My favorite teacher here! Love his lectures and the stories behind his pictures. His humor and knowledge of the subject make the class extremely enjoyable and fun. Know the slides thoroughly and never miss class! I highly recommend. You will learn so much
Very good teacher would highly recommend. always willing to help you. His test are not to hard so study and you should be okay. It is also very interesting to hear about all the places he has beenin the world
Mr. Ebiner is awesome. If you are looking for a no lab geography class, he is your man. The class was always interesting, but don't miss one, it could make the difference in getting a better grade. Enjoy!
his lecture is worth listening. very fun. but be careful, tests are sometimes tricky. and i recommend you to check LA Times regularly for newspaper assignment. don't wait until the last minute.
Very challenging! Test are hard. You have to admire his passion and expertise!!!
Mr. Ebiner has a ton of personal information on the subject matter. Make sure you dont miss a class and take really good notes. If you put in the work then there is no way you cant get an A.
Mr. Ebiner really knows his stuff. Just make sure you don't miss a class because most of his test Q's come straight out of the notes. Take this class it is really interesting!!!!
Mr. Ebiner, is a great instructor, take good notes, attend class every lecture, and complete all asignments, I guarantee you will A's the class. He makes lectures interesting due to his knowlede many visits around the world. I recommend it 100%
If you do the work and study he helps you with the rest! :)
He is the greatest teacher ever! Made the three hour class bearable. He uses power point teaching with pictures of his own trips included. Learned so much. Study hard!!!!
Mr. Ebiner is best teacher ever! you will learn alot just from class and your notes. do all your work, do not miss class and you will get an A!!!
EXCELLENT professor. He takes out all his gagets that he's collected on his trips around the world and seems passionate about his subject, he'll eventully feel the same about the clss.
Cool teacher. Even thought I'm not doing well grade wise, his lectures are entertainning.
HE'S THE BEST TEACHER IN CALIFORNIA. HE HAS LOT OF EXPERIANCE. TAKE IT & U'LL SEE....
GREAT CLASS, GREAT TEACHER. Very Knowledgeable. My suggestion, go to class EVERY day, make the map (it's worth it), do this and you will get an A.
he is the best teacher. All i want to say he is the funny and best teacher.
This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. His class is so interesting. Just make sure that you go to every class and write down EVERYTHING that he says. You have to study a lot for this class, but it is totally worth it because the class is so awesome.
he is the best teacher.u'll find it. easy A. best class i ever took.
great teacher. he really loves what he does so get ready to study.
Mr. Ebiner is the best Geography teacher EVER!! He is very pashionate about his field. You must pay attention and study in order to get a good grade. Which isn't hard to do because he makes the material interesting and he is very thorough about his teachings.
LOVED THIS CLASS!!! He's an AWESOME teacher! Lectures are fun & interesting. He uses Powerpoint w/almost all his OWN photography (which are of professional quality). He has been to almost every country he covers & so he can relate interesting first-hand experiences.
Hey, he is a professional runner, teacher, traveler, photographer and the best teacher. It's a easy to get A, but I got so much information and knowledge from him. He is the best'est teacher.!
He knows what he is doing. He is a very good professer. The way he teach kept me going. He helped me alot in the class and he endded up coming to my wedding and signing for my witness. It was so grate that he could come all the way to Sri Lanka. Take his class, you will lern more about geography.
This class was very interesting class. I recommended my friends to take this class! His experience stories during traveling are very fun! thank you
Real personable, but not a great teacher. He lectures all on powerpoint and uses picture books. His test are worded so you have a better chance of missing the question than getting it right from what you think you know. I don't recommend him. He's a bit cocky and tries to be funny. don't fall for it
Mr. Ebiner has been by far the best teacher I've had in two years at El Co. He makes geography fun and interesting, and he makes you really get interested in geography. Overall, he's a great teacher, I wish there were more like him.
Great teacher. Well travelled and loves his job. Uses personal photographs(professional quality) and stories about the countries he has visited. You really remember what he teaches because of the stories, most funny, some poignant. I highly recommend Mr. Ebiner and would like to take him again.
Very hyper but he is a great teacher! His style of teaching will not bore you. You will learn a lot. I wish I could have him as a travel buddy. I do agree with one of the other comments, his tests are tricky, but study and think about the questions, you can pass.
I would also love to have him as a travel buddy. His tests are very tricky. However, his lectures are educational, and he doesn't waste time.
Mr. Ebiner is a fantastic teacher. His class was never boring. His lectures were fascinating and fun. His test match the lectures..maybe a few tricky questions. I got a C in the class (almost a B) but I still highly recommend Mr. Ebiner becuae I learned a lot. Thank YOu Mr. Ebiner.
Class is eye-opening and very interesting. Great teacher, teaches from experience and keeps the class engaged. His stories are classic!
Awesome teacher!! He is passionate about what he is teaching and it shows. The fact that he has been to almost every place he teaches about makes this class truly intersting. It is one of the few classes I really feel like I learned A LOT in. Study hard though! Im an A student, but was shy by 2%!
he was by far the one of the best profesors i've had, extr attentive with his students, and very clear with his lectures. there are no surprises either, his tests re just exactly what he covers. but you have to study and if you miss a class you better guarantee you might get a low test score NEVER M
One of the best teacher.Very active and kind heart teacher. I learned a lot of things.
This is one of the best class I have ever taken! He is fair and keeps his students motivated, also the stories he tells are just the best. I learned alot in this class, and it will stick with you. Thanks you Mr. Ebiner.
A really great guy and class. If every teacher had a notebook like his your GPA would wind up being 4.0.
A very informative class. Mr Ebiner combined his personal experience with the material to encourage the students to learn. Kept a rapid pace throughout, however never hesitated to reiterate facts if any student had questions. I would highly recommend him as an instructor.
A very easy class and interesting. he lectures with a projector (slides) and youll take a class fieldtrip with him as a midterm. you'll love him he is very funny.
Great teacher! No pushover, but you will love to learn in his class. Tests are based on his notes and slides. Very interesting class, important for all students so you will know what's happening in our world.

I totally recomend this teacher he is GREAT
I was totally uninterested in Geo before I took this class. I was actually dreading it, but Mr. Ebiner is so organized and helpful, and his anticdotes are so interesting the time just flies by and you can't help but learn something. Powerpoint all the way!!!
This was a very challenging class. It requires a lot of studying, but overall I really enjoyed it. His lectures were not boring at all. I'm really going to miss this class.
Mr Ebiner is a great professor, even I am a foreign student, I can still get all his stuff easily! His teaching is really good and funny! The class is really helpful for you to understand the world more! Take It!
Probably the most interesting, greatest class i've taken in my life.... i actually looked forward to everyday. I just wish we didn't have to skip Polynesia and the Soviet Union :)
Very interesting lectures. Vivid examples.
