give you an answer. The content is very practical and interesting. If you're interested in this class at all, I would definitely recommend it!

One of the most interesting classes I've taken. Dr. Delisi is one of the most clear, straight forward professors I've had. He gives study guides for exams, but his lectures are 100% worth going to. So interesting, I love this class.

He is by far one of the coolest professors at Iowa State. He is pretty straightforward with what is going to be on each test and they are fairly easy. I am not a CJ major but this class made me consider taking more on the subject!

Class has straightforward exams that DeLisi really prepares you for plus there is an extra credit paper that basically guarantees a B or higher. Gives incredible lectures but also involves the class in discussion, pretty funny too. And it does not hurt that DeLisi is gorgeous! SO Dreamy....

Special topics class on homicide with great lectures and awesome films that highlight the lectures. Lots of writing on annotated bibliography and final paper but he gives you lots of help and is understanding grader. Attendance counts throughout semester too. DeLisi is really, handsome :) and dresses very professionally. I never missed class

great professor, interesting, and one of the most famous criminologists in the country, so cool he is at ISU. has tons of contacts in the criminal justice system and is very helpful with setting you up with internships and jobs. understands the point of college of practical information and preparing for career in the field.

The hype is true. Class is lots of fun, interesting, and pretty easy. DeLisi gives great lectures and has good rapport with students. He is really cute and very confident which makes him even hotter. You won't regret taking this class :)

This class was online so we had weekly assignments. The assignments are easy if you just read the assigned readings. If you make a quality post, which he gives you an example of in the syllabus, you will get 100%. You just have to try and you will get a good grade.

He was clear about which materials would show up on the exam and what we should focus on.

Professor DeLisi is an excellent teacher and makes every class worth taking. He is the best professor I had in my four years of college.

Professor Delisi has a straightforward teaching style. He was always willing to stop and answer questions in the middle of lecture. He wrote the text books, and the exams (there were 4, no final) are based off of lecture and some extra info in the books. There was also an extra credit paper available.

I really enjoyed going to class and listening to Dr. DeLisi speak. He knows what he is talking about and is well prepared for each lecture. He is understanding and doesn't try to trick you on the test. If you study a little, you will pass. He is the reason I changed my major to criminal justice.

Matt is my favorite professor at Iowa State. Attendance is not mandatory but questions on exams are mostly from lectures. You watch a lot of films/movies during the course and Matt makes lectures fun to attend. Make sure you get him for class!!

Overall, the class is really easy to get an A in. Even if you don't show up to class, he posts all the notes online so as long as you look at them, you should pass all the tests. Also, he gives out a lot of extra credit randomly if you do show up to class. He's really nice and loves to teach!!

Easy A. Absolutely no homework, and only 4 exams each worth 50 points. Attend lecture and you will get a good grade on all 4 exams. Plus on 2 random lecture days, he gave us extra credit for showing, each worth 10 points. For people that need a random elective and want a good grade, take this class!

Absolute professional in his field, he personally goes to the field and researches the leading sociological issues. Listening to him lecture is more clear and understanding than a dedicated documentary on the subject.

Prof Delisi does an amazing job at engaging during lecture and making you want to learn more. There are two required textbooks but you can get an A in the course without opening them at all. His tests are lecture heavy so while attendance is not mandatory I would highly recommend not missing many classes but if you do he provides his lecture notes.

You only get graded on 4 exams and an optional extra credit paper, but the class was so easy and the professor is amazing! You don't really need to go to class to pass, but the lectures were interesting and the professor is funny and does a great job at making the class enjoyable. We also never went to the full 80 minutes so that's a plus.

Has really interesting and good lectures. However he does attendance randomly ten times throughout the semester so you have to attend if you want to get a good grade. Only grades attendance, an annotated bibliography, and a final paper. Theres no tests or homework. I never opened the textbook and still got an A.

Delisi is a great guy. He's a great at lecturing and keeps the class engaged. He's very knowledgeable about the topic and it shows. There are 4 exams to take online (not proctored) and he posts all the notes online. Attendance isn't mandatory and I didn't use the textbook once.

No top hat, lectures were easy to follow and entertaining. He is very compassionate about how his students do.

Top favorite professor, for my class it considered of two papers and 10 random attendance checks that's it, however his class was so interesting I didn't even mind going. His material is interesting and always prepared. Very understanding if you communicate with him. If you have the chance to take his class, do it.

Matt is awesome. I was excited to come listen to his lectures. 2 papers and attendance were the only things graded, so it was very easy to do well. I learned a lot. I wish he taught more classes.

This professor is amazing in many ways. He has very engaging lectures and topic to discuss. He is so knowledgeable about the material, and it helps that he has real life experience in criminal justice. He is very understanding is you do not do well on your exam there is a chance to retake and better your score. He wants you to succeed. He is great!

For his class there were two large papers, no quizzes or exams, however the papers do take a lot of time and dedication to write. He is very knowledgeable and flexible if you need to miss class, just let him know and he won't dock points.

Literally CJ240 was the class that got me through my first semester. 10/10 prof. Really cool guy; talked about Lil Wayne and showed us pictures of the cop from paw patrol. On a serious note, he's understanding, keeps it real, and is obviously passionate and well-versed in what he teaches. I'd take him for all my classes if I could.

He was very funny and sitting in his class felt like listening to a fun criminal justice podcast. He is very smart and includes a lot of his own personal experiences working with inmates. If you pay attention in lectures and take notes the class is a breeze. I feel like I retained a lot of vital information from this class and I would recommend it.

I missed a test because I misread the date and time, and he emailed me the test and let me take it whenever I felt most comfortable. He was very sweet and cared about his students getting good grades in the class. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! It's an interesting paper, and it will 100% boost your grade.

Dr. DeLisi is my favorite professor I have had in my whole academic career. He is a great man with awesome stories! He makes lectures entertaining, and they are worthwhile to attend. His tests are easy 100% if you go to the lectures. Four exams are worth 100 pts each, and an essay that is six pages is worth 350 pts. The paper is not hard. A++ Class

Dr. Delisi was AMAZING. His lectures are extremely interesting! He uses real life cases. He is extremely kind, caring, and an easy grader. All 4 tests are online. There is no homework all semester, other than one 6-page paper over a book he wrote, but it honestly is not hard. I highly recommend taking this class!

Dr. DeLisi was a fantastic professor to have. He has experience with the criminal justice system and has so many interesting stories to tell. He is a very fair grader and if you go to every lecture you will easily pass the class. No homework besides one paper that you have the entire semester to do and all 4 exams are online.

Dr. DeLisi's class was my favorite class I've taken at ISU. His lectures were extremely entertaining, and the topics we learned about were fascinating. There were 2 assignments throughout the semester and then a final paper on your research done. Attendance was randomly taken, so make sure you're not skipping too much! Definitely a great class.

Dr. Delisi is one of the best professors I've had at ISU! His class isn't attendance-mandatory, but I highly recommend attending the lectures and listening to him speak, because he truly is an inspiration! We only had four exams and a paper as our final, but besides that, he had no assignments or other coursework that contributed to our grade.

Dr. DeLisi is a great professor and person! He is a well-known criminologist, and his expertise is obvious in his lectures. The class consists of 10 attendance checks, a bibliography, and two papers (one 7-10 pages, the other 10). Since those are the only assignments, you have plenty of time to complete them. He also gives good feedback.
