Matt Teachout is an excellent math teacher. I was completely freaked out about having to take math 27 years after I graduated from high school, but he got me through it with no problems. He's kind and patient, and if you want to work, you'll get an A.

Matt is the best teacher I have ever taken. He is trustworthy and grades correctly. You can tell he loves teaching. Explains everything step by step and gives lots of time for homework. Very patient and clear. I usually am horrible at math and hate it, but taking him has changed my perspective. If you get the chance I strongly advice taking him.

He gives you all the equations that you're going to need so that you have them with you for the exam, and never need to memorize them. You only need to know how to use them which is great for people like me who struggle at math. He really is the best!

He is very patient and helpful. He will explain a problem until you understand it, and has no problem answer any amount of hw questions. There are no dumb questions in his class, and he won't make you feel dumb if you forget what 2+2 is. There is hw questions assigned nightly, but you start them in class as class work. Overall easy teacher!

Prof. Teachout has got to be the most sincere professor that walks around the COC campus. He strives to help his students. He spends a lot of time reviewing before the tests and he grades fairly too! Math 103 is generally a hard class but if you take it with this professor and you come to class, you'll do just fine.

I was dreading statistics, but prof. teachout made it very tolerable. He goes over everything very clearly, step by step. There are no surprises on his and he is a very fair grader. He is willing to meet outside of class to give extra help and he is an all around great teacher. I highly recommend him, especially if math is not really your thing.

This guy really knows his math. He teaches almost every math subject there is. Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus...etc. He is amazing. He is clear with his lectures/examples. I took matt for a pal class which is both math 60 and 70. He is the GREATEST teacher I have ever had. He really cares and tries his best to make you understand. Although the 060/070 pace class is a lot of work, I owe my success to Mr. T's great teaching style. There is a great deal of homework, but it really prepares you for his exams. Mr. T offers a great deal of out of class office hours. I would suggest this teacher for anyone who struggles with math!

Yea math 25 was simple but teachout knew what to teach and how to teach it. I mean the man knows his stuff really well... HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. IF HE TEACHES THE SAME WAY HE TEACHES MATH 25...YOU WILL PASS WITH AN A OR B in the class....gauranteed unless u dont do ur work of course.

I took a 5-week summer course, but I still think I have a strong grasp of trigonometry after taking his class. Answers any homework questions the following day of their being assigned, and if you do the homework (correctly), you'll pass the test.

PAL class. At first, you'll be overwhelmed by the amount of work and "omg, the projects are going to be hard!" No. They're all easy once you go through it with him. Comments below, for the most part, are accurate. You don't have to be "into" math to enjoy this PAL class. His teaching method is seamless. He enjoys what he does, and that is a huge plus for students who fear math. I for one, thought this class was going to be unbearable. However, he made it enjoyable and I have learned so much thus far.

You would be a fool NOT to take his class. Crystal clear, passionate, more than fair, and truly invested in his students. Don't be fooled, it is a heavy work load, and studying outside of class is a must, but he gives you every tool to be successful. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Professor Teachout. I really enjoyed his 075140 PAL class. He really knows his stuff and is very passionate about teaching statistics. His lectures are interesting and easy to follow. Lots of test, but he really prepares you for them. We had an online book, which was a plus. You will love him!

I have never gotten better than a C in all of my mathematical career in school. But I came out with an A! I was so happy, because I worked my butt off in this class. This professor is the best teacher; he is clear, gives great lectures, and uses all forms of media to help you out. Just ask questions through email or in person and understand all hw.

Had him for the PAL program and he is the best. Goes through everything with the class to make sure you understand it. Writes the formulas needed for the test on the board with what questions they go with. Is very easy to talk to and ask for help. Very clear with each of his lessons. He's pretty young for a professor and it shows in his class. His lectures are unorganized and kind of all over the place. "Group work" is every day after lecture and it is 15% of your grade so if you miss class you miss points and it starts to add up. He is very monotone so if you don't like that you will most likely go insane. Homework is big too.

