Great instructor. Do what is required of you and you will get a good grade. Study guides and powerpoints are very informative. Make sure to read them. Quizzes are true to what was discussed in the class. Group discussions are fun and interesting topics. He is a very understanding professor. I would definitely recommend.
Very easy teacher. He gives out one point of extra credit on the next test for showing up to class. As long as you show up and pay attention to the study guide, you will get a good grade in this class. All of the tests were 50 questions of multiple choice. I would highly recommend this teacher.
This class was super easy! There is no excuse not to get an A in this class. Everything you need to know for the test was on his power-points. Got above a 100 as my final grade! Take this class you wont regret it.
Awsome! Very cool, laid back guy. Show up to class, 1 point extra credit towards next test for every class = 5-9 points. I didnt open my book once, just pay attention an you will get a good grade. 3 tests 1 final and 1 journal. This class also knocks out 2 classes in 1 Hum and World view.
Excellent Online Instructor!! Highly Recommend! Easy to please, and very responsive. Read textbook- you will find all quiz answers within! Quizzes/Midterm/Final not timed. Discussion posts and journal assignment must be original.
Professor Unger seemed excited and interested in what he was teaching(which is not the case sometimes). His class was easy to follow. If attentive in class there should be no reason of failing this class. I would take another class taught by him in the future!
took class online. very simple to follow instructions. keep up on assignments, and its an easy class. make sure to do well on the paper, its 35% of your total grade. great response to questions, highly recommend him.
Took online. A chapter quiz every other week, print those off after taking them and you will get an A for sure on the mid-term and final. Very informative through grading (if any points were taken off at all). Just follow the calendar and you'll do fine. Power points aren't very relevant to quizes, just read the book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Learned nothing, took an interesting subject and killed it
I loved this Instructor. He is very laid back and quit knowledgeable.Made this class enjoyable and would definately would take him again if needed. Plus he is cute in that nerdy way that is why he gets a chili pepper from me =)
Unger is an awesome teacher! Have him for World Religions right now with an A average for his online class! HIGHLY rec. taking him! I hate history and everything involved with it and am passing with flying colors!
Mr. Unger was a great professor. There is a lot of reading involved in his class. He makes his lectures interesting and fun to listen to. I would recomend taking a class from him. It is money well spent.
Great teacher and so easy. He is also funny. His papers are so easy and his quizzes are from the book. He gives you grace periods for a week on your papers and you have the wholke semester to do the quizzes. His tests you have to study for but if you attend class he gives you a big curve! It was an easy AAA!!
Great instructor, he takes the time to narrate Power Points which help with quizzes and exams. Encourages free discussion and respect for multiple viewpoints.
Such a great teacher for online. He answers emails same day, provides a video powerpoint of what assignments need to be completed to stay on tasks. Untimed quizzes and tests, 2 essays. Not a big fan of humanities, but he made it very interesting. TAKE HIM!
He is amazing!!! Best professor ever. I received almost a 100% in his class. Chapter quizzes are easy, all in book. He is so nice and really understands his material. Not a lot of time required for this class. Highly recommend!!!! TAKE THIS TEACHER!
took online class. easy A. quizzes and tests are not timed. there are 2 800 word papers to write. make sure you are very detailed and cover everything he wants on the papers or you will not get full credit. definitely recommend! 5-6 discussion forum questions. no extra credit, but you don't need it. don't take anyone else.
Professor Unger is AWESOME! He wants all of his students to pass. For papers he always gives grace periods which is really cool of him. Test are challenging but you just have to study. I also took him for world religions and it was an easy A. Overall you should take him, he loves teaching and will keep you interested in the class.
Mr. Unger is an awesome teacher. I had him for world religion and passed the class with an A! He makes religion fun and interesting. He gives you all the tools to get to pass with a good grade. I would highly recommended Mr. Unger for any subject. I bought the book, but never used it. He is pretty cute for an old man too :)
Took class online and received an A. A lot reading, 5-6 Discussion Questions Quizzes and tests are not timed but only have 1 chance to take and are from both the book and powerpoint lectures. Be sure to follow guidelines for papers to get full credit 3 day grace period given for all papers.
Prof Unger was a really chill teacher. EVERY assignment or quiz had very detailed directions so you knew exactly what to do. As long as you followed his directions it's an EASY A. There is a quiz every week with only 15 questions and they're all in the book! There are 3 writing assignments but again, he gives you every tool you need to get an A!
