Dr. Huss is always entertaining. Makes getting up for an 830 class worth going to
I took him for Intro to Psych. He has really hard tests and expects you to know quite a bit. He is very helpful, especially if you seek extra help. I warn you though, he is VERY HARD! YOU WILL WORK! Guarenteed at least a C.
He gives you all the powerpoint notes at the beginning of the semsester. He's really cool to joke with. If you want to do good, b/c he can be tough, review your notes before class and skim your book if possible. Just keep up with the work and you'll do fine
I love Dr. Huss! He is my favorite teacher! He makes class so much fun and the whole class is constantly learning. I learned a lot in this class and had a fun time!
I've taken Psych and Law and Forensic Psych with Dr. Huss. He's hilarious and is very concerned with his students' progress. Very, very helpful. Likes to do fun projects, like a mock trial. Tough grader, but I've learned so much from his classes.
He is a really interesting professor, but his tests are very hard and sometimes random. Makes class fun, but be ready to study your ass off.
Very entertaining and knowledgeable about what he teaches
Great professor. Class is a lot of work and very intense.
He has hard tests. He's a really nice guy in class but DO THE READING and take good notes!!
great guy, he really made the class fun and kept you awake the whole time. hIs tests are hard, and he doesnt clearly specify what he wants you to know, but if you get a chance take him.hes awesome, jsut be ready to work hard
Amazing class. Dr. Huss is a very engaging professor. He REALLY knows what he's talking about. Willing to talk to students at any time. Class is a TON of work, but definitely worth it.
Don't be mislead by his kind, energetic attitude in class because his tests are impossible. If you're a great note-taker, then I'd recommend him to you because he really follows his notes for the tests. I thought he was a great teacher until the first test murdered me. If you're ready to devote a lot of time to this class, take him.
Very funny and witty professor. Loves the material and makes it interesting. Tests are a bit challenging, and the video project can be difficult. I recommend if interesting in Psychology as a whole. 4 Tests total, multiple choice and short answer!
Dr. Huss is my most favorite teacher of all time. He loves what he teaches and makes every clas fun and interactive. There is one paper that is very easy...I think everyone in my class got an A. His tests are really difficult. You must devote a lot of time to memorization. Application is the most difficult sections of the test. Take this course!
His class is by far the most interesting/entertaining class I've taken here @ creighton. The only bad thing about the class is the video project, but there are no papers. The tests are alright, no tricky questions, just study the book and the ppt notes he gives you!!
the easiest A I've ever eased through in my life.
Uses baloon animals for all his examples for some reason. Odd.
Amazing teacher!! Take him if you can! He is so entertaining and has such a passion for what he teaches. The tests aren't too bad if you just pay attention and study the book chapters and power pts. he gives you. take him! one of the best teachers i've had.
Dr. Huss is an amazing professor who is truly passionate about what he teaches. He adds humor to the class (and often on tests too!) and is just an overall down to earth guy. He has a lot of great stories and really makes this class awesome. The tests can be difficult, but just as any other class, devote time to studying and you will do fine.
Best psych teacher at Creighton but this class is pretty tough. Tests are completely over in class notes, however the questions on tests are meant to trick you. Also he grades papers very tough. Class consists of a total of 4 tests that are non-cummulative, 4 papers and a video project which does require quite a bit of time.
Tests are not too difficult if you pay attention in class and study the powerpoint slides. The video project requires some effort but is worth it, especially for the Beute's (award ceremony at the end of the semester). Definately the best psych teacher at Creighton.

You would be stupid not to take him for any psychology class. Hands down now only the best professor in the department but I think at Creighton. Some people on here complain about his tests and yes they aren't EASY but put some time into it and they are just fine. He is such a great guy and you will WANT to go to his classes.
He is hilarious and my favorite professor so ! Tests are mostly multiple choice, but study A LOT to do well on them. If you study, though, you WILL do well on them. Tests are mostly over the powerpoints and the notes you take on them. The reading reinforces the info. Read the book, take good notes, and attend class even though its not manditory.
he is by far my favorite professor. he is an amazing teacher. he really cares about his students. he will help you get the grade you deserve. his tests are hard but use the powerpoints! you will do fine as long as you put a lot of time into studying. but he makes it so interesting you will want to go to class and you will learn so much
He is very funny. He knows what he is talking about and presents it in a way that is interesting. Tests can be easy as long as you look over the powerpoints and take notes in class. They require a fair amount of studying, but it is well worth it. If you ask a question that he doesn't know the answer to, he will research it and tell you next class.
