He has a lot of great info. to share BUT he does not give good tests. Tests inc. the most detailed reading assignments from book. Very specific when it comes to quizzes and tests. Arrive on time b/c he is very punctual.

He is hilarious. His ectures are not boring at all and he does them by powerpoint, so notes are easy to take. Go to class and take the notes, do the labs (lab quizes), and you will get an easy A or B! He is awesome and interesting.

Great class and his lectures were hilarious, go to class and take notes to get an A or B if not youll get a bad grade in the class.

He was so entertaining, I loved this class. He is so laid back and he shows really funny (sometimes gross) videos. His powerpoints are interesting and he really knows what he is talking about. Tests are multiple choice and easy as long as you come to class and pay attention.

VERY easy teacher, best for Science classes. The labs are not *really* required, he only checks the attendence for them and doesn't require a summary of them or anything. His lectures are entertaining, but stay along with the material and with what is in his powerpoints. The tests are easy, no studying required, book not even required, go to class.

I hate science, but i really liked his class. his lectures are really interesting and he is pretty funny. the tests are really simple as long as you study the lecture notes and the lab background. overall good teacher

Easy class, keeps it interesting. Just always show up for class, and look over labs/outside reading. You barely need a textbook at all, can easily share with someone.

As long as you take notes and study powerpoints there is no reason not to make a good grade. Great sense of humor and made class enjoyable. I highly recommend.

This class is preety easy. As long as you come to the class, you won't have hard time getting a good grade. He is so funny, just make sure you don't fall asleep cuz he'll have everyone in class stare until you wake up.

Very Good Teacher. I thought science was going to be my worst class, but it turned out to be the best and the most fun. I wish all classes were like his. Just come to class, take notes,study and when you take the test, there won't be anything "tricky". I got a "B" in the class but could have easily goten an "A" if I did the labs.

Just go to class and you wont even need to study for the tests. his exams are based on the examples he gives in his lectures. So going to class would be smart!

This class is just like his 1101. It is all you. He just teaches from his powerpoints. Go to class. take notes from lectures and movies he shows. read case studies before tests, online readings. and youll do good. Dont miss his lectures. 75% test based on them. 3 tests. no other points available. No Labs

A very nice professor, knows how to make lectures interesting. Three tests during the semester, each 45 questions, 5 of which are bonus. Gives you a guide before the test and also has a test review session, in case you have any questions. You don't have to read the entire textbook, just the case studies in it, and the power point info from class.

Hardcore power point kinda guy. Assigns readings and labs for homework. Only read the ch. introductions and don't do the labs. They take hours out of your life and he can't really ask you what your results were on the test. Read over them though and be careful, he can be tricky. Keep the book for 1102.

Good guy. You really need to study to do well in this class. Be sure to attend ALL lectures and even movies because he takes a lot of test questions from them. Other then 3 tests, there are no other assignments.

Laposata is a guy with a PHD that torments students that take SCI 1101/1102. He believes that because he has taken every single science class that all his students should be able to get an A in his class. His tests are a bit tricky so MEMORIZE everything from notes and movies. Other than that dont put up with him.

For a class that was probably created to service the uncaring masses going into fields other than science, I learned more than I thought I would. He gave great lectures and his exams fairly written. You must attend class as much of the exam materials come straight from his lectures and films. I will take him for 1102 if possible.

Excellent teacher. Always gave his attention to his students. I don't even like science but he made it so interesting and fun. He always responced to e-mails regarding the study guide, all you have to do is ask. He's not the type of teacher that you can just skip classes on. Come on people this is college and the real world. You cannot sleep 4-ever

Great teacher; really goes into detail about the topics. Puts PDF's, extra readings, and study guides on line; review sessions before every test; would advise going to class just to make sure you understand everything; labs aren't graded but he pulls questions from them to put on the test; the final isn't comprehensive! GREAT TEACHER!!!

Great professor. Lays out scientific prinicples that are useful to any citizen instead of only to science majors. Tests are not hard unless you don't come to class, almost everything comes from lectures and labs.

Anyone who has ever had problems with this guy either hasn't come to class or just doesn't study. The study guides are very useful and he's pretty clear about what are on his tests. Just go to class and read the labs and case studies...you dont even really need the book. Probably one of the easiest professors you can take.

