if u could stand a bunch of chicks giggling non-stop w/o needing to throw up you're good to go...
He's cool, and real fun. All you have to do is read the book.
Prof. Puglisi is awesome and extremely helpful. He helps you understand difficult material by using examples that students can relate to, and is willing to provide his own time to help students.. I highly recommend him for any philosophy class.
A funny man who knows his topic and anything topic-related. Students tend to over exaggerate how "cool" he is, yet hes still one of the best teachers I had this year.

A multi-talented kind of guy who sees connections between philosophy, contact juggling, close-up magic, ethics, and consciousness. The best teacher of philosophy, IMHO.
Awesome teacher. Very bright and helpful...makes learning about philio fun....take him and you won't regret it.
too slow, allows too many questions, it goes nowhere. if you cant figure out that astrology and UFOs and holocaust deniers and magic are all a load of crap by yourself, take his class, otherwise dont. he curses to be cool, most ppl like that. has an ipod.
He's smart and but uses mock humor to make himself seem funny! There's nothing funny about this loser. And he should get a grip, stop the repetativness and just go about the lesson as planned.
He is cool but does not know jack about the Jewish faith. This class is not for Jewish people. Let Christians take this course.
Definite hottie! He knows his stuff and its so interesting! And about the Jewish faith, he does kno what he's talking about so get over it! Awesome class!
he is a good professor but i wouldnt recomend him for phil 116 since its a very hard course.
Wow where to begin? The course requires HOURS of work a night, extrememly hard, he makes you feel like an idiot if you dont phrase your questions correctly during class, he's a pompous jerk who thinks he's cool... REALITY CHECK is very necessary.
His class was very interesting, he cursed too much, made many jokes, talked too much about how cool he is and all that. He has a huge ego and it doesn't help that most of the girls in that class would massage it.
he is the best. had lots of fun and laughs. very interesting class.

Matt sucks. way to much work, and his class run like a high school class. He is arragant, but yet funny at times. his classes are intresting, but this is NOT an easy class. very hard, somebody should give this guy a reality check,Dont Take hin!!!!
TAKE MY ADVICE: DON'T TAKE 109 WITH HIM. THE WORK IS TERRIBLE AND THE FINAL AND THE MIDTERM ARE REALLY REALLY HARD! I REGRET TAKING HIS CLASS
No Comments
he is a pretty funny teacher and the arrogance doesnt really bother me. what did bother me was that he rambled on for 3 months to teach the easy stuff and then barely taught the hard stuff but gave a lot of homework on it and a hard final.
the material is interesting but more than half the class is a disclaimer and he repeats lectures over and over. every class was just a review of the reading assigned the class before but since no one does it there are a million pointless questions. easy A
Pugilisi's class is the easiest course you could take. All the guy does is literally take your textbook (that you should have read every night) and recite it in class. If you even bothered to read, the class should be easy.
he is a very talented individial. knows a lot. at times he tends to thnik quite highly of himself. the class is easy if u do all the reading. the tests are in essay form and he likes to see details.
Everyone told me to take this class its an easy A it really wasnt you had to read alot and only had midterm final but it was in esay form and would ask you the most random queshtions. his a cool teacher cause he is young and curses thats about it
he's really nice and funny but his class is hard and so are the final and midterms.
Very good teacher. Arrogant, but deserved, as he is very intelligent. If you'll do the readings every other night, the class is very easy and you will learn alot. If your not interested in be challenged at all in college, then stick to urban studies lol..
HORIBBLE PROFESSOR AND VERY ARROGANT DIDN'T LIKE HIS CLASS AT ALL, IT WAS A BORE
He asks alot of things that u would never even think to look at for a test(ex. like on what page was this found)and god only knows ifu could remember. You'll pass his class no sweat, if u read what he says, and look for everything not obvious to the eye.
HE IS AWESOME! Very interesting and intelligent. You have to read the material and really know it to do well on tests.