I have just finished this class. The professor is very reliable and knowledgeable. Quizzes are not timed, and you will have three essays of 600 words to write and one final test. Also, you have to read and post comments every week. Overall, this is a good class and if you get organized you can get an easy A.
This was a fab class. I started out getting 80's on a few of the quizzes but in the end I had a very high A to where I only needed to earn 50/120 on the final to keep an A. It is a good class, discussions are ok he doesn't ask for much. Take him!!!!
Was not very interested at first, but ended up enjoying the class. Professor is laid back, gives grace periods for everything. Do the work, get it in by end of grace period and make a A! Do NOT take any other professor
Amazing professor! He is very chill!I took him during the summer. We had 5 discussions(& a 6th if you want to replace another discussion grade)had 13 quizzes(due by the end of the semester, so you can do on your own time)3 writing assignments(easy) and a final. Quizzes are not timed, and you can save and continue later. I WOULD RECOMMEND! I got an A
I would highly recommend! He was very clear and fair. It was not fast paced, so I was able to take care of things on my own time. I received a high A. He is also very understanding, and he gets back to you by email very quick.
Good guy. Chill. Friendly and helpful.
Professor Unger is a wonderful professor. He disagreed with most of my opinions and beliefs, but admired my work, and put his own thoughts aside to consider the work I had done. He seems to love what he does, and I truly appreciate that. I would take him again in a heart beat!
Excellent teacher. I recommend taking this class for a easy A or B. He grades very easy, so it is impossible to get a bad grade on an assignment. There are only two assignments, then the rest in in class quizzes and test. The quizzes you can use notes and friends but the test you can not. Makes class interesting and fun to learn. Take his class!!!!
This course is well organized. It's not difficult at all. Simply do the work which is straight forward and you'll do well. It's nice to see instructors that aren't seeking to fail students. His syllabus is accurate and you don't need to hunt all over the place to find what you are expected to do. Highly recommend.
This professor has the best syllabus - which means you aren't ever confused as to what you are to be doing for class. He is always helpful if you send an email, although he isn't much for chit chat! He gave great feedback on all work, and although he may have disagreed with me, I never knew it. He graded the work, not my opinions.
The syllabus was VERY clear. He was to the point on what he expected but don't get behind on the work thinking you can make up, it's a lot.
Professor Unger is awesome, his directions are clear and to the point. I took the online class and it was fairly easy. Just do your quizzes which are open book and your two writing assignment, midterm and final. Professor Unger is helpful and answers questions in a timely manner.
Class was great! Teacher made informative, tests with more than enough time to complete and read the whole chapter. I found myself taking the quizzes, then re-reading chapters to learn new information. It was huge to print out the study guide for exams and answer questions. If you do that, you get 100% on exams. RECOMMEND!!!
Would 100% recommend taking him as a teacher. The key to passing the class is to simply pay attention and take notes of everything he shows in his powerpoint presentations. Super helpful teacher and he submits grades within a day of taking a test/quiz. Had him for World Religions and am now taking him again for Western Humanities.
This class is mostly depependent on quizzes but they are untimed. The discussions are few and you have two written assignments. It's a good class to take if you don't want to be drowning in assignments but he does have clear expectations for writting assignments tat you need to follow.
Crystal clear online teacher who gave very good feedback. Take him!
Professor Unger is an excellent teacher. He treats you maturely and it is up to you to pass his class. Read chapters, take 20 question quizes. Two writing assignments and 5 class discussions. Midterm and Final. Very clear directions and would definitely recommend for someone who likes to work independently. Great teacher.
Easy quizzes and tests, attendance is not mandatory but he does take attendance occasionally on days with class assignments and quizzes, he makes it really interesting.
I had an outstanding semester attending this professor's class. He made a subject I do not care for not only bearable, but fun and interesting. Daily open-book, open-note quizzes based off his lectures helped me study while keeping my grade up. He's a very intelligent, devoted professor and I would definitely take a course with him again.
Awesome professor. Very lenient grader, very clear in expectations - you will never have any questions about what you're doing next. Everything you need to know will be covered in the lectures. Many assignments are based just on your participation, which helps your grade. So if you show up, take notes, and stay to the end you'll do just fine!
His reviews seem almost to good to be true, but they are spot on. Awesome Professor with very clear instructions and great feedback on assignments. This site has made my college experience so much better with finding professors like Mr. Unger. This class has 13 quizzes, two writing assignments, group project, midterm and final.
