Great teacher will spend as much time as it takes for the class to understand the topics. Tests are open notes, book, & solution manual and exactly like the homework, which is optional. Homework counts for extra credit!

Awesome teacher. He made everything very clear, and is extremely helpful if needed. I didn't even buy the book, just used reference @ the library- just studying his notes, I got B's on the tests. He breaks things down to simple terms, and even will review important concepts from prev. classes. He really makes sure you learn it well. *****

This guy is the best! Just took him for 51 during winter. I've always failed/barely passed math in the past, but not with this Humaciu or Mr H. He teaches his student what they really need to know and what's really important for future math classes. He makes math really easy to understand. Highly recommended,I hope he's teaching 71 in the summer!!!

Had for Math 71. EXCELLENT teacher. Explains things very clearly, and is very helpful. Like most, I loathe math, and just took the class because it's required, and hoped for the best. I was pleasantly surprised with a C, which is more than I expected. He takes homework and drops lowest test scores with homework points. I highly recommend "Mr. H."

Great professor, very nice will answer any quest. about the hwk before lecturing. Hands out study sheets for the quizzes and test. Just do the homework he does deduct pts. from it if not completed! Expect to be prepared for the quiz/test & have your hwk completed every 2 weeks of the semester. Received a C. Study study study!

Great teacher! I would recommend taking him. Let's you have a full page of notes for the final! This took a lot of pressure off and time to study for other finals. Go to every lecture, do the homework, use the MARC and you'll be fine. I got an A and was one of the math anxious types.

If you absolutely HATE math than this is the professor for you. He designs the course so you will pass. Lowest test score is dropped & replaced with homework. He gives out study guides & lets you use a notecard on the test. Group assignments are easy & very doable. If you're taking STATS & have always struggled with math take Mr. H!

Took the 6 week winter class. Pretty easy class. He makes his lectures easy for students to understand, so if you understand his notes and do the homework, you should get an A no matter what. He even lets you use a notecard on the test and a page of notes for the final (front and back).

This is the best professor! He is so clear and his lectures are more than helpful. I took the six week course and it was brutal, hence the reason for my low grade of C. However, if it weren't for him, I would have FAILED miserably! Take this professor! You won't be sorry!

Literally the best professor for Math. He is very interactive in class and gives out study guides before tests. You get to have a 2 sided personal note for your final. Extremely nice with a good sense of humour. Strongly recommended!

I took the six week course. I am not a fan of math, but could always hold my own. This class was SO difficult in the time frame allotted, however, Prof Humaciu made it bearable and was VERY understanding about how difficult it is. Enjoyed him so very much. He does everything to help you pass, especially if you get completely lost like me!

Mr. H was awesome! I liked how he says "I am not a big name dropper" and he means it! No complex terminology or fancy math terms here! Just straight raw math! Nice guy, but you need to spend time with the book and homework! Don't take him if you don't have the time or energy to succeed in his class!

I think if I would have dine all my hw I could have gotten an a but I still got a B which im happy with. Also the textbook is necessary there is hw for every day although he collects it only before a test, but I wouldn't wait, I made that mistake.

One of the best math teachers I had, math is not an easy topic for me. Fyi I'm getting ready to write to the dean of the department asking them why isn't he a full time professor! He cares that you get the material. I highly recommend him.

Mr. H is amazing. Took him for Math 50 and 51A, Love him. Teaches in detail, slows down for students to understand. If a student does not understand a problem, he takes his time to make sure the student is comfortable. Gives and goes over test reviews in class. I hope to have him in my future math classes. Alright Alright Alright Friends listen Up! Humanciu sound like Matthew mcConaughey! his lectures are amazing and they are very detailed. he includes everything in the lesson and he does not leave anything out. is my second time doing stats and he's better than my last professor.

MR. H is an amazing professor! He wants to make sure all of his students understand the concepts. He will always help you much more than many other math professors. I highly recommend to take him. I would not be at Cal state LA if it wasn't for me understanding statistics which Mr.H helped me understand!

