He is not helpful at all. He does not explain things very clearly and often answers questions incorrectly.
Easy intro course. Read the book and you're good. Not really sure what the other person is talking about as far as Metzger's knowledge goes. Typically this course is packed with freshmen/sophomores who at best have no clue what they are talking about
Was not particularly a great professor. Had trouble answering questions correctly and often second guessed himself. I agree much more with the first rating than the second.
Avoid this teacher if possible. He does not clearly communicate his knowledge to the students in a way that they can understand. If you can take a study guide, fill it out, and digest all the material by yourself you will be fine. But if you can't do NOT take!
Good prof...think he's new here. Changed methods to better reach students halfway through. Wish he was teaching Micro!
Good professor that wants to see his students do well. Provides detailed study guides and lots of extra credit opportunities.
It's obvious Metzgar wants his students to do well... his study guides, powerpoint presentations & clicker questions were incredibly helpful. He encouraged students to come to him if they had questions and was prompt to respond to questions via email. I highly recommend Metzgar for Macro and Managerial Economics.
He is great! wants you to do well, even changed some grading criteria during the semester to help improve grades. attendance is mandatory bc of clicker questions every class. book is needed for online reading quizzes. if you go to class the in class concept quizzes are easy. final is comprehensive. very manageable class id take him again.
He is a really good professor. He really wants everyone to do well on their quizzes and homework. During the middle of the semester, he fine-tuned the grading scale to help accomodate everyone. He frequently urges students to come by his office if they need extra help. Flexible and open-minded
If I had it to do over again, I would've never taken him for this class. He lectures & powers through most of the material w/o going over the concepts completely. After having taken Stivender for Micro I'd advise taking her for Macro if you can. Much better instructor than this guy.
Amazing professor. Perfected the grading scale so you can basically make a 100 on everything. Very easy! Just come to class and you have the answers to the weekly concept quizzes! best macro Teacher ever!
Dr. Metzgar started off teaching one way and then ended up with a different style.. once he changed I understood the material much better. He has a good personality and is a good professor. You must do your homework and study before class as the quizes he gives can be brutal.
Great Professor, Easy A
He is a nice guy who obviously cares about his students because he changed his teaching style in the middle of the class to try and help the students. But despite this, he is still not a very good teacher and I would not take him again.
Good professor. Used the textbook a lot because there were reading quizzes on Moodle before every class and the questions came straight from the book. Need a clicker for the class because there's usually 15-20 questions per class. Concept quizzes every other class and are very easy. I definitely recommend this class. Super easy
Helpful and clear guy wants you to want to learn and pass. Probably one of the nicest professors you will meet. He is very straight forward about class. If you show up, pay attention, and read what he tells you, you will be fine. If not, they now offer this course in the spring and fall.
He cares a lot about making sure students understand the material. The course is already challenging and the book doesn't make it any easier, but if you attend class, make effort to study, and do the clickers and daily quizzes, you can survive. His tests are extremely hard, but I still came out with a B:) Others came out with A's.
Attendance is not mandatory, but clicker questions for points are in every class and it's an easy way to boost your grade. Takes a survey after the first test to see how students want him to change his teaching style. His class is very boring, but guided notes force you to pay attention. All quizzes and homework are group activities.
Metzgar is an awesome teacher! He goes out of his way to help you, the homework and inclass DAILY quizes are very helpful when test time comes. I learned more from this guy than any other prof. @ UNCC. If you get the chance, def take him!
Dr. Metz is my fav! I have had him for a few classes, and he goes well out of his way to help and to make sure you understand the material. I have learned more from this prof. than any other at UNCC. Take him! If you put forth a good effort, a B is not hard at all to obtain.
Outstanding professor. His explanations are always crystal clear even when covering difficult topics. He has a great sense of humor which keeps the class interesting. Also, he is always willing to adapt his instruction methods to fulfill the needs of his students. Without a doubt one of the best professors at UNCC.
DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! You do not need it. Metzgar gives notes that you fill in during class. He also uses clicker questions to check attendance and gives group quizes. The class is an easy "A" if you go over his practice test and ask him to explain anything you do not understand. I would take him again. Awesome professor.
