He makes the class very interesting! Mostly lectures with powerpoints, but they're interesting and he also shows video. You have to do a lot of vocab but you can use the internet. If you study the notes and read the sources you can do well on the tests. Also do the practice quizzes online, he takes a lot of quiz questions from there!

This man is a trip! He was so funny and me want to learn about history. The quizzes were not easy even though he pulls the exact same questions off of the book website. If you want to laugh and get credits at the same time, take him!

Loved the teacher! Really good, funny, easy, held my interest. History has never really been my subject, but this class wasn't bad at all! Take online quizzes and you are good to go! Also, gave out more extra credit than I knew what to do with! It definitely is a boost to your grade! Take him and you won't regret it!

Very helpful professor. Really was passionate about the material and always made us laugh. He speaks the truth on all issues for the time period in history. Never once did I think he purely voiced his own opinion. I Had a great semester.

I recommend this professor to EVERYONE who can get him! His lectures are informative and interesting and he posts all the notes online. On top of being a funny guy and a good professor, he also gives you everything you need to ace the tests an quizzes. Take some time to study that material and you will earn an A. Great Professor although some of the topics are pretty boring. Look over the practice exams he has online before the test, and you will get an A.

Very entertaining and funny guy. Basically he presents powerpoints everyday and if you take notes and read the chapters you should do well on his tests. He even gives tips on how to pass his tests which he believes to be easy yet they're of moderate difficulty. If you take the online practice tests and do the vocab (only hw) you'll do fine.

This guy has to be one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. His philosophical approach is what entertains me the most, you learn to look at history with a different perspective. Great teacher overall.

I definitely recommend everyone to take this class with this professor! You learn so much! The tests are so easy if you just do the practice tests online (he takes the exacts questions from it and puts them on the test) I'm telling you if you take him there should be no reason for you not to get an A. He does take attendance sometimes. Take him!

Unbelievably easy. Takes attendance 10 times a semester for 10 points in the class. I barely ever went, except for test days and when the midterm was due. Test questions are pulled verbatim from an online quiz. Couldn't recommend a professor more.

He is easy but very sarcastic. Allows you to exempt the final with a 95 or above, which is possible. You have five test, midterm, and final. The test are majority the ID questions from the book website- study those!I didnt have a book, but you do need the book for your essay midterm. Attendance is 10% of grade and he takes it randomly.

Class is not difficult, simply study what he tells you to study and you should be able to ace the quizzes. The midterm is difficult, but it's a midterm. Can exempt final with a 95 or better, and with all the extra credit he offers this isn't hard to do.

He's really great. The class is easy but not too easy. All of the test questions are online and if you make above a 95 you can exempt the final. He gives extra credit and you only use the book for the sources sometimes. He loves China, likes when people when tell him he looks like Thor, and quotes Dazed and Confused everyday. Take him!!!

Very straightforward about what is on tests. Midterm was somewhat annoying because it was written and complex. Prof Hutch is funny and entertaining, should earn an A with medium effort.

One of the best professors I have ever had. You can't really get bored in his class, he's just too funny. He teaches history with an objective view. 7 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final. If you pay attention in class and look at the online study guide, you'll be fine. He's also very helpful and nice. Oh and he loves China! Jk, idk why people say that.

There is nothing bad to say about him or his class. He's funny, knows his stuff, and can utilize technology properly. He keeps me interested! His powerpoints help, but those videos he chooses are the best! Reading the book helps and you should go to class because of the bonus questions for the quizzes. Most of the grades are quizzes!

This professor is AMAZING!!! Attendance isn't that mandatory, but its good to come to class, b/c he gives out extra points, and secret words that you need on a quiz. He is very helpful and his class is easy. There is no reason to get below a B in this class..He also looks like Clay Mathews!!! =) But this is definitely the professor U need 4 HIST.

Awesome professor. He gives out clear instructions in class and is very helpful. He doesn't always answer emails (because most of the questions asked are answered in class) but he will help if you ask him. He's a great guy and you will get an A if you actually try and put in some effort.

SO awesome! He really keeps the class interesting. The quizzes and writing assignments really aren't difficult. He warns you on the first day of class that he will randomly give out secret words that will be on the quiz. He's very willing to work with you. AWESOME guy! I enjoyed the class but I will admit that I did not attend every class. However I did use the resources he gave and made an A! He layed out the format of the class on the first day and gave clear instructions on how to do well. I'm sure for those of you who had legit questions, they were hidden among the gobs of ignorant questions.

GREAT professor! The quizzes are easy if you attend class and read the section, and the writing assignments never ask for anything more than simply answering the prompt. Use your sources, attend class (which is always enjoyable and often hilarious), and keep an understanding attitude, and you'll do fine.