I was failing his class after the first two statistics tests, then told me on the last two tests if I didn't understand the question he would do a one on one with me. Really good professor and I would recommend him. He's really nice. :)

i took math 51 three times and failed all three times. took 51A two times and passed. 51B was very hard, However Professor H was there for me. He helped me out when i was struggling. His Lectures are in class are very good and writes side notes to help you remember steps on how to solve a problem. He is very GOOD and would take him again.

Professor H explains step by step on how to solve a problem. He gives out examples of what is going to be on a test. If you can take him for any math class DO IT! You will not regret taking him. Make sure if you had problems with HW ask him in class the next day because you will be lost and not have a clue of what is going on in the next section.

Mr. H is an excellent professor and kind of funny. He color codes his notes on the board and gives excellent explanations for the material. There are no tricks to his exams, follow his instructions and you'll do fine. You can tell he enjoys teaching and genuinely cares about the success of his students. I would recommend him without any hesitation.

Don't know why people say there are no good math professors at Mt. SAC, he's the BEST! The class is pretty much note taking, so you can't really miss a day. He's really helpful & clarifies everything you don't understand. Group projects are easy as heck! He even gives you the answers to some of them. He's so nice and can crack a joke here & there.

I took Stats with Mr. H over a 6 week intersession and it was extremely intensive, and, as expected, it was extremely intensive and fast-paced. 4 exams and a Final, 4 "Team Assignments," which are extremely easy, and all homework assignments were extra credit. Mr. H is pretty funny and he's a really nice man. I would happily take him again.

he lets you use a 4x6 notecard on all 4 exams and a full page cheat sheet on the final. the study guide he gives you will be on the test so include that on the note card. the questions that you see on your four exams will be seen back again since it's a cumulative final so include all four of those study guides on your notecard. Mr. H is a great Man! he's a gem and i was so grateful i had him for Stats. i learned so much from him and taught me how to be better at Stats. make sure you make use of his office hours or stay after class (which he's willing to do) if you want to learn even more or don't understand the material

If Math is not your best subject, this is the professor to take. He's clear on everything he lectures. You don't understand something he's more than happy to help you out. He wants Math to be as easy as possible to learn . Be prepared to take notes .

Mr. H is a great for so many reasons. If you struggle at math, fear not, because his lectures are very helpful and he gives out study sheets for each chapter. He is way better than the professors that I've had who are on faculty, I kid you not. He also drops the lowest test score, which is very generous. The material is tough and you will work.

Homework was due on test dates, total of 3 tests and the final. His tests were not hard at all just pay attention and do all your assignments.

He truly is an amazing professor, he has a syllabus and it has all of the tests and the material that will be covered throughout the semester. There are five tests and a final, we were able to use a cheat sheet and he gives a study guide for every test there is. He really goes into detail to make sure everyone understands what is being taught.

He is the best professor I 've ever had. He will not disappoint you. He is very detailed and people who are a visual learner, you should take his class. He thoroughly explains his work. He will review everything from square one just in case students forgot how to do the problem. AMAZING TEACHER

Some of the hw problems get confusing, but taking his class I learned to find that his test were always easier than the hard hw problems.

I'm one of those people who hate Math, and I was dreading Stats. He makes it kinda easy. He drops your lowest test scores with either you HW or group work scores, and he offered extra credit on exams. I allows notecards on the exams, and he is always available for help. If you dread math like me, take this professor, you won't regret it.

I dropped his class because I was going through a tough time with personal life, but I took him for math 50 to 71 and I received all A's. Very easy and takes the time to go through everything from scratch. I will take him again when I am ready to take math 110. HWK is easy and not a lot. Gives odd or even numbers to do. very easy class

Do not make the mistake of taking Stats with anyone else. He will get you through what is an extremely difficult course if you show up and use everything on the board as your notes. Do the homework, do the group projects, be on time for everything. Mr. H is the best choice to pass Stats 110 on the first try.

