Matt is a very fun teacher. He makes the class interesting and tells stories and jokes a lot. He is very helpful and the tests are quite easy. He gives extra credit on all the tests and at the end of the class for perfect attendance (2-3%).

Cool guy. Answers questions thoroughly. Homework due everyday which I like, keeps you on track. Difficult homework problems are solved in class. Homework is part of your grade so it makes for an easy A and jumps your grade up. He makes sure your learn the material. I finished his class with 100%. He's also funny as heck with his stories and jokes.

Matt is the best math prof. I have had in ARC so far. He is young and energetic and loves teaching. He gives review sheet with an answer key ahead of time to study for the exam. Do the review sheet and find some similar problems in the book that shows on review to practice more. The problems on the exam are more easier than review.

He is an amazing teacher. As long as you keep up on your homework you should do well. HW is due almost every class, but you can make up homework all the way to the final. He is extremely available for questions. If you can't talk to him during his office hours you can email him. And he usually responds within a day! I recomend Matt to everyone.

The class is easy because he's a good teacher; very clear, willing to help, and is extremely patient. He gives review sheets which are harder than the exam, so when you take the exam it's easy. Young professor. What I can say is that he is an excellent TEACHER. He presents material in a way that makes it undertandable to nearly anyone. If you can't pass his statistics class, you aren't trying even a little. Average homework, easy tests.

Probably the best Teacher I've ever had. Made everything easily understandable. Was a little hard taking Pre-Cal in 6 weeks, just cause of the short period of time but I totally feel ready for Calculus after taking his class. The finals are cumulative but you get whatever formulas you get from previous tests. Definitely recommend taking him.

He really made me want to show up to class to learn. he applies everything to real life and could simplify everything if you need it. Online HW made it easier to learn. And he is DAMN funny. Matt is very nice and you can tell he knows what he's talking about. He is fair when it comes to due dates (homework is online) and gives you a review sheet before each test. Make sure to do the review sheet because test questions are very similar to questions on the review. 2% grade boost if you have perfect attendance.

Matt is an extremely cool guy who truly has a passion for teaching, which you can see in his lessons. He is very fair in his hw, study guides, and tests. It is Calc 2 so you have to work hard at it regardless, but i totally recommend this teacher for it. Shouldn't stack this class with other classes. I took this in 6 weeks with him and got an A!

He is the best math teacher I have ever had, very helpful, offers offices hours and extra time before class for homework questions. No textbook needed, only the use of Math XL. Great Teacher. One short hmwk assignment a week, due every wed, and one worksheet due every class session, that's it! Matt is very concise, makes the material easy to learn, and responds to emails usually within 10 mins. This is the first math class i've passed on my first try EVER. He just makes it easy.

Mitchell is the kind of teacher that every student should have at one point or another. I have never seen an entire classroom of students light up over a core class until his. Making math interesting is not an easy task for even the most experienced teachers. Students love him and are getting grades they probably didn't know they were capable of

All my life I've hated math...until I had Prof. Mitchell. He is AMAZING and he is so clear in his teaching that I found it so easy to understand and enjoy! That's a first for me. Not a big fan of math before I took this class but Mitchell showed me the light. We had five exams and the final, which isn't weighted as much as the five exams. If you attend every single class, he gives you a 2% boost.

AWESOME guy. My first professor at ARC. Took him for math 370 over summer. 5 days a week, over 3 hours a day. He somehow made the class bearable. Made it fun and engaging. Always cracked jokes once in a while. I definitely recommend him

I failed his final and ended up failing his class but thats only my fault besides that professor Mitchell is the greatest math teacher ever he was always their to help and he wants you to succeed i had a class an hour before his and i saw him come in everyday to help any students with questions or for tutoring he never missed one day of class.

If you have issues with Math, then take Matt's 120 class, because he is one of the BEST at explaining. He's hilarious, and easy-going. You do have to put effort into his class. I love to be his student. There are 5exams, and take home quizzes. But u can ask him everything about the quiz before u turn in. He also lets u loan the TI84 for free. The final is cumulative, but it is so basic. He doesn't allow any notes, and he gives his own note because he doesn't want u to cheat on the exam. I am so thankful to be his student.