Best professor at UNCC!! Had clocker group quizzes with 7 questions and only 4 count the rest are extra credit! Had notes in an outline instead of boring power points and that helped a lot! The practice test was exactly like the exams! All teachers say that but never actually make it happen! Take him, he will make you enjoy Econ!!
Dr. Metzgar is a great professor. He is always enthusiastic in class and posts practice exams on Moodle. Go to class. Study. Don't need to buy the book because he has online notes that you fill in while in class. I would recommend for any upper level Economics class
I am so glad I took Dr.Mezgar. I've always struggled with Economics but he made the subject super clear and easy to understand. His tests are a lot like the practice but with some trick questions. The final was optional, which is a big plus for me! You do have to attend class, but it's a fun class. I would def recommend his class to anyone!
Metz is an excellent professor! I had him for Macro and Managerial Econ. He is very helpful and explains everything step-by-step. You need to attend class to get clicker points, but he makes Economics interesting and provides current examples in class. He does not teach from a powerpoint, he has print outs to follow along with in class. GREAT GUY!!
Great professor! Very helpful, answers questions clearly, very organized and prompt. The class isn't easy, and attendence is mandatory but he makes it pretty interesting. Highly recommend! He posts step by step videos, study guides and guided notes for class. You don't have to use the textbook at all!
Look no further when it comes to economics. Best professor without a doubt. Really nice guy, always willing to help, a little goofy but kept the boring subject entertaining. Attendance is "mandatory." Drops 4 lowest clicker days, 2 lowest quizzes, and lowest test (final included). So there's room for some skips. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!
Excellent professor. Really seems to care about students actually learning. Great teaching methods. Good job of making the class interesting. Very good, helpful resources. If you use them properly, you do not need the book. I wish he taught more Econ classes.
Dr. Metzgar was an above average professor. He was the consummate professional. He did a good job explaining the material, and focusing on the applicable concepts of economics. He did not make you do one thing in this course that could not help you in the future. The concepts were all useful. The textbook was good, but had some typos. Highly recommend
Great Professor! Do not buy the book!!! He gives lecture notes and that is all you need to make an A on the test. Go to class
LOVED this professor. I struggled in micro and macro, and he made managerial economics so clear to me! He gives examples just like the test, and if you can do the practice test, you will do well. DO NOT buy the book. He never uses it, & it did't help me. Tests are on clickers which I really liked, clicker questions in class too. Class isn't boring!
Clickers are 25% of your grade but easy grade (95% even if every answer is wrong; drops 2 lowest days); 3 other exams, final is optional to replace one bad exam. Each counts 25%. Lots of statistics. Exams are pretty much just reworded practice exams. Would have better grade if I really understood statistics. Great professor. Long lectures.
Took him for public finance. Everything done in groups, and we even did group exams where everyone got the same grade. Plus individual exams count 20% each and are only 25 questions. It was awful! It's not too hard to get a "B" in this class, but getting an "A" would be almost impossible. Take something else! If you do take, don't buy the book
Metzgar is by far the best ECON 3125 professor you can take. His class consists of daily clicker points (drops the 4 lowest), 3 tests, a final, and a mini project. He drops your lowest test (includes your final). Tests are exactly like the practice test (so actually study those). Tests are on clickers. Print out his notes & don't buy the book.
The best professor I have ever taken! Much better option to the pure math econ class with prof Amato, Metzgar is a lot of simple writing. He actually cares about your success, not a paycheck. Encourages critical thinking and you will learn useful real world material. Have to try to get a bad grade! Lots of class discussion, no boring lectures.
I hate economics, but Metzgar is awesome! He made it really easy. If you complete the practice exams three or four times before the real one, you should make an easy A's (I had a couple 100's on the exams). Understand how to do the h/w because it'll show up on tests as the "challenge problem."
Professor Metzgar is such an awesome professor! He made what could have been a difficult class, something that made sense in regards to real world economic problems. He is knowledgeable and very fair with his test and grading. Show up to class- his notes directly affect what will be on the test. I definitely recommend and would take again!