Professor Humaciu is a really good professor! He is super nice and caring. He is there to answer any questions you might have on the lectures. He is super easy to understand and I am so glad i got to take his class. Just make sure you go to class and pay attention and take the notes.

Loved having him this past semester. If you have the opportunity to take his MATH11 support class with his MATH110, do it. He teaches you what you need to know about Stats and makes all the information really clear. All the study guides clearly outlined any information on the test, which was awesome. Definitely recommend him :)!

Professor got me hooked on stats! Compared to algebra, stats was interesting and he gives you simple problems and great explanations! He wants you to pass! Allows you to use your phone to take pictures of lectures, and use your phone with wabbit emulator to use a free graphing calculator! Very kind, and tries to save you money! A+

Professor Humaciu is the best Math teacher ever! He is always prepared to help students and is so understanding . He always gives clear instruction and is willing to clarify everything. Mr. H allows students to correct mistakes on tests to help them better understand material they struggled with. I would also recommemend taking the Math 11 support.

Total points 700pts Study Guides are practically the exams and he accepts hw Late for 2 pts each. Withdrew from last math class due to exam difficulty but in this class, my current grade is an A.

I'm taking him for Spring 2020 during COVID-19. Im terrible with math, always have been. He is the best math professor I have EVER had. Lecture videos can be viewed more than once and are simple to understand. I'm taking 3 other online classes and his is my favorite with minimum homework, group activities and clear lectures. Took this class online due to COVID and it was honestly very managable. He describes everything step by step, you could pause the lectures whenever to take your notes, does give a lot of homework which is normal so don't wait until the last minute, and reviews practice test that are very similar to the real test. Definitely recomment him.

Prof Humaciu is so caring to his students. I suck at math but he made this class so easy. I took this class online and it was really straight forward. If you talk to him one on one, you can see he really wants his students to succeed with an A. Of course you need to study. His practice exams (in the notes) and actual exams are so close to identical

The best statistics professor. I wish I could take all my math classes with him. The way he teaches is so clear and straightforward. Clear grading criteria, grade is based on 4 exams and cumulative final. There are also 4 assignments worth 25 points each. Everything is manageable. Just watch the lectures and do the study guide and you can get an A.

If you dont want to be stressed all semester take him! He makes everything easy to understand. His exams are exactly the same as his review exams, except he changes the numbers. Your grade is based on 4 exams + final and 4 class assignments. He even gives you a stats calculator app so you dont have to spend money on one. Hes the best!!

I don't know what's up with the negative reviews, but I took professor H more than once, and I can say that he's the only one that simplifies math and made it interesting! I've taken him way back since algebra, and graduated because of him! In all honesty, I don't know where I would be if I didn't take him! I wish he taught higher math levels! A+++

Professor H is an excellent instructor. I've dropped Math classes so many times bcause I could never understand it. In this class I actually enjoyed learning and watching the recorded lectures. I highly recommend watching the test reviews, super helpful. I didn't really use the book, so I would say its not necessary. Easy class, if you do the work.

Prof H was great online. Outlined the entire class on the syllabus so there were no surprises. Homework was recommended but optional. Gave helpful homework and study guides almost identical to test. I've taken Mr. H for years, and he's probably one of the top professors at Mt. Sac that makes the subject more digestible. He's very kind, clear, and wants you to pass! I feel that students that bash him with negative reviews don't appreciate math instructors very much! He's great at teaching! I still have notes from his lectures when I took him!

The class was pretty easy. You can pass the online class by using the practice test he provides as its very similar to what the actual test is like.

I waited so long to get into his class. Hes always taken and after finally getting in and doing Fall 2021 with him I can see why. Hes such a good professor. Highly recommend for taking MATH110H. 4 exams, all very similar to the study guides, and your lowest one will be replaced with an 100 if you complete the 4 (very easy)class activities. He is very clear with teaching the concepts and provides notes highlighting what needs to be known. Attendance is optional and all homework is extra credit!

