He's a nice guy; funny,****y, and cute in that 'old guy who smokes a pipe and thinks young' kinda way- You won't be bored often. The only issue is that he veers of topic really often, cause subject matter is so interesting, so you do lotsa self-teaching.

very "wind blown" and scatterbrained. The class is NEVER boring, and he really tries to make things interesting. His text book is confusing, but once you get past, the book and the "hungarian questions", (he'll make you and honorary hungarian too!) you'll actually like it.

Grow up, everybody! And may be you will learn something! His book is fine, unless you were educated in Brooklyn's public schools, then you would have to use a dictionary!

Intresting Class, Professor is a MAJOR SCATTERBRAIN!! jumps from topic to topic and obsesses over Yawning and Cellphones. Uses every min of class but all in all FUN FUN FUN just do the readings and take NOTES! Test are pretty challenging but he takes the best out of the 2 that he gives.

He is a nice guy. He is sometimes confusing, but he tries to help you to understand. His test are ok. I hate the way he wrote his book. If you do the reading, you will have a very good chance of getting an A or B. Take the class

OMG..he is so funny..he is such a great guy at heart..even though he does sway off topic a few times he is great i got an A because he liked me and because i did the reading..for our first exam he gave everyone an A because he's jus kooool loke that..lol...take him!

He's Okay! Tests can be a little tricky, but he gives review sheet before test and repeats some of the questions. Has an interesting way of giving over the material, and does tend to go off on tangents, but you will learn alot. Good Luck!

I think he is great. You might not think that you learn much because he is always behind, but this is because he tries to explain things in detail. His exams are easy and short. He even gives you a review sheet which is repeted on the test. Since he has a sense of humor you won't be bored. An easy A

Cool teacher!!! good at heart teaches well, easy A. He even gave the whole class a 90 on an exam, that he never gave us!!! His class boosted my G.P.A!! If you want a G.P.A. boost, take him its worth every minute.

ok, he's a bit disorganized and violated the maxim of quantity,& revelance. it takes him 1-2weeks to cover certain chps. He wants everyone to understand the course material so he'll go over and over... its an easy read (his book) and the class itself is very doable.

He's great. He's really disorganized, but he's thorough. He's very funny and interesting. His accent is adorable. His classes are easy to pass as long as you attend them. The test questions come straight from the lecture. He has a review that is pretty much the same as the test.

He is very easy(lowest grade is dropped) and attendance is not required, but he is weird (going around with pipe and do not let you leave the room during the class). Overall, take him if you want to get an easy A

Very wierd guy. However, his test are extermely easy because he gives a quiz before the test and have the questions on the test are from the quiz. Very easy class.

He's a gr8 guy, but a trifle disorganized, to say the least, but in a good way. He's very helpful; if u have a question, just go 2 his office & he'll help u. A little bit crude; some ppl in my class didn't like that. He goes off on a tangent every class; the challenge is 4 him staying on topic. Easy tests, though. Also "Biology b4 psycology"!

tends to pick on those who don't seem to be paying attention. besides that, he is a very nice and intelligent professor. ALWAYS study/know the answers from the quiz he gives out before tests because most of the questions are likely to be on the test! his textbook is well organized.. definitely know material from the text for exams =]

Go to class, pay attention, take notes, and you will do fine. Do the reading-- skim it at the very least. There are some surprisingly nitpicky questions on the test but they are set up so that you can miss two questions and still get 100. If you are the type to skip or sleep through class then you will have a hard time.

Prof. Erdelyi is one of the best teachers I ever had. He's so knowledgeable about his subject, and his passion for psychology is infectious. Before I took his class, I thought it was going to be boring. But now I'm thinking of changing my major. Awesome.

I looked at some of the ratings on this Website before I took this class. When I saw that the only section I could take was Prof Erdelyi's I was really concerned. What are these people talking about?!?!? Prof Erdelyi is fantastic. If you want to take a class with someone who really cares and KNOWS about his field, take his!!!

Dr. Erdeliy is a very good teacher. He uses a LOT of examples to help you understand fascinating ideas in psychology, and most of them are eye-opening. His tests are very fair, and he drops the lowest grade. Just pay attention in class, take advantage of his willingness to answer questions, visit during office hours if necessary(!).

Mesmerizing (sp?). Prof. E. uses anecdotes to illustrate the psychology of the human mind. Fascinating. I took this as a requirement, but if I knew what I do now, I would of taken it any way. Just pay attention. Read the text. Study. Go to office hours if you need extra help. He's great.

Dr. E. is a great teacher. SOmetimes he gets caught up in the material he's teaching but its obvious that its because he's so into it. He's really smart and he loves his subject. How much more can someone want from a prof?

Erdelyi is very interesting to say the least. He teaches you so much about psychology, yet at the same time he teaches you so little about psychology. His class is a bit frustrating but you will learn alot. Study the book well and take very good notes and you may enjoy the class a bit. Drops lowest test ( Gives you 3). Curves alot.

Prof. Erdelyi is great. He is a very fair grader, and very helpful to his students. His class can sometimes be confusing, but then -- it's human psychology, isn't it? ;-) Advice: ask questions. It's a complex field and he knows his stuff.

Prof. erdelyi is the tops. When he told interesting stories about human behavior, I sometimes shared them with my friends who were taking other classes. They told me that their profs didn't make the subject as alive as he did. So I consider myself very lucky.

I miss this Prof. E so much! It was a lot of fun being in this non ordinary professor's class.

A decent professor but in my opinion he has to sort of reexamine his views on psychology, far too deterministic even to being a detriment of his view of people, sort of judgmental and brash and labels frequently. Very smart and enthusiastic, the other students in the class were very disrespectful. He puts too much emphasis on the genetic component.

Very hard to understand, gets off topic a lot. He writes his own textbook, so if you really study it you'll do well.

Easiest class ever. He often goes off topic, but each of his rants can be tied to certain things you need to know, which makes it easier to remember for the exam. Most of the exam is everything he teaches in class.

Prof. Erdelyi is a very nice, helpful, and smart man. He is the best professor in the department of psychology. He is open to student’s thoughts and opinions. I took his personality a year ago, and, now, I am taking his psychoanalysis. If you really love psychology, you definitely should take his course.

The tests aren’t easy because you have to read lot of materials (his book and four Freud’s books), but this is an advanced course, you should expect materials will be harder. His book is very well written. He analyses and explains Freud’s theories well and fully in his book, which make me easier to follow and understand the Freud’s books.

Prof Erdelyi explains everything well in class. He has good sense of humor, which make the materials alive. He told us what he expected for answering the essay. There are two tests and a final. He is helpful. If you don’t understand anything, ask him after class! He will explain it to you patiently. I got A in both personality and psychoanalysis.

Very knowledgeable and kind professor. Tries his best to make sure the entire class gets an A. Attendance is not mandatory, but you should try to make it to every class to get a good grade. The material was interesting, although his textbook is nontraditional and hard to follow. Would recommend.

I LOVED Professor Erdelyi! yes he goes on tangents, yes he rambles, but HE LOVES and knows PSYCHOLOGY! he is very intelligent and caring about his students. Def take him.

Honestly the best and the easiest prof. Don't know why so many people complain so much. Just pay attention to his lecture even if he gets off track. He combines psychology in his story telling. So you really understand the concept. I learned a great deal of knowledge from this class.

He's a very nice and lenient Professor. He does tend to go off topic during lectures. Unfortunately we didn't get to finish all the chapts and topics during my Fall 14' semester. Honestly I just think he's getting old but he's not a BAD Professor. Although he only took attendance SOMEtimes it's best to show up to know what will be on tests. No Hw.
