interesting class he is passionate about it teaches well only thing is quizzes are 25% exam 1 is 25% exam 2 is 25% and exam 3 is 25%. The grading scared me at firstbut its really not that bad the only thing you have to do is study for the exams and take notes. pretty easy no busy work except the readings which the quizes are based one.
I thought he was great. He was new so I imagine he can only get better. I got an A with low effort put into it. I'd definately recommend him, I still have a comprehensive knowledge of what he taught
I took him when he first came to SPC. He's a good teacher, he has interest in the topic. However, make sure you take notes. The tests are based strictly on the notes. Make a study guide before the test, and study. Other than that, he's a good professor to take if you have an interest. Do the readings, or you will fail the quizzes. Honest.
Great professor. Lectures are very interesting, with open discussions. Quizzes are easy. Tests are a little tough, but easy if you use the studyguide. Everything from the study guide is on the test, no surprises. Material is easy to grasp with his style of teaching. Take him!
Take good note, the test are just like the study guides. Not a bad class.
Sims encourages open discussion in class so dont be afraid to speak up! Take good notes (not just his power point but his lecture). His study guide is to the point and short. There is also no suprises and all pop quizes are announced ahead of time).
Yeah, this guy is really hard if you're an absolute moron. He gives a study guide and tells you whats on the test, easiest teacher ever. If you fail his class, may God help you, a monkey could pass this class.
Great professor. Read what he tells you and take notes - it's an easy A.
Allright the great mr. Sims. I took western humanities class. Although i knew most of the stuff he talked about i got a C.He is a good teacher. He likes the subject alot,he lets you think of yourself by asking questions. He uses the socratic method.Make sure you take notes. He has short answers for the tests, multiple choice.. To be continued on next
..Continued. And he also has a short paragraph which is 20% of the test grade.Make sure you are there for the quizes. He has no retakes. He takes 2 of the quiz grades off.If you are interested in humanities take him.He has the passion of teaching a bit more than just from the book.If you want to skim through humanities try another teacher.
the class seems so easy.all you do is sign in sit there and take notes off the powerpoint. test are extreamly hard but quizes are easy. he dosnt use angel for grades but will tell you what grades you got on tests and quizes but will not tell you your over all grade. hes all about the history and the ppls book titles and dates of ppl lives
Very nice! Loves what he does and very passionate about what he teaches. Encourages reading before class and in class participation which makes the class that much more fun! Easy A if you show up, take notes and review the study guides before the tests. I had ZERO interest before taking him. He made me love the course!
Amazing professor. He was extremely helpful and wants to make sure everyone makes it through his class with a passing grade. I had no interest in this subject but he changed that for me. He teaches with a passion and knowledge on the subject. As long as you pay attention, take notes, and study your study guide.. you are garuenteed an A.
Great professor! Very nice and helpful. Uses slides and text reading for lecture, and goes through material thoroughly with a great sense of passion for the subject. Attendance is a must, as a lot of test questions are from the lecture and not the book.
Teacher will not work with you when needed and is not helpful at all!! Tests are taken all from the textbook and not from any of the powerpoints or lectures. Basically a teach your self type class.DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!
I had this professor my freshman year, and I am taking him for the second time. He's definitely lightened up. He's very interesting to listen to, but you MUST take notes. You also have to study study study. As long as you can do both of those, you will definitely get an A in the class. He's also very nice, and an FSU fan.
I love this type of history, I took him for western humanities 2 my second year in college and it was a easy class. If you took AP Euro in high school it is exactly like that. You have to come to class and study but in general it is an esay class. Quizes are so EASY!
very simple class all you have to do is show up and take great notes his test are based more so off his lectures than the book overall the easiest class i have taken all semester
I enjoyed this class. Be prepared to read a lot and study. Quizzes are based on readings and if you read, you'll get an A. Tests are a little more difficult and you actually have to study, but most of the information is on the powerpoints he goes over in class. He's a very nice guy and if you put in effort, he'll work with you.
I took Hum 2 with this professor and the class overall was pretty interesting. His lecture style is a little dry to me, he calls from class check in for students to answer his questions. Quizzes were pretty easy unless he told you to read the book. Study! He gives study guides but everything is defiantly not on it. I would probably take him again.
He definitely has a passion for this, which made the class really interesting. If you're not a good note taker, you're going to have some issues because you have to remember the lecture, not the book. The book is used only for quizzes. Overall good teacher & great class.
