I love professor cheung, I have taken him for eng 84 & 1A. yeah he makes you work for your grade and does assign about 3 papers and a research paper but he is on a chill level w. the class & always gets back to emails quickly. I recommend you take him, you'd be trippen if you didn't.

He is there to help whenever you need it, the class is challenging but you learn a lot in the process. To get an A in his class you need to absolutely do all the reading and really good on all the essays. overall good guy, approachable, funny, nice...highly recommended!

He is a nice teacher, but his class is not an easy A. I think he might have been biased when he grades the essays. he grades semi hard. Doesn't offer a lot of extra credit and doesn't really give you any sympathy. His class was interesting. Just do well on the essays he assigns and you'll do fine.

i love cheung. his class was sometimes a challenge for me and i do enjoy writing essays sometimes. he's a dorky and sweet guy. definitely try to talk to him outside of class because he is always willing to help. i recommend him if you want to learn some cool perspectives on literature.

Mr. Cheung is hilarious! I always look forward to class because i actually learn. I highly recommend taking him. He's really easy to talk to and he is a fairly reasonable person. He's known for being a bit of a tough grader when it comes to essays, but that's only because he knows what he's talking about. Do your reading and participate in class.

Mr. Cheung was my first college professor, and so far my favorite. I actually LEARNED in his class, and I laughed every day. It is an easy A, just pay attention in class and get your homework done. Homework is important!! If you have any questions he is very helpful. I miss being in his class; I wish all professors were like him!

He is also very funny and a little quirky but it makes class really fun.He really does go over everything clearly and if you don't understand something, it isn't hard to approach him after class.He also used the same book for both classes which was extremely helpful!

Very funny and charismatic. Class is easy if you do all the work. Only complaint is that he sometimes forgets to put your grade in for your work so DONT loose/throw away your work or you won't get points.

Taught me what I needed to know for English 1A. I did slack off at the end because it was just a PF class. At that point I had a high B, so I didn't care to do the rest of the assignments. The way he assigns the papers helps evolves any students writings. He was a cool dude. He likes participation.

He is a really good Prof I took him in the fall of 2012 and I have to say that he really does give you a good foundation on how to be able to write and be able to make your self a better writer and to be successful in college reading and writing. Overall I had fun in his class and I was able to make friends in this class as well.

It was actually not a hard class. He's a good professor who cares about his students and he does have office hours in which he can help you outside of class. I would recommend him and also would take his class again.

Prof. Cheung is pretty chill. My girlfriend goes to the same church as he does. He likes to tell the congregation i barely passed his class. Haha. Prof. Cheung is one of the best english teachers out there at El Camino College. Try to take him for both English 84 and English A. You will for sure pass his class, just do all your homework and read the context. Do the essays if you have him for English A. He is a tough grader but provides tutors in his labs. Good Luck!

Mr. Cheung is a resourceful professor for English 84. Aside from the class book ("Outliers"), he learns from the Vocab and Comprehension books, the latter being useful for the exit exams. I took him in Spring 2015 to retake the class I needed for English 1A. Those of you who want to get into 1A the next semester, dedicate your time to Cheung.

Prof. Cheung is never late to class. He is the nicest teacher I have ever had. Just come to class and do the work. It is not that difficult.

Prof. C is a very funny teacher, great person, and has sarcastic humor. VERY HARD GRADER ON ESSAYS! the prompt is never clear there is a lot of going on. I barely have a B in that class. Never have I ever received a B in an English class. You get into a lot of group activities. If you don't do your blue book homework he'll send you outside to do it

Professor Cheung has a very sarcastic sense of humor and it isn't really for everyone. His class was always entertaining though and he did offer a couple of extra credit opportunities. I'd take them because you will definitely need them. He grades essays super harsh which hurts your grade since they made up most of it. He did round me up though.

He is a great eng prof. I definitely would recommend his course! We only read one book and the rest of the material was derived from articles. You will need the textbook because many of the articles are straight from the book. If you ever need help with anything he gives great feedback! It's easy to pass, but also really easy for your grade to drop

Professor Cheung is a really chill teacher. He is also very lenient, gives a grace period, and accepts late work. His class meetings were fun and he regularly gives extra credit in class. However, he does grade pretty hard on essays, and since it's online I never really had the chance to ask many questions. Take him, but be prepared to write a lot!

Professor Cheung is an excellent professor overall he knows how to entertain on the zoom calls to make it less boring. Homework wise its pretty easy and self explanatory. However he does assign a lot of papers and he can grade tough.

Prof. Cheung will give you tons of extra credit during the class meeting, so make sure you attend the meeting. This class has about 3 essays, 1 midterm, and 1 final essay. His grading is a little bit tough, but he gives you great feedback, so do read those feedback carefully, and don't make the same mistake again.

Be Prepared He has an amazing personality and is very accessible! He does grade a bit tough on essays so its important to follow his feedback correctly. Hes also very big on participation. We had 1 essay, a midterm, and 2 research papers. He is, however, very entertaining and funny :) If writing isnt your best suit, I wouldnt really recommend.

He's chill lol but it was basically at HS level--nothing extraordinary. I think he grades fairly, but strictly, and you need to get used to his style of grading--make sure you follow what he wants in the rubric and use his office hours if you aren't sure. He lets you resubmit any 2 papers/assignmnts that you want to do better or haven't turned in.

Really engaging teacher, he's super understanding if you suffer from adhd/ depression, and he's always open to discussing things. He's very sassy but it's just hilarious makes him even more relatable and easier to talk to!

Overall good professor, always willing to help. There are extra credit opportunities and he allows you to rewrite an essay for a better score towards the end of the semester. I'd say he's a tough grader, but he's helpful to fix corrections.

bro prof. cheung is just a chill guy. my class was the most unserious class he's had, with lots of fun whiteboard group work every week, and drawing comics for grades. buy or rent the textbooks; you'll need them. he's very professional but too damn funny & sassy. be ready to present your group work. his class is so worth it if you try, TRUST!!!!

Professor Cheung is a tough but fair grader who makes the class engaging with group projects. The material can be challenging, but using Unstuck study alongside the textbook and attending office hours really helps. Overall, a rewarding experience.

Prof. Cheung is amazing!!!! He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed in his class. It definitely requires exerting effort, but as long as you try, I think you're assured to get a good grade. Also, he's one of the only professors who awards extra credit; do not take his opportunities for granted. You got this! :)

Pretty good professor. I had this class online. There was a ton like actually a lot of extra credit available. He gave really good feedback on essays and assignments. Pretty funny as well. Fair grader on essays and assignments.

His class is difficult but it helps you grow. He has lots of engaging and creative activities that make the class interesting, and he is a debatably funny teacher. Not an easy A, he takes the grading system literally (C as average, B above average, A extraordinarily) but I don't know anyone who failed his class. Take it if you want to learn.

Professor Cheung was very caring and helpful. But you need to do your assignment on time to stay on track. I recommend that you read the materials thoroughly and start your assignments early.

Great professor, tons of extra credit, assignments were more towards the creative side so definitely take his classes if you like drawing/design.