Metzgar is awesome! He is very straightforward and makes the class manageable. He has clicker questions every class, so make sure you do show up. He gives practice exams that are extremely similar to the actual exam. He's also more than willing to help you out if you're having trouble. Definitely the best teacher to take for Managerial Econ.
He is a great professor. he explains things in a way that help you understand what do do with each problem. Gives study guides identical to the test, but be careful cause he'll switch up the questions, so pay attention to what he's asking on exams. Other than that he is a great professor
Great professor! Interesting lectures, organized/clear schedule, nice person! Clicker points for attendance each class, 3 brain busters (in class assignments you worke with in groups), 3 super easy homework assignments, 3 exams and an optional final. I would recommend!
Tests are a huge part of this class. They are 75% of the grade but lowest one gets dropped. If you are like me and don't test well you can pass but not with the best grade. He is a nice guy though and willing to work with you. NO CURVES though so what you get is what you get. The entire economics department itself is very test heavy. Overall great
Metztgar is hands down the best professor I have had at UNCC. He makes the class so easy but you still learn a tremendous amount. I am absolutely TERRIBLE at all things math, but because of him i not only passed with a B, I actually learned a lot and could still use that knowledge today. Literally this guy is awesome. two thumbs up :)
Metzgar is AMAZING. He is very kind, and his lectures are extremely straightforward. Do NOT buy a book, print the notes out that he provides on canvas, and study the practice exams he also provides - its literally the test. He drops the 4 lowest clicker grades at the end of the semester, and even if you get a question wrong it still counts for .95%
One of the best professors I have ever taken. His gives practice test out before the exam and if you can do that fairly well you will ace the exams. Willing to help any student.
Very easygoing, clicker questions everyday as a form of attendance and participation. 1 semester project & everything can be done in groups if you want to. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!! The syllabus says to buy it but don't, he'll tell you the very 1st day of class. Everything you need to know is during lectures.
3 test final is a grade replacement, tests are like the practice exams with different numbers
Grade consists of PollEverywhere points, 3 exams ( optional final) , and a paper. Exams were really similar to practice exams. Only issue i had was during class, he would always call on random people to talk, not exactly to answer questions but to just randomly talk. It made me not want to even come to class most of the time because of that.
Chill dude. Come to class for clicker points and in-class assignments. 3 exams are pretty similar to the practice exams. He drops the lowest exam grade out of the 3 exams and the final. The final is pretty straightforward and comprised of questions pulled from the previous 3 exams/practice exams. Assigns one project, which doesn't take much time.
He's funny and pretty chill. There are 3 tests w/ an optional final. He takes the top 3 test scores. We also had a Real Business Task project. You have 3 homework assignments & in class work in which you can work with others. He really breaks things down in class and is helpful. Doesn't respond to emails. Practice exams are very similar to exams.
Cares about the concepts and the student's ability to understand. Fair grader and interesting lectures. Exams were through lock down browser which created some issues - even when loaded prior to the exam. Hybrid class allowed for interesting discussions online. Would take again.
Love this professor! His class is very well laid out. There are 3 tests, 3 homework assignments, & 1 project that is incredibly easy & you can work in a group if you wish to. Tests are all online not in lock down browser, but the optional final is taken on paper. He grades quickly & goes over notes in class. Easy to follow along.
Metzgar is a kind and interesting teacher. He knows his stuff and teaches it well. Most tests are online/open book and you do a lot of work in-class. The problem I had was he may over simplify things and I was surprised by problems that were really difficult and I wasn't prepared for. Not the easiest subject.
You do not need to buy the book. The exams are similar to the practice exams that he posts on Canvas. There are 3 exams throughout the semester and the final. The final is optimal if you are satisfied with your grade prior to exam time. There is one easy project and 3 homework assignments which you can work in groups and turn in the day its due.
Really enjoyed taking Professor Metzgar's class. He does a great job of relaying the material and there are a lot of group collab in class to do the problems. His tests are straight forward (three with optional final) and are all online, except final. Study the h/w sheets, practice tests and online videos to prepare for tests.