Gret guy and has a passion for Humanities. He does lectures and give only four to five paper assigments which is easy and four exams which is also easy if you do the reading and pay attention in class. Plus always disscuss in his class or give him feedback.
Mr. Sims is a wonderful teacher. At first the class may seem difficult, but as long as you take good notes and study the slides, you will pass. He is really good at explaining things to you when something is not understood. His test are a bit challenging, but study those slides.
I took him for Honors and he is a great teacher. At first, his class seemed hard, but realized that you need to take good notes and study his slide. You will past as long as you do those two things. We recevied a few papers to do from our readings, 4 exams and no quizes.
The readings textbook is the only one used for this course. He does not use angel so you don't know your grade until the end of the semester. There are 5 response papers and attendance is a big part of your grade. Interesting class but grading is unorganized.
He is a great professor. He is quite challenging, though, you need to put a lot of time into this class, study the slides and try to write down any extra things he says, if you don't understand something, he doesn't mind going over it again, he is passionate about this subject and he will help you if you just ask. :)
He is obviously very passionate about his work. He is extremely knowledgable and makes the class interesting. As long as you do the assigned homework, and use the study guides that he provides, you will get an A in this class. FANTASTIC teacher!
I actually considered dropping his class because he isn't much help. He lectures with power points but doesn't clarify what is on the test. I think his class is very boring and you have to learn it all on your own to pass.
He has dry humor, but definately keeps the class interesting. If your gonna raise your hand, know your stuff. If he knows your name, you'll always get called on, so read the text. Hard tests, but very easy essay grader if you fufill the simple requirements! He's leniate on absences. I would reccommend 100% attendence! i enjoyed him as a professor!
Great professor. You can tell he loves what he teaches. If you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask and he has no problem explaining. Don't waste money on the textbook. You won't need it. His tests are a bit challenging, but if you study the material you shouldn't get lower than a B. Very interesting course, highly recommended.
This is a fun class, Sims is pretty lenient on grading the whole class scored a low grade and he gave us a take home quiz in place ! no use of textbook, u can always use it periodiclly in library. participation is 20% so absences can add up but like i said hes lenient. Only downside is he dismisses questions and is biased at times
Great teacher! Easy tests, exact study guides, if you attend class and take notes, it should be an easy A. He is literature heavy, though.
Class is interesting. Awesome teacher. Exams are not cumulative. Exams are easy as long as you pay attention in class and take lots of notes. If you like to talk and goof off during class, he won't tolerate it. Respectable teacher. Easy Papers and take home quizzes. He is enthusiastic and gives 10 minute breaks. Not a boring class. Loved his class!
You can tell he really loves his job. Very nice guy. Very good speaker and decent teacher. If you are not good with note taking classes, this isn't going to be easy. But it is manageable if you try really hard.
Hard class, and uninteresting. He is very passionate when he teaches. If you take his class make sure you keep up with the readings, or you'll regret it when you get your test back. 3 tests, 3 papers, 3 quizzes.
Very passionate teacher, will say notes are needed and try to read everything if not then really pay attention to powerpoints, You do need to study what was talked about. Wish he would break up tests more so not so much in one.
Sims is a great teacher and he definitely knows his subject. His tests and quizzes are straight forward however you have to study for the test. A Lot of reading but if you skip a few readings it's easy to catch up just by going to class. Over all comment is that he's a cool guy and I would recommend this class and professor to anyone.
Sims is the type of teacher that teaches as if you already know the stuff. I walked into the class not knowing anything, and I am walking out of the class still not knowing anything. He really is smart in his studies, but you have to know things before walking into that class. He is a good guy, but makes you study way to much for one test!
Sims is a good teacher, and cares about what he teaches. There is assigned reading every class, but I never read. I never missed a class, and payed attention. Taking notes is key, write down all the examples he says, and just listen to what he says. The only reading I did, is when he specified it is for an upcoming quiz. Overall it a great class!
He is easy if you TAKE NOTES and PAY ATTENTION. Unfortunately he doesn't make this clear... almost all exam questions come from the notes.
Powerpoints are just pictures, study guides don't help because he just tells you that you need to know a whole lot of information that you wont really use on the exam. Doesn't reply back to emails at all, you won't know your grade until the end. 2 papers and 3 exams that are hard. Don't take this class!
He only used power points, he doesn't thoroughly explain material or projects, gives short notice. He does seem very interested in his teachings though. Nice man just not for me.
Nothing but powerpoints with an occasional youtube video. Kept class very boring. Seemed to have little passion for teaching. I would not recommend this teacher.