Prof Hutch was funny and made class extremely interesting. Although I already love history, anyone who does not will still enjoy this class. Although he does take a while to get back to emails, he is as understanding with us as students as we are with the fact that we are not his only priority. I highly recommend him as a professor!

Awesome guy! Class is very straight forward. No final, just weekly quizzes & a few one page writing assignments. Quizzes are a piece of cake if you take advantage of the review website from the textbook & go to class. Writing assn. are a pain, but not a hard grader. Offers extra credit at end of semester. Laid back dude that I would def. recommend!

To get an A in this class, you must purchase the book & put in a max of an hour or 2 a week of study/writing time. Grades break down this way: seven 200 point essays (very short,250 words) and 14 100pt quizzes. I never read any of the book except the primary sources for the essays. I didn't need to; scanning the book for quiz questions was enough.

Hutch is an awesome professor. I wasn't always in class but he was clear on what he wanted and if you didn't understand than he would easily explain it to you. If you're not a history person, he is definitely the prof for you. He makes the boring stuff interesting and everything else is just easy.

Hutchinson is the best professor I've had while attending KSU. He knows his material, and doesn't jerk you around with surprise assignments and online BS. I would definitely take him again if able, and would suggest no one else for classes that he teaches. He's witty, sarcastic, and makes the lectures something you WANT to attend. Highly recommend.

This class was not easy, but not hard. He understands that every college student have other classes during the semester and more importantly, a life, so he will not suprise you with non sence work. And yes, I do agree, Hutchinson for President.

Very easy class.If you fail this class or make a lower than an A, you are not college material.Very easy quizzes and discussions. The only problem is that he takes forever to grade discussions and post quizzes. other than that, the best teach there is in Kennesaw.

Hutch was a great professor. He explained the information in every way. The quizzes were a little difficult at first, but he makes it easy to improve your grade if you made a bad average on a quiz or two. Overall, he made the class interesting and was a really fun professor.

Loved, loved, loved this class. Took this class last semester and loved his class. History is boring but he makes it interesting and fun. He's funny and was surprised he wasnt upset that out of 250 students only 30% showed up. Quizzes on every chapter, a LOT of reading. Would love to take another of his classes.

Lectures are AMAZING. My only complaint was that I wished he could have provided more direct feedback from our work. But other than that, I really enjoyed his class.

Really easy class! I don't know why some people said it's a lot of reading...I rarely read the book. It was kind of a waste to buy. The only reason you need it is for some of the online discussions. Not a single test or essay. Only online quizzes and discussions. For all map quizzes he gives you a map before the quiz and places to identify. SO EASY

Thor is one of my favorite teachers. While he may not be the easiest (though he's close), The Cloud-bringer is definitely the most fun. If you get the chance, you can't get much better than Odin-son.

I have never liked history but Hutch could be one of my favorite teachers Ive ever had. He is very clear with his material and seems like he loves what he does. He will crack jokes throughout class and they make the lectures somewhat fun. If you have the chance to take him, do it!

If D2L has problems, you might get a free pass for missed assignments. Lectures can be long, but he uses lots of videos too. TAKE THIS CLASS if you need the credit.

Literally my favorite professor i've ever had. He's extremely insightful and has an entertaining personality. The class work is fair and isn't difficult to keep up with. Professor Hutchinson's lectures are extremely engaging and informative. He is a history geek and is very knowledgeable on the subject. If you want to learn a lot and laugh along the way, take him. He isn't out to ruin your GPA, he genuinely wants to teach you about history. Class is not mandatory, but he will make you want to go to class!

Prof Hutchinson made me love history. I have never taken a history course that I actually fully retained and enjoyed learning the content until taking his class. He's definitely hilarious, and wasn't afraid to let us know what his opinions were which is super refreshing since so many teachers keep their personal opinions secret. Professor Hutchinson is a great professor. Lectures are very interesting and he always shares his thoughts/opinions. Tests are based off the book, not notes. However, study guides are given and look exactly like the tests. Six attendance quizzes are given. There is no homework, just 4 tests (including final exam) and the 6 attendance quizzes.

Im usually terrible in history classes but he made things a lot easier with his notes and study guides. he gives a few quizzes and 4 tests counting the final but he gives 100% on quizzes b/c theyre to test your attendance. So hes an easy grader and even curved a few tests. The only time youll have homework or use the book is to study before tests

The most chill professor I have taken at Kennesaw and I am a junior. There are six pop quizzes but at the end of the semester he just decided to give everyone 100s for the quiz portion of our grade. There are three exams. The final is 100 true and false but this semester he gave us the test to study before the final.

I thought I wasnt doing well but ended with an A! Does alot to make up for poor test scores.
