Professor Dunn is funny and kind. He gives great lectures that keep you interested. Class consisted of 3 exams which are similar to the study guides and 1 paper. Fun class.

Prof Matthew Dunn is a gem of a professor. Sociology isnt my favorite subject & is hard for me to pass, nevertheless with taking Dunns class, I have passed. He is passionate about Sociology, and hes funny. He is also very understanding. Extra credit is offered, 2 point daily reflections, 3 exams, Study guides, 1 paper, and Benjamin. :D

Took him for Sociology 110 which was Marriage and the Family. Very interesting class and I felt that I learned a lot! The class consists of 3-4 exams, 2 papers, and extra credit!

lectures went by so slow tbh but he's a fun guy. i love how he tries to get the class involved and easy a; the tests are based on the study guides he gives. there are 2 papers which are easy prompts. i like sociology bc of him.

Honestly one of the best professors I have ever taken. So knowledgeable, funny, down to earth, etc. Easy to participate because he is very open to feedback. 4 exams, 3 papers that are short, no more than 3 pgs double spaced. Exams are based 100% on study guides!!

I took Professor Dunn this past summer session. His class was an easy A, I literally passed with 101% if you don't pass its because you are really putting zero effort. pay close attention to the jeopardy game he plays to review the exams (ALL answers are in there, so take pictures of the screen or record!) and just study !

Hes one of the easiest professor I ever had and he is an easy grader. His test are super easy and it was based on playing the Jeopardy game for the exam review. 3 exams and 1 final which is multiple choice questions and two short answers; he usually give you the two short answer questions before the exams. 3 essays and its usually 2-3 pages.

I really recommend to those of you who are taking Sociology class because his class was easy and pretty chilled and he does give one extra credit essay. 4 exams with multiple choice and two short answers and 3 essay papers. Super easy class! You only get to miss 4 times throughout the semester. Only two papers and the first one isnt even graded hard. However, the book he assigned the second paper to be on was super boring so I didnt do it but still pass his class with an A. To pass his class u just have to do the study guides for the test and show up to class.

I really enjoyed his class. he made his lectures fun and would crack cute little jokes; dad jokes lol. the tests were exactly like the study guides and notes, we review for the tests, and there were 2 papers. if you fail this class it's embarrassing because it's literally so easy and interesting enough that you'll actually learn something.

Dr. Dunn is an amazing professor and genuinely cares for his students. His passion for sociology is contagious. I took his class during the summer and no text book was required. The day before your exam, he'll go over EXACTLY what will be on the test, including the two short answer questions. He assigns 2 papers, the longest one being 3-4 pages

Very Straight forward class. Gives great lectures and makes class interesting. His test are easy and follow everything in the lecture. I would take his class again. Get ready for a lot of dad jokes!

Definitely the best class I've taken at Cerritos because he gives you everything you need to pass. He gave 2 essays, 3 exams and even offered extra credit. You can tell he really loves teaching. Pay attention to his jeopardy games because everything will be on his exams, and do his study guides.

Professor Dunn was absolutely amazing. We had to transition to online learning due to COVID-19, but he really did his best to make the experience easy for his students. This class wasn't hard in my opinion. Before the pandemic we had to take exams, but he got rid of those. Either way, his study guides and the review days were beneficial. Take him!

Professor Dunn is the BEST professor at Cerritos! Ive taken his class in person, and now online. He made online learning SO interesting. I wish all professors were as caring and as awesome as him. His lectures are clear, detailed, and he relates the topics to real life situations.

Professor Dunn is a cool , there was homework twice a week (quizzes twice a week) about 3 papers (2 pages at least double spaced), and other than that everything was pretty much explained through the lectures which weren't superrrrr long but you have to read a good amount. Nothing too demanding. He also shares pics of his little son, he's adorbs!!

Took his First 9 Week course and it was amazing, His class is so easy that I want to take him for another class. His discussions and quizzes are easy as long we read the lectures. it is also open book. The Papers are easy to do and he shares Photos of his kid. He is a professor that is a legend. I recommend him to anyone.

SUPER COOL DUDE. Professor Dunn's classes are super chill and a little lecture-heavy but nothing unbearable. I am actually taking him for another remote class this semester because he is that cool. His assignments seem like a lot at first but you get used to it very quickly and you will pretty much pass in my opinion. Love his class.

Awesome teacher! His grading criteria and lectures are so clear that you really won't even need to reach out to him for anything. However, he's still accessible. The lectures were so interesting and you can tell he really loves sociology. The quizzes and discussion boards aligned exactly with the lecture, no trick questions.

Any special ed peeps like me definitely recommend this professor he's super laidback and easy. His lesson is through lecture slides that aren't that long just read them and you will pass. You will have to do 3 essays but don't worry if you're like me and writing isn't your strong suit he does not grade harshly. If I can pass this class so can you.

His class is so simple. This isn't a class where you will feel stressed out. Everything that he talks about in the lecture will be on the quiz. We have 2 Discussion/2 Quizzes a week available for 3 day. M-W, W-F. We had 3 papers but they're not hard. I recommend him for any class. I took him for SOC 110 and it was great.

