took him for calc 2 the material was very hard but he made you understand. he was funny and very nice. never made you feel dumb and he knew this subject very well. he was a great teacher.

He is a really good teacher with a genuine interest in seeing his students succeed.

i took Matt in a hybrid class, so i thought that because we would only meet once a week, he would use that day to lecture, but we did group activities a lot. he would only lecture for about 30 minutes, and the class was 2 hours long. he is nice and helpful though, and if you miss a test, you can make it up during office hours.

i thought he was a great teacher, very fair, and easy to understand. if you dont get it he's very helpful, all homework is done online, it takes getting used to. tests aren't too bad either.

Bourez is a fantastic guy, of course math is a subject that has a strict curriculum so the hardness isn't on him, but as far as his clarity the man made more lightbulbs click off than any other math teachers i have had before. Hes a good teacher and a good guy.I would suggest take him even though he doesnt collect Hw it would be stupid to not do it

Definitely an awesome teacher! Gives plenty of examples in class and doesnt really assign homework he gives worksheets that are due. Tests aren't extremely hard and he prepares you for them. He welcomes you to ask questions and misses class quite a bit. Bourez and Tom are probably the best math teachers!

Fun class over all, he is very helpful though it does help that the midterm and final are all done on the computer. I highly recommend him if your not a math person.

Instruction was very clear. The homework and quizzes were online, and the tests at the end of each chapter were given in class. Great teacher- I have taken more of his classes since. I definitely recommend him.

I loved this class. The lectures were very clear and made perfect sense to me. The final grade was based on quizzes, tests, and the final as there was no mandatory homework. This was one of my favorite classes I've taken at COS.

My highest recommendation for Matt. This professor was relatable, clear, amicable and most of all very approachable. I really enjoyed his class. The quality of his teaching skills kept me engaged and interested enough to pursue an A instead of settling for whatever grade. Hats off to you Matt!

Mr. Bourez is kinda hot if you like the smart, geeky, tucks-in-his shirt kind of guy. He's funny, and very helpful. Being in class everyday is a must. He breaks it all down, so take notes.

You will fail any math class if you don't study and memorize. That's what it's all about. And when you do study, it will pay off. Bourez doesn't choose favorites so there is no way around it. Every test highly effects your grade. Most important, practice for the final in Bourez's class.

This guy is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had! Never have I ever understood math so well. Homework doesn't count in your grade, its just practice. Your grade is based on how well you do on your tests. Funny guy, super nice and extremely helpful! Take his class!

I recommend this teacher. He has a great attitude in class. Take good notes and you will pass. He goes over a review before each test. Take him for any math!

Very helpful and friendly. Not a boring class. There is a lot of online work but at the same time he puts a lot of effort into it by making the lecture notes avaiable, you just have to print them. He also gives good opportunity for extra credit. Overall not a hard class, I would recommed this class.

Wonderful teacher!!!He is very clear with everything he teaches. Used online for homework but was not hard. Take notes and you will do fine and ask questions he is always there to help. His test are not bad at all and are short. Just need to study just like any math class in order to know what you are doing. GREAT TEACHER...WILL TAKE AGAIN :)

I would never take another math teacher if I didn't have to! :( He is so patient and not only teaches math well, but cares enough to help you become a better student! The homework was not excessive, just enough to make sure you learn the concept and the tests are fair.

Mr. Bourez is a great teacher and he is very approachable. His way for teaching math is very helpful and he is always available in Math Lab for extra help. We did not need Math book as all we needed was in MyITLab.

Very nice person, knows his subject and presents it clearly. Tests are hard and questions must answered his way. Available in mathlab to help. Opened homework assignments the week before finals to complete or redo for a better grade. No book, just mathlab access.

Mr. Bourez overall is an excellent professor. He gives his students opportunities to earn extra credit. For the most part, he's very good at explaining things thoroughly, step by step. He allows his students to think instead of just explaining it himself which is good for developing critical thinking. Very friendly, and a great man.

I'm absolutely awful when it comes to math, but Mr. Bourez makes it very clear for me to understad. The homework was easy but tedious. And attendance doesn't affect grades since he uploads his notes and you will use MyMathLab. I will take him again for sure.

I have been out of school for 30 years. Math was never my subject back then, and I still didn't catch on at first. Mr. Bourez is an outstanding math teacher. He made sure that his students understood the formula's and wanted all of his students to pass. If you failed, that was your own fault. I passed his class with an "A".

I love Mr. Bourez! I took him for math 360 and I will be taking him again for math 230. He's an awesome teacher. He is serious about teaching the stuff and gives little breaks in between lectures so you don't "look dead" walking out of class. He does use Myitlab and gave indefinite try's on quizzes and homework (at least for math 360).

Lots of homework. The homework load was very heavy, so need to put the time in to do the mymathlab homework, quizzes, reflective homework and online tests. The math is difficult, algebra can be very difficult! He's a great teacher though, very forgiving but you need to put in the effort and don't quit!

I took him for math 200 my first semester ever in college, he was so easy going and gave you great feedback if you were failing or passing. I never showed up only for my test because of my lack of motivation and all the hw was on mymathlab so i found no need to go in but I probably should have to understand the material more, he's a great teacher.

If you struggle with math, this is the teacher for you. He teaches by using several different methods in order to cover the different learning styles. I finally passes a math class thanks to Mr. Bourez and earned a B! Amazing teacher. He is in the MathLab weekly and is determined to facilitate students' success.