First off, whoever gave him a hotness rating (aka a chili) was out of their mind. He's ugly as my ***. He thinks he's cool when he's such a loser, he's arrogant, not helpful, and so vile. He is disgusting and very unrefined. AVOID!
Cool Cat!! Smart young kid, with a lot to say. He was passionate about his subject. His teaching style is a bit orthodox, yet got the job done. He must be funny otherwise one would fall asleep in Phil 104. Likes to be on charge and dislikes challenges.
nice, but hard as fu*k, if u mess up on his midterm, den wish for the best cuz his test are confusing, i got stuck with a D
so not hot at all. He's kinda annoying b/c he curses every other word, and he's pretty vulgar at times. He can make the material interesting, but the cursing really ruins it. Oh yea, and he does magic part time. Enough said?
excellent, excellent professor! young, but knows his stuff well and can really teach. material was quite interesting when he would expound the concepts. a couple of quizes to make sure you're reading, two papers, midterm and final. easy stuff if you keep up. highly recommended.
I do not recommend this so called "professor" to my worst enemy. He is extremely arrogant and vulgar. He would like to believe that he is intelligent but he is obviously over compensating for the many things he lacks in his life. He is not helpful and he runs the class like a tyrant. HORRIBBLE !
STAY AWAY from this Professor! Horrible! I have 3.867 Average take it from me he cannot teach and he is an arrogant, "know it all" want to be! He grades unfairly and he is way Too vulgar! Queens College should FIRE him. He should be banned from teaching everywhere!!!! Save Yourself!!!
Have taken two classes with him, would like to take more. Refreshing philosophy instructor, rather young (30, at most), but very bright. Good amount of work to be done in his classes, but rewarding. Does use foul language at times. Is fair as he is strict.
this guy is very interesting and expects you to do your work and read the chapters that he assigns. leads good class lectures, curses alot and sometimes shows magic tricks. He is not an easy A. but you can definitely get one if you work hard.
pretty amazing how he knows so much for someone so young. its a lil hard bc midterm & final are basically just essays ... a lot of memorazation involved, but he gives you every possible chance of doing better with his extra credit ... if ur willing to actually work hard then it could be an easy A.
he is very interesting and informative. i swear he knows everything. his class is not an easy A, expect to do work.
Okay, NEVER say "Easy A." Just.. Don't. No such thing here. However, if you really want to get something from the course, there is no better course to take. You're ungodly lucky to have him as a professor. Work hard, ask questions, and you'll reap so much reward, it's not even funny. Enjoy.
This class is no where NEAR an easy A. His tests require a lot of studying b/c they in essay form and he expects his students to have no life and memorize the books just b/c he has no life! Avoid him if ur looking for an easy A

He is beautiful, amazing, and charismatic and I want to spend the rest of my life making sweet love to him. He makes the extremely boring material rather interesting with his made up anecdotes, and if you're bored as hell, just stare at him and you'll have no problem staying awake.
he is an amazingly talented magician.he is very smart but if u r looking to get an A u will have to work really hard at it.He only gives 2 exams,1 xtra credit project and many quizes in btwn and not only that but he gives u the essay questions b4 the test. its the topics dat r boring, not Matt
HE SUCKS!!!!!!!

Great guy, you can really learn some stuff...Very helpful and insightful.....But don't expect an "A" without some hardwork...take his class to learn and have some fun......
Not an easy A, but your a lucky student if you get him. If your not interested in learning, don't take him. If you appreciate intelligence and are intelligent yourself, these will be amazing classes. Anyone who complains didn't want to do work and it wasting time in college its not high school.
He was definitely the best teacher I've had at QC. I wasn't that interested in the class espeically since it was on a Saturday but he made it very interesting and I learned a lot in the class. The midterm and final were pretty easy, essay questions and he gives you the questions before the exam, you just have to read and memorize a lot.
Great looks but is he aq great guy? Most people say yes and I agree. Class was not at all boring. If you're the type of person that easily is bored just look at the face.
the most interesting phil class out there. fight club, american psycho, and a clockwork orange. what more do i have to say. mixes in the philosophy part of the course very well, nothing too heavy or confusing. a bit light on the philosophical issues but nothing much to complain about. 3 papers, 3 journals, no midterm, no final.