Would not recommend. Very boring and doesn't seem interested in being there anymore than the students do.
This professor was very easy, you will need to read the textbook in order to pass the class. Quizzes were easy, and exams were moderate. I would definitely take him again. However, he is very religious and if you do not agree with his opinion he will treat you as if you are unintelligent.
An enthusiastic teacher. However, he gives no classwork except reading the textbook, so your grade is based on all your tests (each is 25%), quizzes and papers (25%, combined). Also, most of the content on his tests is based on his lectures, and not the textbook. I highly recommend you do not miss any of his lectures, or you may cost yourself an A.
Seems like a nice guy, but a very poor teacher. Tests ad quizzes have nothing to do with lectures and are barely touched upon in the textbook.
I wouldn't recommend this class tests are extremely tough, study guide is unclear. If you want to pass you can't miss a day of class, you have to write practically everything he says in his lectures. Power point is no help its just pictures and half the stuff on the test is barely mentioned in the textbook. I really did not like taking this class.
good teacher but very tough
He is an amazing teacher who in very involved with the class. If you dont answer class questions expect to be call upon. YOU MUST READ!! if you dont read you cant pass his test. Sometimes he ask for dates, specific names, etc. But he is the best humanities professor i know
He could careless about his students and treats you like you should already know everything.
Professor Sims is an amazing professor. He is helpful and tells you right off the bat what he expects out of you (syllabus). Class is mandatory because lectures do contain valuable notes for future tests. He makes this course interesting and fun with occasional video clips and the short novels we read in the course are very interesting.
Great guy, he is not very one on one because of how many kids are in the class. He tries his best to be personal. Every day is a power point. Study guides are the exact same as the test. Quizzes are easy. He puts powerpoints online but no information on them, so it is an easy class to skip but you MUST copy the notes and read the powerpoint.
Honestly, I dont believe things should be handed to you but Professor Sims in all reality is a horrible teacher. He is a good guy just not a good teacher. He only counts 4 things towards your final grade and 90% of it is exams so if you are not a good test taker you will legit fail this class. I recommend taking a different teacher.
Mainly does tests so if your not good at tests you will fail. I really did not enjoy this class he kept the class boring only power points and no other assignments.
In his class you literally have to write down everything he says, because it won't be in the textbook or the powerpoint, which are mainly pictures. So if you don't listen to him and get everything down, you'll fail. He does quizzes from novels which are easy if you read them. But there's really no extra credit and treated like you know it already.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! WE NEED MORE TEACHERS LIKE MR SIMS. HE IS VERY INFORMATIVE AND RESPECTFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. YOU ACTUALLY LEARN ABOUT ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS AND HISTORY. THE BEST PART IS THAT HE USES POWERPOINTS WHICH HELPS ALOT BECAUSE NOT ONLY ARE YOU LISTENING TO WHAT HE HAS TO SAY BUT YOU ARE ALSO LEARNING VISUALLY.
harah on papers ,exams you will need to know above and beyond . If you miss a day the power points won't help you because there mostly pictures and he will just talk about it then change to next picture .
Prof. Sims is one of my all-time favorite professors ever! Very good power-points, plays music in class, learns students' names, never gets agitated with the class. Tests are hard and quizzes are random-- but if you prepare well (like, REALLY well), you'll be just fine. USE THE STUDY GUIDES!!!! Miss class, and you will suffer. But overall, amazing.
IF YOU WANT TO PASS THIS CLASS DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR SIMS. He is a awful grader. Its never consistent. Power-points are are not informational (do not listen to these other reviews) He adds all papers, quizzes and tests in one % group so if you don't get a decent grade on everything you will be in trouble. Save your time and money!!
Prof Sims seems to know his stuff but is horrible at teaching it. He is a tough grader, his study guides do NOT match the test, assignments are not individually graded he puts everything together as one grade. Worst grading system I've seen. For papers and tests its very unclear what exactly he wants and will mark down on anything he can!
Dr. Sims is one of my favorites professors at SPC. I have taken every class that he teaches, and passed them all with A's. His lectures are interesting and will keep you intrigued. His tests are easy if you follow the study guide and actually study. He is very clear cut on his expectations, take him if you care to really learn about the humanities!
He is a tough grader. His teaching is horrible and boring, he reads off the board. If you are not good at history do not take him he goes fast. I lose track of what we are doing. If you fail one test you are basically screwed unless you do great on the other test, quizzes, and book reports. I will not take him again.
