Polze is awesome! He gives great examples and asks interesting questions during lecture to get everyone involved. You do have to study to do well on the tests but he is so worth it!

By far one of the easiest classes students will take, made even easier by Professor Polze's stories, case discussions and practical use of learning tools. You will not find a more enthusiastic professor more genuinely interested in all of his students.

I found Dr. Polze to be a wonderful teacher who managed to make a 4 hour class (once a week during the summer) interesting. The tests were over material that was covered in class and he made the powerpoint notes available on elearning, so you could pay attention during class instead of concentrating on taking notes.

Polze is awesome. He keeps his classes engaged and interested from syllabus day all the way until the final. You will not find a better teacher. My one and only complaint is that his test get a bit wordy. You may know the material but his trickily worded questions sometimes throw curveballs. Read questions carefully and study and you will do great.

Everyone loves him, which is obvious. He teaches well but I often felt like most students weren't as interested in the subject matter as they were being BFF's with him. If you want a fun, easy class with lots of discussion, take his courses, but if you want a true law-related course, look to the PSCI electives instead.

This is an online class. Its very easy. It is one of the courses where you learn something useful that can be applied to real life. Business Law (now ACCT 6370). Great professor, highly recommend. If possible take during Fall or Spring. Avoid Summer...as it becomes hectic to read 4 chapters in 1 week (summer right!!)

I sat in this class once with my friend, a the teacher was so good, I showed up to class every day after that, even though I wasn't even enrolled in it. I can't speak for the grades aspect, since I never did the actual assignments or tests, but he took a subject I was interested in, and made it an awesome class.

GO TO ALL CLASSES, and RECORD THE LECTURES because this is what the tests are supposed to be over, along with articles he gives to read, and current events. broad range of material for a test,& NO REVIEW on what exactly to focus on. Take 2301, but SKIP 4310.

This version of Blaw is NOT for those that are introverted or do not like doing a lot of speaking in class or interacting with others. If you are extroverted and dont mind meeting new people and such, then this class is just for YOU!!!

Polze is a vry good communicator, afterall he is a lawyer. Just attend all his classes, go over powerpoints, do the practice exam questions, and review questions and you will get an A, unless you got into UTD by look.

Honestly one of my favorite classes I have ever taken. You will learn things that will help you in the real world, and the professor is not only passionate about his job but passionate about his students too. He is a man that wants you to succeed in life and also to grow as a person. Granted I failed his class, but it was my fault completely.

four test and one homework assignment. He is very easy to talk to. I thought his exams were easy. I went to class with the printed PowerPoints from eLearning and wrote notes on there for e textbook and his lectures. Does give little awards out at the end of the semester. Prof Polze is one of the best professors at UTD! His class is interesting and you'll learn a lot in it; however, tests are not easy. NO EXTRA CREDIT (3 tests and a paper) those are all the chances you have. If you want to keep a high GPA and blaw is not something of interest take it at community college.

I do admire and respect Professor Polze's enthusiasm and personality. Pretty great with students. Lectures are quite engaging and lively. However, one has to give a LOT of time and effort in this course. I am not a fan of memorizing and reading a textbook word for word, which seemed CRUCIAL for this course. Subject matters are a bit dry for me.

Polze engages his students with lectures and he is willing to do anything to help you. BEST decision you can make is to befriend this teacher because not only is he respected, he can help you and is willing to make sure you understand the difficult material.

Polze is a REALLY REALLY good professor, very passionate about what he is teaching and makes a huge effort to make every topic he talks about relevant. I'm not going to lie, tests are hard and there is a lot of material you have to know for each exam. There are three tests and one paper.

I was warned this class was going to be difficult. But, it's not terribly difficult. He gives good lectures and he loves his students. TAKE HIM IN BLAW. DO IT.

3 exams, 1 writing assignment that is it. Gives only one practice test before each exam and that is by the online resource itself as well are all the non required quizzes. He gives one full review before each exam that is pretty well done. Its him recording his voice and going over important slides. If you don't read, well good luck making a C.

Polze is an absolutely wonderful professor and human being. He truly likes to teach every single day and you can tell from his really engaging lectures. His office doors are also always open in case you have questions for class or just want to talk. He grades extremely challenging in his honors class though. Like ridiculously hard to get an A.

Amazing professor, made a really dry law class pretty interesting. Very friendly if you talk to him after class. Practice problems are good on Mindtap, and are essential to making a good grade. If you go to class and work the questions on mindtap you will make a good grade, but if you dont you will struggle to make a C. Tests are pretty tricky

He's an very inspirational professor. Always has interesting lectures. His exams are tough if you don't read the book, but overall amazing professor!

