I thought he taught this class very well. He's really laid back and his tests aren't really all that hard, mostly multiple choice and matching. I liked him.

He was a good teacher. He made his first test the hardest and they got easier. You will have to study unless you are familiar with our government. He is tough somewhat I got a B which I only studied a day or two before the test, took notes in the class, and NEVER read the book! SO not to bad! :-)

Don't pay attention to the comment above. This class was very fun, very easy. His tests were based on his lectures only. I never opened the book. All that is needed to pass his class with an A is to go to class and take notes; if that is done an A is garanteed. He explains the material very well. He makes the class be very pleasant. Easy class.

Oh my gosh! He was so boring, I couldn't even stay awake if i went to class. The only thing he grades are the tests, so they better be good! I would NOT recommend this teacher! Very, very, very boring!!

I took Research Methods with Pr.Gunning. He is simply the best. He is young and very motivated teacher. It was fun to learn. He tries to find something that might interest him and then bring in to us. He made the most boring course I guess, my favorite class during the semester. He is very very helpful, but it doesn't mean you don't have to study.

Prof. Gunning taught US Congress, and it was a fairly easy class, but it is one you need to attend. Most of his test questions come straight from his lecture. Class sometimes is long and boring because he doesn't really get the students involved. But he is very willing to help if you have questions.

IF you go to class then dont leave...it makes him mad if you show up for half the class and leave. He posts notes online and posts them on WebCT but our class made him mad so he might stop that. Review sheets is EVERYTHING thats on the test. I only used the book to further understand some things on the review sheet. Very Helpful if you ask for it

Not a bad teacher, but the subject is boring. Lectures all day everyday. Post the notes online, unless attendance dwindles, also with a review for test. Tests are very straight foward, no tricks. He talks a lot about his work in D.C. You can get an 'A' with mimimal effort on your part.

This man is sooo sweet!!! He really knows what he's talks about, and you'll hear several stories realted to his experience on Capital Hill. Tests are multiple choice, t/f, and matching. Straight lecture, study guides, very helpful

I loved Mr. Gunning! This was a great class and so EASY! Only 3 test, straight forward, gives great notes and a study guide with everything that will be on the test! He is also very fair when talking about different political parties.

This class is just basic infortmation. He is very easy to understand and gives good power points. If you fail, you obviously never went to school in the first place.

Very easy. If you can't manage an A in this class, you may want to reconsider your postsecondary education. Three exams, all directly from the study guide and lecture notes. Two writing assignments which are a breeze. Great sense of political humor.

Easy class. Very boring but an easy A. Very few assignments and quizzes, only 3 exams. I didn't attend class that often and still did well in it. Very basic.

I totally loved this professor! His class was relatively easy, just take the notes and follow the study guides that is given and you are sure to get an "A" He likes to talk about his experiences on Capital Hill, but they are interesting. He's understand but straight forward only downfall is he takes awhile to get grades back to the students

Easy A if you copy all the notes and take time to do/study the review sheets he posts on WebCT b4 tests. He takes attendance - part of your grade. Notes are long so it's better if you have a laptop and if you type fast. Really nice. It may be a boring subject but he makes it interesting with his real-life stories. TAKE HIM FOR AN 'A' IN POLS 1101!

Pretty easy class. Didn't open the book once and still managed to get a B. There are lots of notes and he hardly ever lets you out of class early, but when it comes to the test, you have everything you need to complete the study guide he posts on webct.

Lots of notes but relatively easy class. You sign in at the beginning of class (10% of grade). 3 tests (20 Multiple choice, 20 T/F, 20 matching- each 25%), 3 writing assignments (a paper, answering Qs, watching a movie w/ notes- each 5%). I would recommend this class.

LOTS OF NOTES!! If you pay attention and study you will receive a passing grade.

