Mr. Simmons is a really great teacher, I am finishing up in his Intermediate Algebra class now and have already registered to take his College Algebra class this summer. Tries to show a little humor, makes some terrible math jokes but he's a total sweetheart. Clear, to the point lectures.

Fantastic teacher! Goes through the notes with the class and then offers one on one assistance when needed in the lab for the second half of class. Only 4 exams. Expectations are very clear. Nice guy. Taking for all of my Math courses.

He is an amazing teacher!! He teaches each chapter with a handout every class and offers one-on-one time after class in case we have questions or need help. All homework is online and easy to do after his lesson. I wish I could take him for all of my math classes!!

Professor Simmons is the BEST he cares about the students and he wants you to learn and understand the math. Returns email ASAP, always around for questions or in person help. Hiring him was the smartest thing FSCJ has ever done!!!

He is very friendly, instructions are clear, mathlab was important, quiz weekly, drops 2 lowest grade, if you show work graded per step so partial credit, if you dont show work, grade is all or nothing. 3 major exams worth 150 each, being in class is important, responds to email fast, over all really liked, grading can mess you up sometimes.

I thought I hated all math until I took Professor Simmons' class. Very clear and helpful lectures, he's obviously very excited about his subject! There's a bit of homework (MyMathLab + weekly overview quizzes) but it wasn't hard, even for me! Always organized and punctual. Will definitely be recommending Professor Simmons in the future.

He honestly cares and is a very nice person clear to understand with a fair grading system and makes the learning fun.

Professor Simmons is an amazing math teacher. I highly recommend this teacher. He's passionate about his job and wants you to succeed. Mr Simmons is always willing to help you if you need it. Attendance is a must. There are 11 quizzes and 4 test. You are allowed to use your notes for test. I've already signed up for his collage algebra class.

Prof. Simmons is one of the sweetest people in this world. This is an online course but he will be there for you and use many different multimedia resources to help. I never had an easy time learning math in my life and so far I've had a good time doing the assignments for this class. He is caring and will work with you to get the best results.

There was very little coursework: a few online worksheets due every other week, one 30 question online homework for each chapter, then one quiz per chapter. He allows multiple attempts on quizzes, homework & even the mid-term & final. I could tell he wanted us to learn but also to succeed & pass his class.

Math is my least favorite subject but Professor Simmons was very organized and made it as simple to understand as possible. All homework, quizzes, and exams are online so you can use your notes. However, I still studied homework and quizzes prior to each exam. As the course progressed, it seemed to get harder but I was still able to get an A.

Professor Simmons is such an asset to FSCJ! He has a unique sense of humor, is really nice, and he cares about his student's success. Prof. Simmons teaches Business Calc in a way that is understandable. You don't need a book but you will need a "my math lab" code. 3 tests, 9 quizzes but drops the lowest 2, and lots of homework on my math lab.

Professor Simmons is the man. He made math very understandable. I loved him. Lots of homework. Test were done at home, we went over the test by playing jeopardy, so you basically knew what was on the test. This was an outstanding class

I took professor Simmons for College Algebra and Statistics. He is an awesome teacher. Provides notes to help you on your journey in math. He is very quick though, seems like he moves a little too fast sometimes and people become lost. Don't miss class and you will most likely pass. He docks points for missed attendance. Offers extra credit!!!

Super awesome professor!! He gives you handouts for class, which explains how to do things extremely easy. The tests are based off the homework and they're all on Math Xl. I loved Prof. Simmons he's super laid back and loves his job. Attendance is a grade though. I'm not a math person but I passed with an A.

He is a great teacher who genuinely loves math. He gives out solid notes on the letters before every class all of the homework quizzes and tests are online. The quizzes and homework you have unlimited trys to get 100% and the tests you have 2 chances very good class to take would 100% regiment taking Simmons for as many classes as you can

This was one of the best online classes Ive taken. You move at your own pace but you have deadlines. Read the text book and its easy to learn. He responded back fast to my emails. And I got two tries for both big exams. Well respected professor.