He knows his history very well but is terrible and understanding and thus describing art and music. His lectures only cover big-picture stuff but his tests always ask about details he skims over. He never tells you when his quizzes are so no one does well on them.
Dr. Sims is a great, very informative, respectful and knowledgeable professor. His lecture are clear and interesting, just pay attention. His test are hard, but with the study guide you'll succeed in his class. 2 papers, 5 quizzes and 3 test. Take him if you care and really would like to learn about humanities. Miss class, and you will suffer.
Ugh, regret taking this class and Mr. Sims. He's a very nice guy but his lectures are soo boring. He talks the entire class and goes over things ONCE and expects you to remember it for the test. There's 2 papers and they must be 4 pages long. I went to every class and still did bad. I would only take his class if you're super smart :/
If you're not a good test taker, I don't recommend taking him. He literally puts in four grades throughout the whole course, 3 tests and the 2 papers you have to write. His PowerPoints are useless, most of the slides contain only pictures and not even enough information.
This guy wrote a dissertation on Shakespeare. He is incredibly intelligent but doesn't throw it in your face. His standards are straight forward and simple. If you take notes and use the study guides in which he provides, there is no reason to not get an A. Love this guy and will seek him out for future classes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
His classes are college level courses (he formerly taught at Lee Uni, so... ); if you expect a passing grade just for enrolling and showing up look elsewhere. Students will have to keep up with reading the textbook and supplementary materials, take notes, ask questions and think. Enjoyed the class, even though it followed the liberal outline.
Great easy teacher. Hate essays? Only gives A's for any essay. Take notes of what he says about the slides and study the study guide before each test and it's an EASY A. The test is on exactly what is on the study guide. Don't miss class and don't buy the book.
I learned a lot in this class. Mr. Sims is very nice, professional, and informative. He creates a syllabus and follows it religiously. Textbook is helpful but not required. I would not recommend missing class because you won't do well on his tests.
i took this class about a year ago but let me tell you, it was and still is my favorite class ever in SPC. this professor might be the serious type but he is overly helpful and he really cares about his students. he just ADORES what he does. if you take notes on whatever he says, attend all class, you will pass with a very very very easy A
Professor Sims is probably the best teacher I have taken this semester. His lectures are very informative. They can get boring at times but you do learn all of the material. Everything you learn in class is on the study guide so take notes. He's funny and offers multiple amounts of extra credit. He also has small quizzes and papers that are easy.
Nice professor, clear grading system but soooo boring! I skipped his class a few times. Took express on campus and the classes were long. Nearly put me to sleep... still passed though. Tests were a little hard.
Professor Sims was great! His study guides are exactly the test, so you are well prepared. There are two essays throughout the semester that are really easy. His lectures can get boring at times, however they are extremely important. I highly recommend his class.
Class is pretty normal a little boring but interesting material he definitely trys to get more people to talk and interact to make the class more interesting.
I really enjoyed Professor Sims' class. If you show up, listen well, take good notes, and do the reading you will be fine. The course is very well organized with clear grading and expectations, and he's an all around good guy. He takes his work seriously and he cares a lot about his students. Show up, pay attention, and stay off your phone. :)
Professor Sims is really nice, and it is obvious he loves what he does. The class is not really challenging, it is just important to actually go that way you can write down everything he says (and it is a lot) because that is what the exams are composed of. He gives reviews almost identical to the exams.
His tests are very hard he wants us to be very specific and no matter how hard you study its just hes a hard grader.
Professor Sims is really great lecturing. His lectures are long , but interesting. Make sure you take notes!!! NOTES ARE EVERYTHING IN THIS CLASS! you will need them to study and do good in the exams; the power points don't have much details, but still are helpful. He gives study guides for every exam. His quizzes are easy. STUDY THE NOTES!
This class was amazing! A tough grader for sure but such an interesting class and helpful professor. Allowed me to turn in a paper that I had messed up completely!
I am honestly surprised Mr. Sims doesn't have a 4.0+ on here. I took Mr. Sims during summer as a junior in high school while volunteering and working. We had to read only two books, short 5 question quizzes, textbook wasn't used often, extra credit offered, and final was memorization. He was really passionate and made a 2 hour lecture bearable
I took HUM1020 online, best choice I made. There's a "required" textbook, but I got through the class without the textbook and got an A--since the Professor provides a lot of resources and a lot of the assignments require you to research online. Take Humanities online with Professor Sims.
He lectures for the entire time slot, but provides great information. Your grade relies heavily on the 3 exams in this class. Papers and quizzes make up the other 50% of your grade. As long as you show up to class, you will do fine.
