Very engaging lectures and a brilliant set of lecture notes. Always available to help and explain topics outside lectures. Labs were well organised and a lot of fun - especially as we got to choose our own projects.
The best lecturer I've had throughout my degree. Very helpful, always available, and interesting to talk to. The module lecture notes are perfect for revision. Excellent quality.
Interesting lectures and slides that can be used for exam revision. Easy to talk to and understands what it's like to be a student when it comes to lectures and exams.
The best lecturer ever. It's a shame I only got one of the module he does because I'm not Comp Sci.
The best lecturer. Good lectures and easy to understand notes. Always willing to help.
Very well prepared notes and coursework sheets. Detailed lectures and notes. Available almost every day for extra help outside lectures. Couldn't ask for more from a lecturer
Easily the best lecturer at Warwick and a fantastic guy. Matt has been one of the best things about studying Computer Science.
Clear lectures and coursework. Detailed feedback on coursework. Gives a lot of time and attention to every student. This is what all lecturers should do.
The best. Matt is what all university professors should be like.
The lectures were organised and done in a way that made everything very clear. The lecture slides were really helpful for the different coursework problems and even the dissertation. A lot of time of time was spent helping us to understand what was expected and how to do research in a scientific way.
The best lecturer in the university, and one of the best things about my degree at Warwick. Nobody else in the department makes such a difference to so many students. I don't know how he has the time or energy for all the things he does but it is appreciated.
The best! Lectures are good and sometimes very funny but the support and help outside lectures is better than we get in any other module. Should definitely teach more modules.
Definitely the best lecturer in Computer Science. Matt treats every student as an individual and always makes time to help regardless of whatever else is going on. It was great to have someone who cares so much around during my degree. Current students are very lucky to have him at Warwick.
Really enjoyable lectures. Excellent teaching with lots of insight and details about key topics and areas for future research. A really inspiring lecturer.
The most talented, hardworking person I have ever met, who also happens to a brilliant lecturer. Matt always makes time to help people and is involved in everything positive about Comp Sci at Warwick.
The most inspirational lecturer on the course. A really interesting person to speak to, and has a vast knowledge of many areas of Computer Science. The lecturers at Warwick are all good but Matt is the best by far.
A fantastic lecturer. Always willing to help and consistently fair when it comes to coursework and exams. He teaches in an accessible way and always makes sure that the most important things are covered in detail. The best anywhere.
Matt is very approachable and his teaching is excellent (I tend to remember everything in his lectures without much effort because it is presented in an interesting way). I don't share his obsession with expensive Apple products but I can't fault his teaching.
Matt was the best supervisor I could have asked for. He was brilliant at coming up with ideas for things to do and the sheer amount of time he gave up to advise and help me understand what I needed to do to make the project successful was incredible. I spent a lot of time working but I definitely wouldn't have been so successful without Matt.
Easily the best lecturer at Warwick and the best teacher I've ever had. Motivates you to work by giving you interesting things to think about and gives out coursework that is more than just "bookwork". Can expect a lot of students but is always willing to help anyone who want to work hard. Very enthusiastic (about everything) too.
The best lecturer I've had and he wasn't even in my department. We should be jealous that CS students get taught by Matt. I would recommend his modules to any student who wants to understand a subject and enjoy it at the same time.
The real question is: why can't we have Matt for all our modules? He knows everything in the course and gives the best lectures. He can talk about all the different topics in detail without needing to read slides or look things up. Warwick should just get him to teaching the whole course. Really enjoyable in every way.
My favourite lecturer at Warwick! He knows what he's talking about and is very witty in the way he talks about things. He relates things that we now understand to new problems and creates a very relaxed atmosphere in labs.
A hero. The lectures are interesting and Matt is enthusiastic about everything. The labs are fun and relaxed. The tutors and Matt get the time to talk to everyone and take votes on lots of strange topics. Overall a great experience.
Matt gives the best lectures. Even when the subject isn't very exciting he finds a way to make it interesting. The mix of dry humour and enthusiasm make lectures really fun.
The best supervisor. Completely honest about what he thinks so you know how to improve your work. If you don't mind working hard and being told the truth about faults then Matt is the best.
Matt does not even teach the module and I have only been taught by him once but he was so helpful and willing to teach me about programming and data structures that I have to say he is the best lecturer. Nobody else seems as good at spending time working on problems and helping students as Matt.