Very funny teacher, lots of jokes, and very knowledgable about the material
Fun fast paced class. I though this class would be 2 and a half hours snoozefest but Mr Ebiner is pretty entertaining. Lots of studying is required though. I got a 74% C but i still fell i learned a lot.
Hey Matt, you ROCK!!!!!!!!! -Andres =^.^=
Took this class for the GE units. And I left with a desire to learn more about the world around me and hopefully visit the people and places. Thank you Mr Ebiner. Your class is informative and inspiring.
Matt eibner is one of the best teachers that ive had, he makes the class so much fun, you actually want to go to class, its something your looking forward too,and after this class i defintley learned a lot more about the world, and want to visit so many places now, honestly hes a really kool teacher.
i recomended him to all my friends, now i'm recomending him to you. take his class and i guarantee that you'll enjoy every moment. don't blink or you'll be sorry you did.
The only bad thing I can say is his test are extremely tricky. Good things are he's helpful and keeps you entertained with powerpoint presentations.
One of the best professors at El Camino.
Great class! The double answers on the tests is a strange concept and can be very tricky if one is not well prepared for the test. But overall M. Ebiner is a great instructor. I highly recommend his class.
This is a great class and Mr. Ebiner has a lot personal stories that make the class fun to go to. But you have to study for all the test because they are tricky and difficult. If you want to improve your chances of getting a good grade BUY THE COURSE NOTEBOOK. This will make your note taking easy.
Matt is someone that will inspire you beyond your expectations. He too has changed my life and I thank him for being such a role model for me. He's not just a good teacher, but an amazing person. He reaches for the top and seems to rub that off on people. Take his class, you will not regret a minute
Great teacher and a great class! A little tricky at times, but a lot of fun. Field trip to Monrovis Canyon is a highlight of the course!
Mr Ebiner is a great teacher, he has a lot of stories and pictures to share with the class. He is the best teacher I have had since I started college. Take his class he will change your whole prespective of the world.
Mr Ebiner is the****. I took his class before and i plan on taking him a third time. He makes you want to travel the world.
Ebiner is very clear. A bit TOO clear if you know what I mean. He keeps repeating himself and thinks we can't understand simple concepts, so he has to draw diagrams. Do the work, struggle to sit upright through the slides, you'll get the grade. He can mix up his teaching style though- the slides get old. FAST.
This is the 2nd class I've had with Ebiner, and I love it! His great story telling, beautiful pictures and funny sense of humor makes the class very light-hearted and very enjoyable. One of the Best Goegraphy Teachers out there!
Take a tour of the world with Matt Ebiner! His personal photo slides are spectacular, his lectures stimulate your interest to travel. You'll also realize as you learn about the world, that there are many screwed-up third world leaders who do not understand that taking care of their environment is taking care of their world.
Mr. Ebiner an extraordinary teacher who manages to inspire all of students to travel. He takes all of his own photos and has been to something like 135 countries. KEEP IT UP EBINER!
He makes the class very interesting that end it being very productive for the students. His lecture along with the slides he shows during lecture are very helpful to remember what the topic was about. After a long day at work going to his class was like traveling around the world!
Ebiner has been to more countries on earth than you can count (especially if you are an El Camino student). He know what he's talking about and is a very intelligent and funny man. Each class meeting is like taking a trip around the world with a really cool friend. His classes aren't easy, but he's always willing to help. HIGHLY reccomend!!!
Mr. Ebiner is a fantastic teacher! He tries to inspire his students to travel not just learn about these places!! Some may complain about the amount of material needed to memorize but its all worth it and not difficult if you try! He has been everywhere and tells us about it everyday! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Teaching is very good BUT tests questions are very randomly picked and obscure.
Easy to understand and grasp the materials.
good instructor
Mr. Ebiner transmits his love and enthusiam of GEO to his classmates. I fell in love with the world, it's people, natural landscapes and Geography itself.I hope to be a great teacher as Mr. Ebiner one day and teach my students about the beauty of the world and it'people as Mr Ebiner did. Keep up the Great Work Mr. Ebiner see you next spring.
Ebiner is a a good, passionate teacher with plenty of entertaining stories. Loved the class and got a good grade. Study your notes and you will do fine.
Mr Ebiner is very funny
I personally had to drop the class...BUT he was such a fantastic teacher. Each class he shows a slideshow of pictures he took from countries. He travels ALL the time so he teaches from experince ~ not a boring textbooks. And he's very funny & entertaining as he teaches. I can't wait to take the class again (and pass =) Just study your notes & go!
fantastic teaching style. You will learn so much on his class. his class is very interesting but the test is a little bit hard.
This class was very interesting, but get ready to study your ass off!His tests are very hard and sometimes a lot of the things you study aren't even on the test.

Mr. Ebiner is a fantastic teacher! He is very interesting and his tests are very straightforward-- everything is right out of your notes, and your notes are pre-printed for you and based on his really interesting (really!) power-point slides. You'll learn more than you thought you would, and if you take the notes you'll pass the class.

Great Person... Great PowerPoint’s... Sometimes slow... Overall great. Take him and you'll learn a lot. Exams were a little too hard, but I did okay... go to his web and get an idea of what his class is like www.elcamino.edu/faculty/mebiner
Hard but his PWR point notes are organized and tells great stories. Got an "A" in both Physical and Cultural geography but i had to study my butt off.
this guy is such a nerd, and takes his classes way to seriously, the class requires too much reading, and tests are hard, I recommend another teacher unless your a geo nerd too.
okay okay, so he's a little bit dorky. he's kind and helpful and has great stories. you learn a lot about this world and then yearn to see it for yourself. he's very clear in what he expects... and if you think that something he said might be too obscure f
I had Mr. Ebiner for a Geo class about 7 years ago and to this day, his enthusiasm for the world and travel remains with me. What better way to learn than from someone who can share their own personal experiences about the country you're studying. He has inspired me to travel anywhere I can get to.
Great teacher, great photos, very interesting class
Didn't get a really good grade in his class, but passed his class. All still good anyways.
Mr. Ebiner is the best teacher at El Camino. This was my 2nd time taking a class with him and I really enjoyed it. This class required a lot of studying because there's alot of info, but since GEO is one of my favorite subjects I didnt mind at all. To anyone who is interested in Geography I definitely recommend Mr. Ebiner
This is the best professor I have ever had. He is clear & concise, very well organized and I really enjoyed his class.
Mr. Ebiner is the most professional teacher I have had in many years. His organized and well structured teaching material made a boring class like physical geography a very fun and interesting class. The main things I learned in this class is to learn to appreciate my surroundings and plan a trip. Thank you very much. Judy Rodriguez
I'll make it really simple: Awesome teacher, interesting class, take good notes as the tests are almost exclusively from the notes, attend class daily and you'll do just fine. He's a great teacher and he really knows his stuff. It will probably be the one class that you'll look forward to going to.
Not an easy class, but I learned so much. I will definitely be taking more classes with him in the future.