Took him in summer. Study guide pretty much same as exam. Encourages calculator use and shows you how to use it. He explains everything clearly and is actually kind of funny in class. Real cool guy. Really recommend easy A.

He is clear on what you will be graded on. Amazing lecture notes provided to you. Need a TI 83/84 calculator for his exams. You can borrow them from MARC. HW is extra credit. He is a solid choice and you will do amazing. Do his sample tests to study!

Professor Humaciu was very kind and had lectures and notes online if you couldn't attend his in person classes. Your grade mainly relies on the tests, but you get a notecard cheatsheet for each test. The tests are pretty easy as long as you do the the given test-preps and write your notes accordingly.

Professor H class was the only class i enjoyed my whole fall semester. His study guides are identical to the exams, if you need any help hell help you, and his teaching is so straight forward literally the best professor ive ever had!

The lectures made it easy to follow along on the provided notes and actually help understand the material. I definitely recommend his class if you haven't taken it.

Essential Notes!!! Everything you need to know is provided for exams/Final are on the notes he provides. Must watch lecture videos to fully understand material. Textbook is only used for additional practice, not necessary. Rent 12th or 13th ed, not 14th as stated in bookstore. He uses 12th (old ed) the most. Easy A if you do the work.

The professor gives his students a lot of support. He provides many ways to help. The lectures he does in person are the same as he does on his videos so if you're absent, no worries.

I took his course ONLINE during the winter term. I highly recommend Professor Humaciu because he explains the concepts in easy-to-understand videos. He encourages students to ask questions to him or each other in the posts and people have which also helped me too. I just don't recommend slacking as you're only graded on very few things.

Homework was not required, you are graded only for the tests. He gives you videos with tests reviews that are pretty much the tests that you'll be doing. As long as you watch his lectures and tests reviews you'll do great. He is willing to explain further if you go to his office hours. I would suggest you to take your own notes. His are a bit messy

I took the online asynchronous course for summer and it was very manageable. Follow the notes that he provides while watching the lectures and you are sure to pass!

By far one of the best professors i've had here at MTSAC. I took his online course for summer 2023 weeks & it consists of 4 discussions, 4 exams & 1 final. All lecture & material will be on the test but tells you exactly what is on it. If you do the work you will get the grade you want. He cares about his students, highly recommend to take him!

TAKE HIS CLASS! I took Professor Humaciu's stats class for summer and it was extremely organized and easy. Simply watch his lecture videos and take notes. His class consists of 4 quizzes, 4 assignments and a final. Basically 1 quiz every week or so, along with an easy hw assignment. Did not use the textbook once and got an A.

Boy oh boy, where do I begin? Professor Humaciu is like the superhero of the classroom! His lectures are a delightful mix of humor, insightful wisdom, and the occasional unexpected dance move. I took him for Winter intercession. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR FOR UR STATS ONLINE CLASS!! I was super scared bc im rlly bad at math. However, his class formatting made the work easy and understandable: lecture videos are 1 hour and provides step by step solutions. Take notes! Homework is also NOT mandatory. One exam and quiz every week, open note.

I am a Mt. Sac alumni, when I took Matthew Humaciu for stats in 2025, I was amazing on how supportive and open to answering questions he was. He always had open office hours and was always very encouraging. So grateful to have had the oppunity to take both his math 51 class and stats.

Prof. Humaciu's class is the best experience for a math class. His lectures are easy to follow along and he explains the concepts in simple terms. If you do all the work, you can easily get a good grade. If you do the extra credit you have an excellent chance at improving one whole grade. He's very chill but no nonsense.

I'm so grateful that I took his class he teaches really well and makes it easier to understand. There's about 5 exams if you get a good grade in the last exam he'll drop a low test exam grade and offers lots of extra credit as homework's which is optional.
