Dr. Walker is the man; he made me feel right at home in class and was very helpful when needby; he doesn't get your speech grades back very fast but that's minor compared with the options he gives you for speeches; one of the best speech teachers to get

I loved him; if you speak up in class and are outgoing, he will like you a lot... he is a smartass; really laid back and nice.

Nice and laid back yet very serious when it comes to grading. If you mess a speech up, he will grade you down(but fairly). I asked for help once and he was always very enthusiastic to help me thereafter. Excellent overall.

Very nice teacher. Doesn't get you your scores back very quickly, but all 'n all he is a nice guy. Don't sit in the front row unless you want your ear drums blown out and bring up sports.....football or basketball!

Very helpful and nice. Learned a lot from his class. Gives constructive criticism and is very understanding. Just do the work and you'll earn yourself an A.

Matt is my favorite speech teacher of all time. He is so helpful and doesn't care if you were first or last in high school or college. He only cares that you are the best that you can be. Only being in his early 30's he is such a great teacher.

Nice guy, good teacher, but grades a little on the hard side. Unless you're an awesome speaker it's hard to get an A on a speech..but if u participate in class you'll get extra points.

I don't think that this guy actually grades anything you turn in. His attitude gets old, fast. But his classes are very decent, and he won't pick on you unless you ask for it.

Matt's a really great teacher, and while it's true that he has his favorites, you don't have to be an athelete to be one of them. If you're friendly, do your work and participate, then you'll make out just fine in his classes. Lots of fun, really nice guy, great teacher!

Dr Walker is a great guy. At first I didnt know what to think, but now I know he is someone that I can rely on for help and comfort. In some ways he does have his favorites...but...its all good!Sporty and Energetic people are recommended for his class. Enough said! GO MATT WALKER!

Great teacher. Very informative and knows what he is talking about. However, I am not clearon what his definition of a speech is. Has an attitude, but his sarcasim applies to everyone in the class.He has no favorites. I look forward to his class. WALKER IS GREAT!!!!

Walker is one of the coolest teachers I have ever met. I dont know what the person towards the bottom was smokin when they wrote the negative comment cause Walker is the shiznit... Hes funny, easy to get along with, fair on grading, clear on what he wants from students.. He is the MAN!!! GO WALKER!!

I loved this class. I thought it was pretty easy. He jokes around a lot even though sometimes it is hard to tell if he is joking or not. I thought he graded pretty easy. Just know what your doing and what you are supposed to be talking about. Dr Walker is reall great!!

Warning to all who take his 102 class. Don't give an info speech on mullets... He will hate it.

fairly easy class, and fun. You get to do your speeches on topics that you enjoy. There is a study guide for the mid term and final, so you know exactly what's on the test. I'd recommend him, definitely.

He's awesome! Take him if you have the chance. He's very easy as a teacher. Just have a mid-term and final. Both you get study guides for and their exact as the test. Speeches are easy. Just an easy class overall...TAKE MATT!!

Dr. Walker is a very caring and dedicated professor. He has interesting stories and is truly into his profession. I really love taking his classes, he is a great person and teacher! TAKE HIM!

Mr. Walker is seriosly one of the best teachers in the communication department. He makes class fun and his papers and assignments are pretty easy.

Dr. Walker is highly recommended. PROS: Fair grader, flexible deadlines on quizzes, good sense of humor, interesting lectures. CONS: slow grader (you might not know what you got on a speech for a couple weeks, and don't even bother checking ecompanion).

Dr. Walker is probably the best teacher in the comm. department. He's fair, easy to understand, flexible in deadlines, and overall a nice guy.

um yeah he may be a nice guy, but he's just way too sarcastic... his class is okay i guess... um just know your stuff for speeches and try and fight the nervousness.

He is a very easy teacher, and is easily strayed from the subject. His tests are easy too, he basically gives you the exact questions to the tests. Just go to class and you'll be fine.

He is one of the best profs. you will ever have. If you show up and do the work you will do fine. Dr. Walker wants you to do well and he will guide you if you apply yourself.

Oh, Walker. Great teacher both in class and while in his office. He is willing to help when asked and is very instructional with his teachings. He will tell you what he is looking for and let you go from there. He brings the textbook information to more of a college/Northwest student-friendly perspective and keeps learning interesting.

Easy Class, but teacher is rather sarcastic. This was the first class I ever had with Dr. Walker. He seemed to really enjoy talking to the athletes in the class. I am feeling so-so about taking him again next spring

Dr. Walker is the best professor on campus. There is no way the majority of comments are misleading by any means. Yes, Dr. Walker's classes are not blow-off classes. He keeps the students interested in his work and it's attainable to recieve a good grade. He is willing to help students with whatever. He is very punctual.

He's a really fun teacher, and i love the way he teaches, he's the best from what i hear from all the other Oral Communcation classes, they don't like their teachers! Guess i lucked out!

Walker is a really awesome teacher. He's my favorite from my fall semester for sure. He makes class SO MUCH FUN! He's willing to help with speeches as well. The only thing bad about him is he doesnt respond to emails - ever. But he's definately the best Oral Comm teacher at NW!

Oh, Dr. Walker... He is my favorite teacher at Northwest. Learning happens outside of the classroom, yes, but Dr. Walker relates all his material to his students, which makes learning more enjoyable and easier. His expectations are high, but works with you in order to achieve the scores you are working for. He is direct and honest, but fair.

Dr. Walker is amazing. He is definitely my favorite professor at Northwest. Very down to earth guy who wants you to succeed. Extremely nice. You can also poke some fun at him and he'll do it right back. Great class. Great guy.

Awesome teacher!

He puts on a tough guy act for the first couple of weeks. After that, he's actually pretty funny. Small Group Comm. was a cake walk.

2 parts to the class: quizes & speeches. very funny and sarcastic, just listen to his directions and you will do fine

Not a tough class, and Dr. Walker is a fun instructor that keeps lectures entertaining. You do have a long (10 page) paper for this course, but the I had no problems with the mid term and final with with fairly minimal studying.

Really easy Communication class. Hes funny.

He acts like a tough guy, but is also a very joking person. Come to class and sit through his lectures and you should get an easy A. He has a few quizzes that are only 5 questions long. Online exams, he gives you most of the questions the day before the exam for you to study that night. Overall you should definitely take his class.

This class was a film study class so attendance was very important, this professor was a little rough around the edges but if you just laughed at his jokes and interacted you would do well. make sure to read the stuff he sends out and reference them in the essays you have to write. the assignments were a total of 4 essays and no tests