Professor Metzgar is a great teacher. We had three projects and a an optional final. We had the opportunity to work alone or in groups. Do not buy the book.
Take professor Metzgar!! All tests are online and you can use your notes. Takes attendance. There are 3 homework but you can work together. He is really nice and helps with any questions you have.
Metzgar makes the class easy to pass. While the class itself is not fun, the work isn't overbearing. Just follow his notes in class and watch the exam reviews online, and you will do fine.
If you are an econ or finance major you should be fine. Tests are online. Good professor but I am a marketing major so I didn't do as well as others. Daily clicker questions and a short econ paper. Do the study guides.
One of the nicest and easiest professors I have had so far. All of the tests were online except for the final, but the final was optional. He releases practice problems before each test with video explanations that is practically the same thing as the test, just different numbers.. so it is pretty difficult to not pass.
Matthews a nice guy. 3 online exams optional final. polls almost every class. 3 homeworks and a group paper. Do the review & watch his videos. Exams arent overly easy only class period online to finish so its stressful. He teaches fast just take all the notes you can.
He gives 4 online test, which isn't too bad. One group project so you need to pick a good group! Occasional homework assignments and daily poll everywhere points which aren't worth much. Make sure to print out the note handouts before going to class, they really help. He is a great professor, highly recommended!
Professor Metzgar is probably my favorite teacher at UNCC, he managed to take a class of 150 students and teach specific and detailed material in a way that's easy to understand and apply to the exams. He also provides a lot of ways to bring your grade up aside from the tests which is nice. Just watch the practice test videos and you'll be fine.
Class is large- 200+ people. Grading is clicker questions for in class & attendance credit. As long as you attempt to answer this part is easy. Same with HW, as long as you attempt he gives credit. Hard part about his class is tests. Despite having 97% in everything else, test sunk me. EXTREMELY math based. Unclear directions for group project.
Prof Metzgar explains things very well and provides a practice exam thats similar to actual exam. Study it and you will do fine. The exams (25Qs) are online but they are hard! Make sure you practice. He gives u a class period to do it and a lot dont get to finish. Attended is required bc u have clicker Qs every class.
Just finished taking a summer course with Prof M. It flew by quick so didn't really get to sit in on his lectures but he posted up everything that you'll need to know. HW, chap & exam reviews. Exams are 25 ?s but very hard. They are timed (but open notes/bk) so take good notes, study, & do persuall assignments (they are easy).
Mr. Metzgar is really good. I took his summer class. all the tests are online except final which is optional. I scored all the tests above 90 and all the answers are chegg, take his class and do the discussion questions , its a straight A! Definitely recommended!
Took this guy for a first summer class and is easily one of my favorite professors. Class was only a month long so everything was pushed together, but he didn't push it hard and it was still a cake walk. 3 exams, last one is optional, took exams online, go to class, take notes, swear its an easy A. I'm lazy and this class was dope.
Professor Metzgear is such a great professor. I wish he taught more classes so I could have him as a professor again. He makes the material easy to learn. He rocks
Managerial Econ can be a super easy class, the hardest part of the class is actually getting yourself to go because the lectures can be pretty bland. His tests aren't too bad, and he makes sure of that.
HIS TESTS ARE ONLINE!! Takes Poll Everywhere as attendance and does questions throughout the class. 1 HW assignment each week that takes maybe 10 min. Tests are not bad and are open note. Final Exam is optional!!!
Super kind professor. However, when it comes to his exams, he all of a sudden turns into satan. Exams are very hard. Refuses to give any points back on exams no matter the circumstance and has all answers taken down on chug and snoops around library to catch any possible study groups.
Absolutely the best managerial econ teacher you can get. His explanations are great, he is extremely accessible and he walks you through every problem step by step. After a very poor experience with another professor for this course (F), I am now averaging an A. His exams are tricky but he allows open notes. Copy his notes and you will succeed.
