Great Professor, knowledgeable and by the end of the course you can apply all the material you learned as an informed citizen outside of class. I enjoyed Professor Barclay's daily quizzes as I understood the material more by engaging in the lectures and it encouraged class discussions. It was structured and enabled a clear transition to the tests.

Professor Barclay is Awesome! Really takes his time to make sure students have answers to their questions. He is super open and honest about how he will grade assignments and what he expects of students. The way his class is set up forces you to pay attention and really learn the material on a day-to-day basis.

Get ready to read a lot lol. The lectures were great and always gives you feedback to ensure the you grasp the topic. I would definitely take his class again and I would recommend him to other students.

Professor Barclay is the most laid back teacher you'll ever have. When you need a response to canvas about issues he responds within the same day. He wants you to be in class to help you succeed and will help you doing so. I recommend him if you have a political major and need to pass the class. :)

He's a great teacher very kind. He will help you if you need help. He responds to emails in 24 hours if he doesn't email again because he probably didn't see it. In his class the lectures come with quizzes. So you have to pay attention. Attendance is mandatory. Great teacher overall.

Professor Barclay is a considerate teacher that wants everyone to be successful in his class. This class is based on in class assignments and videos. It's hard to fail this class, as long as you don't miss class and do the in class and homework (watching videos and answering 10 questions) you'll pass his class.

I learned many things about this subject that I was unaware of. Overall, Barclay is a pretty Solid Professor. The lectures are based on Textbook chapters, which are individually covered each week. As long as you are engaged in the class, you should have no problem Passing the Class.

The class was online, so I do not know what his class setting would be like, but from his lectures, he seems to know what he's talking about. Also, his lectures are not boring (I thought they would be).

The class is easily accessible. You can do it on the road, but it is important to watch the videos throughly and as often as you can. Professor Barclay takes his time to make his own videos for you to better understand the lecture.

I have mixed feelings about him. A lot of watching videos, movies, Khan Academy, etc, and then answering questions. It was an online course so it makes sense, although he assigned a lot. The class felt repetitive but it was a pretty easy class overall, he also seemed nice and approachable when emailing him. He could've structured his Canvas better.

Teaching is very clear and thorough. Very understanding, not a hard class, just quizzes. I would definitely recommend this class. Trust me, it is not a hard class. Final was not too hard, but a very easy class.

Very interesting and fun class. Textbooks and videos you're required to view are easily accessible and free. While the amount of work may seem overwhelming at first, most if not all of it is digestible and can be done rather quickly. He makes sure you understand the concepts by giving thorough lectures and resources.

Having Mr. Barclay as teacher was quite nice. Hid was very clear in his instructions and was able to give me feedback when I needed it. This was an online course so all the work was due every Sunday and midnight. There is weekly discussion post, and readings. The actual work consisted of video lectures with quizzes after each one. It was a really easy course and the professor was great with communication.

One quality I enjoyed about his teaching, is that he remains neutral & professional in his lectures. Considering it's a politics class, the non biased approach is key.

I loved taking his class. Everything was always explained very well and gave us enough feedback and always made us feel like regardless of our grade we were doing a great job. His work is very simple to understand and very easy to complete. His lectures were interesting I really enjoyed them and my attention span is very bad.

I took his online class and it was great. You are able to complete the assignments at your own pace with and are able to turn in assignments late if you need it. His own lectures are straight to the point, making it easy to learn the material, he also gives extra credit opportunities. Honestly the best online class I have taken.

This class was one of my favorites and I looked forward to actually learning and practicing my political chops. Mr. Barclay does a great job of engaging and having timely examples of current politics. Some videos had inaccurate timestamps to watch, but if you read and do the work and you'll thrive. My only regret is not taking this class in person.

Very sigma and amazing professor.

Lots of work, each assignment is worth 10 points, overall points you can earn throughout the class were in the 2,000s. Very understanding teacher though, does not grade strictly, show up to class and you'll be fine.

Currently taking him for the summer, and I really can't complain. It's very laid back and easy; all you have to do is prepare by watching a lot of videos and reading, and then take a few quick quizzes in order to keep up with his class. I'm pleased that I picked him as my professor for POL-1.

This class has and will remain one of my top favorite college level classes I've taken at Hartnell. Not only is this professor laid-back, hilarious, and funny, but he's caring and considerate of the situations of his students. There's so many points given in this class that failing a couple of quizzes won't hurt your grade one bit! :)

This professor gave clear instructions, very flexible with late work, and the class is very mentally stimulating. The work isn't really hard, you are assigned reading chapters but it wasn't anything bad. If you don't pass this class, you just didn't try or do the work. Wish more professors were like this one.

The professor's professional abilities that I've seen is his demonstration of using lectures, question discussions in regard to a question from the assignment or a student, and listening to others opinion. The class was easy to obtain material clearly and we are able to talk to him after class for one-on-one discussions or about given assignments.

Barclay is super chill and nice, will give you lots of opportunities to raise your grape even if did bad all semester. Really helpful when you reach him out. Overall, very good lectures and very interesting. Just quite a lot of work.

Nothing but a great and understanding professor! I took the online Summer course alot of 5-7 short question multiple choice questions. Assignments include videos created by professor or YouTube as well provides textbook. Weekly group discussion. Overall easy to reach if any questions, clear understanding of grading, and an easy class to understand!

Good online class and clear curriculum.

He is super chill. The course is easy and divides the content up into bite sized videos. This makes it so there is a lot of assignments. It is an easy A but still teaches the content effectively. Discussion posts are worth ~25-30%. He accepts late work with a weekly penalty of 10% I think. My mistake was not spending the time I needed to for an A.

Professor Barclay explains things in a clear way and makes the class interesting. The lessons are well organized, and students feel comfortable asking questions. The feedback on homework is helpful and shows the professor cares about our learning.

This course gives students a brief understanding of American Politics. Participation is not required but is encouraged. The quizzes and tests tend to be straightforward. Overall, this was a short but interesting class!

Mr. Barclay has a very reasonable late work policy. He provides clear insight onto where you can improve in discussion / paragraph response points. His political science class was not a difficult class, and I received the grade I did because of my own inaction regarding timely work submission.

This class was really easy, but it had a lot of homework. He assigns 30–40 short videos each week, about 5–15 minutes long, followed by multiple-choice quizzes. There are occasional documentaries with questions and weekly discussions. If you stay organized, meet deadlines, and put in the effort, this class is easy and a good way to earn an A.

Overall the flow of work is consistent, not too much work or too little. The courses and the assignments are never inconsistent *so you know what to expect the following week (videos, discussions, quizzes). Professor Barclay has very informative lectures that are fairly easy to understand. He can assign quite a bit of work sometimes, but it is usually clearly laid out and not particularly difficult to complete if you follow along with the course content. I took the online course and was very happy w it you complete it at your paste it was several assignments but if you divide them throughout the week it should not be too much every thing was due by the end of the week.