Seriously, this is the hardest intro class I've ever taken. I didn't know how to study for them but he was very helpful when I went to him. My grade improved when I figured it out. Great lecturer. THIS IS THE GUY TO TAKE!
Very funny professor. Makes class laugh at least 3 times per lecture. Tests are straight off Powerpoints. Paper isn't bad, opinionated but have to show and prove your own viewpoint. Overall great guy. Highly recommend for Intro class.
Dr. Huss is both a giver and an amazing professor and was easily my favorite professor for my 1st semester. He gave 4 tests and a 5-6 page paper. The tests are challenging but not impossible if you study, and the paper isn't too bad bc you get to correct it. He made fun of someone in the class almost every day and he's very witty. He's a great guy.
Amazing teacher. Class is always fun and interesting. Grades hard on papers and test and you will have to study. Also must keep up on the reading. Recomend if you have any interest in Pysch!
Dr. Huss is one of the Best professors at Creighton! He is very funny and cracks jokes whenever he gets a chance and he works very hard to answer everyone's questions and he is ALWAYS willing to help you out. there are 4 tests and some homework activities. His class is hard so you have to put in the work. TAKE DR. HUSS!! You will not regret it!!
Although this was one of the hardest classes I have taken, it was by far one of my favorite. Dr. Huss is a great professor who makes the content interesting and I looked forward to class (I didn't think that was possible!).Test use the "applied" approach rather than straight definitions. Study his review sheets and read the book and you're good!
Mr. Huss was by far one of my favorite teachers. Although his class was somewhat difficult, his class was my favorite. He makes learning psychology fun and he is hilarious! I have found that reading the book before each lecture helps a lot. His class is not a slack off class, as long as you pay attention you will be fine.
Huss is the man. The class takes some work but he'll do anything in his power to help you succeed. Class is always fun and entertaining. You leave loving the material. If you work hard an 'A' is definately within grasp.
His class is fun, but he makes his tests pretty difficult. Sometimes I think he makes it too fun and that ends up distracting from the material. His tests progressively get harder throughout the semester also. The first test was just easy background information and the final was over about 16 disorders along with their treatment and dx criteria
Dr. Huss was my favorite professor's last semester! He wasn't hard at all. I did the study guides and reviewed the notebook before each test and ended up with A's on them. Overall wonderful class!
Huss is hilarious, one of the best teachers i have had. You learn alot in this class but it is not an easy class. Huss really got me interested in Psych and i would have really missed out taking this with anyone else.
Huss actually enjoys intro psych unlike some of the other professors. He really makes it fun and jokes around a lot. The notes he provides in the redbook are exactly what he takes from and puts on the tests. He also gives review guides and requires attendance. There is a lot you can take from this class if you take Huss!
Very good professor. He really cares about you as a student. He will make sure you do well in the class. Four tests, a paper and 4 hw assignments. It's totally managable to get a good grade with him. Pluse he's a fun guy and will make sure you enjoy class.
Dr. Huss is incredibly engaging in class and makes the classes fly by. He is a wonderful teacher and is available whenever you need him. His class isn't to challenging and I found the subject matter very interesting. There are 4 tests and 4 homework assignments. Take his class, it's so worth it.
Dr. Huss is awesome and hilarious. His class is easy if you fill out the study guides and memorize everything on them. The assignments are easy, and you don't even need to buy the book - I never used it. Take this class.
Dr. Huss is one of the best professors I have had at CU! He is funny, and keeps class interesting. 4 assignments (10 pts each) and 3 tests and a final. Tests are relatively easy, as long as you fill out the study guide and review it. If I was a Psych major, I would do anything to get another class with Dr. Huss! TAKE DR. HUSS IF POSSIBLE!!