All you have to do is go to class! real hard i know... He's a great teacher and makes sure you understand everything. Its not extemely easy but the tests are straight from the notes and everything in the class is straight forward. I made an A and i also didnt miss any classes... Recommended

Very easy! come to class and thats all you need to do! and even though you don't have to turn in the labs definitely do them because he asks a lot of questions about them on the tests. 1st test easy, 2nd hard, 3rd easy, 4th easy!

Great teacher and great person. Sarcasm is eminent yet not always evident. He keeps you listening and interested to uninteresting material. Hammers the global warming. Smart man. Go to class and study a little for an A.

Attendance isn't required but you should go anyways because test questions refer back to specific examples used in class. Make sure to do the labs and readings-they really are on the tests and don't leave early or miss movie day! He's a really good teacher. Sarcasm is eminent yet not always evident. Oh yeah on the test if he feels that the majority of the class was present!

He is a very smart guy! The whole class leads to global warming. If your not a believer before you will be after this class. The tests are a little harder then some people have refered to! You MUST go to class & do all the labs and readings. Very Interesting class.

Knows his stuff and doesn't have any unfair policies or rules. You really couldn't ask for much clearer explanations of the material. As long as you do your homework (labs, reading) and don't mind taking down a lot of notes, you're in for an easy A, cause it's not a hard class. I got a B just because I was too lazy to put in a little extra effort.

The best science teacher out of them all!! He's funny, interesting, and has a great style of teaching. His tests are very hard though. There are study guides and he is very willing to help, it's just hard tests. But I'm ok with them being a little harder since the class is actually interesting.

Laposata is so far the best professor I've had at KSU! His lectures are interesting and I learned more in this class than any other class I've taken. Expect to attend class, read case studies in the textbook, and online readings because they will be on the exams. Take him if you can. You won't regret it!

Good professor. Make sure you attend every class because he doesn't put anything online. He covers the material very well, and most of the time he doesn't go till the end of clas. THere is a lot of material to remember for the test, but as long as you study, go to class (Especially on film days, you should get an A.

he has teaching environmental science down to a science. (no pun intended)

Laposata is a great teacher. He does a great job keeping you engaged because he is a very dynamic speaker. This class is hard. You only get three tests and they are pretty challenging. No other grades. I would recommend him but you really have to show up and take good notes for an A.

Fun guy, but hard class! 3 tests, 40 mult ch questions. No attendance policy but make sure to go to class bc he doesn't post powerpoints online, but lectures are fun and engaging. and make sure to read the outside readings posted online and the chapter intros in the text bc he pulls a lot of test questions from them. posts study guides on WebCT too

Laposata was a funny guy. The tests are a little tricky but if you use the resources: textbook, outside readings, notes, and power points you should feel prepared. several movies which ARE ON THE TESTS. pretty cool guy though, he plays it fair, just don't expect pity.

I loved this class! First off, he is so funny & will wake up sleeping students and call out people but in a really funny way. He teaches great & I learned a lot from his lectures. Tests are not hard as long as you do what he tells you; notes, textbook, outside readings & movies. I made an A. Great class, I recommend him.

Although he states attendance is not mandatory, if you miss class you will miss answers on the tests. and since 3 tests are your ONLY! grades you will not do well. Go to class, PAY ATTENTION, study and you will have an A. For those of you who don't do well on tests, find another teacher. NO extra credit. Funny guy, but not helpful, use classmates.

Do not buy the book, we never used it, waste of money. A lot of environmental propaganda is mixed in. Take really good notes because he asks very specific questions from them. When in a bad mood, he treats students like high schoolers. Just keep your head down, your mouth shut, and you'll do ok.

This professor right here is the bomb. Yeah he's challenging, but no one can break down and teach science like Dr. Laposata can. If you're a serious student that shows up to class most of the time, take him. Otherwise don't. He makes it clear that he's not there to play games. But he does really cares for the students that try. Awesome professor.

He is a pretty easy going guy. His tests are pretty difficult so it is important to really study. other then that i would recommend him.

Class subjects were really interesting & he is incredibly knowledgeable about subject matter. His tests, on the other hand, are CRAZY hard. Pay attention to the little side bar cases in the chapters as he asks questions like "what was the specimen used in the project in the little blue box at the beginning of chapter 7?" (just an example). STUDY!