I think Matt has the highest standards of any lecturer in CS but he is honest about his demands and willing to help improve work. Unlike some lecturers I'm not scared to show him what I've done. Really entertaining lectures and labs too.
Incredible lecturer. Always has time for you (no matter how small the problem) and knows exactly what to say to make you understand. It helps that he's interesting and knowledgable about other subjects too. He gives the best advice.
A fantastic lecturer. He knows the subject incredibly well and gives amazing lectures. He also makes the maths parts easier to understand than anyone else. It doesn't hurt that he's a babe too.
The best lecturer. I was terrible at writing documents and giving presentations until I worked on them with Matt. I don't write code for a living but I use the skills he taught me every day.
The best lecturer at Warwick or anywhere else. He makes all his modules interesting and exciting. Exams are hard but fair if you have revised. Also gives up an incredible amount of time to help students, even when it is just chatting about the course or revision.
Matt was a brilliant supervisor and practically got me my job all by himself after uni. Speaking to him helped me to understand how to make my work better. He expects a lot but helps you to be so much better if you work hard.
The best person I have ever been taught by. One of the nicest too. A brilliant lecturer but also someone who will help out even after leaving Warwick. I have an amazing job that I did not even know existed before and it's because of Matt. Amazing.
Literally wrote an e-mail and got me an Analyst job interview. I got the job!! Lectures were always great but Matt is even better at helping outside them.
So much fun to be taught by Matt in seminars. I wish the classes were for marks but I suppose they would have to be less interactive and fun. I actually look forward to going to the next seminars so I can see what happens. Very interesting and productive.
Matt responds instantly to questions and explains things whenever you don't understand. Lectures are exciting too. Much more exciting that other lectures. Drinks a lot of coffee too. The best lecturer so far.
The reason to study Computer Science at Warwick. The amount of time he spends talking about problems and helping is amazing.
Matt , what would we do without you !
Incredible lecturer who teaches well and gives fair exams. I think that's quite rare. Very excited about being taught the advanced module next year.
The best lecturer at Warwick because he actually cares and can teach. I'm not in the Computer Science department but I would love to have been able I take more modules of his.
A great lecturer and the nicest person I've ever spoken to apart from my family.
A inspirational lecture from a thoroughly lovely professor. He really communicated the benefits of a degree and the quality of Warwick as a university. Our daughter will definitely be applying after today.
Matt is THE reason I got my first! The best support for three years. Nobody compares.
He was really passionate about maths and algorithms. The lectures he gave were some of the best bits of the course. The quiz was really fun! A really inspiring and funny lecturer to learn from. I definitely want to study at Warwick now.
Matt Leeke is my personal hero. I thoroughly enjoy his lectures which are full of interesting and challenging content. The exam is great, and the coursework exceptional. Probably the best module I've taken.
Spent (literally) hours going through my work and applications for jobs to help me improve. The amount of effort he puts in to every student is incredible yet his lectures are always fun and interesting.
Incredible lecturer. Always there, always cares, always helpful. The fairest marker too because everything is clear and consistent.
He came in just to speak to me because I aren't very good at programming. We spent a very long time talking about Java. Much more time than a lecture or seminar or supervison. Programming is much less scary when you explain it properly. I wish seminars were done like talking with writing code.
Matt and Steve are the best lecturers we have. They give really good lecturers and are available outside whenever there is a problem. I will definitely take the extension module next year if it's like this.
He is more than a lecturer. Probably the best in the Department of Computer Science.
Always starts lectures with stories and jokes and asks what student's have been up to. Can tell that he knows what he's talking about, doesn't just read off slides.
Lecture are fun which means you pay attention and learn much more than in other modules. Slides are really well written but he doesn't just read them out or use them for reminders. There are lots of interesting examples in every lecture and he asks good questions to make sure everyone understands. The best lecturer we have!
An incredible lecturer with a great sense of humour and understanding for students. The effort he puts into lectures and notes makes such a difference. His lectures are the ones I look forward to every week, just because I know I'll have fun and learn something at the same time. He's also the nicest person you could meet.
The most open and engaging professor we've met during university visits. He provided all the information we could want and went to great lengths to answer the questions of everyone attending. He clearly commands the respect and admiration of students by the example he sets in talks and discussions. He and his colleagues gave us a brilliant day.