Ebiner is a wonderful professor! His vast knowledge is impressive and his personal stories make the class fun! Make sure you take good notes and study them. Label the maps too...that really helps. Got a B in the class, but I studied, turned in both assignments and din't miss a class.
Ebiner rocks. He has been to almost every conutry in the world and almost all the pictures in his clean power point lectures were taken by him. It is very nice to have a geography teacher that has actually been to the countries you talk about. His jokes need a lilttle work. Ex. What do you get when you mix an Elephant with a rhino. Elephnio ???
Mr. Ebiner & His class are awesome & WAY interesting. He's So Funny & he's been everwhere. That said, it is SOO hard! The hardest part is the newspaper assignment, do good on this to pass with an A. My Class's grades: 13 As, 14 Bs, 7 Cs, 3 Ds 1 F and 5-10 drops. He posts everything online so you can check your grades & assignments anytime.I Go a B.
he's the best. very proffesional and clear on his teaching techniqes.
Mr ebiner Is a very good teacher, and was one of my favorites. He has first hand experience in what he teaches. Most importantly MR EBINER IS A REPUBLICAN!!! (rare for a college instructor)Thats what makes him the greatest!!
I REALLY REALLY love this teacher! He knows his stuff and Matt Ebiner uses real-life experiences pertaining to the class! Wish there were more teachers like him in El Camino!
his class is real interesting, doesn't keep you boring. international students welcome, his lecture is so clear and easy to understand. not a lot of vocabs either. he got great jokes too. i would take him again. makes me want to travel all of the world.
This professor is GREAT!!!! Again, he is very clear with his lectures, doesn't mess around but goes down to business as soon as you walk in his class. He throws many jokes and keeps his class very interactive at all times! Very simple language, and is there if you need help. Be sure to ask Q's, he wants you to!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED INDEED!!!
This professor is the best teacher i have ever taking for world geography!!!!!!!!!
Great teacher! Lectures were entertaining as well as educational. Fun class, make sure to study pictures in notebook.
HOPE HE WILL BE TEACHING FOREVER SO EVERY ONE CAN ENJOY LEARNING GEOGRAPHY OVER AND OVER!
He is a great teacher. He is well experienced by traveling 118 countries around the world. Also, he is an expert in his field and has passion in his teaching career. I highly recommend this teacher. Tests are not hard either, Listen to the lecture carefully and review pictures that he shows you.
Good Instructor!
It's soo hard to hate him. I found my passion for Geography here but those test, just slapped me with the unexpected. Despite it all, he is the BEST teacher; funny, experienced, inspiring, serious yet so full of life! The honors class is harder than my current Geo.2 WARNING BEFORE ENTERING HIS CLASS: you may decide to change majors ~Silly87 =D
Didn't do really well in his class, but passed. He's good anyhow. He looks young, just to mention so forth.
He is a great teacher, even though I did not do well, it was my own fault...I took him during winter section and he was great...TAKE HIM!!! He is very well organized and there is no way you could fail his course
I attempted taking physical geography & it was so boring that I dropped it. But Mr. Ebiner is extremely enthusiastic about geography and his lecture techniques are systematic and comprehensible. I definitely recomment taking him for geography. Mr. Ebiner makes geography fun to learn and easy to understand. I'd suggest attending class everyday
Didn't do a good job in this class, but passed. Great Professor! Similar to me, he even loves running! At least I know him fairly well so he's lucky I didn't leave him a neg.
He's the best teacher in the world; he will make you want run outside and see the world. His lectures take up the whole class period, but they are very entertaining, so much so that I took geo 2 for fun!
He was able to keep me interested for 3 hours once a week. You learn neat things and see cool photos. Fun class.
Best teacher ever! Made class so much fun and his class is only hard if you do not study! Really cool guy and makes a good friend too! Definately reccomend him!
The best instructor I've ever had! Easy to follow, great stories, lots of knowledge....has been to so many different places and enjoys his teaching and his travels. It all totally radiates into the classroom!
if you are willing to take a challange and learn a lot, take him. if you want an easy class that you don't have to do anything, don't. read newspapers if you take him. Do what he says.
It's an easy class, and you learn a lot. Take notes, and study them. You'll do fine on tests. Do all the assignments and take good notes. Nice guy and he is there to help when you need him.
He is really coooooool !
I've had eight different professors so far at ECC and Mr. Ebiner has been the best one. His lectures are very clear and entertaining. He also accompanies each lecture with well prepared slides and beautiful photos that he took himself.
His class is the only class that i wont sleep on or skip!!!! Effective lectures and interesting stories from his traveling!!! and of course, it is easy!!!!!!!! Pay attention and take notes during the class will guarantee u an A!!!
Hard not to love this course with the enthusiasm Professor Ebiner brings to the classroom. He shares interesting stories and gorgeous photography of his adventures around the world. The class is challenging but a snap if you take good notes and review the slide lectures on his website.
Mr. Ebiner is extremely enthusiastic about geography and his lecture techniques are systematic and comprehensible. I definitely recommend taking him for GEOGRAPHY. Mr. Ebiner makes geography FUN to learn and easy to understand. I'd suggest taking notes & studying! I'm currently taking Geog 5 =)
The field studies class is the cooliest class. Field trips and stuff!
You will learn alot and he has alot good stories to tell. His tests are easy but at not same time challenging so study all the material.
he is a good teacher and enthusiastic about the material with stories as well. He is very knowledgeable. the only tthinkg is he feels the students should be a sknowledgeable. He covers to much stuff (4 countries about 55 pages of notes) in two weeks and expects you to do well.
he is a really nice guy and has a lot of cool stories but he expects you to learn so much in such a small time frame. his tests are hard and he wants you to learn everything on the maps, so you have to study a lot. he even suggests making a study sheat and carrying it around with you...
Wonderful teacher, very knowledgable and fun. Take any of his classes.
Slides accompany lectures. Notea are already pre-printed for you. making it much easier for you to take notes (with the copies of the slides adjacent to the lines where you take notes on). I highly recommend this teacher.
He is a excellent teacher and you learn alot about the world and he has great stories. There are alot of notes but if you study it should be pretty easy. I suggest blow up the maps he gives you and then study the notes. if you are familiar with where the place is, learning about it is easy!!!!
Cool guy with a lot of knowledge about the world! His tests are tough but if you put in the time to study your notes you will be fine! I got an A but i went to every class and study for the tests. You will learn a lot in this class so take him!
awesome, interesting professor
Wonderful, wonderful teacher. Have to study hard to get the A though. But offers easy extra credit through-out the semester. Always willing to clear things up. 2nd half was easier than the first. 1st half dealt with atmosphere and trade winds, etc while the 2nd half was glaciers and volcanos, etc.
Enthusiastic, but lesson plans at times will stray off subject; the problem is that his quizzes are all really easy, but his test questions can be hard. Everything was cakewalk up until the final exam which was very abstract with questions. His final exam was very hard compared to anything else in the course.