Knows what he's talking about. Brilliant. Fun class. Sarcastic. I didn't study for any tests and made B's on all of them. EASY but really informative. Makes you want to learn.

Great teacher, best science teacher I've ever had. Genuinely cares about material, sheds light on contradictory issues and gives you the facts. Study hard for the tests and attend class to get an A.

Laposata is excellent. Yes, only 3 tests, but if you study the material, you will do fine. I was concerned that 2 B's on the test would scar me, but his grading system allows for a little surprise at the end (in my case, an A). Very animated, a pleasure to listen to, and interactive. Likes to answer questions. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. HE'S AWESOME!!:)

AWESOME Professor. DO NOT MISS CLASS! Entertaining, VERY funny, and brilliant. I loved him. I'd give him a hot pepper, too, if we were still allowed to. If you have EXCELLENT attendance, take Laposata!! (don't be scared of the 3 test rule, it works out in the end). He really is awesome. I got an A and I would definitely take him again if I could :)

Excellent professor. I loved the class.The only downfall is the limited grading structure: three tests. If I had gotten one more question right, I would have had an A. Either way, I would still recommend the class though; It revived my love of science, and now I am going to pursue a degree in a science-related field.

Excellent professor, very knowledgeable in his subject. Makes learning fun and easy, I learned quite a bit in his class. Will take the time to explain anything that is not clear. The three test thing isn't bad at all, sounds scary but it isn't. Don't leave on movie days, they're definitely on the test. Great class, will take him again if I can.

He's funny and interesting to listen to. I was worried over the first test but I made a great grade! You don't need the text book but come to class and pay attention to the films he shows and the extra articles he posts online. I know he's married with kids but there are times when he is just plain adorable! I gave him a chili pepper :D

I have never been one interested in science, but he makes me actually want to come to his class. His lectures keep you interested. you need to come to class for the notes! no mandatory attendance, but strongly recommended to get a good grade. As long as you study the notes he gives in class, you will do great! TAKE HIS CLASS! :)

I didn't like him until I started paying attention. Now I learn and I imagine that he's Jerry Seinfeld! He looks and dresses and acts like him. I enjoy this professor and his class.

Took his online 1102 class and really enjoyed it. Two quizzes a week, 5 tests including the final, and you get to drop your 3 lowest of 16 quizzes and lowest test grade. Also have 4 discussions. Tests can be tricky but overall he's a great teacher with very timely email responses. Take him!!

Pretty interesting class. Mr. Laposata is funny and full of interesting stuff. The tests are somewhat hard, but if you study the study guide and pay attention in class, you'll do fine. He posts large powerpoint slides online and tests on notes, videos, and online readings.

Material was extremely easy, tests weren't hard if you showed up to class and took pretty extensive notes. Appreciated the fact that attendance had no weight on grades - it was just three tests and a pretest that could get you some extra credit for if you showed up to take it. Teacher was laid back and amusing in class, but annoying one-on-one.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. He doesn?t take attendance but I recommend you go because his PowerPoint?s are very informative and detailed. His class is very entertaining. This guy is VERY enthusiastic about what he does. He reminds me of Lucas from House. That being said, the material is simple but the tests are TOUGH. Go to class for notes!

Awesome teacher, so funny! Easy class! Go to class write down all the powerpoint slides + a few notes, read the book and outside readings. Study notes a few time and you pretty much get an A. Go to class, take notes (be prepared, there are a lot), do outside readings and study. There are only three tests so make each one count. It's only hard if yo never go. Some of the test questions are a tad tedious. Being an English major, this class could have been more difficult for me, but was fairly enjoyable.

Good teacher. Go to class + take notes. Test questions are not meant to trick you if you read over the notes (pay attention to maps). There are also outside readings + a few questions from the book (advice: share). 3 tests and 1 extra credit quiz- thats all! If you try, you will do well. I made a 90, 92,+ 87.5, plus extra credit and got an A.

I promise you I fell in love with this teacher. 3 test, a couple extra credit questions, and an extra pre-test. That's your grade. Awesome teacher. Great sense of humor, but may come off as harsh to those who don't get it. He doesn't like slackers. If you are one prepare to get called out. Really cares. Loves what he teaches and you can tell!!