His honors class is no joke. Your are against everyone in there and only the top 25% get an A. Aside from that, this was the best class I have ever taken. Polze cares for all his students and is always will to help. If you like the law, this class won't be hard. I never had to study. If you don't like the law, then good luck.

Business law honors IS the weed out course for honors. It will push you, requires consistent work, but will leave you with a truly deep understanding and appreciation for the law. Polze is amazing and literally offers every avenue for even the most struggling student to improve their grades. The grading is competitive but work hard you'll be fine.

Tests are easily among the hardest I've ever taken, and I ranked very high in HS and took all AP's. Up to 100 multiple choice questions, several essays. This format forces you to know the material backwards/forwards, you have no time to double-check. Be prepared for massive reading and reviewing. Go to lectures, Polze gives great examples+explaning

If you attend class regularly and study you will do well. he gives you very specific and useful tools to do your best and practice the material, just do it and it's not too hard. lectures are always very engaging! one of the best profs at utd.

Professor Polze is a great, kind, and hilarious professor, and he makes sure you do well on the exams. The tests are a bit tough if you don't study, but he helps you out if you do poorly on them. I would definitely recommend him.

All I could ever want in a professor

He likes to think he is a comedian... He breaks the long lectures up with terrible jokes, that make the class tolerable. He shows funny youtube videos, etc. The tests are tricky, and he makes them that way on purpose. 1/2 of the test is true/false, and 1/2 is multiple choice. You have to put in effort. 3 tests and a paper.

I love Professor Polze!! I was so lucky to have him because I was in the LLC. Great professor and teaches the material while applying it to real life. He kept me updated on current events and kept the class engaged. He is super welcoming and friendly so take advantage of his office hours! Study MindTap and read the book. He wants you to succeed.

Professor Polze is fantastic. Business law can be quite boring and confusing, but he constantly brought in real world examples to explain concepts. He doesn't require attendance, but it is ESSENTIAL in order to do well on the exams. Additionally, he took the time to record reviews for each chapter, listen to them. Three tests and one paper.

Polze is by far one of the best professors I have taken thus far. Really motivational and makes his lectures fun. Some days when the material is boring, but he makes it bearable. Going to class WILL help on exam. You remember his little examples during the exam. Tests are sometimes hard, but study and go to class, it'll all work out.

You can tell he really loves his job and to talk. There is a total of 3 tests, noncumulative, and one really easy paper. The tests are pretty challenging. You'd have to put a term into context, so reading the book and paying attention in class is a must. Attendance is not mandatory, but his cheerful energy makes you want to keep coming to class.

Entertaining professor, but tests are challenging and you have to understand the chapters very well to pass his exams. He gives likes 9 chapters for one test, so if you have a busy schedule, i'd suggest you take a different professor. Make sure to do the mind tap questions in addition to reading the book, also go to class.

Take notes, pay attention in class, and work the practice questions and you will be in good shape. However, if you don't do any of those things I mentioned, don't expect to pass.

Great profesor. I failed the class, but it was my favorite class. I liked the subject and I did study, but his tests are tedious and application based. His grading criteria is up a notch, so it is easy to fail even if you make a 70 on an exam. 3 exams and 1 paper. Although I did fail, he is passionate about teaching and wants to help you pass.

He is an amazing professor but this class is extremely hard! Only 3 exams and a paper (not worth much) and anything below 70 is fail! I barely passed, and as much as I would take this professor again, this class is horrible. I recommend taking it at a community college/online instead.

Transferred to UT after freshman year, and by and far the thing I miss most about UTD is Polze. Class was always something to look forward to. And you're very unlikely to find another person who is as knowledgeable or truly invested in you. Haven't met another professor that even comes close and I'm afraid my standards are now ruined. Polze is definitely one of the top best professors I've had in my college career. He loves his job and helping students in every way. His lectures are interesting and involves his students. I would def take him! but his exams are not easy!! You have to study!

Polze is amazing! There is a lot of dry reading in this class, but do it before lecture and it will all appear simpler once he explains it. Grade is based out of three tests and one writing assignment. However, none of the tests are comprehensive. He is a great teacher in that he does lectures very well and cares about his students succeeding. Polze is an awesome professor. I would recommend ALL of the classes he teaches to everyone, regardless of major. You can get an A without the textbook if you study slides (but he negotiates with the publisher to make them cheaper so just buy it and read). His lectures are great, he's funny and affable, and his office door is ALWAYS open for you.