Great teacher! I use to barely pass my math classes, but I passed both 075 and 140 with an A! Class attendance is required so you don't fall behind. He reviews the day before the test and even day of if necessary. Will except late work, sometimes for half credit though, you get points for showing up each day. His test aren't super hard.

My math skills were in serious need of brushing up; Professor Teachout was an amazing teacher, and cared about his students understanding the material. I've never before had a math professor I would recommend so highly. Classwork is on the heavy side, but whatever you do not finish just becomes homework. Finish it daily, and get an easy A.

Great professor, have never been great at math but this class was very understandable and he explains everything in lots of detail and in various ways so you can understand it. I was not a huge fan of the homework due for the online textbook.

If you want to pass Statistics, enroll with Teachout. He is able to break down the material in a way that is understandable. The class has 4 exams, 1 project, and a final. There isn't too much homework. He will answer questions in the beginning of each class, and even review on the day of each exam. One of the best math professors at COC!

I took his 8 week course : oli asssignments, affective domain activities, 1 presentation(you present to your classmates not in front of class) 4 exams, and 1 final. TAKE HIM! Highly recommended. Professor M. Teachout is very familiar with the topics discussed in any of his classes. He actually teaches Math in an environment that the student learns and desires to learn. Every students well-earned points in quizzes, or written assignments, or exams is an opportunity to learn at the same pace with Matt's lectures.

I took his course and I was so inspired. He has homework, classwork, one presentation, four exams and one final exam. You have to show to class to get participation points. He has all his lectures online. He has study guides for exams. The homework online is multiple choice. Gives out articles. He is understanding if you communicate with him.

I took Prof Teachout over a year ago. I'm currently in a stats class at UCLA with 250 students. I'm soo glad that Teachout gave me a good foundation about stats and I'm currently ahead of my peers because of his class. I now have a true appreciation for his style of teaching compared to my current UCLA professor who isn't very good at it.

He respected every single person. He truly cared. He returned tests on the next day. He made a 4/5 week class thats 3 hours M-F FLLLYY by!

Professor Teachout is a wonderful teacher, he's caring and inspirational. He is adamant about attendance. Therefore, if you attend class regularly and take notes, you will absolutely pass his class. Also, you don't have to purchase a book for his class which is a plus. It was an honor to be his student.

Mr. Teachout really knows how "to show". He is the kindest teacher I've ever had. I've never had a teacher who cared as much as he does. I love his philosophy of the "growth mindset". He believes that all his students are capable of doing well in mathematics if they apply their energy to adapting to change.

I took Prof Teachouts 8 week class Math 140. Math is my weakest subject but his lectures made me understand the material. Enthusiastic voice, helpful, and accessible outside of class. I took his accelerated class and I was able to get an A in both classes! This man is the definition of a perfect teacher, he makes everything clear and is willing to help every student who wants to learn. He is the easiest teacher to get a hold of as well! I loved taking this class with Teachout. Stats is not at easy course, but the way he taught it made it easy. As long as you study, turn in all your work before the semester ends, and show up to class everyday, youll be fine. i missed class about 4 times, and i regret it because i missed so much information, but i studied and made up for it.

If you show up to class and do all the homework, you will get an A in this class. Prof. Teachout allows you to turn in late work whenever you want and get full credit. There is a lot of work in this class, but he's the best.

Matt is a wonderful professor. He's incredibly helpful and he wants students to understand the material. Just be careful if you're taking the short term class, it flies by incredibly fast and he covers anywhere between 1-4 units every day, so if you miss class, you'll definitely be lost.

I loved taking math 140 with him. I took the 8 week accelerated course. He helps you out whenever you are in need and has a very clear teaching style. There is a group project that is split up in to three parts and I had a difficult time with it, but he took time out of his day to help me out and make sure I received a good grade on it.

Took Professor Teachout during winter, 5 week class. Very intense and fast paced learning, but his lectures are understandable and the way he conducts his assignments allows you to actual learn the material and understand. Very great on feedback & hw. He wants you to learn not just pass! Recommend 10/10!!!

He literally sets you up to succeed. Class/homework and participation points are given as long as you don't come late or leave early. If so, you have to make up the activities you missed during that timeframe. Extra credit is given through unlimited chances of fixing mistakes on the group project. The only thing that really sucks is the stairs!!!