Loved this class and loved learning about humanities. TAKE NOTES. Lots of notes. Study notes and you will pass tests. 5 question quizzes and 2 papers. Easy A.
hes great but not enough assaignments
In the beginning of the semester I enjoyed Sims lectures & found the different topics interesting. However, the grades for this class are solely exam based. More than half of the class either failed or dropped out & on every exam there was more Ds & Fs then passing grades hes not understanding of others at all & is not willing to understand
Sims is for sure the best Humanities teacher at SPC Tarpon. His lectures are very boring if you are not interested in the Humanities, but hes does give test reviews. He makes you write 2 essays during the semester, but they are very easy. He also gives 7 5-question quizzes throughout the semester and drops 2.
Show up to class, take lots of notes from the lectures, study your notes and the powerpoints he provides and you'll do fine. You need to study to pass this class. He has 7 quizzes and drops your lowest 2 and 3 big tests but you get a study guide for each one. Also, you have to write 2 papers. Just follow his exact instruction and you'll be fine.
Sims is a good professor, he is extremely organized and has strict due dates on everything. In order to pass this class you MUST TAKES NOTES. That will be the only way to pass this class. Two exams and seven quizzes but he drops the two lowest quiz grades. If you are a person who skips class, don't take this class or you will not pass.
In his HUM 2010 class 80% of your grade is 3 tests, you are given a study guide, but it covers that you are to know everything lectured and in the text book memorized. Very kind funny teacher, but if you want to pass humanities don't take this professor.
The guy just doesn't care. His grading makes no sense. He has no rubrics. He emails you extremely late. Not a dude I'd take again. My opinion is to stay away from this class.
It was my first time using rate my profesor to pick my professors for this semester so I was skeptical at first but I really enjoyed this class! Dr. Sims is very caring and understanding. For example one module was due on the night of Halloween so he decided to give us all an extra day to complete the work which was awesome!
Professor Sims was a great professor! The classes were a little boring because it was just a PowerPoint and his voice for an hour straight at 9 am. But given this, you aren't expected of much. Just show up, attendance is graded sadly, but he gives a few easy quizzes, 2-3 tests, and 2 papers. He's easygoing and he'll help you out a lot. I recommend.
Professor Sims is a nice outgoing person. He does not have many assignments besides a few occasional pop quizzes and tests. The quizzes are straightforward but only are a small part of your grade. Test are the most significant part of your grade and do require studying. All the lectures are powerpoints, and he speaks off them and the textbook.
If you are studying Humanities this professor is the right one for you as you would really have to focus on his class and nothing else. As an accounting student there was no need of all this studying. If you miss the due date forget it, he won't grade even if you submit the paper, even though he himself grades your work two weeks after submission.
He blatantly accused me of not writing a paper when I did, tried to give me a zero when his instructions were unclear and then changed the instructions last minute. I wouldn't recommend him at all
Dr. Sims instructions are clearly laid out. There was a good amount of writing which was a bit of a challenge for me. However, I did use the free Tutor, com source in SPC to have someone look over my papers first for errors. No final exam. I had to email him a few times and received a quick reply. I took the 8 week course he did remove some chapters
I really liked his class. When in a lecture, he engages the class and really helped me understand the content. His tests are entirely based on your notes and the study guide, so as long as you've got that content down, you'll get a good grade. If you're not interested in this class or don't pay attention in his lectures, this class may be harder.
Don't take this class unless you are actually interested in humanities. I took this class just for the credit and it was awful. The guy is a tough grader so you will have to really work hard on the papers. He also gets grades back to you a week or 2 weeks after the deadline.
Professor Sims had 4 total grades and 3 of them were tests, which was the biggest concern. However if you study his study guides then you will do okay. The 4th grade is a combination of 2 papers and 5 quizzes. All in all I would take him again because of the useful information from his PowerPoints for each and every lecture.
There isn't a ton of assignments to submit, but for this reason, the tests are weighed quite heavily into your overall grade. He's a tough grader. I took his freshman humanities course as a junior because I didn't realize I was deficient those hours. He's as tough as a junior or senior level professor. Would not recommend him, avoid his course.
3 exams worth 75% of grade. Very tedious study for exam, difficulty excessive for freshman intro course. Little regard given to difficulties class had after 2 weeks of missed classes (due to Sims quarantining after testing positive for CoV) lead to study and lecture crunch. Unprofessional manner with regard to his personal opinions and politics.