This is a fairly easy class. Must be in class take notes. Test questions come from notes and "Behind the Story" stories in book. Study those and you will do just fine. I would recommend this Professor. I am taking him for SCI1102 next semester!

Professor Laposata is very funny and entertaining. His tests are a little random, but perfectly fair if you attended class. I put minimal effort into this class and recieved a strong B. If you go to class, pay attention, and take good notes, then the only studying you should have to do is the study guide the night before a test and you'll do fine.

i took this class online. it was more work that any other online class i've taken. i enjoyed the discussions, but that was pretty much it. i don't feel like i learned anything.

This class kept my attention throughout the semester. You MUST attend class if you plan on getting an A in the end. Tests are not hard if you pay attention and know/understand the material. Questions come from the book, videos & outside readings, but majorly from in-class notes.

Lots of reading!!!Uses sources other than the text, but u still have some of the text to read. Mand. participation in discussions that have to take place over a period of time. Lots of work but cool class if u have the time. I took it online.

His class is easy if you just show up and take good notes. He makes things easy to understand and his tests aren't too hard either.

I loved this teacher. He's very funny and class is enjoyable. Labs are not graded but there will be test questions about them. Come to class and take notes straight from the powerpoint and you will do fine. Also be sure to read the textbook chapters because there will be test questions. My favorite class so far in college. Definitely recommend.

I took 1102 online. Several quizzes a week with discussions. I expect to get an A in the class. So easy. Everything is open books or notes. So hard not to get an A on all tests, etc. I gave him a 3 for helpfulness b/c we are in college and he expects you to read instructions. Some people asked the same ?'s. He gets frustrated as did I.

This isn't a hard or demanding class! Just pay attention and take notes if you need to. Make sure you read what he assigns outside of class. Lecture is entertaining enough and the material is certainly relevant, no matter what you're studying or what you're interested in.

Tests are easy content-wise but very specific and there's a ridiculous amount of stuff covered in one test. Online-readings, Chapters from the book, In-class lectures and videos, Labs (including intro's and procedure). I worked my butt off for a B and I'm an A student.

Had the same online class they did. Not sure why they thought it was hard. yes 1 ppt had a ton of pages BUT it was split up into more than 1 quiz. He supplies guide for quiz. fill it out get A on quiz use for test. open book/note. not hard at all. the reason he didn't reply to ?s b/c same ?s asked over and over. be truthful about ppt. READ PEOPLE!

Easy class. Alot of reading. I wouldn't reccommend during summer if you have a social life. If you participate in the discussions you can get an A as long as you make B's on test. Quizzes are tricky, but not hard. Overall alot of good information . great for those who like to read. If your a good student you will have no problems.

Took for 1101/1102. Pay attention - take plenty of detailed notes - tests are specific but not hard at all for regular attendees. He's a funny and very knowledgeable man, and his lectures on his doctoral work at Penn State are fascinating.

This teacher is AWESOME! You'll learn tons of interesting stuff in his class, and his tests are pretty straight forward. The questions all come from your reading and class lectures. I highly recommend him!

Good professor. Very intelligent & may seem stern at times, but he's very helpful in regard to what is due when and the guidelines behind each assignment (also very detailed in the course syllabus). 16 Quizzes & 5 Tests. 3 quizzes are dropped and your lowest test grade is dropped. Extra credit opportunity. Buy the book. Enjoyed this course.

An easy A, if you follow his instructions. Attend class every day, take notes, and be sure to attend the exam review because he will TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO STUDY. Lectures are entertaining (he's very funny) and he uses real world examples to illustrate concepts. However, be warned that he is NOT flexible when it comes to policy.

His lectures are hilarious, and it made the class very relatable. I learned SO much in this class! It was very eye-opening. The labs are sort of a pain, but if you take notes and go to the exam review sessions, you will do great! I'd recommend him for sure.

Really nice guy and has a great sense of humor. My only problem is the tests. For some unknown reason he likes to focus on the most random of things instead of the bulk of the material. In the chapter we will have one page on a topic and he will barely discuss it in class and it will be on the test alot instead of focusing on the major stuff.