I had to take this class because the class I wanted was canceled. I'm soooo glad my choice of class was canceled because Matt Ebiner made Geography come to life! I learned so much and loved Geography now.
He is one of the great professor in ECC. Take his class and you will learn a lot-
kinda suck, he cant check students attendance and grade is unfair
One of the best!
Great teacher, he knows what he is talking about. No way you can fail, unless you dont show up to class. Test are based of lectures!
One of the best people I have every know.
You have to study hard!! This is not a class you just get by in. Although it's not impossible it takes a lot of work and commitment. Ebiner is the best when it comes to posting up grades. Most of the times you know your scores the same day. He is also quite funny. Take his class if you really want to learn something.
He is a good teacher but he gets a little too excited about it. Always wants to tell his stories and the tests are sort of hard. Lots of information to cover
I took his Physical Geography Lab class, and let me tell you, this man has an intense passion for geography, and nature in general. You could sense it, see it, and feel nature through his lectures and even his body language! I loved this class, it was FRESH. It was a bit hard, but that didn't matter because it was a great class in general.
He is a great teacher, knows his stuff also.. due to him travel basically the entire world.. though you HAVE to study for his tests as it would be the worlds toughest challenge to wing them all and pass with a B or above. wish i took his class more seriously in the beginning though...
Mr. Ebiner is very knowledgeable about geography. His use of textbooks and visual ads were very helpful. If you don't learn anything in this course don't blame it on Mr. Ebiner. He does his best to make the subject interesting. Study your text and notes. 90% of your notes were given to us before the course started. Great professor. Great presenter.
Very good Instructor. He explains everything very well and helps out alot.
He is a very nice and good teacher. He's also pretty funny and tells great stories about the places he's been. This is the first Geo class I've ever taken and I really like it so far. His tests are kinda hard but just study your notes...he also likes trick questions a little bit.
very hard. not fun. boring. extensive. no group work. only lectures. cold hard facts.
Mr. Ebiner is one of the best teachers I've had at El Camino. He's travelled extensively, which makes his lectures so interesting. I'm one who can typically ace a test without studying, but Ebiner's test are slightly difficult. Everything on the tests is covered in the notes, so all you have to do is study. Take this class!
Mr. Ebiner is the best teacher. His lectures are based on his real experiences which made this class very interesting. His tests are fair but you have to take notes in class and do your part and study. I look forward to see him in Fall when I take GEO5. He is the best!!! Take his class, you would not be disappointed.
Ebiner is a great teacher! He's seen Many countries, so the guy really knows what he's talking about... has great stories to tell about his trips also! =D
Mr Ebiner is probably one of the best teachers I've ever had.
BEST FREAKEN TEACHER IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!! TAKE HIM......THERE IS NO OTHER GEOGRAPHY TEACHER AS GREAT AS HE IS!! JUST WISHED MY GRADE SHOWED HOW MUCH I LOVED AND LEARNED FROM HIS CLASS!!!!!
as pretentious as a teacher can get. only take him if you like hearing a narcissit talk about themselves
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE A FULL CLASS SCHEDULE, TESTS ARE HARD AND NEED TO TAKE NOTES AND LISTEN. LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS THAT HE USES.
Mr. Ebiner is an exlt teacher because although there is alot of info to cover, he makes it interesting with his pics from all around the world. Also he only focuses on the facts that will be on the test. He will give you tips on how to remember facts, will always repeat himself twice and always ask if there are any questions before he moves on.
This is a continuation of the last comment, furthermore he is extremely organized & grades test & assinments mmiediatly. He even has a website where you can see the powerpoint presentation that will be covered in class, but its not a substitute for coming to class. This website is great for studying for tests & to review pics...continued...
..continued..He is great about returning emails & answering any questions you may have.Is very easy going and has a great sense of humor. Very respectful and professional as well. I would not say this is an easy class because the material is not hard to understand, its just that you do have to study to get a good grade. I used a tape recorder..an
I think Mr. Ebiner should be teaching other teachers how to teach. I loved his powerpoint presentation, he travels everywhere so he has funny stories to share with the class, & he is super organized, sticks to the syllibus which I appreciated. I wish he was teaching Geology, I am seriously considering taking another geography class, He gets an A+!
Mr. E is awesome. I wouldn't say his class is easy because you do have to work hard, but I will say it's fulfilling. For me that is the point of going to school. He is professional and informative and yet manages to be pleasant and funny, too. If you want to learn and have fun, take him. If you are lazy, don't waste his time.
I just loved how he himself was so well-informed about the topic; his enthusiasm also made the class one of the best ones I have taken at school. His lectures are clear, not that many homeworks given, tests are graded immediately.
This teacher is the best teacher i've had. I also think he is rated #1 geo teacher in the state of California. He gives a lot of notes (so is not good to miss class) but all the notes are clear and help a lot to study for the test. If you take notes and show up to class you will do good on his class. i really recomend Mr. Ebiner.
This is a great teacher and his lectures are not boring, but you will earn your grade. He makes geography enjoyable and has an excellent web-site. The class is both informitive and practical. I highly recommend this teacher. He is one of the best teachers I have had.
Mr Ebiner is the Geography teacher that I ever met in my life. He is very clear, his lectures are very interesting because they are based in his travel experiences. His stories are quite funny. I would recommend him. There is a lot of studying in his class and don't miss any of his classes. It is not hard at all if you do your part as a student.
Mr. Ebiner rocks! I can't wait to take more of his classes. I wasn't planning on having a minor, but now I think I will be picking up Geography. Quite a bit of studying involved, but well worth it :) Wonderful class that helps open your eyes to things beyond what we know. Thanks Mr. Ebiner, keep up the great work :)
So much laughs and fun in a class. So much valuable Information, too!
prior to this class, I wasn't that interested in geography. Mr. Ebiner is one of the most awesome professors I have encountered at ECC. I've ben there for 6 yrs, and I will definitely be minoring in GEO. take a class with him you wont regret it! u rock EBINER!!!
I would recommend this pro to anyone who want to take Geo classes. You take class to learn, not for fun so he is the right one who will make you study right.
Not hard if you do the work. Very interesting and he really enjoys what he does
Great teacher. Very clear about requirements, very organized. As an assignment you will need to pick 5 good articles from LA times and write about them. And also watch one of the movies from the list and then write about geo stuff in it. The lectures are powerpoints with his own great pictures from all over the world. Tests are based on powerpoints
Highly recommended.
Very interesting lectures. Attendance a must. Tests mostly on lectures, but read the assignments also. Test are a little tricky, but over all I learned alot and had fun in his class.
this class was my favorite. love his lectures. test are so easy u just have to read the book ahead of time n study his notes for the test oh n learn ur maps..dont be scared u will have fun hearing his stories around the world n u better work hard on the newspaper n video assignments because he kind of grades hard if u dont put all the details.
I chose this class because it was required, but was pleasantly surprised. His passion for the subject definitely drew me in and made the class interesting and easy to digest. He grades fairly. If you put in a bit of time and review your class notes you should do very well. He is a great instructor and I recommend him.