Professor Dunn is the reason why I changed my major to sociology. I took Marriage and the Family as a filler class and I was not disappointed. He provides clear instructions and does not pile on unnecessary assignments. He is a great individual that will make you want to go to class. Laugh at his jokes, he's really trying!

Lectures are simple and palatable in learning new subjects. The tests and final are the same as the study guides given. Professor is patient and encourages learning/questions. The written papers, however, do involve concepts from whatever book he chooses so pay attention on what notes he makes and use it in your paper.

Every easy, his modules consist of quizzes and discussion boards. The quizzes are easy and it is open book.

Professors only gives out 3 essays for the whole semester. Gives 2 quizzes and discussions (2 modules) per week based on his lecture. You can even use your notes for the quiz. He gives great feedback and is so caring.

Very detailed lectures, I learned so much. He posts his powerpoints on canvas. 3 papers, 4 exams, all easy. If you read the powerpoints you'll pass. Easy grader on essays too. He does ask you to buy a book as it will be used as prompt for some of the papers but honestly he uses ideas from the book and you can get by with it. Never read and got an A

One of the best online classes ever. His lectures are well written out, easy to follow and to understand. Read the lecture and you will pass the quizzes since they are based on the lecture. The essay/papers are easy as well. Overall the class and subject is the best, wish I had the opportunity to meet him and sit in person for his lectures.

I took this class in 1st sem and it was 15 weeks. His class is very easy. You just have to read and watch his lecture. He lets you use your notes on quizzes which lets you have 2 attempts :)). I would definitely recommend this class!

Professor Dunn is one of the amazing Professor I have taken in Cerritos College. He has a different grading criteria that would give student a lager percentage to pass than fail. He gives a review before exams, and has 3 Paper works for the whole semester. You will not regret taking his class! Thank you professor for a wonderful semester!

I loved his class and I cannot stress that enough. He is a well respected professor by me. Throughout his course you will write 3 papers and have four exams. The papers and exams are based all on lecture but he provides a study guide. His lectures are on slides which is also accessible through canvas. I recommend highly that you take his class.

This is the second time I have taken a class from Professor Dunn.The first one was in person and the second one was online. Both courses were excellent.Currently, I am taking his SOC110 online, and the lectures are pretty easy to read as he summarizes all the key points and important detail from the lectures and is not too condensed.Take his class!

Amazing professor! Easy to read and interesting lectures that you could really learn from. He structures out what he wants without any confusion and answers emails quickly. There were only 3 papers this semester and all were very engaging. I definitely suggest taking this course especially if you need the credits!

Dr.Dunn is an AMAZING professor! I took soc 101 and 110 with him and they were great! He would let us out early most days and only had 4 exams (no final) and 3 papers for each class with a chance to write a paper for extra credit as well. He is very funny and makes lectures interesting no matter the topic. Would 100% take a class from him again!

The rest of the ratings sum him up pretty well. Only thing I have to say is that he is obviously very interested and motivated by what he teaches, so it's interesting to learn. Nice teacher and the lectures are easy to understand because of his passion for the topic.

There is a lot of reading to do in this class with the book and lectures. If you don't read the book, you will not get a good grade on the papers.

Great class and great professor. Was an 8 week class, but the workload was still a good amount. Assignments are clear and easy to understand. Lectures are interesting and there is an extra credit paper opportunity as well. Just do the work and you will get an A. Highly recommend this teacher and class.

Prof. Dunn makes learning sociology fun and interesting. He always reviews all the correct answers to his exams, and even tells you what to write for the short answer questions so that you get full points. There were three papers assigned, but if we did well on all exams & did the extra credit paper, we didn't even have to turn in the final paper!

This class was great! The material was interesting and was up to date. I took this class online and Professor Dunn would post reminders about the modules and their due dates. This class is an easy A if you complete your assignments and read the book!

I took both SOC 101 and SOC 110 with this professor and he was just amazing in both classes. The lectures were very interesting and informative, he assigns 3 papers and 2 quizzes and 2 discussions per week (unless there's a paper due that week then only 1 of each). Generous grading system and overall easy class.

Easy A (spring semester) he usually bolds the answers in the reading for the quizzes! Only has 3 papers the entire semester. 2 quizzes & 2 discussion posts per week. Usually, due Wednesdays and Fridays. I purchased the book for $15 on Amazon but you can find it online for free. The book he uses is called "Everything is Obvious" by Duncan J. Watts.

Professor Dunn is an amazing professor with clear grading criteria. There are 4 exams and 3 papers. The exams are very easy, he gives you a study guide with the answers written all over it. As long as you do the SG, you'll be fine. He offers a ton of EC. Class is very easy to pass. He's also extremely understanding.

May seem like you have little space to recover but pay attention to your study guide and his extra credit he offers.

Professor Matthew Dunn is the best professor that I ever had and I taken him in sociology 110 and now I am taking him for sociology 210 he remembers me. He is gives us easy assignments such as reading memo, watching film, reflection papers and discussion, lectures outline for extra. I wish I could take him with another sociology class with him.