Actually an amazing lecturer! Every lecture is engaging and interesting. Responses to e-mails are almost instant and have useful information that you can use straight away. Coursework is always fair and helps you to understand the module. Office hours are almost all the time because you can just go and speak straight away.
Without question the best lecturer and most important person for helping you solve problems. The funny lectures and coursework are tiny compared to the amount of effort and time he puts in to help. I never feel bad for asking and never get turned away no matter what else is happening. Just awesome that helping students is the most important thing.
Fun and engaging, always willing to go the extra mile for his students
The best lecturer at Warwick. His modules have been the best part of each year. I pay attention in lectures because they're interesting, not because I have to. The most supportive and interesting lecturer too. He should teach more!
We were hugely impressed by the professor at the Warwick open day. He gave up every minutes of his time to deal with questions from students and parents even after a great lecture. The advice was very genuine and communicated with exceptional clarity. It is clear to see why he has the respect and admiration of students and staff at Warwick.
A phenomenal lecturer with actual charisma but who also gives valuable advice and helps with careers. On top of a fun first year I got a detailed CV review back an hour after sending it and directs contacts in the companies I wanted to work. My internship is perfect and I would have had no idea about it without Matt.
A wonderful professor who spent a great deal of time talking to us about the courses on offer and the various modules that can be chosen as options. This has been the fourth university we have visited and it was the most useful and informative experience.
The best lecturer in the university and most likely one of the best at any university. Lectures have been more interesting and engaging than pretty much anything else we get to do, so I look forward to every one. Amazing support for students and lecture slides. They have everything you need for the whole module.
Matt spent almost four hours going through career options and helping me to find a placement year yesterday. On top of being the nicest person at Warwick he gives amazing lectures and really cares about every student. I will definitely be taking his module next year.
Matt provides the best support for exams and coursework all year long. He is never too busy to offer help when the pressure is building around exam time and always thinks of ways to do things that reduce stress. By far the best there is.
An amazing lecturer throughout my whole degree. I feel bad for just writing about just one module because of the sheer amount of help I have had from my first day at Warwick. Not the only reason but an extremely big part of why a Computer Science degree at Warwick is so good.
The absolute best lecturer at Warwick. Amazing lectures are just the start but they do always hold your attention and go way above what anyone else does. Really useful advice and help whenever you need it on basically anything. I owe the start of my career to the talks we had two years ago now.
An excellent lecturer because he puts a lot of thought into lectures and how we will be able to learn the subject. Something new and different is preented every single time. Lectures, especially the beginning parts, are exciting and make it more fun to be in the room for. My favourite lecturer at Warwick.
I will be sorry when term time ends and the module finishes, that is how interesting and fun the lectures have been in comparison to everything else. There is an obvious plan for what you are expected to do that includes the coursework and the lab time. The best and most entertaining lectures by a mile.
The most amazing professor at Warwick. Lectures are brilliant and always something to look forward to. There is a lot of work in the module but I got more out of the coursework than anything else in first year so far. He helped to write my CV and get an internship when I didn't even know that I could as a first year. There is no better professor.
One of the best teachers I have ever come across.
The best professor in Computer Science by a country mile. Lectures are extremely fun and you learn everything you need if you go to every one. I have taken my own problems to him again and again, always coming away knowing that they've been solved or that I know what to do next. I'm so thankful we have him to speak to when I need help.
Absolutely amazing professor! We spent ages going through my CV and applications until I eventually submitted them, making really detailed changes until they were tailored to each job. We did a few sessions of technical interview practice which made my real interviews almost fun. I ended up with three offers to choose from after only a few weeks.
Amazing lectures and support for graduate jobs. I've lost count of the number of times he read my CV and helped with applications or interview practice before I ended up at my first interview. It only took one but that's probably because of all the work we put in beforehand. My job relies on the modules he taught. By far Warwick's best lecturer.
Matt is the best professor in Computer Science. He is the embodiment of amazing teaching. He is always available when you want to talk, even if the topics is not related to lectures or you need general advice. The number of students he helps every day is more than almost every other professor combined.
Amazing lecturer, really helpful. I can go to Matt with anything, basically anytime. He is undoubtedly one of the best lecturers in this uni.