Professor Teachout is an incredible stats professor. If you show up to class and pay attention youll do well on the tests and get an A. Since the class was 2.5 hours I got my hw done in class every day. Theres three parts to a project you do over the semester and theyre not difficult if you follow the directions. Overall I had a great experience

Literally the best math teacher I've ever had. He has a huge review the day before tests and tells you exactly what to expect. Math is not my strong suit. I am also a part of the DSPS program because learning is quite difficult for me. I asked my councilor about professors that would be a good fit and recommended him. You will pass if you try. If you forget to turn your hw in, no worries because you can turn them in anytime. Easy pass if you pay attention and don't slack.

I took him for a short term Math 140. He is very helpful. You only have to turn in homework if you don't go to class so I recommend going because the homework is pretty hard. He helps you if you have questions and really wants you to do well.

I've never gotten higher than a C in a COC math class, but I breezed by with an A in a subject I really struggle with. Teachout does an AMAZING job of explaining concepts clearly and ensures you understand. Dude just cares about students learning and doesn't expect everyone to be a math expert so he breaks down concepts to build your knowledge.

as long as you do not skip class and do your homework you will do well in the class. he was not condescending to me when i would ask him questions, he genuinely cared and wanted us to understand the topic. do not, i repeat, do not wait until last minute to turn anything in. you will be behind and it will be hard to catch up. do not miss class eithe

He gave us one group project (3 parts), 4 tests, and no homework unless you skipped class but he did have journals almost every class. You could really turn in your work whenever before the semester ended, it didn't really matter. He's really good at explaining things and the tests were pretty easy, just don't ask too many questions & you'll b fine

Prof. Teachout is honestly a nice guy & all he wants to do is to make you understand the topics hes talking about. Even tho I passed with a C & this is coming from someone whos not even good in math all you have to do is study, do your work, & participate. Do all that & youll be fine.

He's really mellow and wants the class to be easy for his students. He takes a ton of time to help his students and gives lots of time for tests. He reviews the prior chapters for a while before the test and is very lenient on when you turn in homework. The homework is just a few sentences summarizing what you learned.

Teachout is a great professor for Statistics. He will answer any questions you have and will make sure you succeed in this class. Consists of 4 exams and 1 final, with 1 group project. As long as you show up to every class possible, he gives you classwork and homework points in class. He does give you journal assignments that are very easy.

If you think you're bad at math and you think you're gonna fail, then you should definitely take him. I was so worried walking into this math class that I was gonna fail, but he made everything really clear. I f you have any questions, he won't make you feel bad like other professors. So fare everything, been going well in his class. Now it's only halfway through the course, but I can say he really does care about his students. His online website helps a lot. Even though COVID- 19 has shut everything down he still working hard posting videos and asking if you need help. He keeps everything nice, and organized, and understand.

I took his class as an online summer class There was a lot of homework and a test for each week. He gives full credit for the homework as long as it is completed but grades really tough on the tests. Overall he is pretty good and his website is set up perfectly so you know where to find everything. Math is not my thing but I did pretty well.

I took intro stats as an online 5 week class. It was super manageable and Prof Teachout was very organized. The lectures were Youtube videos he posted and the homework was from his textbook online (free). 3 tests, a final, and a project. The tests were easy and were short answer. The project was simple and straightforward. Would recommend 100%!!!

Took him during quarantine of Spring 2020, he's a very nice professor and helped us adjust to online learning. Before we went remote, he always let us do homework in class, and made Stats very understandable. He put up video lectures that were very helpful when we went remote, and there was a bit of homework but it was doable. Take him!

Mr. Teachout is a great stats teacher to take. I took his course during quarantine and all of his online lectures are clear and easy to understand. He is homework heavy, but understanding if you could not complete 1-2 problems. Project is easy, tests are easy as long as you take good notes. Wish I could have had him in person.

For all my covid folks, there are no mandatory zoom meetings!! The lectures are all on youtube, which are very short and straightforward. The homework and tests are pretty simple for the most part as long as you watch the lectures. He is a very nice and helpful teacher, and so I don't see how you cannot get an A.