Hes a hilarious guy and does make class fun, but I found his tests difficult and his assignments unclear and I read all of the chapters and still I ended up getting a B+. You really have to study on your own for his class because there are only 4 assignments and 4 tests
One of the most interesting courses I've taken at Creighton. Dr. Huss dedicates a lot of his lecture to research and is very well-versed in the latest trends in forensic psychology. The main paper is tough, and he grades pretty narrowly. Be prepared to work, but also to have a lot of fun in the class.
Dr. Huss rocks, simple as that. He really knows a ton about what he teaches in this class because he is a clinical and forensic psychologist. He also has many stories because of this, and all of them are hilarious. The class is not easy though and you do have to attend, but it is worthwhile and I suggest him if you choose to take Abnormal.
Easily my favorite professor at Creighton. Great guy, really knows his stuff. I personally didn't use the book, except for the paper we had to write. Listen to him in class, he says everything you need to know. His tests are very nit-picky, though, which makes the class hard. Be prepared for a video project, too.
Don't let the funny lectures fool you his tests are no joke! Overall though he makes you want to come to class, he is very entertaining and teaches the material very well! He is a tough grader though.
Dude is hilarious, and awesome! Brace yourself for a tough class. You will need to work very, very hard for an A. Know everything for the tests.
Dr. Huss is hilarious! By far one of my favorite professors at Creighton. His tests are pretty hard but getting a B+ is totally doable. Getting an A requires a lot of effort but it's definitely possible.
It's more of a Law course than a Psych course. His tests are very difficult and case study assignments aren't graded any better. Don't get me wrong, he's a funny guy, but this course really doesn't belong in the Psych core.
Dr. Huss is the funniest man to walk the Earth. His lectures are absolutely hysterical and keeps the class entertained while teaching us the material. He is very good at preparing us for tests and giving us life lessons. The stories he tells us to coincide with the chapters make it easy to remember the material learned in class. Cujo, remember Cujo
In order to do well in this class you must read the book and listen very carefully to everything he says in class. Don't miss any lectures or skip any readings and you'll do great. He is super funny and i would definitely take him again, eyes closed!
Huss is awesome. I recommend him to anyone needing to fulfill their Intro Psych requirement. You will enjoy the class and you will learn a lot. I didn't open the book, but my final grade kind of reflects that. Easy to get a B, you work for an A, and if you pay attention you'll get a C. Love Huss, love the class. 10/10 would repeat in a heartbeat.
Dr. Huss was my favorite professor first semester. He has an amazing sense of humor. Best part is he teaches everything in class - I didn't even open the textbook and got an A (generously rounded up from 89.9) - but still need to study. He's an excellent teacher for this course. Sad my schedule doesn't have room for another one of his classes.
Huss is great. He definitely expects a lot from students, and you will absolutely have to study, but I loved his class. He makes everything fun and approachable, and he's hilarious. He explains everything in a way that's understandable, and makes the class fun. Would definitely take him again.
I don't get what the big deal is about this guy. He's not funny at all like some people say and he just goes on and on in his lectures w/o stopping. If you want an A, you have to take amazing notes every class and have to read the book chapters and do well on assignments and the tests (which are really hard). Harder than what it's supposed to be.
Pretty easy class, funny, lectures not boring but are important.
Huss is one of the best profs at Creighton. He's experienced, hilarious, and brilliant. With that said, taking him for intro psychology is not the best decision for a non psych major AND ESPECIALLY NOT IF YOU ARE PRE MED. Only a few students in the class will get As, and you'll need to attend every class + take almost PERFECT notes to get one.
Huss is hilarious and a very smart guy. However, if you don't plan on being a psych major AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS. Very lecture heavy and minimal assignments to keep your grade up. Tests are very hard and usually contain information he covers very briefly in class.
Dr. Huss was an amazing teacher! Very fun which makes going to class a little better; however, I loved psychology before this class and fell out of love with it by the end of this class. The lectures are long, notes are difficult to take in the class, and his tests are very hard. Highly recommend him for a psych major DO NOT take for intro to psych
I truly enjoy Dr. Huss and his lectures. The tests for me were difficult starting out, so I had to work to raise my grade. Study for the tests, however you won't regret taking his class.