Honest Review! Professor Simmons was the best math professor ever! He explains things on an elementary level to understand. He gives so many extra credit points every test and all quizzes are take home. He also gives study guides for all of his test which help a lot. I got a B in the class doing the bare minimum, I could have gotten an A though!!!!

He goes into great detail in lectures and sure doesnt waste any time! He is willing to stay after class and help and answer any questions. He gives great feedback especially on quizzes and tests. I would recommend him to everyone!

College Algebra can be a challenging class, but Professor Simmons makes it fun and gives you all the tools to be successful. Take full advantage of his extra credit opportunities and attend the lectures and you will pass without an issue. He generally cares about your academic success and will help any way he can.

Best professor I've had at fscj. Use your study guide for his exams and participate in all extra credit given. Homework is a lot but necessary to understand algebra.

Hands down best professor I've had in college. Constantly find myself laughing during lectures from his dry sense of humor. I used to struggle with math but feel a lot more confident now after 2 of his classes. Just do the study guides and ask him to help with anything you have trouble with, and you will get an A. Take his class!

I have struggled with math all my life but through Professor Simmons' guidance and tutoring, I made it through Trigonometry, Precalculus and now Calculus 1 with good grades. It is not easy but with hard work, but Professor Simmons will make sure you succeed!

He has amazing lectures so it's super easy to understand what he is teaching. All of our homework and major test/ quizes are online, although we do have some in class quizes sometimes. He is very helpful so if you ask for help he will explain it until you understand it.

Tough course. However, he provides a clear path for success and provides lots of resources such as videos and formulas.

Do not be scared of this class. This is a GREAT professor and he you will pass. As long as you do the work, watch his videos thoroughly, and take notes i guarantee you'll enjoy this class. Very helpful!

I have so many great things to say about Professor Simmons. If you don't do the work you won't pass this class. I took his class in the Summer. I wish I had more time, but I didn't. He gives great lectures, videos, and notes. You have several opportunities to pass each assignment. Of you don't apply yourself and do the work you will not pass.

Great teacher, explains concepts very well. Never felt overloaded. Gives a week to prep for exams. FSCJ has some great math teachers.

He is the best professor when it comes to Calculus. He will try his best to make you understand the topic as easily as possible. I will definitely recommend him.

Professor not only speaks math, but moves like it too. He has a heart for his job and makes coming to class a pleasure. Every lecture has a very detailed handout with excellent examples that are much more helpful than the reading in the textbook. I think the book company can learn a thing or two from this amazing professor!

Professor Simmons was great. There were plenty of opportunities for extra credit, which is unusual for a math class. I did not interact with him much as "class" was just a once a week Q&A session that I never went to. You are teaching yourself, but all the videos he has really make it a good experience. He uses LumenOHM, which is only $25.

Take this class!! This was online, but Professor Simmons sets you up with all the tools you need to succeed. He provides detailed videos to watch before you start your assignments and even videos during the assignments if you get stuck on a question. 3 extra credits. I was extremely nervous to take statistics and I actually found it to be fun.

Literally the BEST math teacher you can have and hell help you whenever you need help. He doesnt ever go too fast for anyone. Whenever you need help, he will find time to help you.

I have taken three different math courses with Professor Simmons and he is the absolute best!

Simmons has given me a great first impression on college level math. He teaches the material in an understandable way and is happy to answer any additional questions. He prints out packets for notes which makes focusing on the lectures much easier. You get 3 attempts on quizzes and 2 on exams, and he looks over your work to give out extra points.

Professor Simmons was by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I have never made an A in math class, however, I did with him. He has his course set up extremely well for a student with multiple classes. He also explains everything thoroughly and makes the material easy to understand. Best Math teacher & prof I've taken so far, clear explanation, guidance, & constructive criticism. Unlike many teachers, does not forget that we don't know as much as he does. I am the absolute worst at math. I passed this class with a 99%. Tests and finals have more than one attempt and are not proctored. There were also three extra credit assignments. Lumen was used and his usage of Google Sheets and videos to show how to answer questions help significantly. I cannot recommend him enough.

