The most intelligent professor I have met at LaGuardia so far. Very knowledgeable and objective in politics and economics. He tries to make it easy for beginners to get a good grade. I find a conversation with him very stimulating!

Prof. Rockwood is a great teacher. He is extremely helpful and he wants you to pass. His papers are not extremely hard and if you do the required work you will pass. Highly Recommened!!

His "Perfect essays" he is pretty good. helpfull . understandable. his papers are practically a given. you read a lot of stories in class for Both ENG 101 & 102. i took him. Pretty much do your 3 or 4 papers for the term and you should be good to go. you can even re-write them to get a better grade. attendace is a mandatory but he wont stress you o

Polite, respect others and very calm teacher. If you take advantage of his kindness you will learn and earn the credits you are looking for. However, you have to work hard if you looking for an A .He was kind enough to give me an A in two of his classes and a letter of recommendation.

Prof Rock wood is engaging, intelligent and overall just a great guy. He is a great teacher to have especially if your just starting college for the 1st time.

SUPER EASY! Very heplful towards students. Even if u did bad on ur essay he'll tell if so write it over and he'll boost your grade! Nice gentleman and not boring at all! Especially if you love rollercoasters! lol

Rockwood is a genuine nice guy. Yes, he does love rollercoasters, but he's also a great teacher, and not just because I took 3 classes and I never got a grade lower than a A-. He looks to help you in any way to get to pass. If you fail his class, it's definitely not his fault. He likes to do group discussions as well. Highly recommend.

i think he is the best prof in English department. he always helps students to write the better essays. he doesn't like failing his students so if you fail his class, then you have real problem with writing your essay. highly recommended also for international students

He's okay teacher. He's very laid-back, and the class didnt require too much works. Just had to read few short stories everytime and 3 papers in total and a final. His gardes are pretty easy, however just dont expect an easy A.

Probably the smartest professor at LaGuardia. Nice guy and really interesting. Not too hard, but if you don't keep up you won't do well.

He is very understanding to student needs and weakness. Attend class, do your assignments and you sure to pass. He makes English a fun class. You will enjoy it, you will never want to miss a class. I did my H.S. out of U.S.; found his teaching the most analytical and precise of all. He teaches his class in a way that'll enrich everyone. He is very considerate and respects his students. There should be more professors like him. He grades his students based on their effort and the progress they show. He's also very open-minded. He's the best!

Very respectful and understanding professor. Fair grader. Nice choice of material, that benefits any student of any level/country of origin. His classes are both fun and informative. Encourages thinking. He won't penalize you for having an opinion which is different from his own (unfortunately, some professors do).

Professor Rockwood Rocks!! if you wanna learn to analyze literature then you must take this professor. he sincerely likes to teach, he gives grade based on what you understand not so much on grammar.. class preparedness is the key and keep up with the lecture. he is very helpful and wants every student to succeed. i strongly recommend him.

Professor Rockwood is a great Professor. His teaching methods is by far the best. You will definitely become a more confident reader and writer. He gives 3 essay assignments for take home and a midterm & final essay. He gives reading assignments for homework.

Matt is a great professor! he has a funny charismatic personality which makes learning fun. He allows late papers and do overs. Class participation is important. He usually finishes class early and doesn't give hard homework. Highly recommend taking his class.

His class is epic - because he isn't crazy about small details that power trippy teachers generally fuss over - his class is a pleasure to go to every night that I have him. He is super chill and that makes me want to work harder in his class. His topics are realistic and we have AMAzING class discussions!

It was a pleasure to take his class. We had 5 essays in total. 3 take home essays, 1 midterm, and 1 final. All of them were very easy topics. Prof. Rockwood is a very easy grader and we also had great class discussions. You won't regret taking his class.

