Professor Hinckley is easygoing, fair and funny. He explains big picture concepts using everyday examples. As long as you read the assigned readings and come to class prepared to discuss the material with your fellow classmates, you should earn an A in the class. I earned an A in both his HIST 1301 and 1302.

I took Mr. Hinckley's online HIST 1301 and 1302. You get the choice to take a test or write a 2-3 page essay for each of the 4 units. Tests are based on the textbook. Essays let you to include your opinion on historical events. You also make discussion board posts for each unit. Read and you'll be pleased with your grade.

US History 1301...Mr Hinckley took a subject that is boring and made it interesting! Great instructor, also he's a young person with a lot of knowledge on other subjects besides history as well. He likes to tell some true experiences that he's had in life. He is an instructor that wants to help you succeed!

Mr. Hinckley is the BEST history teacher I've ever had. This was a repeat course for me so I expected to earn about a C average. I worked hard and earned my A! Mr. Hinckley was extremely helpful anytime I had question. High recommended!!

He is the first teacher i have ever had that successfully mixed jokes and fun and still gave us more than the opportunity to ace the class. What a great teacher! I took him for wintermester and the class was a breeze. He is very clear with all the work. He gives you enough material to study. I enjoyed the videos he incorporated in his online course. I learned so much in 2 1/2 weeks. I would definitely recommend him. He should teach other teachers how to conduct an online course!

I took the class online and it was pretty easy. I took it during Maymester so it was very fast paced, but I still made a B. The test are easy if you read the material. Plus if you don't like your grade you can write an essay instead. I would take another class with Prof. Hinckley as the teacher.

I took this class online during the Spring flexterm. If you follow the syllabus and read your assigned chapters the class is a breeze. You are allowed open book and open notes for all tests. Prof. Hinckley cares about your success and will work with you if you have something come up that might delay your work. Great teacher!Book is online and free.

He makes you want to learn. Very smart and wise man. Funny, very charismatic, peoples person, its like he's up on a comedy stage but he's giving an educational piece to it. Highly recommended by me and by other history teachers.

I took Mr. Hinckley for HIST 1301 and 1302 and his course has a lot of reading, but the test are open book so it helps to read. He sets out the requirements of the course at the beginning and you can work ahead. This flex term class was a wonderful decision for me and I would recommend Mr. Hinckley to any student. It's an A but you have to work.

He is an awesome teacher, and is definitely willing to help you out no matter what the situation is.

Highly recommend, and I wish other professors would get it, using an affordable textbook makes all the difference in whether students can buy the book and read it. And the book was interesting-I am keeping mine and finishing it this summer.

This class was my first online class and it could have not gone better. He is truly an awesome person. He is very clear with assignments responds to emails fairly quickly and love what he does! He is very encouraging. One of the best professors i have came through! Totally recommend him!

I enjoyed his online fall course. It was pretty much at our own pace since we had ample time to complete each of the 4 units. Even though it was online he was very active in communicating with the students and very quick to answer emails. He seems like a very nice person and a great professor. I am sure I would enjoy his on-campus class as well.

The tests are time but he gives u extra time to finish the test and if u r not happy with your grade u can write and essay in a letter form to a friend for an extra point. Super helpful. Just complete the assignments on time. Plenty of alloted time even in Summer semester. I was able to finish early. Offers extra credit per section if you do poorly on your tests; however, if you read and complete your discussion boards and responses you will be prepared for the test. This is the easiest class I have ever taken in my life. I took the online flex course and we had 2 exams 30 questions each + 1 essay paper worth 20%. You get 90 minutes to solve the 30 questions and you can use all resources to get answers. Moreover, his grading is super easy. Take this class online for easy A.

I could not have asked for a better professor. The way he teaches, it's amazing. It doesn't even feel like a lecture. He is hilarious and makes history interesting. He responds quickly to emails, very helpful, and provides extra credit opportunities. The entire class consisted of 3 quizzes, and 1 final essay. He also has video lessons that help.

Hinckley taught really well and I enjoyed his class. However, make sure you show up and most importantly, read the textbook! You will do pretty poorly if you don't read. Also, there is an EOY essay. If you don't mind reading a bit for a better grade and a great lecture, this class is definitely for you.

Took this course online and Professor Hinckley was very helpful if assistance was needed. We only took two test and a paper. So just do well on the test and papers because they are worth a lot. Even while being an online student he was very inspirational and responsive.

Very easy class, there are only 2 50 question test untimed online, and one final essay which is fairly easy. 20% of the grade is participation. No other homework, or quizzes, just test and read.