I definitely suggest taking Polze's 4310 BLAW class if you're a business major. You actually learn. Prof Polze makes the class very interesting and is always open for feedback. Polze assigns 6 writing assignments, and 3 exams. Nothing to worry about as long as you follow his grading rubric. Great Class!

This guy changed my outlook on life... nuff said. Other than that, there are 3 tests (each worth 31.25%)and a 1 page typed paper(worth 6.25% of your grade), the tests you should be good if you study on mindtap and read the notes. I'd say he's not accessible in person because there's literally always a line to see him. E-mail would work though.

Take him. His lectures are amazing, he genuinely cares about his students, and his class is simple. Come to class, take notes, take the exam. He literally says "This will be on the exam". A lot of reading for this class but not as bad as everyone says. If you read the textbook chapters, assigned novels and do the mindtap questions it is not hard to complete the tests. He is one of the most genuine teachers I've ever had. Although he will seem to divert from the subject matter, his discussions are relevant to life and very riveting. The extra work the honors class does can seem extra, but it really helps change your viewpoint on life. I would say that all the extra work was totally worth it.

This was an amazing class, clearly taught by someone who loves their career and the school. As an associate dean and head of the honors program, he is still easily accessible outside of class for anyone who needs to reach out to him. I took the honors section of the class. Make sure to read every chapter that he goes through and outside reading.

He had to cancel class once due to an emergency& i kid you not students were disappointed bc they LOOK FORWARD to this class. Exams are hard but his A range is 90-100, 89 being an A-

Exams are challenging and are asked in form of hypothetical situations, must know how to apply each law in a scenario. Study the hypothetical analysis questions and do the practice exams on MindTap. Polze will also tell you specific questions and answers that he puts on the exams so go to class, pay attention, use mind tap, and you'll do fine!

Like everyone else said, really good lecturer. Main thing I wanted to say is, you should read the textbook but don't necessarily have to buy it. I read a pirated free version without the mindtap questions and managed an A- even with forgetting to turn in the only assignment of the class. His grading is also easier, with an 89 being an A-.

What a stand-up guy, I really enjoyed my time in his class. He makes it not boring by giving anecdotes about his life but still manages to help the class understand everything. He will also spend time answering questions if you have them which I found to be very helpful. Tests are hard so you definitely will have to work for it, but it's worth it!

I took Professor Polze for BLAW. Take HIM! He is the most caring professors I have ever had. He truly cares for everyone in the class and goes way out of his way to make sure we are successful in the class. The content itself is not easy and so keeping up with the lectures along with practice problems on Cengage is important.

The best professor I've had in college! I've never seen a person so passionate about the subject they teach. His stories and the way of explaining methods helps you actually learn the concept. Be sure to use Cengage and do mind tap. Halfway we switched to online format, but the content is not difficult you just have to read and apply on exams. :)

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is an AMAZING lecturer! He makes me want to be a lawyer and thats one career I told myself I would never do! Let me give y'all some advice... BEFORE class print out the lecture slides in layout format and follow along with the lecture and take notes on the slides. I GUARANTEE YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

He is such a kind person that really cares about his students. I have not heard a single bad thing about him. The material is hard but he is able to explain it all very well. He goes over EXACTLY what is on the test in his notes so its not too hard to get a good grade. The tests were open notes and reading the textbook is helpful but not needed.

Since this was a COVID semester, his tests were structured as essay questions. He really just wants you to be able to apply legal concepts to the bigger picture. Always has office hours so take advantage of that.

Such a great professor! I had him for Honors BLAW. He pushed our class a lot, but it was entirely worth it in my opinion. He somehow made law interesting. His class is difficult, but it is difficult because he respects us and wants us to be our best selves.

Advice: -Lecture Notes & Polze's commentary was enough (I didn't read the textbook) -Don't just memorize word for word; FAMILIARIZE yourself with concepts and be able to apply (there's a lot of situational questions) -WRITE DOWN when he says "On the exam I'll give __ scenario" -Writing Assignments: Use less flowery words -You will love this class.

The world's BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I have so much gratitude and respect for him. I slept through our virtual semester final by Half an hour because of a multitude of personal reasons. All it took was one email of heavy apologizing and explaining the situation. He let me retake it, no questions asked. I wish all prof's would be as understanding as him

Professor Polze is honestly one of the best professors I've had so far. He knows how to make the class fun and interesting to learn. He also answers all questions you might have no matter how crazy they are and knows how to keep the class interesting with the different stories and cases he talks about that relate to the topic.