LOVE HIM!3 exams (multiple choice/easy). 1 paper & he gives you everything for it. He was getting his masters during my class and cut out the 2nd paper. Lots of note taking but awesome lectures!! Attendance sheet passed around randomly. Cancelled class 2/3 times cause he was busy. Talks about events happening today not from the past. EASY

Professor Gunning is a great teacher. He is funny, easy-going, and the tests are easy if you study. There are a lot of notes but the 98% of the test comes from them.

Very easy class. I hate political science so I found it EXTREMELY boring but he is a very good teacher. Tests are really easy. They are all multiple choice/matching/True False and it all comes from notes. Attendance can affect your grade. High recommend taking Prof. Gunning!!

Excellent Professor, he is very easy going and very knowledgeable in his field. Takes attendance everyday and make sure to take notes, you will need them to study for test. I will highly recommend Prof. Gunning.

Like the teacher, he wasn't extremely hard. As long as you pay attention, and do the study guides with will get an easy b. There are only a couple assignments throughout the semester. he is very helpful if you have a question and is very understanding. you can tell he likes what he is teaching.

I'm taking him now and this is one of the easiest classes i've taken so far. Tests are incredibily easy, you dont really have to take notes he posts them on vista a few days before test. use them for study guide and your good to go! and do the extra assignments that are crazy easy. no book necessary at all

This deffinately just a lecture class, but is still enjoyable. He was funny and made the class interesting. He has alot of experience in this field and good stories to tell. I suggest bringing your laptop to the class because you will be taking ALOT of notes. The content of the class is easy, and alot of it is common sense. I would take him again.

He is nice and funny but he is not really good about returning e-mails therefore, if you need help go talk to him after class! His notes are easy and straight forward. He gives study guides for all the test, answer each question as much as possible, do not under estimate his tests they can be hard. No final just 3 tests and 3 assignments.

Professor Gunning is awesome! He's really easy and has interesting lectures. He's super laid back, and attendance is extra credit. He takes awhile to get back to emails and put out grades. Other than that, I would recommend him to anyone. It's an easy A if you go to class and take notes.

Easy A, all three tests come straight from the lecture, study guide given before tests, no final, 2 writing assignments which are just as easy as answering 10 questions then typing it up and turning it in :)

Mr. Gunning is a nice man but a little boring. He reads straight from the powerpoints. Reviews that he gives weren't very helpful for me so make sure you take good notes.

He is a decent teacher. The class seems to drag along and can be boring. Some of his stories are interesting though. Tests are really hard unless you do the study guide other than that just a decent teacher

Mr. Gunning was an amazing political science teacher. He has real world experience and I found his lectures very good. He is too lenient at times, he is very laid back and understanding. Attendance is extra credit, tests come directly from study guide and notes. Do not buy the textbook. I would recommend him highly.

Nice guy,ok lectures,Easy test ause they are just like the study guide,gives exra credit for attendance ,but it's not mandatory.I reccommend this class if you want a good grade easily.

Gunning is the man. attending class=2 pts each day. tests are just like the study guide. review day-ask questions from study guide. really easy if you know the whole study guide. easy A for a class that other professors make difficult. he's worked on capitol hill&knows his stuff. lectures are pretty amusing sometimes. down-to-earth. take him!

Gunning is the man! You get 2 pts extra credit for each class attended, 2 or 3 easy assignments, and tests come straight from the study guide. Do NOT buy the book you will never use it. Unlike many professors at KSU, he makes a boring subject interesting. He knows his stuff and is my favorite professor I've ever had here. Definitely recommend!

very inflexible if u have any circumstances & need to be late or can't make it to class don't bother 2 email him u will lose xtra 2points for each class.He doesn't put notes on GAview so if u can't type or write fast enough then u lose the notes exams are mostly mix and match so if 1 choice wrong the 2nd is wrong too no xtra point but attendance

Great guy and a hockey fan. :) He's by far my favorite professor, interesting and not just lecturing. His lessons are captivating and instructive.

Fairly easy class. Each day is notes from Powerpoint and he does not post them online so you have to type or write them down. Attendance is extra credit. He gives study guides for each test so be sure to study those well and you will do perfectly fine. He says to read the book but tests are usually only from notes or the study guide.