I took History 1&2 online, therefore I did not have much interaction with the professor. I can tell you that his class is straight forward and the tests is easy he give you enough time for each test ex: 25 question with 60 minutes to complete and all the test are multiple choice. Take Prof. Hinckley you will not regret it.

Content: 6 DB (reply to 9 students in total), 2 exams (YES YOU CAN FIND THE ANSWERS ONLINE), and a final paper he is a really nice teacher so he will give you all the points if your work makes sense. Matt is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable professor who makes sure that every class is entertaining and fun. He literally stands up on tables and shows memes in class. You will definitley want to read through the textbook in order to pass the tests, but the essays are incredibly easy. Highly reccomend.

I am not a big fan of History, however professor hinckley made the class very interesting and not boring at all. I took him for winter course and even though the class was 3 hours long, it went by so quickly because he made class fun. No assignments or homework just tests which are not timed. The final is an 800 word essay which is super easy!

Show up do 2 exams (30) questions each online and write an easy essay and you got your A! He also works with you and understand if you can not make it to class!

I passed with a 93 (B) but I took His 1302 with him again and passed with an A. He literally gives you the whole class homework ahead of time and you work at your pace before the course ends. Absolutely LOVED Professor Hinckley. I would suggest showing up to class because it makes the tests and discussions a breeze (as long as you take notes), plus he's so fun in class and I was never bored. However, if you don't show up, you will still pass. Easy A as long as you just participate - super simple. Great lectures too, I loved his class.

I took professor Hinckley's class in spring 2020, unfortunately classes went online (due to corona) before the class ever started, I was nervous as it was my first online class, thankfully he made everything straight forward, had extra credit assignments if needed and was super understanding of the circumstances everyone was placed in.

Professor Hinckley is fantastic. Funny during lectures but also gives the information necessary. He is also very accessible by email and during his office hours. There are short videos to watch outside of class to inform along with the book and the lectures. As for the book, I skimmed it and got an A+. Easy class, helpful professor.

I took this class for fall and it was great!!!! Many of us were having problems with our book online but he always managed to help and gives us feedback. Due to this he gave us an extension on assignments till the last day of course to turn it for full credit. He was awesome and very understanding.

EASY A. His class is so straightforward. mini 5 question quiz (open book), discussion board and a activity with mini questions based on maps. The book and activity book are needed. He has the assignments unlocked from day 1, so you can pace yourself. All grades are due the last day of class. Also, no midterm or final exam.

I was nervous about taking these classes but thankfully he made it easy by opening the class up ahead and letting us work at our own pace. I actually loved his classes and learned a lot. He grades as you go and you will know where you are in class!

Pretty chill professor. Never used the book. Short quizzes, somewhat short readings, map questions, no exams, no paper. What better thing can you ask from a teacher. Just do the work on time and you should be fine. Not the easiest A I have ever gotten, but still pretty easy.

This was an entirely online class and he opened it 100% on Day 1. He didn't give regular feedback, but grades were quickly provided and if I emailed him, he responded in under 24 hours. Sometimes I asked for help, sometimes I just needed clarification. I loved him so much I'm taking him again for a 2 week class, and if taught govt, I'd take it too!

Prof. Hinckley was amazing! Everything was posted on the first day of class, and was open book. It may seem like a lot of work when you first look at the syllabus (Mayterm class here), but its all pretty simple. No papers, and no exams. IMO, its an easy A. He is also quick to respond if you have any questions. I would take his class again anytime!

Great Professor! Amazing lectures, and very funny guy. I took the 8 week hybrid course, so attendance was not mandatory. Lots of reading and HW, but simple and straight forward. There is no way that you could fail this course.

7 lessons, each has 1 quiz, 1 discussion board, & 1 journal entry. They also each have a ton of reading and watching a ton of videos, but if you take this class online, you don't really have to do any of that and you can just do the three graded assignments. 1 Final. Grades quickly, seems approachable if you have any questions. Do the work, easy A.

Easy professor with 7 journals and not too many quizzes in summer. 7 Discussions needed to be finished before deadlines.

I took Professor Hinckley's 8-week class, and he is super nice! The assignments each week are: a discussion board, (which, is optional if you attend class) a journal entry, and a quiz (all online). His class has been the most simple class I have taken to date. He does not set specific due dates, as long as all assignments have been turned in before the end of the course. He will let you know if an assignment/piece of assignment is missing which is very helpful. He grades very easy and all his test content can be found in the text book.

Easily made an A, not a tough grader at all. 7 Lessons which all consisted of a discussion post, quiz (no camera or lockdown browser), and a document analyzation. Final exam was just a version of a longer quiz (again, no camera or lockdown browser). Assignments open up as you go through each item in order.
