Everyone else's comments are true - the workload is much more than should be expected from this kind of class. However, Dr. K is still one of the most passionate and knowledgeable professors I have had. He cares very deeply about chemistry, and it shows in his lectures and every other interaction I've had with him.

Doesn't give any "real" practice tests to prepare for the exam. Doesn't go over all topics that were really covered on the exam either (like pH, pOH, moles electron, etc.) I feel like he is very nitpicky on what he's looking for in the lab notebook and can easily get points off. Overall I feel like he just expects you to know topics on your own.

Professor Kummer did not set clear expectations for this class's previous midterm exam, and did not give adequate practice questions that reflected the difficulty of the course. While I think the labs demonstrate technique properly, the exams are very detrimental

I enjoy Dr. Kummer. The issue is the content in exams is expected to be learned on your own - it is impossible to teach all the content via one lecture/week. The pre-scans are time-consuming but will help you in the long run. Put in the time, and you'll be fine. Lots of understandable negative reviews, but honestly, I enjoyed him and his class.