The most accessible professor by a million miles. Lectures are the most interesting and best supported, even though the notes are more than enough to learn from. There's genuinely no stupid questions so you come away having actually learnt something every single time. That's before all the careers help and encouragement to do the difficult extras.
The most amazing professor. The lectures and labs are easily the best part of first year. The exam was fair if you had revised. He offers to mark past papers in front of you when you are revising. You get feedback on the spot so that you know exactly how to improve. I just can't explain how supportive and positive he is to every single student.
Matt is the best professor at Warwick. From day one he was someone that every student in my year could go to when they needed help. He is never too busy to see you (unlike pretty much everyone else) and genuinely cares about what's happening with students. He made a huge difference to my degree and the degrees of everyone else I know.
The best lectures and coursework in the whole first year. The way lectures are delivered keeps you interested and makes you want to keep up with the module. Labs were a lot of fun, probably the best part. The lectures are the most impressive and interesting I have ever seen.
Over the summer Im getting more help from Matt with my CV and preparing for next year, on top of him easily being the best lecturer and helping me to get an internship. He is the most helpful and accessible professor at Warwick. He always knows exactly how to help and will work with you for as long as you need.
I just got a job offer from the company that Matt helped me apply to for a summer internship. I am absolutely positive that working with him on my CV and interviews has completely changed my career. Lectures were amazing in first and second year but he genuinely cares about everything that comes after that. Such an amazing professor!!!
The best professor ever. Ideally he should teach a module in every term of every year so that we always have something to look forward to. I can not emphasis enough how much more interesting and useful these lectures are than the usual teaching we get.
Such a good first lecture. I understand why people say that hes the best professor. Compared to what we have so far I think this is my favourite module.
Blown away by the difference between the quality of Matts lectures compared to everyone else. Not just for the humour but for the fact that the lectures feel like a story. The details and off the cuff comments make it so good. There is no reading the slides out loud or droning about every bullet point. More please!
As if giving the best lectures and setting the most interesting work wasn't enough, Matt helped me get a job that I never thought I could get. Honest the best thing about studying at Warwick no matter what year are in. I owe him so much and he is still helping me. Believe the hype.
His lectures are the best part of my CompSci course by far. Incredibly entertaining lectures not only because of the humor, but also because he manages to make the subject more interesting than it should be. Warwick is lucky to have him.
Incredibly entertaining and interesting lectures. The most engaging professor we have. He speaks with authority and knows the subject so well that he makes research topics accessible even to first year students. I did not expect to enjoy the architecture module but having Matt for it makes me want to carry on doing the topic in the future.
Hard to explain just how good Architecture is compared to other modules. Everything about it is just better. Lectures are interesting and fun. The lecture style is the opposite of reading from the slides. Questions are answered instantly in great detail. Matt even spends time talking to everyone about their work walking back after lectures.
Matt spent weeks helping me with coursework, meeting almost every day to give advice. The lectures were absolutely amazing but the help when I was stuck or needed help was just the best. Honestly I can not thank him enough for everything he has done since I started. It made me feel OK about not doing any computer science before I came to uni.
A genuinely amazing professor. Lectures are the most fun, the coursework is the most interesting and the lecture notes are the most useful for learning the module. We get updates on marking even thought it is being done much quicker than every other module. He really cares about how students are doing and working to help everyone improve.
The amazing lectures and labs make COA the best module. He sent me detailed feedback within minutes when I wanted to know how to make my coursework better and invited me in to discuss it after marking. He even recognised me to wish me and my family Merry Christmas as we were leaving campus. There could not be a better professor for CS or Warwick.
Excellent lecturer who is dedicated to helping his students in every possible way. Has a record average email response time of 4 minutes. Lectures are engaging, accessible and its worth mentioning he's not afraid of a few memes here and there.
The best professor in Computer Science. Lectures are so good that you look forward to each one. He spends time helping you understand coursework and can answer questions directly because he marks your work himself. I would go to lectures even if I could not do his modules, they are that good. The best reason to study Computer Science at Warwick.
By induction Matt is the best professor in Computer Science. Every time I have a question on e-mail or pass him in a corridor I know I will get a straight answer coming back. He helps in a way that makes you work hard. Every lecture is amazing (especially the first ten minutes). He is just the best and that is not an easy thing with Florin around.