(COVID Course) Prof Metzgar is awesome. This class can be hard for some people but the way he lays it out is very easy to understand. Exams and most homework is online. He doesn't play when it comes to cheating so be careful. Drops lowest exam score. Attendance via PollEv. Study guides are very similar to the exams.
The class is easy if you correct all of the teachers mistakes lol. I would have failed this class if i didn't correct all of the errors he made on grading. Also he doesn't read emails in their entirety so if you need something stay after class. He moves really fast in class during lecture so your best bet is to teach yourself
Amazing professor . Very good way of explaining things. Gives identical practice test and test are online except optional final. Easy A if you go to class and do the practice exam.
This class is not as easy as some reviews made lead it to be. Professor has worked hard and prevented cheating by removing all his test questions off of the internet. Print out practice exams and complete them by watching his video explanation. THEY FOLLOW THE TESTS EXACTLY. Go to class, and do the clicker points.
Don't know why people like him so much. Goes over his lectures extremely quick to the point where it is impossible to keep up and you will end up teaching yourself the material. Ignores questions you ask him in through email.
Lectures sometimes move a little too quickly, but solid discussions between Prof Metzgar and the students occur regularly in each class. Not much homework, just a little bit of reading and online discussion each week. Clicker questions do count towards your grade, so regular attendance is recommended for an optimal grade.
Take Metzgar. I took it online and it wasn't too bad. He explains everything super well. Tests are very laid back and open note.
He posts videos working out homework problems every week so there's no need to attend the zooms. There's two attempts on each homework assignment every week. Very easy A as long as you do the practice exams and the homework he assigns.
He posts videos on the practice problems every week so there's no need to attend the zooms. Easy A as long as you do the practice exams and the homework he assigns.
Gives you a study guide that is similar to the exam. Practice problems and quizzes due on every chapter. Open note tests but dont rely on *sites* to give you the answers bc the numbers are different
Very test heavy. One test question is the one percent of the final grade. Its hard to get an A, unless you know economics problems well. Practice exams helps. Just study how to do every problem and you should be fine. The test average across all sections was around 76%. So you can imagine how it is.
Easy class but he isn't the best prof. His lectures have a weird setup that makes it confusing, the only reason I knew the info was from watching the extra videos online. Does give a study guide which is almost identical to test and test is open note. Is bad at replying to emails or being there to help.
Decent professor, concepts are a little confusing for some people, but ask questions and he will explain it until you get it. Go to class for sure if you want to understand his thinking when he writes his exam questions.
Dr. Metzgar is a great professor, very straightforward, and fair. 8 online open-book quizzes, 3 regular exams, and an optional final, and 3 homework assignments. Take this class!
He was nice at the end of the term he drops the lowest exam and also 4 clicker questions, and 2 hw grades. Class is easy take it you will be fine.
If you go to class and pay attention to his lectures, you should easily get a B. He does clicker questions every class for credit, so I would go to class. You have quizzes due every Sunday, 3 HW assignments for the whole semester, and the tests are just like the examples he gives in class and on quizzes. 10/10 recommend Professor Metzgar.
If you are bad at economics, take him! I was a low B Econ student but managed an A+ in his class. Go to class and fill out the notes (provided), you'll fine. Attendance through PollEV but easy. Tests are online w/ no lockdown. I actually liked this class. Economics is hard for me but his examples made it easy. Tests and weekly quizzes both not hard
The best professor for Managerial Economics at UNCC hands down. You do a lot of calculations and math related to supply and demand. But the math is not very difficult and he has very good practice exams that he posts the answers worked out in a video to canvas. All the exams are online and he drops the lowest of the 4 exams. Take Professor Metzgar!
Professor Metzgar is an awesome economics professor! He truly wants you to succeed and provides resources if you are struggling! He respects and listens to his students! I would highly recommend him!
Prof. Metzgar is the best. You can tell he puts a lot of effort into making the concepts easier to understand and gives plenty of examples. Just go to class and you'll pass!
Easy class no lockdown browser will need to study for tests but he is a easy test maker exactly like reviews.
Clear grading criteria. He really cares about his students and is always available if you have questions. Polleverywhere in class but as long as you go to class, you'll do well on all the exams.