This is by far the best teacher SPC has for World Religions. If you take anyone else you will be sorry. Teacher is there for his students and wants to see them succeed. If you need help understanding something go to him and ask. He is always willing to help anyone that is trying. I never got bored in this class and it left me wanting to learn
I took this class online and Mr. Unger answered emails right away. His graded quickly after turning in assignments. He did a group project that turned out to be very interesting and he gave extremely good feedback. I would take him again he was a very good and caring instructor.
Clear cut, amazing lecutures
The professor is a great teacher but this class was probably the most work I have ever done in a required course. You have 19 quizzes that are 20 points each with only 1 attempt, a huge group discussion report & an individual one. A mid-term & a final. If you're looking for an easy class this is not going to be the one for you. It's a lot of work.
This Professor is amazing. If you attend each and every lecture you will pass the exam with flying colors. If you skip class (Like I did for a little while) you will fail the exam. Unger does NOT put everything he talks about in class online so you have to attend to get the required information. Otherwise the class was very enjoyable and easy!
I loved this class! He is a great professor!!! I would so take him again! :) Only two projects for the term and he gives his students a lot of opportunities to fix assignments!
Professor Unger was a great teacher! Quizzes are given each day in class (Open book, open note, open partners) so attendance is mandatory, 3 tests and 2 papers are given. I never even opened my book so i wouldn't go out of your way to buy it. Powerpoints are provided along with study guides for every test, pay attention and its an easy A!
He is a great teacher. If I can, I'll take a class of his again. He does lecture but they're online and he clearly states what he wants on his tests. He gives after class quizzes (but they're open book/note), tests, and 2 papers which are easy. It's an easy A if you pay attention, pass the tests and turn in both papers.
I absolutely loved Prof Unger's class. Its very obvious from the first couple weeks how passionate he is about the humanities. Daily quizzes after lectures that are open book/note/student and only 4 exams and 2 projects. Definitely recommend taking his class, he makes a subject that can be boring into a very interesting one.
I actually took Professor Unger two separate times. Once was for World Religions, then the next was when I took him for Humanities. He' s an excellent professor, gave 4 tests and Final was optional. Put forth the effort in his class and all will be well. He truly had a passion for this area of education. He is well spoken, & a great Professor.
Very kind, helpful and relaxed.
Everyone will tell you Unger is a good teacher, to take him, and you should. His classes pack fast, so decide soon! The online express class is a lot of work, but its manageable with good planning! He gives such good feedback, even online, about my work. Overall, you will have to be okay with reading a lot and there's no excuse for late work.
Just take his class. Seriously. Do it. He's really good. I wish he taught everything. He's so easy and flexible and SO nice. One of the best professors at SPC
I took religion online, and I enjoyed the class. There are a total of 7 discussion papers, 14 quizzes, 2 writing assignments, and 2 exams. The class was fairly easy, but a lot of work. The quizzes and exams were average, not too hard not too easy. He gives great critiques, responds quickly, and is very nice.
Professor Unger is great! I took him for Western Humanities and was surprised that I actually enjoyed the class! There are two writing assignments, 4 exams, an optional final, and open note quizzes each class. He also provides study guides. The class is a fairly easy "A" if you show up, do the work, and study. I'd love to take him again.
I loved professor Unger! He wants to make sure that you understand world religions so he doesn't try to trick you with questions on exams. There are 4 exams (50 questions, multiple choice, matching, and T or F) they are so easy if you study the very clear study guide and power-points he gives. Two writing assignments, graded on subject matter.
He is the best teacher I have taken at SPC! He made something that is not very interesting to me to having an open mind about the world around me. This class is easy if you pay attention and take notes.
Unger is a great professor. If you show up to class and listen during lecture, take the quiz (which is every class) super easy. You will def pass. He actually made the content interesting and was knowledgeable about it. If you don't show up to class you wont really understand the material so even though he doesnt crack down on attendance its impor
This class was straight forward and didn't have any surprises. Instructor Unger is easy to work with, gives instant feedback, and grades update quickly. Pay attention to the weekly discussions, participate, and you will pass. Mid Term and Final were not proctored, and were easy to complete.
Professor Unger is the best teacher that I have taken at SPC so far. He covers everything that is going to be on the tests during his lectures. As long as you show up for the class and listen to him, you should get an easy A.