I had great nerves about my presentation for the research methods module. The professor was welcoming and helpful all the way. He asked interesting questions and helped me to do a better presentation. I am sure he helped me a lot to achieve the best result I can.
The most amazing professor. I get the feeling other professors dont really want to teach but Matt is the exception. Every lecture was amazing and the coursework was so interesting. I have no idea how he marked it all so quickly or how he finds time speak to everyone who wants his help. I cannot wait for the advanced architecture module next year.
Inspirational does not get close to describing him accurately. Matt is the most amazingly positive person I have ever met. My time at Warwick and my career have been significantly improved by his help and advice. He is the best professor anyone could ask for and he is so nice on top of it.
The best professor. Gives the best lectures, coursework and feedback. Talks to you whenever you need help and responds basically instantly on email. He helped me get an internship in first year and is still the best for advice. He has made my time at university a million times better.
I owe so much to Matt. In first year he helped me get a better internship, way after the careers people said I was done because I had one. I would never have got a first without him being so willing to help. I lost count of the number of times we spoke. I basically ended up in architecture optimisation because of his modules and I love it.
The best professor I have ever met. He made the biggest difference to my degree. Lectures are amazing, he is always available when you need to talk, he responds in minutes and gives really good advice. I would not have got the job I have without him. I just can not say enough good things. He is absolutely essential to studying computer science.
Lectures are by far the best. A lot of effort seems to go into every one. The start is fun and helps to get going but there is a story that is being told by whole module that makes it much easier to follow. I didn't understand a lot of a topic but I want to Matt and he spent ages helping me to get it and going through every question I had.
Amazing lectures and notes. The quick lecture recaps are really helpful to understand the module. Labs are interesting and fun with a partner. The videos for every bit of a topic give you a lot of confidence for the exam because they let you know what is expected. I got an instant responses to email questions every time even when it was marking.
I really enjoyed Term 1 because of the architecture and maths lectures but I didnt realise how good they were until I had experienced other modules. The lectures were great. I got a instant replies whenever I had a question. There was lots of advice and help for the coursework and exam. Both courseworks were marked in a couple of days.
My favourite lecturer by miles. It isn't even close. Lectures are amazing. Labs are fun and not just about programming. The coursework helps you improve and do well in other modules. He is always available to see and responds to e-mails in minutes. Coursework was marked in a day and we could pick any time we liked to talk to him about it. The best.
He gave the best lectures, coursework and overall teaching in my entire degree at Warwick. In the last year I didn't have him but he was still there to speak to me about work and and starting my career. Unlike other professors I could get a meeting with him very quickly and he knew my course inside out. He is everything a professor should be.
Matt worked with me for weeks after exams to help me apply for graduate jobs when the world was basically shut down and the careers people were not responding. Thanks to his help and all the prep we did I got offered three jobs that were exactly what I wanted. His lectures were amazing and he gave up insane amounts of time to help us with problems.
Lectures were amazing and coursework was the best but the real point is that he genuinely cares enough to respond and help when you need it. I emailed the directors of teaching and got nothing in three weeks. I emailed careers and got nothing in three weeks. I emailed Matt and got an amazing reply that solved my problem after 10 minutes.
just an absolute legend, would listen to him lecture me about wiping my own ass and enjoy it
What an amazing professor. Everyone else seems to have bumbled around breaking their microphone or forgetting we can't see them but today made me feel a million times better about computer science. I have never done any before and I now feel like I'm not on my own. He was with us for three hours after just answering questions and helping.
Amazing lectures and really generous with his time. I didnt get the lecture video (Im new to computing) and he spent an hour explaining it to me after he had spent three hours answering questions after an amazing lecture. The absolute highlight of the first week. Wish we had more than one lecture per week because Im really looking forward to it.
An actual hero. The first lecture was so much better than the rest that comparing them makes no sense. He talked for ages after and replied immediately to the questions I forgot to ask. I got literally no answers about anything from my personal tutor but I got really detailed information from him about picking options and where to find everything.
Amazing lectures with genuine enjoyment. Detailed videos and slides that actually help you understand. Friendly whenever you speak to him, even if its a lot of time in one day. Knows that not everyone has done computing their whole life and helps you with it. I am doing any module he teaches. Insanely good.
Matt is so enthusiastic and helpful its crazy. I got answers to all my questions straight away and he helped me get started with programming for hours. We got everything working so I could finish the lab and start another coursework. The module website has everything and is super clear compared to others. Now I get why people love his modules.
