avoid this guy as much as possible!!!
He'll try to scare you the first day, but after that he's a great teacher.
If you attend class you shouldn't have trouble, helpful key: study the book also.
Not very interesting. Tests are hard and that is all that grades are based upon. However, he does curve which if helpful. Not a fan of his class.
This class was a joke; and for those of you who don't think so, I am embarrased to be considered a colleague of yours. His lectures are clear, just make sure to read the book as well as review class notes.
I took this first semester of my freshman year, I am now a sophomore and he has been my worst teach so far.
This is a beginning course taught at a higher level. He is a very smart individual, but needs to tone it down for those that are taking this class to get an overview of Psychology. Beware, and be ready to work for that "B".
Hard course, but worth it. Lectures are clear and he will use many examples to help you understand. Be prepared to attend class and read the book.
He is nice and will help you if you need it. The tests are hard. Hint: Go see him before you have trouble.
This class is hard. I have friends in other sections and I think Dr. Fanetti is tougher. But I think I learned more. I worked hard for my B, but I am glad I took the class.
I don't get the other ratings. It wasn't that hard. He was pretty clear. Tests are fiar.
Very closeminded. He has very strong opinions and pushes them on his class. He teaches many things as a fact that are actually his opinion. Overall the class information is clear, his tests require more studing than most classes.
His class was sorta boring and the tests were hard but he is willing to help if you ask for it. Reading the book helps.
Very interesting class and he is a very entertaining instructor. If you know the material, tests are simple. I've aced the first 2, and finished less than 30 min. Go to class! He's been known to offer extra-credit opportunities on days of low attendence.
Starts out cool....but soon turns to boredom!
His class was entertaining, but none of the material covered in class was on the test, it was all from the book. Also, there were only three tests in the class, so if you did poorly on one, you were pretty much screwed unless you ace the rest.
I loved Dr. Fanetti! He's great! I took the psychology of childhood class and he was fantastic!
I didnt like him at all! He didnt follow the book well. He is very boring, and when you try to look in the book of what he lectured on, it wasnt in there. PLEASE DONT TAKE HIM!!!
The class is easy if you pay attention, take notes, and study for the tests. Of course you have to read the book. That's what college is. I highly recommend Dr. Fanetti.
Fanetti has a good sense of humor. He gives good examples in class that help to understand. Yes, tests are hard. It is college! I LEARNED A LOT!
he is humorous, but nothing that he talks about in class is on the tests. He does grade on a curve which can be helpful, but it hasnt really helped me out any. Three tests and three pop quizzes, those are your only grades. If you are looking for an easy class... this one isnt it !
I think he is funny and the class is never boring. If you think that the class is supposed to be an easy A why are you in college. I think that the fact that he actually makes you find things out on your own is what college was what I expected when coming
AWFUL TEACHER! He doesn't talk about anything in lecture that is on the tests! I can't stand sitting in class listening to him talk about graduate school, it's horrible!!! DON'T TAKE FANETTI PLEEEEAASE!!!
Dr. Fanetti is a very funny guy. I find his lectures interesting, but not all that helpful when it comes to his tests. The tests are hard, but that is what is to be expected at a college level. I wouldnt not reccomend him, but if you are looking for an easy A I wouldnt suggest taking his class.
It was a hard class. Take good notes! dont just copy down what is on powerpoint! He gives great examples that really help you understand what hes talking about(write them down!). Tests and quizzes are hard but you can do well if you study.Grades on a curve! Notetaking is the thing to do!recommended!

His lectures are wesome and he always gives numerous examples to help clarify. So take good notes and you will do great!! This is the best psychology class I have ever had in my three and half years.
He is a really good teacher. His class is the most difficult section, but you learn the most. Take it if you are interested in psychology--he won't just hand you an A, you have to work for it. He is helpful, though, and VERY funny. Make me want to be a psych major!
Dr. Fanetti is a fabulous professor. He has a wonderful ability to keep the class laughing and learning at the same time. I always looked forward to his classes. If you take PSY 121, I recommend him fully.
He is an AWESOME teacher! He's funny and keeps class interested. Notes are on Powerpoint, tests are from notes. So you must go to class everyday! He explains things in great detail and provides good examples and does not move on until he is convinced that everyone knows the information. Tests are all essay so you really need to study. Take him!
confusing class..he uses a ton of metaphores so you never really know if he talking about a refigrator or the brain. i think he tries though. hard class...funny professor
He tries too hard to fit in with the students. Very inappropriate at times. Too many stories about everything - personal life, school etc..lectures are long, but not a lot of material covered.