If you are a lazy student you might not want to take his class but the material isn't extremely difficult. Overall he is a great professor that takes pride in his work and answers all of the student's question.
He's my favorite professor at El Camino. His lectures keep you interested. He has been to many different countries and has hilarious stories. You definitely can't be absent more than twice because you learn a lot in one day. Tests are not hard... but not easy either. You just have to go through your notes once or twice before the tests.
I wish all instructors taught like him! He is so organized with the notes they are all on powerpoint. He uses personal pictures and tells funny stories in every class. I learn so much from him and suggest students take his class even if they don't need it.
I got a C on the class but thats because i slacked off, i didnt use a textbook, just study your notes and you'll be fine. class is alright kinda boring but can be cool sometimes. if your lazy dont take this class
Excellent professor! Very organized notes with powerpoint presentations. You learn so much and you have a great time doing so. If you're lazy, don't take this class. You have 5 exams, 1 newspaper article, and 1 video report. Attendance is mandatory. This professor has a great personality which makes the class enjoyable. Take him - it's worth it!
He's very organized, but a bit dry most of the time IMO. He's very detailed and specific on his tests and they get harder and harder. I think that this just was not my subject as I studied a ton but still had a hard time with the maps - and there are A LOT of them. He's pretty nice, good luck to you if you take his class!
Excellent instructor. His lectures are very organized and crystal clear. He doesn't inject personal bias into his lectuers. There are no surprises on his tests. He is a very fair grader. I wish everyone taught like this.
As long as you go to class and stay awake, you'll pass. He REALLY hates it when students are not paying attention. His class is pretty interesting and fun. Oh and dont buy the textbook... never used it once and passed. Just buy the notebook that's required. He has a special notebook that he uses for notes. That's all you need.
You need his notebook for study, but you also need the text book to look at map! Hard class, but easy to get the good grade. All the answers on the test are in the notebook!
he loves geography and tell stories about his traveling adventures to which it helps you picture certain location you are to study about. The only thing you need to do is pay attention to what you are studying otherwise it will be tricky. I highly recommend him.
Great teacher. It's an easy A if you study. Professor Ebiner makes his own slides that you use in class. He's been to hundreds of countries and the photos he uses are all his. Just memorize memorize the slides before the tests. He is challenging, but if you are a good student, then you will love his class.
I can't stress enough how great he is! He makes you want to travel the world. You learn so much and it makes you so much more aware of the world. He is truly one of El Camino's finest!
He's an awesome professor, but don't expect cakewalk. Exams mostly and no notes, books, and such are ever allowed. There is plenty of memorization involved among world aspects that are taught in order to do well on exams. This is not an easy class, so study very hard and try to memorize up to your best. Good luck all.
BEST TEACHER EVER!Ebiners style of teaching is exactly the way I learn...I wish he could teach all classes maybe then I would be a straight A student! Do yourself a favor and take at least one class with him before you graduate.
Professor Ebiner was the best! He was very helpful in understanding the material and I learned a lot! Second time taking the course and I did really well! I would recommend taking him 100 percent! Michisha Jiles (Fall 2009)
Chose this class randomly, just needed it for credits but it ended up being my favorite of the semester. He loves to teach and he is funny as well. Pretty easy just take notes. Learned a lot and gave me an interest in travel as well. Would definitely recommend!
Would definitely recommend! It was a fun class and I enjoyed it. Never looked once to see what time it was the entire semester.
Awesome teacher. He makes class a lot of fun, and interesting. It's not overly easy though, there is a LOT of memorization. But you end up learning a lot. If you study, you should do fine. I highly recommend taking him.
He makes the class interesting with his knoledge of the subject. He doen't only talk about the places around the world he uses his life experences to make the class fun. If you want to learn something take this professor!
An excellent instructor. A must-take if you're attending El Camino.
He's very knowledgeable. His lectures are very clear and his notebook is easy to use. Tests are HARD, study for them. The textbook is useless, don't buy it. The tests come from his notes. You really can't afford to miss any classes, though.
He is one of the best professors I've taken so far! The exams are completely based on his lectures so take good notes, review them and memorize the maps and you'll do fine on the exams. He tells some of the best stories from his traveling experiences so class is never boring and from time to time he'll have some interesting pictures ;] Take him!!
He is the most interesting teacher I've had my entire time at El Camino. He's been everywhere he's talked about, and the stories he tells are incredible. A must take teacher and class.
Ebiner is AWESOME! He's extremelyyy passionate about geography and makes the subject very interesting for all majors! Book is NOT needed..just write EVERYTHING he has on power point. DON'T be late or absent, and you'll easily get an A and learn soo much!! Would definately take him again and even thinking about going on a trip with him very soon! (he has his own company) Good luck! You won't regret it!!
great teacher! tells stories about the countries he's been to and always makes the class fun but he does move kind of fast in the course. really stay on top of your work, because he won't bump up your grade if you're borderline.
Great professor!! Highly recommended. Looking forward to take any other of his class's just for personal interest or for fun. Very interesting/unique way of teaching. Always with a smile ;)
If you need to take Geography, you need to take it with Ebiner. Real great teacher. He is very passionate about his work. You would learn the most from this teacher. Like any other class you definitely most study. In the end is well worth it
This is a fun GE class to take, the teacher covers everything thats going to be on the exams. It's easy to get an A if you really have the passion for the subject and want to understand the world geography. He shares his experiences with the class and make it a fun class to attend.
Pretty good teacher, very knowledgeable and interesting because hes traveled to most of the countries in the world so he really knows what hes talking about... Recomended
I was not interested in Geo before this class. He has traveled to pretty much all of the countries he discusses during the course. I highly recommend his class. He makes if fun and interesting with his travel stories, which he brings up to make the class more interesting. He is knowledgeable about the different countries. Pay attention & u pass.
Strongly recommend this instructor. The workbook needed is only a few dollars and extremely helpful in order to study for quizzes. Class is interesting especially with the material being covered. Cons(this can be a Pro!)two alternate class sessions held in Monrovia and Manhattan Beach. Ebiner has pictures and stories that can be enjoying.
Prof Ebiner is soooo amazingg .. I'm so glad I took his class.. Be on time, listen to his lectures, take note of them and you'll do fine. Would definitely take him again if I have the chance.
I strongly recommend taking Professor Ebiner for Geography 5. His class was very interesting and fun because you get to learn about all different kinds of countries, cities, and cultures. At the class, it seems like you just traveled around the world in just a couple of months. I really liked his class.
hands down one of the best classes ive taken at el camino. his lectures are so interesting and you learn so much about the world from someone whose basically been everywhere. take him if you get the chance
A great professor who teaches from an experiential perspective. He has visited most of the countries we learned about. He's also a great guy with a humorous personality. You need to attend each class for the lecture because it's all on the test.