Probably my favorite professor so far at SPC. His classes are very laid back, due to the fact that he is conscious of a college student's agenda. His lecture's are very informative and he makes sure to go over the material that you need to know for the test. Absolutely love his class.
Online class. Started out reading the book, but found it really wasn't necessary. Plenty of time to look for answers in the book during quizzes. 7 easy discussions. Quizzes are 10 questions each. Textbook chapters well organized. Two 600 word papers. He grades quickly, with feedback. You learn a lot in an easy way. Recommended professor.
AMAZING instructor. Nice, clear, makes a funny remark occasionally. Does a good job of making the course material interesting. Show up to class, pay attention, take notes if that's you're thing, do the discussion posts, and you are basically guaranteed an A. My favorite thing about this class is despite being easy you still learn a lot from it.
This is a great class! I am a dual enrollment student, with 6 high school AP classes, play sports and work part time and still was able to get an easy A in his class
Had Unger for two classes. He is awesome! He is very organized and by the book. Easy A, just do your assignments
I loved his class! He gives wonderful study guides, just be prepared to be able to visually identify art and study from your quizzes! He used video clips and makes the class interesting. Overall a great professor; would take again!
He is a great professor! The class relies on you to actually read the book to get a better understanding of the religion at hand. However, he is heavy on lectures. So if you missed a day of his class more than likely you will miss a huge portion of what will be on his exams. Most exams are based on lectures and his in class quizes that he goes over
I really enjoyed this class. I highly recommend it to anyone needing some extra credits. Nice professor, gets back to you quick, grades fairly (turn your work in on time and give good effort and you will get an A).
Prof Unger is well prepared, clear about grading criteria, and knowledgeable about the material. I really enjoyed the material so it was easy to not get distracted. He requires you to put in effort on the assignments. I would def recommend this prof for any class he teaches.
Very easy class, clear outline of work that will be done throughout the semester however- Professor Unger is VERY knowledgable of the materials and expects you to be well rounded when it comes to the background of these religions. If you dont study and world religions isnt your favorite subject, you will struggle in his class.
Very helpful! clear and direct with work description! Always replies to students fast and sufficiently (for me at least) Make sure responses are well thought out and you'll be good! Easy A but a decent amount of work recommend him online!
This class is fairly easy. It's a lot of material and I promise you will learn a lot of stuff you never knew before which is quite interesting. You can tell the he knows what he's talking about and truly cares. All he makes you do is worksheets and quizzes that you can actually work on with other people in the class. Exams are not hard just study.
Great lectures. If you skip then you do miss information
If you have to take humanities Professor Unger is the person to take it with! There are 3 big papers and a bunch of in-class quizzes to take but you can get help from your peers on the quizzes. Attendance is not required but if you miss the class you'll be lost for the midterm. Worth taking his class he's a great teacher!
This teacher really makes this class very interesting and he also just wants you to do your best. I would definitely take him again.
Great professor, wish there were more like him. Wants to see his students succeed. Many in-class mini quizzes that you can look up answers or ask other students, 3 big essays, read a book, quizzes and test on book, and midterm/final.
Professor Unger is very smart and I found his class, World Religions, to be very interesting. He gives great feedback and cares about the students. Would definitely take again!
modules are simple and he's very good with helping students
He does an amazing job on structuring his lectures for World Religions. Every religion was set up the same so it was easy to follow along and always know where you were at. He structures his exams similarly so he really does set this class up to allow everyone to pass if they do their best. I really learned a lot from his class! He was amazing!
He truly cares about what he is teaching. He is always prepared, and very organized. Does mini quizzes at the end of class based off notes to ensure students stay. No laptop use, which kinda sucks. Tests are fairly easy. Show up, do your work, and you're good to go.
I barely had any contact with prof during the semester (which is a good thing). He was always available via email and graded everything fairly. With online courses, your choice in prof doesn't usually matter. I'm glad I chose prof Unger, and I would definitely select him again.
I've never met a professor more passionate about teaching, he's always prepared and so organized. Mini-quizzes at the end of every class to make sure you're there for attendance but the lectures were so interesting and I learned a lot. Exams were not easy but you just have to study all that he clearly highlights for you and you're good. Recommend!!
He is very passionate about this subject, which makes it easier to listen to. You have quizzes every class, but you get to work together and look up answers in your notes. 2 writing assignments, 900 words each. This class is overall easy, you just need a good memory because he covers a lot of religions.