The class isnt easy but not hard. 3 tests & they are your only grades. however, he is very helpful, knowledgeable and he makes class funny. i should end up with a b. He is a very good professor and i highly recommend him.

Summer Online Course. Lots of reading. Lots of studying. Ensures you will read all materials. Great information. Just follow instructions... to the the 'T'.

I am not sure why so many people are saying he is bad. He is a great professor that makes class etertaining. He tells you exactly what to study. I hate science and I got a A for the first time in science. Take notes, do the study guide, labs and you will do fine.

He is funny and the material itself is not hard. You just have to find ways to keep yourself interested. The labs are really annoying and the tests to me were not too easy so I had a hard time in this class. I recommend him if you are good at taking tests and are willing to do those labs. There aren't too many grades in here, so be careful!

I got an A in the class. It's NOT that bad. He clearly structured this in a way where those who 1)attend class 2)actually DO the labs and remember the content 3)Read the Behind the Stories do better than those who don't. If you do these three things AND study notes/PDF files, you will make a good grade. It's called effort, in this order.

Pretty straight-forward class. He is very nice and entetaining. I am taking him again next semester for 1102. And he is a pretty good looking guy, who always wears the nicest shoes. I know that that doesn't matter but thats what Im always thinking.

Laposata is probably the best science teacher for SCI 1101. Hes a cool, funny guy. His lectures are interesting, and he's not strict on laptops and cellphones. However the tests for his class are ridiculous. You can study and know the material, and still get caught on a stupid question like "what was the name of the website used in the lab"

I thought he was a great professor. If you attend class and actually pay attention you will make at least a B in his class. I never did the labs but seemed to make high B's on all the tests. Make sure you know the procedures to the labs and read the case studies in the textbook and you;ll do fine in the class.

Funny guy. Easy going, but test are close to impossible. I made A's in science in high school, and is probably my favorite subject but the class is tough. The test are made to trick you. 40 questions. 10 of them labs. 5 or so from the book and the rest are from the lecture. TEST ARE TOUGH! Great guy, hard class.

Not sure why some people are giving Prof. Laposata bad reviews. He is a great teacher and the class is an easy A. Yes, you do have to study. Yes, you do have to attend class. Not because he takes attendance, but because he tests on the lectures. He will not curve any grades but as long as you attend class and study you shouldn't need him to.

People who are giving Laposata a bad review obviously didn't listen or study. He clearly stated what was expected REPEATEDLY. Yes, his tests are somewhat difficult, but if you study well, it's not that hard. Tests consist of lectures, labs, and case studies in the book.

Easily the best teacher I've had at KSU. And I'm not a science major. This guy is exemplary. He teaches clearly, interestingly, and most importantly, boils it down to why it matters. A great thinker, speaker, and administrator. If you can, take his class.

This class was great! Professor Laposata gave engaging and interesting lectures, so all you have to do is show up, pay attention, and take good notes. The tests are hard, but if you do the online work and look at the case studies in the book, you should be fine!

He makes it clear that the tests will be based off lecture, and from certain small sections of the text. He gives study guides. If you study like a college student you will get 90s and up on the tests. Also there is easy online HW only due before each test, labs (not graded) and lab quizzes that you can basically just read the labs and pass. easy A

Quality professor. Extremely efficient with your time, skilled in elaborating on the applicable significance of the material, and perfectly clear in outlining every expectation. To get an A: go to class, take notes, study notes, read the few extra posted articles. Once you have your rhythm, the class is an enjoyable breeze.

Not sure why Laposata is getting so many bad reviews. I actually think he is really great- I'm just awful when it comes to science. I'm still currently in the class and I should have withdrawn when I had the chance because I've borderline failed every test. However, if you just go to class, take notes and read, that's really all that's to it.

Laposata is one of my favorites. Show up to class. That's huge. Just read your notes a few times a day for the week leading up to the test and you'll be fine. Make sure to read the science behind the story and case study pieces! Lab quizzes can be passed without actually completeing the lab. Just make sure you know what you were SUPPOSED to do.

What he teaches from the lectures are on the test. Pulls questions out from each lecture he teaches that day for tests. Every test there is extra credit if the class participates. I never read the chapters he assigned but he highlights in his reviews what to read. His test's are relatively easy if you look over the notes a day in advanced.