Best Professor by far.
Amazing professor. Insightful lectures. A really engaging module. You can ask him any question and he will solve the problem right there with you. Extra detail on pretty much anything related to architecture or hardware. The speed of his replies to emails is totally ridiculous (in a good way).
Absolutely the most incredible professor. I asked for help on two bits of the coursework and his reply helped me finish in a few hours. It is so well thought through when you see the point of each part. Lectures are the only ones worth watching because you actually learn something from every one. Even if you know what is being taught it is amazing.
The best Computer Science professor and probably the best anywhere. Slightly hilarious to listen to other professors tell you they specialise in teaching so they will be using Moodle but they do less than half the content and none of the time Matt gives you. Great having him in first year but I use his third year module every day now.
An completely amazing professor. I enjoy lectures so much that I look forward to them every single week. I loved doing the coursework and trying to work out what we were supposed to do for each part. The group discussion after lectures and the kind e-mail have basically got me through lockdown.
Matt Leeke is a legend. He actually does good online lectures and tries to make them fun, and has somehow managed to mark 350 courseworks over 2 days, a feat unmatched by any other module organiser so far. CS132 is however a brick wall unless you already have a very good knowledge of hardware and low level systems. Good luck, it's not easy.
Lectures were a million times better than everything else. Every interaction I had was amazingly positive. Great coursework too. All our coursework was marked in two days. We got an invitation to email for more feedback or to meet and discuss ways to improve. I asked for more feedback at 6.55am and got paragraphs of suggestions and ideas by 7.10am.
One of the best lecturers out there. Super friendly, down to earth , puts actual effort into content and the coursework is somewhat fun. While the theory content is difficult stuff, the lecturer provides recorded lectures that actually makes the content accessible. Also feedback in given almost instantly (300+ CW marked in 2 days!). Top tier guy !
Amazing lectures. Always happy to help and answers questions instantly. Also just an extremely interesting person to speak to about anything. Somehow completely normal (amazing for a computer science professor) but with an extraordinary ability to inspire learning. I e-mailed him on Christmas Eve and got a detailed response in a few minutes.
I owe Matt so much for helping me get my first position in computer architecture. On top of giving best lectures and coursework he always gave advice that made a big difference to how I thought about problems. At first I found it hard to meet his standards but they are the standards I expect now. He motivated me to succeed then and still does now.
Matts ability to convert theory into single English is incredible. Someone needs to nominate him for the Nobel prize for literature.
Leeke is the best professor I had in my first year. He marks like a god, usually gives feedback within a week from submission date. Goes above and beyond. Can give very detailed personalised feedback. I am literally sad that he doesn't teach more modules.
Matt is the most amazing professor. He gives the best lectures. There is an incredible amount of support for everyone. The coursework is really well designed and lets you show what you can do without making you jump through hoops. Only when you do other modules do you realise just how good Matt is at making modules interesting and fun for everyone.
Incredible lectures. Incredible coursework. Incredible marking. Incredible replies to questions. Incredible understanding of fairness to students. Incredible advice. Incredible everything. Just incredible.
It was a Term One module but I still get immediate responses to exam revision questions in Term 3. Every other professor takes at least five or six days to reply and most take weeks or dont reply at all. Lectures were excellent quality. I learnt much from the coursework. Studying overseas has been difficult but Matt made it easy and interesting.
Amazing lectures and coursework. Insanely quick responses to email and easy to get a meeting with if you need to talk. Really friendly and always interesting to speak to. Genuinely seems to care and want everyone to do well but is also willing to put in all the effort with them to make it happen.
Amazing lectures and an inspirational professor. He is always friendly and happy to help with anything. Feedback in other modules takes months but Matt takes days. Emails for other modules take dmonths or never come but Matt takes minutes. The difference in quality and effort is astounding.
Matt gives amazing lectures and coursework. He replies quickly and is actually happy to talk when you need it. The exam advice is straightforward and he breaks everything down so it seems fair and manageable. There are specific revision videos on top of the lecture videos and live lectures plus revision sessions. Basically a superhuman professor.
One of the best
The best professor. So helpful and friendly when you need help, it makes you want to understand more and work harder. Amazing lectures every time. I was really worried about doing hardware when I started but it has been the best part of the whole year for me.