This was my first online course, and it was by far an easy A. Professor Unger replies back immediately to emails, and clarifies anything you need. All you need to do to get an A is be on-to of the time schedule for what is due, and submit assignments online and you will receive an A! Textbook is required definitely for the mid-term and final exams.
While this professor definitely knows the material he is teaching, he also genuinely wants his students to be knowledgeable as well. As long as you pay close attention to the writing assignments (we had 2x 600 word papers) and discussion posts criteria, you will do fine. I recommend that you take him online and just stay on top of the quizes.
Awesome professor! Quizzes and discussions every week. Needed the text book.
I love this professor. Mr. unger is very nice and gives clear assignments and instructions. As long as you come to class and listen to lectures you will pass no problem. Few big assignments hardly any homework ever. If you are absent he has all lectures and assignments online. I wish I could explain how great he is. Makes class not painful. 10/10:)
One of the best professors I've had. Truly educated on the subjects he teaches. He is understanding and very kind. Classes are laid back but also keep you interested. His lectures and notes are laid out and organized, the quizzes and tests are simple. I took both World Religions and Humanities with him. I would take another if I could!
Very monotone and boring. If he was a little more interactive and didn't lecture as much he would be much better.
This class is a lot of work but an easy A if you do the work. He grades very fairly and easily if you do the work correctly. Great online teacher!
Prof. Unger's lectures are incredibly interesting; going into this class it was just a requirement for my general education but he made a lot of subjects very interesting that I would have otherwise never looked into. There is no book but the midterm and final are made up from questions from the small daily quizzes, easy A class if you attend.
Class is really well organized and Prof. Unger keeps the lectures interesting. As long as you take notes and study, the tests/quizzes should be easy A's. Two 900+ word papers due but he grades very easy on those.
This Professor is amazing! He is extremely patient with students and answers any and all questions. His material is very interesting and you can tell he is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the subject he is teaching. There are very few assignments as it is mostly focused on the lectures, in which you will learn a lot.
Took online and so easy. Everything is open, weekly quizzes. 6 discussions. 2-600 word papers that are REQUIRED. Very useful feedback for every assignment. A very nice professor, would take him online again. Midterm and final online. Got an A on every assignment.
Honestly one of the best professors I've had at SPC. He's does lectures every class but they're actually interesting. Two big papers due but as long as you do them, easy A
Took online as an express course, highly recommend. Great professor. Gives in-depth feedback. Midterm and final are taken online at home. Mainly a discussion and an untimed quiz due every week. Two papers 600 words minimum. Easy A.
Great teacher who really cares about religions. He has been teaching this class for 25 years and really knows what he is talking about. If you take his class one night per week, he lets you use a one page study guide on unit exams but you need to take 2 unit exams in one night. Final was optional.
Professor Unger is amazing in his lectures. He is very informative and gives you everything you need for the test, so you don't need to buy the textbook. You only have 2 writing assignments throughout this class and you get a little quiz every class about the religion you just learned. The quizzes are very short, maybe 10 questions each.
Great class tons of information!
I would absolutely take Professor Unger again. The class I took was an express course so the class load was a lot. As long as you follow the syllabus and stay on top of you assignments you will be good to go.
Prof Unger was a fantastic professor. His lectures were very laid back and full of information. His instruction was top notch. I would definitely take his class again.
Professor Unger is a fantastic professor. He always provides amazing feedback for his students, and obviously really cares about his students opportunity to succeed, and learn. I took him online, and definitely recommend him.
Quizzes have a recommended time table but you are not docked points if you dont do it by the 'due date' and the time to take it is unlimited with 2 tries. Every week read from the book, answer a discussion post, have a quiz. Biggest thing he dings on is participation on discussions. Make sure you respond to every response you get on your posts!!
This was a super easy online class! Make sure to stay on top of the discussions and commenting on other people's posts. There are two easy writing assignments and quizzes on every religion, but the 10 question quizzes were open the whole semester, untimed, and have 2 attempts.
Took this class online. Instructor is a fair grader and willing to answer questions.
professor Unger was amazing!, I have NEVER taken a live online class in my life before , therefore I was extremely skeptical . however it was the best decision i ever made! would definitely choose him again!
Very easy class. Must participate in discussion posts or you will not get an A. Got a 100% A on everything. But I did this because I put loads of effort into the research papers. Quizzes are based off the textbook. Mid-term and final are easy.