He's great.
Awsome.
He is the best teacher I have ever seen. The exam and the review are the same.
very hard grader. It's un useful class, Everything he wants to be perfect in phi. so bad.

very helpful professor
This professor seems unexperienced, and does not come to class prepared. His lectures are too wordy and too elaborate for anyone to understand, especially in a intro class.
he gives a great lecture makes you very interested in PHIL however he is without a doubt the WORST grader in queens. he expects you to literally memorize both books if your answers are right they arent correct unless you use the words that he wants. not to mention he doesnt care about students. this is the worst grade i got in 3 semesters. he sucks
He is the best professor I ever had. he gives you a very clear idea what's gonna be on the exams. He helps to study for the exams. Gives study questions two weeks before midterm and four weeks before final.
i got straight A's this semester except for this class, i got a C. its not me its him, he is the worst!! he thinks that the students are taking 101 for an easy A so he grades as hard as possible, and gives a #@$load of reading. if you like getting C's and memorizing 2 complete books then i highly recommend this class, if not then stay away.
i think he might be one of the most increble thinker in queens college. the class is incredible as far as wat u learn.his test are difficullt but he gives pretty good grades. anyone who has him always trys to get into his class again so i really would take this guy. he is simply an incredible proffesor.trust me. just do the reading.
It's a lot. :-(
the best!!!
don't take him.
Coolest teacher ever. You will fail if you take him.
pretentious and cocky... avoid.
Great teacher!
Great professor, will go out of his way to help students, but the material is hard as hell. Good luck.
The people are right. Take him if you want to fail. In order to do well in his class, you can only take 1 or 2 classes max. You have to memorize the whole booK in order to do well on his tests. There are no discussions, just lectures- He's not very helpful and seems impatient when we ask questions. Take him at your own risk.
I came 2 QC b/c of the good rep the prof's had 4 encouraging independant thought. The requirements 4 passing class were memorizing entire book, & his way of "teaching" is repeating what HE had memorized. If I wanted 2 recieve a grade on how well I memorized & regurgitated, I'd have gone to NYU. & did I mention that he's a F-ing magician?! WTF?
Very very smart proF and veryy funny. NOtes are not worth taking but you really have to study hard for his exams but its worth it...very good class
he doesnt not care about the students at all. he has to get in his info (which he just spits back the book to you) and like someone else said it doesnt enjoy answering questions. im a B+, A- student and i got a C in this class. he will not help you out. unless of course you want to write a 18 page extra credit assignment which barely helps.
difficult class ... but great professor.he will explain everything clearly and is always willing to help before or after class. if you're not afraid of a little hard work and are interested in the material i highly recommend him. there's no other professor out there like him!
Not very helpful and not very nice to those who don't do well in his class. He tries to be cool when you request to sit down and chat with him but he almost bit my head off when I asked if I needed a bibliography for an extra credit paper. The difficulty level fits an upper level course, but it's an INTRO class ! Sheesh!
HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE NOW* 2x/week. Casual classroom atmosphere* Effective vulgarity* LIVELY personality. Helpful, clear, concise. Knows how to engage interesting discussions. Seamlessly incorporates text material. TELLS YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW* Readings (20-35 at most per night) Do ALL* HW & STUDY> ace exams. W/TRACK, got A. THE BEST.
matt is the best you need to study and if your stupid dont take his class. he should teach at a better school but hes stuck at qc w/ most of you morons. if your a smart person, like me, take him. if your a moron, then dont. its that simple.
Very young and super liberal college professor teaches a multiethnic classroom full of republicans! Will they be able to overcome their differences in the name of academia? Coming soon on UPN 9!