Dr. Huss was my academic advisor. While I never had the privilege of taking one of his classes, I did attend some of his supplemental lectures and must say he is hilarious, informative, and really has a great way of connecting with the student!
Dr. Huss made class fun and enjoyable to be in. His lectures were interesting and a lot of what he talks about in class shows up on the tests. His tests can be a little challenging but definitely manageable if you pay attention in class and study!
Dr. Huss is a very passionate teacher, he cares a lot about psychology and cares a lot about his students. However, this is a very hard intro class. This class was very difficult, and goes over a lot of information. He is a great guy, but I would pass on taking this class.
Avg grade in my PSY 201 class with Dr. Huss this fall was 80%. Just sayin
Dr. Huss was an awesome professor, and I recommend him to anyone who is taking any Psych course. He is hilarious and always makes class very interesting. Although I didn't do as well as I had hoped in the class, he and his TA are open to talk to you and allow you to go over your exams, which help A TON if you need help. 10/10 professor.
Dr. (the great) Huss (AKA the giver) is a super charismatic and funny professor. He does genuinely care about each student that walks through his door. He is strict in what he expects of each student but he is extremely accommodating if you just communicate with him.
I really enjoyed Dr. Huss' pandemic class. He clearly worked with students who needed supporting and his grading was forgiving under the circumstances. He really made the material come alive with his real world examples.
Easily one of my favorite professors at Creighton. Had him for a few classes and loved them. He's super funny and wants to help you. His classes are tough, so be prepared to study hard. At the end of the semester, you know the material like the back of your hand. Amazing man.
Professor Huss was great and always kept lectures interesting with his humor. He is very knowledgable on the subject area as he is a forensic psychologist. There are no opportunities for extra credit or anything so make sure you study to do well on the tests and assignments. He puts in a quiz for each chapter, so make sure you read the book.
Goes off topic too much
Mr. Huss is a very interesting teacher, to say the least. His lectures were very interesting and his humor is great but he went off-topic a little more than he should've. His class was also super test-heavy so I felt like there weren't a lot of opportunities to improve my grade. Overall solid teacher.
Great prof and super funny. Very knowledgeable about psychology and always found answers to questions even if he didn't know off the top of his head. Tests are challenging but fair and make up a majority of your grade so be sure to study.
Huss is a great psych professor, but at first, he can take you off guard. He has a unique sense of humor and does tend to get sidetracked, but his class is always interesting. Attendance is mandatory and he has pop quizzes at the end of random class periods. Would suggest making quizlets for class for all the terms and tests will be good.
Dr. Huss is an amazing teacher who keeps the class engaged. I took this class at the end of a long day of classes and I found it easy to stay engaged with the class. He is so funny and easy to focus because his humor relates to the topics he teaches. This class is hard though.
great class, huss is very engaging. you have to read pretty often and there is a short quiz over the reading every time. Tests are pretty difficult but fair, if you do the reading and the review guide he posts you will be good. Almost all his short answer questions are taken from the review guide. Super enjoyable class, knows how to make things fun
10000000000% you should take him. Hilarious but difficult class.
Good professor but hard exams
Dr. Huss is a great guy and professor. He's happy to answer questions during and after class, and you can tell he really cares about his students' success. His lectures are fun and engaging—he includes stories of his experiences and is really funny.
Huss is a great professor and really cares about his students. Class is lecture heavy but he's very funny and engaging. Exams are challenging but fair. Graded on 4 exams and 3 assignments. Definitely take Huss for at least one class.
This might be one of the worst classes I've ever taken. The content is interesting, but the way he lectures is terrible. He is covering the content for the lectures, but the rambling is excessive. We don't need to be told extensive stories of his "guys" for every aspect of a disorder. As a senior, this is the top 3 worst professors I've ever taken.
He's funny and charismatic, however, he seems to blur the line between sarcastic and condescending/narcissistic. The course is very difficult. Class is graded on very few things, so if your grade is dropping, it can be very difficult to get it back up.
Lectures are extremely funny and entertaining. Almost all of your grade is based off tests, and they can be very difficult. Was my favorite class to go to each day.
Fantastic class this semester. Loved his real life examples for the different disorders. Wanted to be there every day. Fav prof at Creighton by far.