Term is basically over but Matt still spent the whole afternoon helping me with ideas for internships and plans for learning over the summer. I also realised that his love of Swift is also for the programming language which is the nicest coincidence. The module was amazing but the positive attitude and kindness he has is really what is incredible.
I am always blown away by how quickly Matt responds and how positive I feel after meeting him. Even in the middle of summer he was happy to meet and give advice on internships. Now Ive got a bunch of offers and feel great about it. I can not explain how much he has helped me in first year. Plus his actual teaching is amazing every single time.
The academic highlight of Warwick for me and basically everyone in my year. From the first day of first year he was always there to help and willing to go way beyond what anyone expected. He completely changed the way that think about work and pushed up my ambitions to where I am today.
He is always wanting to help. The lectures are most engaging because it feels like he is helping you understand what to focus on and the content. The coursework is interesting so I devote much of my time to it. Then I meet him and he is kind and welcoming even when I am new to computer science so have many questions.
Not the easiest module but he makes it fun.
MATT MATT MATT SUPER MATT
Excellent lecturer, very accessible and well-organised module, very easy to get in touch with outside of class, grades fairly and well.
Brilliant
The highlight of third year. Lectures were interesting and the coursework was extremely well managed. We could get detailed feedback on coursework drafts within hours. Questions were answered immediately. The marking was exceptionally quick and had comprehensive feedback. There is nothing I can even suggest to improve. There is no better professor.
Matt is an inspirational figure and the single hardest working person I have ever met. My career would not have started in the same way without his influence on my work. He is relentlessly positive and makes you want to succeed for yourself. A class act professor in every possible sense.
Matt responds to questions instantly and always makes time for you. Feedback is almost immediate. He has given me amazing advice and support since the first day of first year. He is always super friendly and the quality of his lectures is ridiculously high. I don't know how he finds time for everything but I am incredibly grateful.
Matt was the most friendly and helpful but also demanding professor of my degree. His lectures were amazing but it was more than just being engaging and interesting. He would reply to emails in minutes and help you to solve problems really quickly. I will miss his way of explaining things by asking simple questions that he knows you can answer.
The best professor I had during my degree. He makes lectures interesting and it is always worth the time to be there. Coursework is challenging and fun at the same time but you know what is expected. He is always incredibly friendly and helpful too.
Matt made me want to work harder because I could see the effort and care that went into helping us do well in his modules. It turned out that the hard work in his third year module was a big deal because it was the reason I was able to get a first overall. He is a great professor and a great person.
The best module and Professor in my whole degree. He put so much time into my work and CV in final year. He cared about what I wanted to do and always took my ideas into account.
The most ridiculously helpful and interesting professor. He helped me so much during my degree that I honestly don't know what I would have done without him. Birmingham has gained the best lectures and best support I have ever seen. So happy that I got to have Matt as my professor at Warwick.
Years after he taught me, he still knows me better than my personal tutor or anyone else at Warwick. Need a reference, it is there on the same day. Need advice, the meeting is immediate. Need help with a project, it is better within an hour. An exceptional professor that I am proud to know.
The kindest and most hardworking professor. I always felt like Matt was determined for me to succeed and it helped me raise my standard of work in third year. By the time I was done with the module and project, I felt like I could do anything. The attitude helped me start my career in the best way. I will never forget his help and kindness.
Three years into my career and I can only thank Matt for the most valuable lectures, coursework, and labs. I had no idea at the time but he was explaining a reality that is now my everyday. I owe a lot of my success to the insights he shared in the first years of my degree. Just listen and enjoy. He is even better than everyone already thinks.
Six years later and not only still remembers me but also my brother and the conversations we had after his lectures. The module was my favourite and now it is my career. He was the only person who would provide a reference for me with a tight turnaround. He is an incredible professor and a thoroughly brilliant person.
Professor Leeke is incredibly helpful and engaging. The lectures are well-organized, and his availability for support is unmatched. unstuck study complemented my studies nicely. Highly recommend this class.
Matt's modules were a highlight of my degree but the third year module was peak. It had brilliant lectures, a challenging but genuinely fun project, and crystal clear expectations. Feedback came within hours, questions answered in minutes, and the support made me raise my standards. I've had the feeling I can take on anything since his class.