Of all the teachers I had this semester, I enjoyed him the most. His classes were entertaining and you can tell he really cares about his students. If you come to class every day and do your work it is an easy A.
Exams are worth 75% of your grade in this class, so STUDY and be prepared. Attendance (PollEverywhere) points for every class, but they are worth pretty much nothing. Zoom option available for Mondays. Very kind professor who cares about his students and is very passionate about his lectures. Drops the lowest exam grade, and final exam is optional.
This professor is always on his phone and will answer you in like 2 minutes. The class is confusing because I don't think he's the best teacher, but he's the sweetest guy and seems to genuinely care about you. He loves poll everywhere too much.
This professor sets his class up well. One day is zoom or in-person and is material, the next is in-person group poll everywhere questions with practice problems. The use of examples helps you pick up the material well. However, his tests are worth so much or your grade and they have few questions. He is a good professor but grading isn't great.
Professor Metzgar is very nice and caring. Class was zoom-optional on Mondays and Wednesdays were in person with group games on Poll Everywhere. Also, the class required some easy textbook quizzes. However, exams take up 75% of your grade so be aware of that. Overall, he is a great and passionate professor. Just come to class and you will pass.
I don't like his concept of having groups and playing games. I wished he focused more on just lecturing and making us do individual study examples. The exams were similar to his study guides. Quizzes and homework is simple and easy. A great guy. If you're decent and good at math, don't worry but if you're not, you would need a lot more help in here
Out of all my professors that I had for the Fall 2022, Professor Metzgar was probably my favorite. Be warned that 75% of grade may be made up by tests. Fortunately, the tests are open note and you can have one of your test grades dropped at the end of the semester. He explains the topics very clearly and in-depth both in person and online.
Kindest professor I have ever had. He cares about his students and cares about whether they are enjoying his class. Reading the textbook is extremely helpful and he does many practice problems. All exams were on canvas, no lockdown browser. The final was optional if we were satisfied with out grade without the final.
Loved how Monday lectures were in a hybrid format. Tests are online but they are still incredibly difficult, make sure to study (just the study guide still might not be enough, but tbf I suck at math)! He's a chill guy and I'm glad I waited to take ECON 3125 to have him as my prof.
Prof. Metzger is the standard for which others should attempt to match, he lays the course out plainly and tells one exactly what is expected of them. His online econ 3125 courses was extremely easy; however, if you do not have a firm understanding of calculus, I can imagine it to be more difficult. Get ready to read and practice!
Easy as ****
Super easy
Really chill professor. You can go in person or on zoom, but the poll everywheres count for attendance. I would definitely take again, this class doesn't take a burden on you.
Professor Metzgar offers in-person & Zoom class meetings. He keeps students engaged occasionally with his dad humor & he's genuinely nice. He grades attendance by participation in PollEverywhere. There'll be a lot of hw & quizzes. The exams are tough but not proctored, & he gives practice questions that are similar to his exams. Final is optional.
Great professor. He really cares about the students and it shows. Great lecturer, not too boring and pretty funny guy. Sometimes tells good stories. class is taught well, all assignments are online, class is both in person or on zoom, there are poll everywhere questions throughout the class which go down as a participation grade.
exams are open note and 25 questions but some questions take a while to complete. they are also free response so be very careful when entering your answers. the answer you enter is what will be graded, if you miss rounding up or a negative sign it will still be wrong , weekly quizzes with 2 attempts.
I would recommend Dr. Metzgar to anyone taking his courses! He lectures in class but also has videos posted on Canvas in case one wants to review the material before or after class. The exams follow what is presented in class, and I suggest completing the practice exams because they are very similar to the exams.
STUDY THE PRACTICE EXAMS. Your exams are worth 75% of your grade and luckily they are online and open note. So if you just study those practice exams heavy, you'll be straight. It is a hybrid class so he offers the class both in-person and on zoom. Take him if you can but just keep in mind if you want an A in this class you have to work for it.