Professor Matt Bourez is a wonderful teacher. He takes things from his class and compares them to everyday life. He is hilarious and very engaging with his students. In his class we used MyMathLab and even though there was a lot of homework he allowed you to choose how you want to be graded in the class, this gave us a fair advantage.

I'm taking Mr Bourez this spring '18 semester for Trigonometry. Of all the math teachers I've had, his classes are the most interesting! His lectures are fun. He's extremely nice, smart, and willing to help. He was willing and patient to work with me as a student. He will not disappoint you!! Take his class!!

I've taken this professor for three semesters (Math 360,200,230) and I have to say I wouldn't have it any other way. All the homework is online (MyMathLab) and you have to make sure to pay attention to the due dates. If you stay on top of your homework he gives a bonus for your in class tests too.

If you hate math, do not take him. He does move along fast but I liked him as a professor. He is super helpful when it comes to understanding the material. There is a lot of homework and quizzes but they are both done on mymathlab online.

Very great instructor. Makes class fun by cracking jokes once in a while. Took him during the summer and was fairly easy. If you miss class you will fall behind. Mid term and final only 30 questions and gives you points for showing work. I plan on taking him again. Awesome instructor.

I took math 230 online it was okay essay but his tests were hard because you had to memorize every formula. I wish we could had use notes atleast to write formulas but he at least gives you credit on some of the work.

Matt is an awesome teacher. A lot of the class is online (homework and quizzes) and we had 3 in-class exams. I had a BABY in the middle of the semester and he worked with me to make sure I stayed on track and passed. If you need help he's very easy to access, and he checks his emails frequently. I've taken him before and would again!

Bourez made statistics easy to learn over the summer. In a short period of time I was able to keep up with him because of how clear he made it when teaching. There is a midterm and final, along with one group project before the final. Show up, do your homework, pay attention in class and you will pass. Definitely would take again!

bourez is very nice and willing to help! there was one group project, multiple chapter quizzes, two exams, and a bunch of little assignments. everything is on pearson statlab + all assignments, quizzes, tests have retakes except for the project. theres a lot of work and sometimes i felt like i was dying but it was worth it bc i got an A + :)

reasonable amount of work. All was online due to COVID. Our class was not mandatory zoom lectures. Everything offers at least 1 redo (even Midterm and Final) which helps to learn from your mistakes. Offers pre recorded videos of him explaining and working through assignments. take advantage of retakes and videos and you will get an A!

His class is easy to pass as long as you stay present and pay really close attention to the lecture. The work we do in this class is normal for a math class. Really clear lectures and definitely helps you if you have any questions. Overall a great class!

All assignments are done in MyLab-Math, consisting of hw due T/Th, chapter quizzes, and final. The lectures he posts are not very detailed, I recommend early on finding a good Calculus professor on youtube (Prof Leonard, Organic Chem Tutor) if not a quick learner. My good rating is only because he opened unfinished hw at the end of the semester.

Took his statistics class so I could tutor it, but also knew several people in his calculus class and saw him teach part of it. He really wants everyone to learn and is really helpful without making anyone feel stupid.

I took this class over the summer, so there was alot of homework that was given to us in a short amount of time. If you're taking this class you're also taking math 321 as the support class. DONT skip this class, this class is where the professor will help you and guide you to understand the material.

Great guy! His lectures are easy to understand but it is also to easy to get bored and day dream. He is easy to talk to and wants all his student to pass. Everything is very repetitive as far as homework and tests.

Professor Bourez is an amazing professor. His class was pretty straight forward and easy to understand. His grading consisted of online homework assignments, 1 project, a practice midterm/final, and a midterm/final. You wont regret his class

Bourez is a great guy and a better teacher. He always provides every student with typed and printed notes on his lectures for students to fill out in class. If you email him or stay after class he's always happy to answer questions. At the beginning of every class period, he takes homework questions from students and goes over them with the class.

He is very clear with his instructions and takes time to go over the material. Pay attention and go to class. If you need extra help, ask him or go to the tutoring center. Make some good notes and use those notes for the midterm and final. If you put in the work, you will be successful. I am not a math person and I did it. Good luck :)

Not only he is a kindhearted teacher, the sample midterm and final are just like the actual midterm and final. Also, you are able to do the exams twice, in class and at home to get a better grade. The best grade he will keep and give you that score. Great teacher, 100% recommend if statistics is a bit harder for you to learn.

Take Bourez! His lectures are great and is always accessible outside of class. Pay attention in class, do the work and you should be fine. Go to tutoring or ask the professor himself. Make sure to pay attention to his lectures and take great notes.

I took Math 21 with this professor, and it was straightforward. You will use Pearson for lectures and the exams (midterm and final).The exams are not hard; they are not cumulative, and he offers practice exams the day before. Make sure to stay on top of your work as it's easy to fall behind in online courses and take good notes!

Bourez's Intro to Stats is hard but easy. As long as you do the all of the hw, you should be just fine. All hw is on mystatlab and has weekly discussion boards on canvas that are easy. Mid term and final have practice versions so take advantage. There is one project that is not hard. Take notes of everything and keep them handy you will need them.

He was a good professor, he cares, and I would recommend him. The class was over the summer, and I hated it, but he made it bearable fun guy, and he knows his stuff.