I took Professor Unger's live online class. He did an incredible job adapting to Zoom teaching in 2020. If you read and attend the lectures, the tests and assignments are easy. He gave great individual feedback on every assignment and graded generously. You can tell he enjoys speaking on the subject. Very informative and interesting lectures.
He is a great professor to take for world Religions. Theres quizzes for each chapter from the textbook, one activity each week gives great feedback on all of activities. For final and mid term exams they are NOT proctored, use your notes. Highly recommend taking his class and the live online version of his class which I found to be very helpful.
I took this class 'Blended' (lectures in-person, work online), and I've never been so invested. The course content in itself is interesting and Prof. Unger is a great lecturer on top of that. The work are simple/weekly word doc. assignments. No final, but there is one large report that's fairly easy. There's also a required TB, but I never used it.
This class was an easy A. Professor Unger provides detailed feedback on all discussion posts and the final individual project.
I never talked to Professor Unger as I had him online (not live online) but his class was set up so anyone could pass. For each religion covered there was an easy quiz and discussion. There were 2 writing assignments that were also very basic. Professor Unger's feedback was very good. He was always very detailed and personalized his response. 10/10
An easy A, Professor Unger laid out the class clearly and provided great feedback. I took it as an 8 week online course, and the work load was light, usually two open book quizzes and a discussion post and/or paper every week, with very generous deadlines. Beware though there will be little help if you have an emergency, but otherwise loved it.
Very clear instructions and fair grader. Summer 8 week class and was allowed to progress at my own pace for the most part (took all the quizzes and final in the last few days of the course). Provided detailed instructions and outlined expectations. Provided resources for understanding and lots of really great personalized feedback on all work.
The class hasn't officially ended yet, but the best religions Prof. I've ever taken. He takes his time to give you detailed feedback on your responses. I took this as an 8 week accelerated course but it didn't feel like it. 6 disc., 14 quizzes, 2 major papers, 1 mid term and 1 final. He dropped 1 disc. but the 2 papers are mandatory.
Prof. Unger is a humble professor who gives the most useful lectures. He's truly knowledgeable and attendance isn't mandatory but I recommend going anyway. DO NOT buy the textbook he makes his own instructor's notes. Amazing and detailed feedback always. Funny guy. Not a hard class at all. Just pay attention in class.
Prof Unger is the best professor Ive had yet. He is really nice dude and really informative, clear, and gives great lectures, even more so considering it was an online class!
Amazing professor! One of, if not the best I have ever had. I had him for both Humanities and World Religions, both are very easy, and I looked forward to actually learning. His lectures are very interesting, and the information is provided online. You have several attempts at online quizzes, and you can have a study guide with you during the exam.
He was my favorite professor and I wish i could take him again. Everything is organized and structures so well. Quizzes are based on textbook and writing assignments are simple and informative. Gave really good feedback and extra credit!
Amazing Professor, makes you want to learn. classwork was mostly just online quizzes, they were very easy and he offers 2 attempts. Textbook was very helpful for quiz questions but you could probably get by without it. Overall it was a great class and he is a great teacher!
I took this course during the summer (16 week course in 10 weeks) and it was easy to manage. There was a lot of reading (I'm sure it's much lighter during a normal semester) and the online textbook had to be bought (ugh). As far as Prof. Unger, he's amazing. Super easy grader. Just do the work and format things properly and it's an easy A. 10/10
Incredibly organized, with clear instructions and grading. His lectures are very informative and detailed and he makes you want to learn! Obviously, he loves to teach as his responses are prompt, thorough, and personalized. I have never had a professor who is this dedicated. He should tutor some of the other SPC professors on his teaching style.
Class was very easy being that it was for an online summer class. All of the work was easy to complete, most of the grade was made up of discussion posts and the midterm and final. There is study guides given that are very useful for the tests. For each module there is a mini quiz given to test your knowledge on the religion which was beneficial.
Professor Unger is awesome! He's organized and responsive. I wish all professors were like him.
The tags I used to express this Professor is not enough to describe how amazing he is. Professor Unger was my favorite professor this semester. He thoroughly goes over content and asks if we understand it or if we need him to explain the concept again. If you get the chance to take his class, take it because you will love him and his class.
I had Professor Unger for both REL 2300 and HUM 1020. His lectures were always interesting, and I learned so much from the classes I had with him. He's an extremely nice guy and makes jokes during lectures. Definitely take him if you have the chance.