I really wish I could take him for the remaining courses needed for my Math A.S.

Matt truly wants his students to understand math. He explains everything step by step, and even digs deeper and tells you the history of it. I recommend taking notes of everything he writes up there. Went through two notebooks but its helpful on the homework. Tests are easy:) Has patience if u have difficulty. Much respect for him.

Matt is such a great professor, he takes the time to make sure everybody in the class has understood the problems being worked out. I took his class twice and both times he was an amazing teacher and person, I strongly recommend him.

I seriously had a bad experience with a previous Math professor last semester. I dreaded the word problems, the graphing, everything. Once I sat in class on my 1st day I was already thinking I'm going to fail this class. I was so wrong. He will guide you all the way to the end of the lecture and his goal is for you to do well in his class.

GREAT teacher. Very helpful if you have questions, and very fair to everyone. I am not a math person and was scared to take Pre Calc, but he made it so much more enjoyable than I thought it could be. Matt is honestly the coolest teacher I have ever had, he always has a smile on when you walk in, he basically gives you the perfect review sheets for every test, always answers your questions to the fullest, take home quizzes,easy class if you attend because if you miss a few classes you'll miss a few chapters and it sucks to be behind in his class

I have failed this class twice at SFSU and once at American River and I passed with complete ease with this professor. He is a really gifted teacher. Anyone can get math taking this professor. Take him if at all possible. You will pass and he will make you feel like you actually get math!

Professor Mitchell is excellent. He has a way of explaining math so that everyone gets it, and if you don't get it, he will patiently explain until you do. If you have had trouble with math in the past, you should consider this professor. In this class, there wasn't a book, we just needed access to mathxl.

He's also very helpful and willing to explain anything that you don't understand.. even the basic stuff. Suggestion: Take his class M - Th if it's offered.

Go to class, take notes, ask questions if any I never had to he gives clear lectures with great examples. Didn't need the book because I wrote everything he put on the board down in my notes. This Guy Is a BOSS! He is young and has outstanding social skills witch means he can easily get along with you. He understands people in there 20's. He's Examples are Interesting, his Voice is Direct and Loud! He really grabs your attention and you remember his anthologies. His only flaw is the multiple choice accumulative final exam (DIFFICULT)

Honestly the best professor I have ever had! I never thought I'd love statistics! He's very approachable for help and really wants you to learn.

He is amazing. His lectures are structured and clear. If you do the homework and understand the concepts, it is easy. On the one test that not everyone did well on, he created a supplement for students to earn back their grade and make sure they understood the concepts. He makes time for the students. Textbook is cheaper & online (as is homework).

Math is not my strongest subject, but I got an A in his class because he makes stats relatable and makes sure you understand the lessons before moving on. Always has funny stories, makes the class fun. Loves poker, so several lessons will relate to cards, which is easy to grasp. Approachable and makes stats less intimidating.

He gives really thought tests and is a tough grader. But I felt I really learned Calculus, and I'm finding Calculus II to be somewhat easy now.

I worked for Prof Matt 4 years as beacon tutor, and I decide to leave this positive feedback for him bc he deserves it. Matt puts thought and time into his lectures. He is fantastic at referencing previous concepts that relate to a new one. If you need him to clarify things you've forgotten, he'll help with that too. Calculus one was a very rigorous class, but I felt a learned a lot and was prepared for future math classes. I found Calculus 2 to be pretty easy after his class. i just wish he tough Calc III and DE.

I'm horrible at math, and I took the only twice a week class. I failed Matt's class, particularly because the book isnt required so it's hard to get and very expensive. The homework is online, and he gives you the hardest problems to learn and practice. If you aren't good at math, even with his high rating, take more than 2 days a week.

I havent passed a math class since my sophomore year of high school, until I took this class. He makes sure everyone is always on the same page, responds to emails very quick and gives extra credit. Hes also really funny and makes math less horrible than it needs to be. I would 10/10 take another one of his classes.