Prof. Rockwood is an amazing person, I basically enjoy his class because he made it interesting. He has lot of knowledge and is very inspiring, I believe that he is one of the best prof in lagcc. His teaching is not only interesting but fun too, gives chance to everyone to speak. This class use to boost me up for my other science classes. :)

Professor Rockwood is the best! He sticks to his syllabus and is very organized. He's extremely fair. There's never a time where he doesn't stop to go further in depth if a student needs a better explanation of what is being covered. His lectures are great, and to make them more entertaining - he's very funny! I would definitely take him again.

This is one of the best professors you could take in LaGuardia. He'll do everything to try to give you a good grade, but it's up to you to actually do the work. I took him in the short session, and didn't think his class was difficult at all.

Prof. Rockwood is a wonderful teacher who tries his hardest to come across to the large variety of students he teaches. He is carefully attuned to the needs of who he is educating. He makes his classes interesting, with the selected readings along with his method using open discussion and group work. Take him if you want a good first semester!

Professor Rockwood was always willing to assist and acted with a sense of urgency on behalf of all of his students. He was always on time and worked well with us as students regarding deadlines. Most people work full time and attend school and maintain a family and he was respectful in every aspect. I am grateful to have had him as my professor.

Fairly easy class. A lot of group work so choose your seat carefully. He is very clear on what he wants on his papers. The work mainly comes from the textbook. No homework, just about 3 papers. Midterm and Final are 500 word in class essays, Starts the class off with a quote and we write in our journals which he checks at the end of the semester

One of the most humble, helpful and very approachable professor i ever found in Laguardia. His group work assignment and class discussion are very interesting, never get bored. i was never a English student, have to take this class as a part of course requirement, but i know feel like reading more literature. he never waste time. over all awesome!

Hes a great professor and his work is to the point. He goes through the subject matter THOROUGHLY!!! I feel like I learned a lot from his class and was definitely better able to analyze books and life a lot better.

Easy A if you do the work. Hes pretty flexible with deadlines for assignments within reason. All the readings are easy and quick but definitely a requirement if you want to pass this course. Loves to do group activities. Great way to make friends with your classmates. Would definitely take this class again.

Very cool and calm Professor! He was into science fiction when I took his class but it was interesting as we discussed all the material as a whole class. Do you work, flexible with deadlines, show up and itll be an easy A.

I took this class over the summer and had fun. Professor Rockwood made this class simple and interesting. We got to analyze classic films. I ended up getting an A on every paper.

This professor is amazing !! he cares about his students , gives time for them to complete their assignments even if it's past due . Excellent grader .

Matt is awesome. He only assigns 3 papers throughout the entire semester & theyre mostly based on excerpts in the textbook that have already been read in class. He doesnt put you down for asking questions like other profs do. All you have to do is show up & do decently in those 3 papers & thats it. My class only got 2 papers & the final.

assignments and research paper are given enough time to perform till the end of the semester. He gives enough time to review and very inspirational. If you finished your work he is a fair grader but no excuses. The best professor ever in LaGuardia Community College.

lenient with due dates, let's you rewrite anything under B. You have to read the stories he assigns in order to do the work. Mid-terms and final are based off of the stories you read for homework. You watch a movie at the end of the term and he finishes class early. If you write your research paper on a Clockwood orange he'll grade you more easy.

Come to class, be active in the discussions and you will pass with a good grade with ease. He is very lenient with due dates and the work load is very light.

A truly wonderful and inspiring class. Since this class, my brother thinks I started over-analyzing reading and film a little "too" much. I appreciate his enthusiasm and genuinely wish all professors were as inspiring and engaging as Professor Rockwood. Never a bad reading or a boring class. How is he even in LAGCC? True Gem.

Professor Rockwood is one of the best Professors in the college. His approach to the students is very respectful and kind. He makes the course very interesting and engaging. He made me fall in love with English literature which made the studying process much easier. Even after completing the course, I read every piece of literature on his website.

I had this professor for my first semester at LaGuardia, and really enjoyed him! He is a great teacher, who wants to help. As long as you show up and participate in the class, you will be fine. He is sort of funny too which helps with engagement.