Study and read what he tells you!! There are 3 tests (90 points each), 3 lab quizzes (30 points each), the final (120 points), and homework at 54 points. He gives up to 3 bonus questions on the main tests based on class behavior. His lectures are very interesting though, and he makes them fun. Not to mention he is attractive, ladies.

Dr. Laposata is fantastic, but don't take the class if you won't study. On the first day he tells you that his tests are hard and exactly how to get an A. Know what he puts in the study guides, and for goodness sakes read the case studies, and you will make an A. Also, he's funny so he makes a potentially boring class enjoyable.

As long as you show up to class and do the assigned readings, you will be FINE! People who claim his tests are hard, don't read. Just do the small assignments online and come and jot down notes and listen, and you will do great. I never go anything lower than a B in that class.

He is probably the best science teacher I have ever had. His lectures are hilarious. His tests are tough, but if you show up to class and take notes, you can get an A.

He is honestly one of my favorite professors so far. He is hilarious and I love his lectures. I would absolutely recommend. Plus, he is pretty good looking. I will say the tests can be difficult if you do not read nor attend class.

I loved this professor. He read off and explained powerpoints that he gave us time to copy down (didn't even talk while we were writing). As long as you go to class,, do the labs, do the online activities, and anything else he says you should do you should get an easy A or B

He gives about 4 tests and some labs. The test questions come straight from his power points. So show up and take note or you won't pass. You don't have to do the labs necessarily, but just know the material from them for the quizzes. He is a great professor and very funny and entertaining. I did enjoy the class.

He really isn't that bad. Tests aren't hard if you go to class and he tells you what to study for the in his review sessions at the end of class. You should not fail if you go to class and read the little outside stories in the book.

He was a great professor who made Environmental Science interesting, enjoyable, and tolerable. All tests and quizzes are multiple choice, but are hard if you do not study at all. I made straight B's on all of the tests by studying and some labs ... didn't do so hot on, but nonetheless it was a great course to take! Easy B, gotta work for that A!

I loved having Laposata. He is HILARIOUS first of all (very sarcastic), and his lectures are interesting. He tells you straight up what's boring. He gives 1-3 bonus points on all tests, depending on the classes behavior, and I've made 100s on all of them. He tells you exactly what will be on them. Just READ WHAT HE TELLS YOU TO. It's not a lot.

Entertaining professor. He reminds me of House MD. He very stern yet he's genuinely funny enough to ease the pressure of his demand for respect. He'll shush you if you talk in his class (it bounces off the lecture halls' walls). Anyway, his class is easy if you attend and read the book (which he helped write) and the homework's online. Do the labs!

I had Laposata in person and for an online class, I reccommend the regular lecture class. The quizzes/exams for the online class are somewhat diffifult, but the real catch is that they're only 5 questions. So it's really easy to bomb the quizzes.

Okay, don't listen to the people saying this class was hard or awful. He is hilarious, he's just like Dr. House. If they did poorly, it's because they didn't read or do the easy labs, which isn't a lot, but HE TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO READ. He gives major hints. He just doesn't put up with disrespect and laziness. I recommend him strongly.

Laposata was one of my favorite professors. The class is very structured, so you won't ever be surprised with anything. There is no attendance policy, but it's important to go to class because his tests are mostly based off of the lectures. He makes the lectures fun; he is sarcastic and hilarious. 10/10 would recommend.

He was an AMAZING professor, clear grader and so smart. 3 tests and 1 non cumulative final. Lab quizzes the days after the test, online homework (super easy and short). That's literally it. He is so hilarious and handsome too. Go to class as his tests are lecture heavy and make sure you read SBS, case studies, & outside read. Easy A if you try. :)

Writing this review a couple of years after I had Laposata. My only regret is that I never took him for anything else. Very likable guy and, most importantly, very passionate about the subject that he teaches. The most important characteristic in a great professor is that they inspire their students and make them WANT to learn more. Just awesome.

He is an awesome professor. Lectures were entertaining, even for a boring material. His tests were tough if you didn't go to class because he would throw in some questions that you had to be at class to know, but other than that, his class was awesome. Lab portion of the class was a breeze. Highly recommend.