Math is my weak spot and I made a 92.8 in the class. He is THE best math teacher. He is helpful and gives many resources to help you succeed. The course is point based, 9 modules, 2 extra credit opportunities, 2 practice exams ( mid and final) , a midterm, and a final. Very manageable. Assignments due on Monday's but you have 10 late passes!

For an online course this was as easy as they get. Homework, quizzes, and the exam were all done online and were not proctored, multiple attempts available.

I have taken Simmons for all of my mathematically classes required and he certainly is one of the best. His lectures are clear and to the point with a bit of humor thrown in. He never shames you for asking questions and love to go over material again and strives to help his students understand the assignments.

Professor Simmons is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I've taken four of his classes now and they have all been taught easily by him. If anyone ever needs help, he is there for each individual needs. He is an fscj GOAT.

The BEST professor at fscj. I will always take his classes. he provides in depth videos and his tests and quizzes are very similar to the notes he provides. If math is not your best subject and you're scared to take a math class, definitely take his classes. I seriously cannot talk highly enough about this professor. He is the BEST

I took Calc 1 with someone who primarily used MyMathLab and I really struggled to learn anything. This prof. does not use MML and provides note pages to fill in as you follow along with the provided lectures. The first 2 lectures of Calc 2 I watched made all of Calc 1 make sense - take him if you do better with lectures and not MML. AMAZING prof.

Dr. Simmons is a fantastic math professor at FSCJ! His note packets make it easy to follow along with his lectures and understand the material. Easily the best math professor I've ever had. How lectures are clear and explain the concepts well. He creates an excellent study guide that leaves you well prepared for each test. Weekly HW and Pop quiz but all expected stuff. He drops 3 quiz grades. Not a stressful class at all. Very friendly and down to earth person. Also he gives multiple extra credit assignments.

This was my third time taking a class from Dr. Simmons. He is a wonderful professor who cares about his students and wants them to succeed! His lectures helped simplify the textbook content by showing how to solve the problems step by step. He was always willing to answer questions students had about the material, especially during office hours.

When I have to take a math class, I make sure to get Dr. Simmons. He's so gracious and easy to learn from. You will learn in his classes at an easy pace.

This the best math teacher at FSCJ. Please take him. I was never the best in math. If you take him you will not fail as long as you always do I your homework, exams and quizzes. No proctored exams. You will have 1 quiz and homework assignment do weekly. Just show up to class and ask for help if you need. HE want all of his students to succeed.

After struggling with Calc 2, I redeemed myself in Calc 3 thanks to Dr. Simmons, who really knows how to create an online course that is easy to follow. Gives HW from txtbk, quizzes, open book exams, no lectures but yes some videos. Responds quickly to emails, will happily explain things you don't understand. Extra credit HW for easy A. Recommend!

GREAT teacher!!! I'm awful at math and had no prior Calc knowledge yet still passed. Notes are given, and study guides for exams (which are extra credit). First exam (algebra review) is in person, the other 2 are online (2 attempts). Per week, there are usually 2 HW assignments and a quiz (3 attempts). Work due on the day of assigned meeting days.

So, I took this class at night at my high school. He's an amazing teacher and gives us great resources. We used google sheets for our formulas. His homework is multiple attempts and you get three attempts for his test. The midterm and final exams you a practice test with multiple attempts and two for the actual exam. I would recommend taking him.

WOW! If you struggle with math. This is THE professor. For the online course, he lets you work at your own pace. 10 quizzes, 3 discussion boards, 4 reflections, 9 homework, 2 practice exams, a midterm and final. ALL OF THEM with 2–3 tries. I finished the semester in a week. I wish he taught other core classes. This class was just beautiful.

The class is structured to have 2-3 lessons a week with videos and notes to follow along with. There are 3 exams in the class and a study guide for extra credit opportunities. The amount of content is very manageable and the structure of the class makes it easy to follow along. Professor Simmons is an amazing instructor who is always ready to help.

This was my first math class in 10+ years & I was terrified. Dr. Simmons' modules are easy to follow. You can print out the lessons & watch his videos & go through them at the same time. They are easy to understand & I appreciate the math jokes. It would take more effort to fail this class than to pass. Hoping to have him again for my next math.