The most organized teacher ever
Fun class, but quite difficult. The maps are basically the only assignments, but they are very time consuming, and it is hard to get them done and THEN study for the test. Which you should do. Before taking the final, I realized I couldn't get an A, but it would be impossible to get less than a B, and for some reason, I ended up with a C. :/
This class isn't hard AT ALL. Professor Ebiner is SUCH a good teacher, and he actually knows what he's talking about. I thought the class was super interesting, maybe that's why I didn't think it was hard, because I actually wanted to learn in that class. Take this class, my favorite so far!
Amazing teacher, very clear and funny. Explains everything properly and has a great class lecture prepared.
Took the honors course and this is by far my fave honors class! You don't need the textbook at all, all you need is really good notes. Attendance is a must so don't miss a lecture esp if you want to get an A! The lectures are fun so take good notes and memorize them and you'll easily ace his exams. This really isn't a hard class. Easy A!
Very interesting class. Just study notes from lecture and the exam's are easy A's. I didn't read any sections in the textbook all semester; just attended every class, studied my notes, and completed assigned maps, and I got an A.
The best prof I had at elco hands down. Had lots of funny stories about most of the places he covers. You only need his notebook for the class and its only like $13 in the bookstore. Lectures cover everything that's going to be on the test. Minimal homework, basically just coloring maps. Posts grades online so you don't have to wait for results.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! highly recommend. You will learn a lot and it will be fun and interesting. Very organized and clear on what he wants. The textbook was helpful for the maps and to fill in discrepancies in my notes. . Passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. A is not difficult if you apply yourself and study.
such a cool guy. has traveled to 95% of the world and his lectures are based on where hes been. his stories and powerpoints are amazing. dont need textbook, but do need packet. study hard and youll pass. not a class to sleep through. you learn a lot about the world and its well worth it. totally worth your time to go to class, you won't regret it!
Wow this professor should be in dose Equis beer ommercials for the most interesting man, what a character his life is incredible, his class is great, lectures are super organized, I saved all my notes this is one of those information for life classes. I took him honors and my only complaint is h grades ridiculously hard but I learned so much!!!
He's really nice and you learn a lot about the world. His lectures are interesting and he shares many funny stories. My complaint about his class is he makes us do pointless assignments like a poster. Really? I thought middle school was over...He also asks a lot of non geography related questions on tests like names of dictators. Still a decent guy
This class was great. I really enjoyed it. His exams are pretty easy, he is a harsh grader in the write ups. Be specific whenever he asks a question in an exam or assignment. Do not miss any class session, they are very helpful during the test. It is necessary. I received a B in the course.
He is a great professor overall....however, the test are somewhat difficult and he asks for detail answers... Must do the field trip it's worth it
Very nice teacher, if you can't attend class, he might let you attend his other class, obviously with previous permission. Be very respectful in his class, he hates when people text or fall asleep. You must study your maps before taking the tests.
very nice teacher. i loved his class, his lectures are amazing and super interesting you'll never get bored. you learn about cool places around the world and about life. take him! but you have to study study for exams. super easy i got an A.
I took his honors class and to my surprise it was pretty difficult. If you're looking for an easy A this definitely is not the class you want to take. Don't get me wrong though, you learn A LOT and it's a lot of fun because hes been everywhere! But his exams are difficult and you have to really study hard. Especially for the final
You need to study hard for his honors class. You need to remember everything he says in class. tests are multiple choice, fill in the blank, and labelling of a map. This is my third year at el camino and this is my first B in a general education class. but if you study hard and memorize names and locations, you'll do fine.
Ebiner class is alil difficult. He is not an easy A. But his class is very interesting. i recommend after every class make note card and study each section the week you get them. overall
I loved this class! It was incredibly interesting. He has many photos & funny stories he adds to the lectures which makes everyone want to go to all the countries he has visited. 5 tests & 1 final & 9 video reports & 8 maps. You must write down everything he says and memorize it all b/c his tests are not easy. You must know it to do well. Take him!
He was alright...don't even need to attend the class. He just repeats what he wrote in the notes. Asks dumb questions on the test and tries to confuse you. Which I don't understand since it's a geography class. He tells you where places are and some random dumb facts about the place. He then tries to trick you on tests. Pretty easy class though.
This class is easy and you learn a lot of interesting facts. All you have to do is study the power point slides. There shouldn't be any confusion on the tests, of course if you study well. Don't buy the book. Definitely recommend you take this class :)
I took his honors course this spring and let me tell you, this was one of *the most rigorous GE classes I've ever taken. I had to put in so many hours of work to get just nudge enough points to get an A. Study, study, study. Ebiner is the best geography instructor you will ever come across but he does not make it easy.
Professor Ebiner has been to 142 countries and he sure knows a lot. The class is so interesting, BUT it is way too hard for a GE class. I received my first B in this class this whole year. He is a harsh grader so be prepared. You will learn A LOT though.
I took this class for fun, and ended up getting a B (I'm a straight A student). I don't regret it. I learned more from this class than any other. Because I took it for fun, I didn't respect it enough to put enough effort in at first and lost the points to get an A. The tests are hard and tricky, but THIS CLASS SHOULD BE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST.
I think Geography is NOT an important class, and Ebiner makes it UNREASONABLY difficult because he wants to feel like his class means more than Biology or Chemistry, it NEVER will. He's insecure and I couldn't care less regarding his travels. Nobody wins a Nobel prize for hopping on a plane and having someone take their picture abroad. He's sad
He is a great professor, with many cool adventures under his belt. His lectures are really easy to understand, and the labs are pretty straightforward. You can't really slack off, but there isn't much work besides in class. He is helpful when you are confused but wont give you the answer. I would definitely suggest taking him!
I never thought i would take a geography class but honestly it was one of ,if not, the most interesting class I have taken at El Camino. This class explains a lot of the history, politics, culture that you learn in other courses. I took the night section so attendance and taking notes is a must. Study two weeks prior the exams with flashcards.
He is a very organized professor. He lectures the whole class but it is not boring. He covers everything on the test in his lectures, and there should not be to many surprises on the test. He makes you purchase a book to write notes in. The book is basically the power-point, and helps a lot.
Professor Ebiner's lectures are very interesting and he keeps the class engaged by sharing his personal experiences of all the travels he has accomplished. There is a lot of studying to do and all test grades are posted online. I recommend Mr. Ebiner.
I would suggest if you care at all about your GPA pick a different class. Don't get me wrong his class has some very interesting points but they are then followed by very dull points as he teaches right off of his powerpoints. The information taught in class is simple but on the tests he will do anything he can to trick you the avg grade is a C
Lectures are very long. He provides a crystal clear grading criteria and is always happy to answer questions.
The class is 3 hours long, but I doubt you will need all that time. Some of the labs are difficult, but he is there to answer all your questions. He guides you in what to specifically study for before a test. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
Attendance is mandatory BC you definitely miss out on a lot in just one day. He has been the best prof ever! He makes the class really interesting with his stories. Tests are not hard just study.