Great teacher. He provides great notes and lectures that are easy to understand. There are Unit tests that you should have no problem passing if you watch the lectures and do the work. Professor Matt Teachout is the best professor! Lectures are amazing and can be found on his youtube channel. Textbook is free and supplements the video lectures. He responds quickly to emails. HW is not a lot and gets done quickly. Tests are not difficult as long as you study the lecture videos/notes & TB. Understanding vocab & theory is crucial!!

I highly recommend taking this professor, you won't regret it. Your grade mostly consists of 3 exams, a project, and a final. The hw is just plain work, you'll get full credit if you do it, however, it is great practice. The exams are fairly easy, as it is mostly on vocab. His lectures are very clear and understanding, and they are all on youtube.

I don't think I'll ever have a better math professor than this one, and this is the first math class I have taken so far. I don't know if it is me, but he makes stats look so much easier, even though this is an Intro to Stats class. He also gives good feedbacks on every assignment you turn in and he encourages you to do well.

The material itself can be challenging, but the prof. does an AMAZING job at walking you through everything to set you up for success as exams are easier than hw. The best professor you can take for an online stats class. The lectures and homework are straightforward and he lets you go at your own pace without taking points off. You can submit anything late until the last day of class and he will take it and give you full credit. He guides you through test reviews, hw questions and even a whole project.

The best sats professor there is, there's four chapter and each chapter has about 6 section, each sections has lectures videos and hw, one project but very easy, ended with a 98 in the class and I just did all the work. tests area also pretty easy.

Professor Teachout filled our online session with incredibly informative and energetic lectures. They were a pleasure to watch and made the content easy to understand. Do yourself a favor and take Professor Teachout's Intro to Stats class! I can't stress enough just how amazing Prof. Teachout is. I suck at math and yet I took his accelerated 8-week class. He explains things in a way that is easy for me to understand. During your hw you are graded on your effort, not how correct you are.

Professor Teachout's Math140 class is pretty easy. He allows you to have extensions on the homework assignments, but encourages that you keep up and turn in assignments sooner rather than later so you won't fall behind. The test focus on mainly vocab and math problems. He's very easy and flexible to work with so don't hesitate to reach out to him!

I had this professor in the last spring and I really enjoyed this class. There is about 2-3 homework assignments due per week and his lectures are very helpful. The homework isn't too difficult and the exams aren't too hard as well. I would take a class with this professor again if I could. :)

Take statistics with Teachout! He is caring and his assignments are straightforward and relatively easy. There are projects that you have to do, but he gives you direct examples so there is no way to get things wrong. The final was incredibly easy, I got a 94% on it and I didn't even study. Just watch the lectures and take notes. Highly recommend!

Responds to emails super quickly, gives you above and beyond responses and feedback if you ask for help, his lectures are super concise but helpful, and compared to my calc classes the homework took about 1/4 the time. highly recommend if you're taking him for math 140

Great professor. Points are pretty much given and for completing notes and work in class. Only exam was final exam and not to hard, the rest is based on class assignments and group projects.

No need to buy a textbook because he has everything you need on Canvas and his website. He is a great teacher that is easy to reach if you have trouble with understanding an assignment. The classwork is easy and would definitely take his class again. Don't procrastinate or wait last minute to do work because notes and homework is handwritten.

I highly recommend Professor Teachout. I took the fully online intro to stats and it was a breeze. The due dates for hw are every couple of days but you can submit late for full credit. He leaves a comment on every assignment. Overall a really caring guy and a great teacher.

Amazing class! you can have an ass due in august and you have up to december to submit it, otherwise it gets marked missing. this was such a relief for me and i could balance this class successfuly with other stressful coursework (luis lara spanish :/). amazing lectures and you can tell hes passionate about his work!

I really don't like math but this professor made it very easy. Just follow the lecture videos he provides and you won't be stressed. He leaves feedback and cares about his students. Exams were so easy and organized. Lectures and hw help with exams! I suggest doing the hw asap because often times I felt overwhelmed waiting until the last minute.