Never covered what was on his tests. He gives difficult exams. When I took the his class he was teaching a graduates corse at Hofstra I think he was making his job easier and he was using the same material for a Philosophy 101 corse. Hes disrespectfull and rude. He never explains what is required. stay away from this professor. A nut job and a half
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!!
he's class is most boring one, he didnt know how to teach, it's better for him to teach magic than to teach philosophy, and he doesnt wants to help you with anything, it's bad afterall, you will end up with bad grade....
hes seems cool at first but dont let that fool u...even the smartest people will have a difficult time in his class...u think u know the answers on his tests but u dont unless you memorize the text...word for word...but of course if u care about philosophy u might just get a C-
The question of whether he is a good professor is not important, for philosophy is an utterly useless subject.
If your like working hard and getting a C take this class, i swear to you, i am usualy a straight A student and have A's in all of my other classes. In this class, the class i worked the hardest in, he gave me a C. Dont take it!
i took him 2 semesters ago and now looking to retake this class. he gave me a C which destroyed my GPA. he seems cool and fun off the bat but really he is the worst! hes very ****ed and stubborn. makes himself available but says the same thing he says in class. considers a C a pretty good grade. this guy will waste your money!! DO NOT TAKE HIM.
One can hardly believe this professor can keep talking for the entire course without stopping... ow my god! 1 Final paper + 1 extra credit paper and two exams. He was very clear on lecture but I guess the text was too hard.
He is a very great man. I love what he talks about in class, and he is very interesting. Very understanding man, who listens to you. He can be hard. Attendance is important
This guy can't teach, he's too full of himself and too arrogant.didn't like the material that he taught.wasn't a good class at all.
Not an easy class. The material can be difficult. Matt is an amazing lecturer and uses metaphor wisely. If you don't want to study hard, don't take the class. Otherwise, if you actually want to learn, enjoy. he will make you think. I loved this class.
Puglisi was my first college professor. Lucky me because this man's intellect is orgasmic. i sat in the front row and just soaked him in. I dont know how any intelligent woman will not be attracted to him! And not because this man is exquisitely hot (although you may think so once he's through with you) but because he's such an extraordinary person

I took his class last year, and I really enjoyed it. He really makes you think about philosophy and how it's relevant to our everyday lives. Lectures are captivating and energetic. The text is not easy, but this is college, you can easily adjust!!I highly recommend him!! It was a great learning experience, and he's a professor I'll always remember.
Matt is an entertaineer NOT an educator WEAK
if ur lazy, don't take his class and waste his time.i'm not going to lie,he's tough so take him seriously!very INSPIRING, funny & amazing lecturer. write down EVERYTHING* he says.even if you think it doesn't involves philosophy,it does.will make you think.DO THE WORK*, Participate!* and you should be fine....(side note- he's SO hot)
Worst professor I ever had. Very hard grader. Very arrogant and self centered. If you wanna learn about his prostitute friend astra then you should take his class and fail.

This guy cant teach at alllllll!
with this professor it is a hit or a miss. you either love him or hate him. there is absolutely NO gray. i personally loved him, he has such an extraordinary mind and makes you think. One of the best professors i have EVER had, but mannnny disagree. So take at you own risk.
It's tough to say with this guy. He's really smart, has some entertaining lectures, and is very approachable. However, he is also full of himself as mentioned by others. He recites most of his lectures from the book which is kinda lame. Take him if you want the challenge, but be warned, he's a tough grader...
My experience with Professor Puglisi was one of the best! He is an amazing and the most understanding teacher ever. He is always available to help you out. Although he is a hard grader, just do the readings and go to class. His lectures are really interesting, and he's a funny guy!
This guy really sucks. He makes philosophy so difficult and challenging. He actually gives quizzes and exams on the readings and expects you to know what the readings are talking about.doesnt write and does alot of role playing. He thinks he is so smart but cannot teach for his life. He is one of the worst if not the worst professor of phil ever.
he is a very good teacher, he keeps u interested with the material. the class is not easy but it is enjoyable. plus he makes the time pass quick and is really cool.