This is the most fun class I have ever taken at El Camino College. Matt Ebiner is a very energetic teacher and you will enjoy his lectures. I love this class because you get to learn about countries from all around the world. I recommend taking Geography 5 Honors with Ebiner because you'll get a chance to create a poster on your favorite country
Matt Ebiner made me changed my major to geography, he's class really amazing. Pay attention in class, review powerpoint and maps can help you get A. I got A, and I had the best score in the class. I enjoyed his lecture, all powerpoint pictures from his own travel and it is a super interesting. I wish i can take his class again!!!
Best teacher and class I have taken at this school. He is an amazing professor and has so many interesting stories of the 100+ countries he has visited. Class is 100% lecture, and all test questions are taken directly from the notes he gives.
Very tought class. Maybe not for everyone but if you'll be taking up to 4 different classes in the semester like I was, then I don't recommend you take it. Although he is the only teacher that was teahing it in the semester I took it. Lectures are awesome but you'll have to invest hours of studying to be able to pass. Make sure to do all the maps!
I looked forward to coming to Professor Ebiner's class every week. He is such a great guy and has the best stories. Highly recommend this class because it is entertaining, inspirational and not that difficult. Professor Ebiner is a fantastic story teller and has so many to tell. 10/10
I thought this class was going to be close to impossible, but Professor Ebiner makes sure that you get all of the info you need. You don't use a text book you only have to buy book he created($16) that is used during the lectures. Take good notes and study study study, if you don't you won't pass. His test are kind of challenging. Don' skip class!
Professor Ebiner is awesome! His lectures are very interesting. You will learn a lot of interesting things. All tests are based on lectures, so you should take notes from the slideshows. You should memorize names of countries/cities. It is not very hard to get A in this class if you study your notes and follow his instructions.
Matt E. is a very good lecturer. He is Smart, experience, captivating; however, his tests are artificially hard for Geo. I've taken 3 of his classes only 5 students got an A and you can tell a lot of his tests are tricky. It's almost as if he is trying to validate Geography an inflate the trickiness of the tests. Don't take his class if you a B stu
Love this class so much! It's not all about learning where places are but the people who live in those places and Prof Ebiner has seen in all. He always has a great story to tell about his travels. Definitely have to take his class if you ever get the chance. Study for the tests because they can be tricky!
Mr. Ebiner is really one of a kind, he's made this one of my favorite classes by far. Try not to miss days- he lectures every class, so if you don't go you'll miss a lot of information. Study, study, study!!! The tests are lecture heavy, so make sure to pay attention in class. His stories and enthusiasm really make you look forward to class.
Professor Ebiner is the best prof. I've had. I loved all his classes. He's kind, has great stories, & knows what he's talking about. His classes really inspire you to explore the world. All the information is in power points, but he will tell you to write more/not just whats in the p.p. so pay attention! Tests can be tricky, so study hard/show up.
TAKE HIS CLASS he is the best professor, he is inspirational and will help you out if you are having a tough time... his lectures are composed of his travels and very interesting stuff, this class is not boring and really easy
Professor Ebiner is a hard professor whose tests are something you really need to study for. He makes you work for it and if you skip class you miss a lot of important stuff.
Mr. Ebiner is a really good teacher! This class is based on the lecture so if you don't get the notes, you will have a very hard time on the tests. The tests come straight from the notes so it is quite a bit of memorization. This class is tough but if you put in the effort, listen during lecture, and study you will be able to pass the class.
Its fun to see photos that he has taken traveling the world and to listen to the stories. Concerning difficulty, I really dont understand why everyone doesnt get an A. Easy tests and simple homework...
Professor Ebiner's class is an odd one. It is actually quite more difficult than I expected and the tests asks questions based off the slightest of details in the powerpoint. Overall though, he really loves what he is doing and I learned so much about the world.
Not the class for an easy A, but an A is totally doable! Make sure you take good notes in class as it's the small details in lecture that will be showing up on exams. Study his slides and memorize the maps he hands out. As a heads up, there's a lot of coloring and his honors section has an additional project. Super engaging prof.
My favorite professor! I want to take his another classes again maybe at next Spring semester. For me his class is so easy, very interesting lectures based by his personal experiences which makes it easy to learn information about another countries. I love to do maps. If you can do maps in class during lecture, there is no homework.
Phenomenal class. I'm really learning a lot this semester and Professor Ebiner's lectures are very engaging.
Matt Ebiner is my fave prof at El Camino. He's been to over 150 countries, so taking him for world regional geography was an optimal decision. Almost all of the photos in his power point slides have been taken by him on his travels and he usually has a funny story to go with it. His notes are easy to follow,& he's very passionate about his subject!
No textbook, but purchasing the notebook with lecture slides is highly recommended. Really nice and caring professor who takes time to know everyone by name. He is VERY clear about his grading criteria, and gives students more than enough opportunities to improve their grade via extra credit and participation points.
For someone who knew NOTHING about geography, this ended up being my favorite class Ive ever taken at El Camino. You definitely need to put in work by studying hard for the 50 question exams but theres no trick question. They ALL come from the lectures! You will definitely not be bored in his class! Get ready for some cool travel stories!
Obviously an A wont be handed to you on a silver platter, but this class was one of the most memorable classes Ive taken so far! Ive learned so many cool things and the classes are always really interesting.
He is Awesome! I took him this Spring and classes were never boring. Most of the pictures on his slideshows were actually taken by him which I found cool and an awesome experience. It's a lot of information to intake, but studying and doing the maps really help. He's easy to approach if you ever have questions. I suggest taking him!
His class is awesome. He teaches his class with so much passion from all of his personal experiences. As long as you study, the tests are very easy. Probably the best professor I've had so far.
Best class
An inspirational professor. I've learned loads from him and he is one of the nicest professors i've had. He has been almost everywhere on earth and knows his stuff. I took the night class and it was totally worth it. Highly recommend!
He's traveled to 150+ countries so he knows exactly what he's teaching. Little/no homework (and grades very leniently). Lectures are very engaging & easily digestible with slides posted on his website. Kahoot games every now and then. No textbook used. Would like more extra credit. Highly recommend!
Ebiner makes this class harder than it has to be, he starts class earlier than it should and he's the only professor I know that gives assigned seats. If you are 0.01% away from a better letter grade he won't help you, he grades extra credit and participation. GEO5H does not meet the GED requirement don't take this class take Geo1, thank me later!!
Professor Ebiner was one of the best professors I've had so far in my college career. Don't listen to the review below he doesn't know what he's talking about. First of all, Ebiner doesn't start class early, he starts right on time since there's so much to learn about. You can choose any seat of your choice and that'll be your seat for the semester
Professor Ebiner is an inspirational, dedicated instructor whose primary purpose is to educate students. This class, if you do everything you should, will be an enriching experience. Just do your job: show up, take notes, do the maps, and you will succeed. Some studying may be necessary, but it's a very straightforward class.