Mr. Laposata is a very good professor who makes environmental science very interesting. If you want an A, I would recommend going to class every day, but if you go twice a week you can probably get away with a B. Lectures were very good. Very Fair grader. Great at posting grades on time, usually know test scores two hours after taking a test.

Didn't know anything about Matt before going in. He turned out to be my fave teacher this semester, even with a lot of other good ones. Science isn't my strong suit necessarily, but he killed it and I enjoyed the class. Has a funny, interesting style of lecture. The slides he uses are really concise so the notes aren't bad and contain good info.

He's cool. The online labs are the hardest part. He gives study guides and always gives time to ask questions the class before the test.

Matt wrote half the book you use in this class, this may seem like a bad thing but what I found is that he really loves what he teaches and is great at conveying the material in a way that is as unbiased as possible. The man has jokes. Need to read the few sections in each chapter for the test to get a good grade. Need to do the labs. Great dude.

Professor Laposata brings life to environmental science! His presentation are clear, simple, and enjoyable. He is very approachable and answers all questions to the best of his ability. If you read the material and do the work, the exams and labs are a breeze. If I could've taken his 1102, I would have! I highly suggest this Professor!

Easy class if you do a few things: attend every single class so you will know what he is talking about on tests based on lectures, do the online hw ( so easy), study the notes, read the case studies, science behind the stories, and do the labs!!!! 3 tests and the final .The lab quizzes (4) only have 10 questions so read it and do it!

He seems pretty cool and I enjoyed the class, but the tests are so hard! You have to make an A on almost everything to be able to get an A in the class which was hard because of the labs. The labs were terrible and the hardest and worse part of the entire class. Im glad to be done with it.

Read the case studies, science behind the stories, online homework, and do the labs. Overall, tests are difficult af, but if you read what you're assigned, you should do well.

He's such a funny teacher and he's got some great stories. Lecture heavy and the tests can be kinda tricky. Make sure you get in study groups and start a group me. If you are organized and focused, you'll do fine in this class but make sure you read the textbook. Before the test, he does a review and tells you what to study and focus on.

I took Laposata for SCI1101 but liked him so much I took him again for 1102. His grading criteria is very straight forward as is the material, but you have to go over your notes and read! I got into an awesome class where we made and shared quizlets, I would recommend doing the same, even if it's only for yourself. Quality teacher, good material

Come to class and write down everything in his presentations and you will be fine. He does post the lectures online but leaves out key points that may or may not be on the test. READ THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE STORIES AND CASE STUDIES. They will ALWAYS be on the tests. Do the labs, no way around getting a good grade on the lab quizzes. Not that bad.

I absolutely loved this man. He was a great professor. He was very personal with the class and he really knew his stuff. You have to come to class or you won't get the notes. Also you have to buy the textbook because he references it and he also wrote it. I would take it again in a heartbeat.

I did well on a lot of his quizzes and tests. There are 2 quizzes every week, but most of the answers are easy to find either online (which is allowed) or in the book. He drops 3 of your lowest quizzes and your lowest test score at the end. I liked the consistency of the class and the set schedule.

4 quizzes and a test every unit. You are allowed to use the internet and most questions are on quizlet. Didn't interact with him much but he posts every week in the discussion board about the upcoming week. Lots of text to read.

I took him for both 1101 and 1102 and made a high A in both. If you try even a little bit its an easy A. The majority of people in there don't care at all about science and he understands that so all the material in the class is very basic and doesn't go into much depth. Great class to take to help your GPA.

Hands down one of the best professors I've had at ksu. He understands that most students taking the course are not science majors. Keeps lectures interesting and is very funny throughout.

One of the better professors at KSU. He knows most students aren't Science majors and makes the class understandable for those who aren't fond of Science in general. Professor Laposata wants you to do well in his class and gives you the tools you need to do so, you just have to choose to use them. There are four tests, four lab quizzes, and some easy online homework. A lot of test questions are directly from the lectures so coming to class is a must. Laposata is a good speaker, making his lectures interesting.

He wrote the textbook so he knows what he is talking about. Tests can pull from small things in the textbook, but is also not too hard. Do the lab assignments because those lab grades are huge. Initial unit quizzes are very easy. Online activities are simple and straight-forward. Class wasn't too hard, but kind of a pain.