Professor Unger was absolutely amazing! I took him with my best friend during the summer and he made the course easy! Religion is interesting to me so I had to take it. You HAVE to take it w/him. He gives out quizzes for each chapter, discussion posts & a midterm/final! His textbook is online as well. He gives u study guides as well! Best of luck!
Passing this class is easy as long as you put in effort. There wasn't too much writing required and the quizzes were fair with plenty of opportunity to pass.
For each topic/religion, there is a quiz and a short discussion post (200 words). The textbook can be found online and is extremely helpful. There are only two writing assignments that are explained in detail and fun to do. Not a tough grader but gives great feedback. I would recommend taking the class with him!
Professor Unger was such an amazing professor. He always gave the most amazing feed back his class is such an easy A. He is helpful when you do not understand something. He is also very sweet and he gives extra credit for midterm and final and you have 1 research paper due at the end. Overall, really good professor, would take again.
Matthew Unger is truly a wonderful professor. All of his quizzes, and assignments will help you grow in your writing skills, communication skills, and knowledge of world religions. I would recommend taking this class to all. I took a 12-week class with him, and I wasn't stressed out, however; I would recommend taking a 16 class.
Excellent professor and offers clear grading instructions. Easy class overall, with a quiz and discussion per section, two writing assignments, a mid-term, and a final. I finished the course with an 89.2 because I didn't buy the textbook and could not correctly source the book in the writing assignments. I highly recommend him.
He seems nice and seems like he wants the class to do well, but he deducts points for the smallest things on discussion posts and replies. He also has rules and word count minimums for everything, it is a lot of writing so be prepared. Definitely not the most difficult professor but not the easiest.
He teaches with a passion. I feel like he actually cares about what he teaches. I recommend taking him for World Religions. He makes it very interesting.
Prof Unger is the best professor that I have had so far at SPC for online classes, and I have taken a lot of classes!! Just read the book, and you will be fine. Writing assignments and chapter quizzes were fairly easy, as were the midterm and final tests. DO NOT take this class as a half-semester!! Take it for the full semester, and stress less.
I chose him based on the reviews but he is by far the worst professor. I am in nursing school so I am used to writing papers and lab reports. He is the most terrible grader, very harsh, and every paper has so many rules and guidelines. 0/10
Professor Unger's REL2300 class is a great choice. The workload is manageable - just read the textbook, complete the quizzes, and write a few papers. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for test prep. Overall, an engaging class with a caring instructor.
Attendance wasn't strictly required, but there was a little quiz at the end of each class based on the lecture, and if ur not there for class, then u could not make it up, It was a very stressful class; midterm was online due to the hurricane, the final was also online. One of my favorite classes I took this semester. I highly recommend him.
Super easy A. Fun material in the class and pretty easy homework. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the discussion posts and you will be good. Unproctored quizzes & exams. Just stay on top of the work and you will be good.
He goes through slides super-fast, when asked to slow down he says everything is online. I wish there was more room for discussion, easy grader, kind, and clear grading criteria, and a clear schedule of lessons. Though most classes felt rushed he ensures students learn.
Very sweet professor, had no issues with him, Attendance isn't taken but theres a little quiz at the end of every class based on the lecture which u cant makeup if u miss it. one paper at the end but it very easy. give good feedback and very chill and understanding. he makes sure you understand the concept in a fun way. definitely would take again.
Very tough grader.
Professor Unger is very kind and clearly loves what he is teaching. He is passionate about humanities and loves yapping about it in the lectures, which really helps with understanding the content. All of the quizzes and exams are based on the readings so as long as you read the lecture material, you will pass.
Super easy prof, really chill guy and u can tell he really cares about his job, never had a problem, couple quizez, one paper , online midterm and final
Amazing professor. His lectures are so interesting and he doesn't give an overwhelming amount of assignments. I took this course at 8 weeks and it was perfect for me.
I've never had a better experience in any college classes I've never taken. Super easy to follow through every lecture. He understands the real world is changing and adapts his teaching to help you prepare for the future. 10/10 could not recommend enough. If he taught any other subjects besides the two currently I would take every single one!
This was one of my favorite professors. I took world religions and he made the class fun and one I looked forward to attending. He is extremely kind and forgiving with assignments. His grading is more than fair. Keep in mind you do need to study for the midterm and final exam (I would start at least a week in advance). Overall one of the best!!