It was impossible to learn about Philosophy with the distraction of his discussions on being a magician, musician, & what shows he's playing. He may be smart, but he is not a teacher. He is sarcastic, narcissistic, and even wears heelies to class. Yes heelies! He skates from left to right while teaching, & shows off magic tricks. Bad at teaching!
If you can get past his self-absorbed, I'm the smartest guy in the world mentality, Prof. Puglisi isn't a bad teacher. The material was extremely boring, but that's just my opinion. Overall, I think he's a brilliant guy, he just needs to stop looking down at the rest of us from his high-chair.
Yes, how dare he want you to read and study and learn the material. Jeez, next teachers are going to want us to do well on tests and participate meaningfully. Prof. Puglisi can be insightful and incredibly helpful if you want him to be.
I found this class to be very interesting. His tests were pretty hard but as long as you study and READ you should do fine. He offered an extra credit assignment that i believe boosted my grade a lot. Over all, interesting class but graded pretty harsh.
Just MEMORIZE the textbook. He assigns hw that is due like a week or two later. He will tell you if there is a pop quiz he might give or a quiz. His tests are short answers and essays. 2 midterms< non cumulative. He is a cool teacher but like he says he is VERY detailed oriented. He does give extra credit though. His topics are very interesting!
He is an amazing teacher. Not "self absorbed" or undermining to his students. He IS a fair grader, you just have to work. You can't expect to be given a B for D worthy work. Study, pay attention, and have fun. I took this class three years ago and what I have learned there has helped me ever since.
Come to class and listen to him talk for an hour- u can bring a laptop and play games or text the whole class doesnt matter. All you gotta do is read the textbook and do the review sheet for tests and your fine. He is very detail oriented but this is college so get off your ass and read the textbook if you know thats what he grades u on
Professor Puglisi was definitely an interesting teacher. Philosophy itself...not so interesting. But somehow he manages to get the class's attention and keep it for the duration of the class. This class is no joke...ALOT of reading and tons of studying. Attendance is not mandatory. But it would be wise to attend...TRUST ME.
Amazing professor. Teaches the material in an interesting manner and makes the class enjoyable. Study the text book but actually understand the concepts. You will learn valuable information from this class that will be helpful later on. It's already helped me in many of my classes. Highly recommended.
Tricky material...can not slack off in this class. Read as required. A few classmates and I found him to be an unfair grader. Would only recommend to those who don't mind reading alot of dry material.
The class itself is very interesting, but don't take him if you want to learn about classic philosophy. The reading was heavy, but interesting. My main problem with him (besides his anal methods for grading essays) was that he missed the last two weeks of the semester but didn't cut anything off the final. Thanks, Professor! I love teaching myself!
Worst prof. i had ever had. He looks fine in the class but when it come to your final grade he will surprise you with a C or C-. He concel the clsses without informing the students on a Saturday morning at 9 am. He did it twice with our class on the days we were supposed to have quiz. NOT a good Professor at all. so run if you can.......
One of the best Professors I've ever taken at qc. Makes class interesting and entertaining. He is a very fair grader. He will tell you everthing that will be covered in the exam, which is only from the readings. He gives out review sheets and an extra credit.

I took his phil. class with College Now a couple years ago. Great professor! Fair grader, interesting lectures. Class participation is highly recommended because discussions are very interesting. However, this class is less of a study of classical philosophy than it is a critical reading course. Also, he graduated from my HS :)
This class was very interesting and fun, but don't be fooled by his chilled demeanor because when it comes to quizzes and tests he is pretty serious. He gives you sample questions and gives you an opportunity to email him your answers and then he tells you if they are adequate. He is very detail oriented which makes his tests hard to study for.
Dont be fooled by his chilled mood. Not such an easy class.
Honestly, it was one of the greatest classes i have ever attended. he uses the book ALOT but the books are extremely interesting and make philosophy much easier to understand. HIGHLY recommend his class.
He is funny, entertaining and a great professor. Spends extra time on a topic if people have questions and will even stop teaching to address your questions. He uses the book a lot but goes over everything. He is a great professor concerned more about his students rather than just teaching.