The review on 5/24 is wrong, his tests aren't all essay, in Psy 121 they are all multiple choice. From what I have heard from other intro to psych sections, his is probably one of the harder ones. They have more opportunities for points like with papers and out of class assignments...he just has tests & quizzes so if you screw one up you're screwed
Dr. Fanetti is a really good teacher. He tries to keep the class laughing and learning at the same time. No HOMEWORK!!! But your grade is just 3 tests, 3 quizzes, and a final. Overall it is a good class.
Wasn't even interested in psychology whatsoever, but it will likely be my minor now! Great, good-natured guy, keeps us laughing and interested in lecture. He is full of stories and/or analagies that truly make you understand the material.
I dont know what all you people are talking about, this guy is crazy. He never gives a study guide and you never see your quizzes or tests so you dont ever know what you got wrong. The last week of classes you have a quiz, a test, and then the final all in a row. He is rude and very hard. I liked psychology until now, everyone in our class hated him
I agree this guys is horrible, He rambles on for the whole entire class, his jokes are not that funny and he doesn't help you at all. He kind of reminds me a mobster who really sucked at being a mobster. LIke the family buisness for his family is a mob but he went the other way and became a PSY teacher.
I know some people hate him, because they did not do well in his class. That is their fault. Tests and quizzes were available to view if you actually went to his office to see them. I did. He went through every question I asked about and told me why the correct answer was correct. His examples are clear. Best professor I've had.
Dr. faneeti was great. He was helpful and made all the material clear. His tests were hard, but that was just because there was lots of material to cover in one semester. I want to be a psych major now. He's cute too - in a Goomba sort of way.
definitely a good class to take... he explains everything very well and uses many good examples... presents the material very well... dont even have to opne the book... everything comes rite from the notes he gives u... just know ur notes and youll get a good grade
Uses good real life examples that relate to study material. Don't buy books cause he won't use them.
Dr. Fanetti was one of the hardest teacher si have had so far. The tests were extremely hard and the whole class was lost most of the time. He goes on tangents and can't focus for longer than 15 minutes.
If you are a female...get out of this class ASAP. He is the biggest **** and has a serious issue with bringing his sexual life and problems into class... I do no know one female in my class of 193 that would feel comfortable speaking to him one on one. Not to mention he is a complete ass. I got an A in his class, so I am not bias. Good luck.
Fanetti can be a bit of a dork and a ****ed at times, but he is actually a really good teacher. I liked his class even though it wasn't the easiest. HINT: He gives quizzes the day before the test, and almost all of the questions from the quiz are on the test the next day. Overally he was a good teacher.
very clear
Kind of boring and gives hard tests.
I took this class in the summer and thought it was a breeze. He brought a lot of relevant outside info into the class. I don't think I actually liked him, his opinions about life were so...ick, but I still loved the class.
he was a really good teacher. prepares you good for quizes and tests. they are all in the notes. if u know the notes you will do good. and hes really funny!
He makes a gen ed class seem like the most important class you will ever take! AVOID HIM!!!! His lectures are interesting and sometimes even funny, but they are pointless! Hardest tests i've ever taken!
Fairly good teacher
Good guy but his class is VERY challenging. Can be funny at times, but serious when it comes to notes. His quizes and tests are hard. He always gives a pop quiz the day before any test. Even during finals, he will give a pop quiz, a test, then the final.
Easy class. Great teacher. Funny and entertaining.
Ive taken him for hist/sys and forensic and loved it both times. I see lots of 101 reviews which makes me think he must be much better in upper level courses. His is straight-forward and asks test questions right out of the book. He wont try to trick you or confuse you. Hes very knowledgeable on the subjects and wants you to learn. He's good!
he was a decent teacher, pretty funny/entertaining, tests are exactly from the notes, study guides follow the test exactly, i got A's on almost all of the tests, if you go to class or get the notes you should get an A
Look, none of the professors like to teach 121, and so you will not get an accurate idea of them as a teacher just by taking 121. Fanetti is awesome, I don't know what all these people are talking about him being an ass. He is an awesome prof, and really funny. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!
Really Enjoy this class. Probably my most interesting class this semester.
I hated Fanetti. He was a pretty entertaining teacher, but didn't make things clear. He got off subject really easy and it made it hard to concentrate what we were supposed to be learning.
Fanetti is a great guy. It's hard to pay attention in his class for 2 hours!! His tests are about average... Easy C, study for a B and Study hard for an A
I can't understand why people don't get good grades in Psych. People in this class get 30% on tests? Fanetti is a man I've come to greatly respect. He knows what he's talking about. GO TO CLASS, print off the powerpoint, and take notes on it when he talks about the slides. When test time comes, read them a few times and get an A. It's THAT simple.