Take this professor if you can 100%. Good lectures, uses tons of personal examples and funny examples and loves discussing student questions. Also accessible outside of class during office hours. Hands down, easily one of the best professors in JSOM and I can see why. His stories are funny and relatable and he knows how to make Business Law fun and interesting. He is open to all questions in class, no matter how dumb they are. To do well, take notes of his examples and you should do well! This class made me want to get into corporate law.

Professor Polze is the type of professor you will remember years after taking and recall his class with excitement and gratitude. His assignments are challenging but designed to push you forwards, and he goes out of his way to be accessible. If you have the chance to take his class, I cannot recommend it enough.

Best teacher ever. He makes class fun and interesting. 1 writing assignment and 3 exams. Exams are open book and open notes. You don't even have to study for them to get an A.

Polze might be the best professor in the school. Amazing lectures and funny stories made going to class a much easier decision. Not the easiest class ever, but he tries his best to help everyone out. Writing assignments are easy once you realize they aren't about writing, but creativity. Absolute 10/10.

Best professor/teacher I've ever had - knows everything and teaches it well. Always go to lectures and write down the examples he uses. For writing assignments, show him drafts during office hours so he can edit them. Also a great person to talk to for personal advice - the sole reason I made it through the semester even though it was really hard!

Please do yourself a huge favor and take Professor Polze's class. I have never enjoyed a class as much as I enjoyed his. You can tell this mans passions lay in teaching. every day is exciting and fun. On top of that, the tests are open-book and pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the presentation.

Professor Polze was genuinely one of the healthiest influences in my life. He teaches you about law but also tries to teach you how to be better- period. His first 1 or 2 grades will be low- but that only those. He is a charismatic, sophisticated, disciplined role model that is more inspirational than anyone I have ever met. Take him.

I can't say enough good things about Polze! This class definitely wasn't easy, but it pushed me in a good way. The quality of work I produced was so much better at the end of the semester compared to the start. Just do your work, and you'll get a good grade. His lectures are very engaging, and he cares so much about every single student!

Professor Polze is officially the best professor and teacher I've ever had. He's is ridiculously funny, and brings smiles to everyone's faces. He's a great role model. Tests are open note and online. No group projects, only a couple of easy essays. I'm considering going into law because of Prof. P. Can't be enough said about how fantastic he is!

I hate school, but I genuinely loved Polze's class. He is such a great lecturer and person. He tries really hard to keep you engaged the whole time and his jokes are hilarious. Tests are online open note, the first one was the hardest. Don't skip class because he always hints at test questions.

Amazing lectures and genuinely cares about his students. As long as you attend his lectures and take some notes, you'd do fine on the exams. There are three online exams and one writing assignment.

The way I figured out how to get higher scores on writing assignments is to include more art and be creative and unique. He reads off a slideshow but makes up for it with plenty of commentary. I ended up super satisfied, so I highly recommend Mr. Polze.

Polze is probably the best professor I have ever taken. Just show up to class and the 3 exams will be cake. No extra credit but it shouldn't be needed.

When people said Professor Polze is the best professor they have taken, I wanted to experience his class for myself. When he teaches, you can tell he loves being up there, finding ways to connect to students or break down concepts very easily. He made BLAW more enjoyable for me and in the process gave some key takeaways about life with an impact.

His passion for law and public service is contagious, his writing assignments invoke creativity, and class conversations regarding the topic are NEVER boring with him. He makes an introductory law class digestable and inspiring. Get ready to read A. LOT. If he doesn't specify a boundary, think outside the box and be creative. I loved his class!

You pretty much have to try to fail this class. Attendance isn't mandatory, and you could pass the class without going once since the 4 assignments (this includes all tests and 1 actual assignment) are online, all his lectures are online, and tests are open note multiple choice online. Super hilarious and informative tho never skipped

Amazing Professor! Attendance is not mandatory, but attending lectures are very fun, interesting, and will help you for the exams. Other than that exams are not hard and the workload is pretty light!

Professor Polze is AMAZING! It was my first time taking his class this semester, and I am so glad I did. He is the sweetest professor at UTD and he posses amazing knowledge. He is very, very, very accessible outside of class to the point where there is always a line for his office hours. Gonna miss his class, he also gives great life advice!

Mr. Polze is an amazing professor he is caring and his lectures are extremely engaging, I really enjoyed his class and going to his lectures even though I struggled with the tests and material I still really enjoyed taking his course!

This class isn't hard, but you have to have a strong grasp of the material and the expectations on you for the honors class. Polze does good lectures and teaches with current events although sometimes he goes off on a tangent. Frequent assignments and additional readings mean you can't fall behind, but he's always available and eager to help.