Prof. Simms was a good teacher! His lectures were interesting and I was kept engaged! His overall assignments weren't the hardest, he just grades VERY specifically! So make sure you double check your work! The one thing I really disliked about his class was his test! He would pack way too much information into these test so it made it very hard
Go through his study guide and you'll get by just fine. His powerpoints are vague so you'd have to pay attention to the lecture to have notes on specific things you'll be tested on (google works too). Quizzes are so easy I promise cannot get easier if you did the reading mentioned in the syllabus for quizzes specifically.
Professor Sims' class is definitely more difficult. He goes a little fast through the lectures and expects everyone to have the same background on certain topics. However, he explains the lectures well and is good at clarifying when a specific question is asked. Just read the study guides and take notes and you will do just fine.
We have 3 exams that make up 75 percent of our grade and all of the exams are crammed with way to much information. It is insanely difficult to retain the information to study. If you struggle with retaining information stay away from this class. He also posts the statistics of the class grade on exams and shames students who get below an A.
Horrible. You only have 3 exams to make up 75% of your grade. I didn't pass one exam and studied 2 weeks in advance and used the study guide that he gave. It's just so much information all at once, and half the study guide you don't even learn in class or in the textbook. His power points don't help and the extra he writes is just bs. Don't take
This professor is very religion-based in sections where he does not need to be heavily religious. He leans more towards the Christian belief on almost everything. Lots of information on the exams and huge study guides that do not always align with the exams. If you aren't in class you miss half the information as it's not all on the PowerPoints.
If you take this proffesor online it may be a different experience, however his exams are very difficult and there are only 2 papers and small quizzes to make up the rest of the grade in the class.
One of the worst out there. Study guide hardly matches his exams. He seems to have an attitude and will get short with you if you're debating about something. Doesn't curve the exam. And if he does its 2 points. Extra credit was barely worth 3 points. Teaches horribly. He will quote ONE time something and out it on the test.
DO NOT TAKE! The quizzes and the papers will not save your grade. if you get a low grade on any exam you will be fighting to maintain a C average in that class. His study guides are unhelpful and do not work. He gave no regards to curve exams and help students grades out. Good luck to any student who gets locked into this class, you will need it.
Professor Sims' class can be challenging, but staying engaged and using study aids like Unstuck ai can help. His lectures are detailed, so taking notes and reviewing the study guide is key to doing well on the difficult exams. Overall, a rewarding course if you put in the effort.
As a professor, hes really good. His lectures are full of fun content. HOWEVER, if humaities isnt your favorite it WILL BE SO BORING. There are 3 test, each worth 20% of ur grade. He gives a study guide identical to the test, but IT REQUIRES LOTS OF MEMORIZATION! There is one paper which is super easy and attendance is graded.
If you show up to every class, take notes, and follow the study guide word for word... you will pass. Sims is an amazing lecturer and is very educated on what he teaches. The class is super interesting so it is easy to take notes. People that complain about failing the tests probably did not study at all.
Sims will never give a 100% on any writing assignment, he is one of those professors who believes that a 100% is perfect and that no one is perfect. He will also not give you feedback onto what you need to improve upon for the next one.
I absolutely enjoyed attending this class, but I do have to admit, you can never miss a day of it. Everything that will be on the exam is not in the PowerPoint or the book. Google will not save you! So, if you were taking this class, please know how to make studying fun. The exams are worth the majority of your grade.
I enjoyed this class and appreciate the subject matter it has introduced and opened my mind to. Dr. Sims is an interesting and knowledgeable lecturer. Being involved and asking questions will get you far in this class! Course finished today and already have final grade. I hope to get as much as I did from Dr. Sims class in my future classes.
first class ive ever failed btw.
Dr. Sims is an OK professor the class was my most difficult of the semester (despite being a science major). He expects you to read daily for his class (I didn't) you only need to read before quiz. The first test hits you like a truck you have to be ready to get to know every single subject on the study guide he hands out. I got a 100% on the paper
Heard by many, this class was tough. If you take notes on the lectures and study, you will pass. He offers extra credit on the first exam and there are grades for participation, quizzes and the paper. He is a really light grader with the paper. If you can put in the effort, you will pass.
Highly recommend! My biggest advice be descriptive in your writing and use a lot of detail that's what he's looking for! always gives feedback even if you get 100s, which I appreciated. my only complaint is that it seems like the word requirement isn't accurate. Most posts required 200 words, but to get a 100, you definitely need to x2 or x3 that.