Over all, a nice class...must read book, and the whole thing! but it's really easy to understand and it's short. His quizes are actually hard cause he will ask for a great level of detail. But as long as u read the text and come to class, you will def get an A. The thing is the meterial is really understandable. He does not follow a religion which can get annoying, although he shows respect to all religions...
This guy is truly a great professor! He clearly has a lot of love for the subject he's teaching, and that makes the class a thousand times more enjoyable. You will learn a lot in his class, and he'll make it pretty easy for you to do that.
He is a great teacher. Sometimes he goes a bit fast, but overall he is very helpful and passionate about what he teaches.
Puglisi is by far one of the best teachers at queens college for philosophy, esp for this particular course. He will do anything possible to help you with the work. Grade is based largely on exams and effort you put into class, no papers. He has a great personality and can keep you interested even with something like logic. Highly recommend.
Very nice professor. The course material was not what I expected, but interesting. Most of the readings was hard to comprehend and I wish he would incorporate powerpoint slides in his lectures. Overall, he is a pretty lenient professor.
He's a good prof, 2 exams all written, material given, all you have to do is prepare a possible answers sheet to study from bc the questions are given prior so you know what to focus on... Just try to explain things on tests, however if you dnt do we'll on those there's an easy 5-7 pg extra credit paper from a chapter from book you can choose:)
I adored every class, as well as the exams which put everything he taught into perspective. I'd recommend the class to anyone, especially since my high school math professor recommended it to me.
He is very nice. 2 tests. Study sheet given. Gives a lot of examples to make sure students understand. I will definitely recommend him.
Good class - really interesting and he was really funny. There wasn't much homework except to read. There was a few quizzes and then the mid-term and the final. He gave a sheet of the possible questions beforehand which were on the final and mid-term. Also, he gave extra-credit to boost up our grades by two letter grades!
Professor Puglisi is an amazing teacher. His diverse knowledge is mind boggling. Be prepared to read and think about material everyday. Very detail oriented but very laid back. He clearly wants his students to understand the material. Very helpful and fair but you must work for your grade. I've taken two of his classes. Would take another.
If you are lazy and just want to pass Phil 160 this class is for you. Midterm and a final exam only. About three True and False questions, three multiple choice questions, three fill in the blank questions and about three essays. Extra credit assignment is joke. Dont do it if you are doing well in the class. It will not help you at all!
attendance mandatory, insightful.
Amazing Professor.
Great lectures, he gives extra credit, he doesn't force students to participate in class.
He's also a musician and magician. his lecture style is academic and occasional adult jokes. No ppt, doesn't write anything much on the board. 2 test 70% grade participation and attendance 30%. passing tip: memorize the test prep answers, show up in class. Con: he would not come to class and email u 1 hr prior. happened 3 times
He wanted you to succeed. Made class fun and informative. Came out with more than I came in with.
Amazing professor, super interesting lectures. Took his class a year ago an I am still under a very big impression. Loved it!
I took his summer class There was quizzes, midterm and final You need to go to class in order to get a full understanding of how he interrupts the reading so you can answer correctly The midterm was multiple choice, short answers and 3 essays The final was 8 essays You need to memorize the readings He is a great guy but this isn't an easy class.
He is a awesome guy. Besides being a professor he also does music and magic. It is a lot of reading but if you have any interest in philosophy thinking or the business word(if your taking phil160) than you will enjoy him. I hope to take him in the future , it was one of my favorite classes.
Overall his a nice and cool guy but when it comes to course your going to struggle. Most of his stuff is on the book he dosen't really give any notes and just talks through out his lecture. Honestly he gives quizzes which is so specific on the reading. His an nice guy but this is not an easy class especially if your taking philosophy 101. BEWARE!
Honestly, i really regret signing up for this class. Im really struggling and i shouldn't be especially for an intro to philosophy 101.
I really wished i dropped this class. This class is just to much work.
He's the most interesting person and professor I've ever met. He's very funny and has an interesting way of combining philosophy with real life. He doesn't care about attendance. Doesn't count quizzes either. Do very good in the midterm, because the final is take home and the extra credit is available. He posts all midterm questions months before.