He is approachable and extremely knowledgeable about the subject. Sometimes he will randomly call on people in class and it can be annoying if you don't like that kind of thing. The class has an in-person and Zoom option. If you don't understand what he is teaching he is always happy to elaborate.
Prof. Metzgar, is an excellent instructor. He knows well the course material and is very approachable. Utilize the clicker notes, & videos to prepare in ADVANCE for the chapter material. Additionally, he provides EXAMS REVIEWS PRACTICE, take advantage of these because for sure you will see them for the exams. The BEST Prof. of ECON 3125.!!
I loved this class because you were able to choose if you wanted to go in person or do the class on zoom. Homework were not difficult and neither was the test. There is a poll everywhere question every class that can hurt your grade if you get a question wrong.
The tests are weighted highly but it's online and he drops your lowest test grade along with a bunch of stuff. Simply the goat.
Took his summer econ 3125 course. You have 3 exams worth 75% of your grade, but Prof. Metzgar doesn't use a lockdown browser if you take his class online. Fair warning you still need to know basic calculations since not all answers are online, but you should be able to pass with an easy A. He's really nice, 10/10 professor!
He was a great professor. He gave our class the option for zoom or to be in class. There are poll questions every class but the lowest 4 get dropped. Chapter quizzes online, tests online, 3 homework assignments before each test. Lowest test and quiz is also dropped. I would take him if you can!
Highly recommend. You have a zoom option for lectures or in-person. All tests are online and directly related to material discussed in class. He made this an easy course to succeed in and shows great care for his students.
Prof. Metzgar's class is a great option, with online and in-person options. Exams are challenging but doable if you utilize the practice materials and Unstuck ai for study prep. Overall, an engaging and manageable course.
As I am sitting here in the second lecture of the semester, prof metzgar has already explained derivatives better than my calc professor and demand curves better than both my Econ professors. If you have trouble understanding things this is your guy. Everything is clearly laid out and seems like it will be smooth. I'll update this after the class.
Take this class. NO EXAMS, just 7 "quizzes" and 7 team tasks (can do solo after the first one) are you're entire grade. His instructions are very clear. Attendance is technically graded but it is lightly weighted. He is very accesible if you have questions. He actually teaches instead of reading off a power point. Incredible professor
Very knowledgeable and passionate professor. Very easy course. The group work is easy but sometimes you get trapped with the worst group members possible if you have nobody you know in the class. AI grades your quizzes too but it is only slightly flawed. Overall, very hard to do bad in this course.
Absolutely take this professor! He does not have any exams, which was nice. You have 7 quizzes (AI grades them) & 7 group tasks (TA grades them). Attendance is taken by PollEverywhere. He does have Zoom meetings if you don't want to go in person for class. Will answer any questions you have. 100% recommend!!
Professor Metzger understands the effect AI has had on learning within students and has changed his entire course to be AI-friendly. We do not have any tests in this class, but just bi-weekly projects and quizzes in the textbook to complete. Grading is easy and straight to the point; you should be good as long as you hit all the points!
Dr. Metzgar was a good professor with funny jokes and good real-life examples. No exams, and encourages AI use but not in totality of course. In-person attendance wasn't mandatory. The TAs grade the assignments and it's sometimes hard to get a high grade on them. Make sure you use both the rubric and the assignment guide to do the assignments.
Easy going Professor. Low stress course with minimal amounts of work.
He is so sweet! He offers a zoom option even when his class is in person, and is super responsive to emails.
i took ECON3125 online. He put us in small groups and we had a total of 8 team task to complete that was based on the chapter that we just read. Homework was easy if you read the chapter and use common sense. I honestly learned so much and we really put our knowledge to the test!
Real chill guy. The online course is straight forward and you take a few quizzes and just have group projects.
Had is class online zoom lectures and they were dreadfully boring but the class is so free its not even funny.
Easy A class. Genuinely wants to see his students succeed.
A class that is VERY heavy in group projects. In the first project, he will assign groups, but after that, you are free to make a group. He allows the use of AI to help with what employers want from students, so that is a great plus for him. The polls everywhere are for grades, so definitely do them! Great guy, easy grader, and funny during class.