I took Ebiner a while back but his lectures still stick with me. He's an amazing lecturer which makes this class very enjoyable but he really puts you to work. Your grade is made up of your map hw & tests. Maps aren't difficult to do but they are quite time consuming. Tests are also very hard because of the sheer volume of info so study hard!
Ebiner is such a great geography professor. His lectures are very interesting and all the pictures in them are taken by him. His tests are a bit challenging but if you make sure you study you'll be fine. He's easy to access outside of class which was very helpful, especially this semester.
Prof. Ebiner uses his own travels as basis for many of the lectures. Geography 5 covers the whole world, but most areas will feel as if you've been there in person because of the personal stories he adds when he discusses them. He can come across as strict, he really just wants you to learn geography. Take this class to travel the world from home.
Professor Ebiner is one of the best professors at Elco. He made the transition to online extremely smooth for his students and I still felt like I was getting the same quality of education. You need to work for an A in the class but it is totally doable.
it sucks that we don't have lab on campus and ONLINE he makes it so damn hard he doesn't even give us easy work knowing that were in a pandemic knowing that we don't understand none of these he should had made it easy to learn and understand ):
Ughhh I usually dont talk bad about a professor but this is a challenging time that were in and hes makes everything difficult and is not an easy grader doesnt even give us anything easy to pick up our grade plus he doesnt even do zoom classes he just puts the work out and you gotta figure it out yourself dont take this class if you want an F
This class is honestly hard, the content of the class is very straight forward and interesting but the professor is a very hard grader. If you take this class you should make sure you are up to date with the notes and make sure you know the content. He does not give a lot of time on tests and quizzes. Some have the time limit of 2 mins. Good luck
AMAZING! He provides labs that you can print out and his video explanation. Exams are easy, just review the labs. He also answers questions in a clear manner. 10/10 would take his class again.
One of my favorite courses. The class had the lectures online but watch them and take note and you will notice that a lot is said in the tests. There is few participation points and the test is the mostly important bit. Best Professor ever!
Professor Ebiner is a true legend. Hes a sophisticated gentleman, but dont let that fool you. Once you see the photos in his lecture, youll see that this man is as adventurous as it gets. Hes nuts- God knows I dont have the courage (or money) to do 1/2 of what this man has done. All lectures are personally connected to him. Hes amazing.
Professor Ebiner is an amazing professor. He motivates you to travel the places that he lectures. His lectures are based on the places he has visited which I think is pretty awesome and amazing . I took him 3 times. you need to work hard for an A. Do not miss class. This class is online and he is extremely organized unlike other professors.
Prof. Ebiner is one of the most amazing professors in ECC. I took him twice. He teaches geography so well and his lectures are so fun. He took almost all the photos he showed in class as he travelled to so many countries. You do have to do work in his class but if you do them all and show that you studied, you will easily get an A. Take him! :D
Prof. Ebiner is great. He's very passionate about Geography, as most Geog teachers are. There is one online lab a week. Takes about 1-2 hours max. He makes it very easy to complete, and very easy to learn. I took his lab only, and a different professors GEOG1 class, and it did not matter. You can still answer his labs without taking his main class.
Hands down one of the BEST professors Ive had while at El Camino. Hes passionate about what hes teaching and he goes above and beyond for his students. Definitely would take his class again
Best professor I have taken so far! The work is clearly set up and he gives you enough time to watch all the lectures leading up to the tests. I highly recommend you do buy the notebook he made. Its not expensive at all and its super helpful when studying. The lectures are very interesting and has his own pictures on almost every slide.
I loved this online class. Professor provided his own lab manual free. He gives interactive pre-recorded lectures you follow along with and answer questions. You take virtual tours and follow along. He does lock down browser on test & as long as you did the homework youll do good on text. Its open bk. Ask him questions & comment 4 points!
Taking professor Ebiners course was amazing because I personally got to learn about the world and seen the beautiful sceneries and photoshop Professor Ebiner is a amazing teacher and I would fully recommend students to take his course to learn about the world.
I had a great time and enjoyed all semester!!
Professor Ebiner doesn't go out of his way to make the class hard. The lectures are fun and entertaining and he's also been to most of the places he lectures about so he provides a lot of cool pictures and insight. As long as you watch the lectures and take notes, the tests will be straight from the lectures. If you keep up with the work, it's easy
Fantastic instructor. Without a doubt a true inspiration. The lectures may take some time to take notes on and the maps can be a little time consuming but all exams are fair and the effort necessary is still very low. Stay on top of it and be consistent; you'll go through the class with flying colors.
This is the second class I took with Ebiner. The syllabus and Canvas modules are well structured and the class, in general, is pretty straightforward. Not much extra credit in case you're relying on that. I recall having 15 weekly labs (the lowest is dropped). If you already completed GEOG 1 then this class will feel like a repeat. Solid choice!
Loved this class! Professor Ebiner is the BEST Professor I have had so far at ECC. This is a very educational class so be prepared to learn about Geography. But also be prepared to learn in a very fun and enlighten way. This class takes you on a journey like no other. Great class and outstanding Professor.
Pre-recorded lectures, not bad tbh. Get ready to take notes though, 1 min / exam question. Easy assignments, even easier exams - if you put some time into it. Overall, great prof! I would take again.
Prof. Ebiners class was so much fun, even though it was online, I enjoyed it a lot. You can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches when going over the lectures. His work is very straightforward and so easy to complete if you follow along and take notes. I recommend taking this class. You will learn a lot about many places. Great class!
Prof. Ebiner is a very cool person and incredibly easy to talk to. His life is like a movie, and his insight and experiences give way for incredible lessons to be learned. He made the class enjoyable and motivated me to finish strong. It is a bummer he is retiring, but I will never forget him or the interesting little things I learned along the way
Lets get this straight Professor Ebiner is the best professor at El Co. He has the best grading criteria and its very easy to understand that. His lectures are very fascinating as he tells his life stories in them. If you watch the lectures and take notes, youll get an A. This was my favorite class.
Professor Ebiner is definitely an amazing professor, especially because of his many experiences. What I absolutely love about the class is that he's had first-hand experience on the world by visiting over 140 COUNTRIES!! so you definitely know youre getting a deal. You can definitely tell he loves geography and is very inspiring in his lectures.
So far, I had top 2 greatest instructors in El Camino, but now I have top 3 , and that includes Matt Ebiner. His class can be simple as long as you don't fall behind. He does not give study guides for a test, but then you will understand that you really don't need one. He is really inspiring, if anything he inspired me to travel.
Professor Ebiner is truly the best professor I have ever had. He loves what he does and it shows. His life experiences make the class and lectures so unique. He has so much to offer, definitely take his class and make it a priority. I wish I could take this class again just for fun.
I took his class many many moons ago but I never forgot this one professor Matt avenue. He made me feel like the world wasn't so big after all and he made me feel like I connected to All humans and he gave me the love for travel and curiosity and the love...humanity and the world's awesomeness...thank you Mr Ebiner