Lectures are interesting, but are heavy (he can talk all period long). Exams are toughly graded, that much that if he feels like you could even get 0/100. Do the readings and pay attention to the lectures. Exams are all based on that. Attendance seems to be mandatory (at least as weekend classes concern). Take someone else if you can!
Hands down one of the best professor in Queens college! His lectures and the way he projects his message to students is amazing! I loved taking his class. Very nice.
I took him for Summer 6 week and had class Sunday from 9-4. He is really great. He gave midterm and final- he gave us the questions beforehand so make sure you do the readings and answer the questions. He also gave a 6-7 page EC paper. Really smart, good, a respected professor. Take him to actually learn something in college.
Really interesting and insightful; I learnt so much from the lectures and started applying philosophy in so many other classes outside of this one. It also helps to have no solid homework. Some might say that you could either get it or not get it, but he really breaks it down multiple times for you. I'd definitely take again! Very understanding.
This is not a typical philosophy class. It is mostly about why, what, and how questions should be asked. He expects students to retain a lot of the detail heavy readings. Very understanding and willing to work with students based on personal situations. Would highly recommend to almost anyone.
Great professor, especially if ethics is something new to you. Go to class his lectures give you everything you need!
Overall great professor! He is very straight forward with life scenarios that can help you understand business ethics in the best way. I had to write about 20 page essay but it was worth the knowledge. It's that knowledge you need to have to survive in the business world ethically.
Great professor! His papers arent too bad, most of it can be grabbed from the text provided. Be sure to be an active student and share in his philosophical discussions.
First of all, I just want to say he's not a bad dude. He's just an absolutely awful professor. DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES HE TEACHES. He assigns far too much homework. Over the course of one semester, he assigned approx 32 mini essays and a research paper. And that was a light course load for him! I want whatever he is smoking if he thinks that's okay
Matthew is an angel sent from heaven. A BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING. Those complaining about "too many essays" are just lazy. He assigned the midterm, final, and term paper on day 1. giving us Months to complete it. No extra HW or quizzes. Gave us all materials needed, not one dollar spent on books for his class. Great sense of humor and knowledgeable.
Anyone who thinks him being nice outweighs the 23 essay midterm is out of their mind. As someone who has a full time job + 4 other classes the workload is unrealistic. In total theres about 30 essays minimum. Horrible way to go about assignments for students. Not lazy just realistic, its way too much work. I enjoy his lectures but despise the hw
Book is so difficult to understand if you don,t understand what book is saying how are you supposed to write 40 pages essay. There should be exam as well. Not only writing.
Do not take this professor, you will regret it. 30 papers for a 100 level course. Give me a break. Stay away from this professor.
Professor assigns to many papers for 100 level course. Please avoid at all cost. Assigned about 30 papers.
Had to withdraw bc of all the workload that I put on myself during the semester, class was fun though. Assignments given the first day of class. Lots of reading and writing - works cited, grammar, etc. If you have to take this, do it during a semester you know you won't struggle, or won't betaking a lot of classes. Too much for a 100 level course.
He grades based on your effort. Do the work you will be far than ok. Don't complain about the workload if you try your best and answer every single question (the answers could be found from the book), you will indeed receive an A.
He seems nice. I cant really speak to his teaching style because I did not attend a single class, but I can say I will never take another Philosophy course again. If you read the text and watch the YT videos, you should be able to do the work. I wrote about 50-60 pages for all the assignments combined. If youre not a good writer, just dont
Three major writing assignments which requires a lot of detailed writing. It's possible to finish all three course work before the midterm due date or end of the session. If you have trouble with deadlines talk to the professor. It's really impossible to fail this class unless you put no effort. Plus this professor is really chill.
This class is the same format as 160; It's three major writing assignments that can be completed literally before the midterm deadline. Take 104 with this professor then take his 160 class next. You'll thank me later but you have to be committed to writing a lot. This class is relaxed
Terrible, terrible, terrible. I will be emailing the board at QC to tell them everything I went through with this professor. all I have to say! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!