I just passed Math 120 with a 95% because he is such an amazing teacher. The way he teaches makes everything clear and understandable to someone who hasn't taken a math class in 3 years. You can really tell that he puts his whole heart into teaching his classes and I have only positive comments to make about this class and how he taught it.

Since the whole Coronavirus situation, we didn't have a lot of time together in class. In-person classes were interesting and he taught the criteria very well. He mentioned Chipotle and Poker a lot which was quite funny. I loved being in the class, one of the best professors I've had!

I have had a lot of bad experiences with math and someone who generally struggles with math I would for surely recommend this professor. He will always allow you to reach out to him and replies fast. I took him spring 2020 and we had to transition to online and he was really helpful while being online. We did zoom meetings and he taught really well. He goes over materiel really well. He has 5 exams, a take home quiz for each chapter (12) some where combined, and a final. He is a really great professor and I recommend for everyone.

Actually he tired to help to Understand lecture the way you want, but if you think hes too easy you going to end up with D I promise you get it study and take a good notes dont use your phone in class and pay attention for class. What can I say I deeply hate math, but Matt actually made it fun lectures can be a bit long roughly an hour to 1:30hr via YouTube. Get the textbook. He goes in depth with all the chapters for stats lecture videos. Sometimes he does take a while to get to the point during the lecture. You do have a solid amount of homework to do for each section with MyMathLab. Overall, if you watch his lectures and do the hw, you will get a good grade. He doesn't have any surprises during exams+quizzes.

Prof Mitchell is the NICEST teacher Ive ever had. So interactive, responds fast, and is very good at being one on one during office hours and Stat Support. When i was struggling to pass/failing he reached out to me and told me that I wasnt going to be able to pass and that that was ok, and was very kind about withdrawing. Would take again!

Professor Mitchell has some of the best online lectures I have had. There are homework assignments every Wednesday and Sunday. I easily could have had an A, I just did not always do the homework. With that said, watch lectures, do the homework and the quizzes/tests will be easy as well as a good grade. Great Teacher!!

Matthew Mitchell is so caring about his students. There are lectures but he gives print outs so you can follow along and do the work as if you were in the typical classroom. His communication with his students is amazing. Theres an announcement he gives each week and there is always a positive comment he is making. Statistics is hard but he helps.

The Ted Lasso of Stats! The class is a challenge. Matt held office hours and was responsive to emails. He teaches well aware that stats 300 is a class with academic diversity not exclusively stats and math majors. He makes the content approachable by using humor and ties each of the units together in a way that seems intuitive. Go with Matt.

The coursework for this class was well organized and thoughtful, and Professor Mitchell's lecturing style feels well suited to all levels of learning. He brings a real world approach to each lesson as well as some humor. I'd highly recommend this class to students of all math skill levels!

He is a great guy. He wants the best for you. He is very understanding. All the lectures are easy and very understandable. He is awesome and he is very patient with his students. Give this man the credit that he deserves!!!

I really don't think this class/subject/professor is tough. It's just that this class require lots of studying time. And when someone work full time, it may be difficult to find time to study. Other than that, professor is great and replies to email accordingly. Just wish there were other ways to grade students besides taking tests.

I was nervous to take stats but his lectures were EXTREMELY helpful, he explains things very clearly and simply. There are no surprises on exams and quizzes, they are all easily passable if you have done the homework and watched the lectures. He responds to emails and grades exams quickly. I really enjoyed taking his class, would 1000% recommend!

Definitely was nervous about taking STATS online BUT, Must say that Professor put the concepts regarding the chapters in much simpler terms than expected. He responds to emails SO FAST! He allows 5 attempts on quizzes, & allow unlimited attempts on homework until its due, BUT not on exams. The only downfall is he doesn't offer much extra credit.

This prof is the BEST one you could take for stats if asynchronous works for you. His lectures are clear & he provides lecture notes to fill out. The homework really supplements your learning, and quizzes/exams are straightforward if you do the work expected. Prof is accessible, funny, and considerate. 2x speed on lectures does the trick.