Print off the study guide, take it to class, pay attention and add notes that he explains as he goes through the slides. Entertaining teaching style and makes it easy to relate the material. Theres a quiz the day before a test. Curves the final letter grade. Dont have to go to every class but it'll help as he adds to the study guides via powerpoint
He has a good sense of humor and the tests are fair
Fanetti is a GREAT psych teacher! His tests are right from the notes. You really don't even need the book...it just helps to clarify the notes. After speaking with friends that have different teachers, we came to the conclusion that Fanetti was the easiest! He's also funny and helps make the extra long class time seem not so bad. TAKE HIM.
Excellent prof. I really enjoyed his class, just show up and skim the notes before the quiz or test and you get an A. Never used the book once though, very fun guy.
VERY hard! i study for every test for hours and still get a C! and i took psych in high school! i have never gotten a C before so this class is really tough for me... everyone who sits around me has a C or D so i have no idea who gets As... but he is actually really nice and funny
Great professor! He's a pretty funny guy and he really got me interested in the topic. I would recommend him.
I LOVED him! Its really obvious that hes into what hes teaching and that he knows what hes talking about. I think he knows a lot of people only take psych 121 bc they have to for their majors so he tries to make it as painless as possible and he cracks jokes and likes to play around with the class. just study the powerpoints and its an easy B.
This is one of the better Psych teachers on this campus. You only have three test and three quizes, (other than the final) and all of them are pretty simple if you go over the review that he sends out a bunch. Not too bad of a teacher.
He is a laid back teacher and tries to make things more interesting by making jokes and telling stories. Attendance is not an issue, I skipped most of the semester and still made a B in the class. The quizzes and tests are straight off of the powerpoints, so just study that. The book wasn't even cracked open, so I wouldn't even buy one.
He's a fun guy to take class from. Attendence isn't really necessary - he sends you slides and study questions. Studying for tests is quite important though, stuff isn't word for word. Take him if you have the chance!
He's an awesome teacher and really knows his stuff. His lectures are interesting, he's laid back, and he really knows what he's talking about. I never opened my book all semester, he sends you the notes. You do have to study for the quizzes and tests but they aren't super hard.
He's definitely an interesting guy.. It was a really easy class. Everything is all in the powerpoints he sends you, but extra side notes are often required so you need to go to class. The book is unnecessary. You're gonna hear a lot about his wife ("She's Bulgarian"-always says this) and his life. Decent class though.
He seems like a very nice guy. His test tricked me up a few times though, they aren't word for word but if you study you should be fine. I'm sure he is one of the more interesting psych teachers, tells lots of jokes and stories, but if your wanting the easiest class i wouldn't recommend him. but for fun I would :)
I am sorry for those who have no sense of humor. Or intelligence for that matter. A. If people think it's a boring class grow up and get some humor. he talked about alot of things ppl are interested in. also he was very clear and funny. I would take him again
I never went to this class...as long as you follow the powerpoints it is pretty straight forward. Tests are all case studies, so you have to know your stuff but it isnt that bad. He does JUST KEEP TALKING though...I fell asleep alot.
He's very good at explaining the material. His lectures are very interesting and he enjoys answering questions in class. I've learned a lot from this class. He gives quizzes one class period then the exam the very next period, without distributing the quizzes beforehand. So if anything tripped you up on the quiz, make sure to study it well.
The class is relatively easy. He uses really good analogies to help you understand the material, he's kinda dorky but funny, and you don't use a book. It's mostly just memorization of the material and you'll do well on the tests.
I didn't like Fanetti at first, but I just didn't really get him I guess. He's really funny, and tries to make the class interesting so you actually learn. This is my second time taking 121 and it was so much better this time around. Take him if you can. His dorkiness is grating at first but he'll warm your heart over the semester. :)
Fanetti is a corky professor who tries to make the course as fun as possible. At first I wasn't too fond of him because he gives quizzes the class before a test, but in the long run, it's actually really helpful when the test date comes. He is a very sweet professor and I learned to really enjoy him. DONT BUY THE BOOk, he teaches off power points.
attendance isn't mandatory which is nice, but it hurts your grade a lot if you don't study. he is a nice guy and i like him a lot, but his style of teaching doesn't work for me. he uses really long drawn out examples that make you forget what the point was. don't buy the book. you have to participate in research things but they're very easy points.
Lectures were hard to pay attention to, but he tries to make it interesting. Rarely went to class, and made 100s on quizzes and As on tests. Sends out helpful study guides, responds to emails, good teacher.
Great teacher. Tests are pretty easy and straight forward. He wrote the text book but he emails it to you so you don't have to buy it. Really interesting class, but it feels more like an overview of theories and disorders I have already learned about than a Forensic Psych class.
Fanetti is a fun professor. He does tend to go off topic at times but he gives really great examples for everything and he doesn't just read off his power point slides. He tests fair and he likes essay questions(usually 70% of the test)but he only asks questions on material that is covered in class. I would definitely take a course of his again.