The class was asynchronous, so we never met. There are 5 big papers needed to be written and they are pretty long. However, the answers are all in the textbook so it is not difficult. Each paper was around 6-7 pages, double spaced. You learn while writing these papers from reading the textbook. The textbooks are also free.
One of the best professors in QC. It was an asynchronous class, along with writing intensive. So you can expect to write a lot. Total of 5 papers. Very cool and lenient professor.
This professor is the worst I have ever taken. I am a bio major and I have taken very "hard" professors, but nothing compares to this man right here. I got an A because of a miracle. He made us do 32 essays, 32! Our grades were based on those essays and a pop quiz, which was very unfair. Luckily this was 1/2 of an online class.
he is such a hard professor. completely disorganized and not helpful at all. he assigns huge papers but doesn't tell you where to submit them. he says we can email him for help, well 4 emails later and I still never got a response back from him. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. biggest mistake I ever made.
This man is very funny and such a cartoon but he is a fun teacher. Too bad I only had him like for 5 weeks before he had to step out. His definitely the most interesting professor i had so far. However one disadvantage, Too much papers/Writing assignments. At least they're take-home but still too much.
If it is one thing i will tell you about this professor is that you will come out of this class with amazing knowledge, she is a wise and will teach you like lessons that will get you so far in life. His experiences and love for the topic is far beyond. for me grade does not matter but all students should have him at lease once in their lifetime.
Took this class online it was straightforward 4 writing assignments & one term paper. All readings, descriptions and due dates on BB. Assignments are extremely long requires a lot of reading as well does not respond to e-mails ever. Otherwise pretty easy A if you only do what he asks.
Its asynchronous with 4 assignments and a term paper. Its a lot of work but he is a lenient grader. I wrote like 50-60 pages. If you dedicate every week a certain amount of time, its really not that bad. I was glad I took this class instead of the other courses offered. If you don't mind writing, its definitely doable.
A lot of writing, but if you can get it done, you're good. Also, he's a funny guy.
No tests, no classes. Only 5/6 papers. Very time consuming, but I think he gives everyone an A. Just do the work!
Prof. Puglisi is fair and provides great feedback with instructions on how to improve your grade. Provides students with chances to resubmit papers. I would take his class again.
Professor Puglisi is knowledgeable, he teaches general philosophy first, which is ideal for those who never took a philosophy course prior. Show up, do the readings before class, and be willing to participate. The professor explains the concepts well, there are three papers, 10 pgs or so on average which I all did last minute and still did well.
He gives heavy lectures but gives everyone an A as long as you submit your papers and come to class if its in-person.
You can literally submit anything and get an A. If I had to do it over again, I would have put way less effort into this class.
The other reviews are correct: this professor is an easy grader but does assign A LOT of work. I took him during the spring and had to write several mini-papers and read a bunch of readings he assigned. While he is an easy A, it is very easy to fall behind because of the excessive amount of writing assignments he assigns. He grades for detail.
I withdrew from Prof. Puglisi's class midway through the semester. The content itself was not challenging, and the professor is approachable. However, I withdrew because I could not keep up with the assignments. You have to read a lot of text and watch recorded lecture videos. You must also be ready to write three 10-page papers. Solid choice.
Prof Puglisi is a very funny and charismatic professor His class consisted of three major writing assignments along with sporadic quizzes throughout the semester to insure you were keeping up with the readings. The day to day class was entirely lecture based. If you don't mind writing 20+ pages and keeping up with readings I would def recommend him
Puglisi's class has a lot of writing assignments, but he's an easy grader. Just stay on top of the readings and papers, and you'll likely get an A. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for managing the workload.
ASYNC class. Provides all the material and textbooks and makes you do very long writing assignments. There are 3 term papers and 1 final essay. Make sure you start early because they will take LONGER than you think. Takes very long to grade, try not to use AI, and try to keep everything your own words, but make sure to reference the material