Very nice and laid back guy. He knows what he is talking about and enjoys it. Sometimes he cracks jokes about the stuff he is talking about, and while it is comical, he makes learning the material more interesting. As long as you do the study guides and go to class, you will do well. Highly recommend.

He is very pationate about Political Science and presents the topics in easy to understand language. I was not very interested in Political Science before taking this class but I found it to be very interesting. Attendance is extra credit. No Final Exam so be sure to do well on the 3 tests he gives. Overall good Professor.

Really enjoyed the class because he made the subject easy to understand and interesting. The daily lecture would engage many students which was cool considering it was a class of over 300. The tests were not easy but not very hard either. If you study the review sheets for a bit and go to class consistently you will get at least a B on his tests

Never used the book, so do not buy it. If you want to do good on the tests, make sure to go to class! His study guides are very helpful. His lectures are very interesting. Pretty good teacher!

Mr. Gunning is a very knowledgeable person. He knows Political Science inside and out. He's also very clear about what he says and answers all question despite a 250 person class. He also says a lot of jokes which I considered to be pretty funny. I never used the book once, don't buy it. and going to class is extra credit.

I found his lectures very entertaining and informative. His study guides are available from the get-go, so if you fail, it's your own fault. I recommend taping his lectures, as he crams a lot of information into a single class period!

Energetic and interesting lecture. Study the notes and the study guide and you will do well. 3 exams, and 3 smaller assignments/quizes and you're done. He also gives a bonus point/day for attendence. Those who know the study guide make A's, those who don't make C's and D's. Overall, a fun and relatively easy class.

One of the best professors that I have had.His lectures are actually entertaining and his tests come straight from the lectures.If you know anything at all about how our government works,you should make B's on all the tests without ever going to class but I would recommend going...he has a good sense of humor and is very helpful.

Interesting Class Learned a lot. He does use powerpoints but you can't get them once class is over you must copy them from the borad or ask someone for the notes.. Study the study guide and you should be find... Easy A if you do the work coming from someone who didn't study and have a B in the class

Don't bother buying the expensive book, we never opened it (thanks KSU, for ripping everyone off). Other than that, GREAT teacher, very clear, very helpful. Made the class interesting.

The prof is very precise and efficient in his lectures. Suggest you tape them along with writing down the powerpoints, then followup with study. You will do well. Prof is very experienced in Amer Govnmt and know what he's talking about. Attendance not mandatory, but 1-pt extra credit each time you show up. A's & B's if you study.

VERY detailed ppt lectures. book not needed. BORING guy-but knows alot about subject AND he worked for the government once. tests arent EASY but they arent HARD. GO TO CLASS and you will be fine :) i made an A

Best teacher I have ever had. I've attended schools in Maryland and Alabama and this is the best teacher by far. Great sense of humor and very helpful. Lucky to have been a part of this class.

First off, DO NOT GET THE BOOK. You don't need it unless you're trying to find answers for the study guide. He's a really nice guy and he's kind of funny. Coming to class is extra credit, and you can only gets the lecture notes if you're in class (or if someone decides to give them to you). Tests aren't hard if you study the study guide.

Pretty easy teacher and easy to understand. His class isnt hard. All you have to do is follow the study guide and pass the test. Dont really need book but its convenient. Study for the tests with the review sheet he gives you. If you do that you will be able to get an A with no problem. Attendance is extra credit, and his notes are the only thing his tests are over, so go to class!

Good Guy has a passion for the course, 3 tests and some quiz and assignment, overall easy class but you will wait 100 years to get your grade.

He is a really cool guy and keeps the classes attention so lectures aren't boring. He does take forever to grade but its a fairly easy class. Also attendance isn't mandatory but each day you go is a point that are all added in the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Gunning. I was concerned about taking Political Science because I have ZERO interest, but he actually made it very interesting and easy to understand. He's very knowledgeable about his subject matter and I appreciated his personal stories which helped make the connection.