Professor Mitchell was the perfect asynchronous online class instructor ever. He was extremely available and responsive to questions and concerns. His lectures were awesome and easy to understand. His passion for math came through every lecture. The homework and exams and tests were all very reasonable.

Professor Mitchell is AWESOME!! I had some math-related trauma as a child (if you've had parents/step-parents with anger issues u might relate) so I've always hated & been horrible at math. Was put in "slow" math classes 2x. ENTER PROF MITCHELL! He makes math make sense to my brain. If u suck at math but need to get that GE covered, he's ur guy!

He's a great professor! He makes everything easy to understand and is there as a resource if you need more help. He wants you to learn and succeed. He has lectures online just in case you miss a class or didn't understand the in class lecture, but I recommend going to the in class lectures.

He is a great communicator. Clear lectures, timely email responses, very caring about students. It is Stats, so you are going to have to pay attention to his lectures and do the work, but if you do, you should be able to pass. Keeps his online lectures interesting with his explanations and stories/examples.

I took his 8-week asynchronous course and actually enjoyed the learning process. Matt's lectures are entertaining & perfectly paced so you can speed them up to 2x. Print your lecture notes!! They are super useful. If you have *any* questions, Matt is quick and friendly in his responses and truly wants his students to succeed.

Really understanding and accommodating professor. Kept his word about late adding me to his class a few months before.

The professor makes stats engaging with his clear lectures and helpful explanations. While the workload is heavy, using unstuckstudy ai and focusing in class can really pay off. Take this course if you want a challenge but a rewarding learning experience.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Math has always been very intimidating for me and this professor makes everything approachable and relevant. The workload is appropriate and it always feels worth the time spent. If you watch the lectures actively you will pass this class. I would absolutely take Prof Mitchell again for any math class!

He makes sure that everyone clearly understands class material. I have no words to describe how helpful he is, trust me and take his class you will not regret it. Quizzes and Pearson assignments prepare you to the midterms and he is very accessible to reach outside class. The topics he covers are math we will use in real life and interesting

I struggle with math, but did well in his course. Excellent lectures and notes to fill out. He responded promptly to emails. After doing poorly on one exam, he took the time to explain what I missed, so I would know it for the final. Be prepared for a comprehensive final, and keep all of your notes for each chapter.

Matt Mitchell is great! Even if you're not great at math, you'll do well since everything is just as he explains in the lecture. There are no curveballs, no weirdly worded questions, and if you do have an issue he responds super fast. Even responded while he was on a run. I'd recommend just doing things on time and you'll succeed.

Matt is literally the best professor I've had in my entire life. I took online class and thought it would be a disaster as other ones, but no. His lectures are awesome. He explains everything really good and detailed. He's always ready to help you. He replies really fast.

Matt is an excellent professor. He really cares about his students passing his class, and he does everything he can to help them learn. Math is a struggle for me, and I ended up with a B in this class. I would recommend him to anyone that needs to take a math class.

Everything is laid out super clear. Challenging course, but one of my fav professors I've taken as a bus major. Lect videos were extremely helpful and interesting! Lots to learn and workload to keep up with, but well worth it in the end. You'll need a TI84 calc and printed out lect notes. Would recommend Matt, and you'll earn an A if you trust it!

I'm not a fan of stats, but this class was very doable. Notes are mainly done for you so you just have to follow along with the lecture videos. Homework is helpful and exams are predicable. Prof. Mitchell is open to questions and wants you to succeed. If you watch the lectures, do the homework, and study, a good grade is very attainable.

I have set criteria for rating professors, and Mitchell is an easy 5 star. Passionate about mathematics AND about being an excellent instructor. Dedicated to helping every student succeed. Excellent lectures, well planned curriculum. Recommend for both those reaching for higher math goals and those that might struggle with it. Truly 5 star.

Good professor, material does not stick at all. Every class is something different, and you're not given enough time or information to understand anything.

If you have to take a stats class, take prof Mitchell! I took the class online, he would respond super quickly to any questions and answered them well. He also really wants his students to succeed and it shows! Best math class experience.
