Excellent professor. Would recommend for sociology. Cares about the students. Tests are all multiple choices and short answers.

no surprises in this class he does a good job of covering the material for his tests which are usually multi. choice some T or F and short essay questions. Note: He is extremely strict on attendance and if you like to come in late expect to hear from him.

VERY STRICT PROFESSOR WITH ATTENDANCE, BUT HE IS VERY GOOD FOR SOCIOLOGY. HIS TEACHING IS CLEAR AND PRECISE AND TESTS ARE STRAIGHT FORWARD. HE IS ONE OF MY BEST PROFESSORS AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.

Love this class best teacher I've had very clear,, the tests are very easy. Not alot of work at all in the class and not bad to look at either.

amazing guy

My experience with the SS-375 course he teaches was very positive. Dr. Trachman presents the material in a very straightforward way. Not always the easiest to understand, but not terrible either. I recommend taking a class he teaches. SS-375 is Media and Society.

I love his class! The topics are not just interesting but the professor too..Wink...He is very clear and easy to understand. He explains the materials very well. All you have to do is have your pen prepared and couple of sheets, then read them.

Professor Trachman is by far the best professor I have had. He is very clear, he takes time to help you and talk to you if you need him, and he tells you exactly what's going to be on his tests and follows through. He speaks very clearly, expects no homework, very good class with a matching A+ professor.

i would definatly recomend him. his teaching stye is supurb and he is the nicest professor that i have ever had,he takes the time to get to know every student and he is just a sincerly nice man.

I had no idea what this class involved before I took it, however this professor made it enjoyable and interesting. I really enjoyed this class.I learnt a lot.

I took Trachman a couple of semesters ago and I still have his course fresh in my mind. Even though he's a bit on the easy side, his lectures are SO clear that you can quote him semesters later. He's always got the same cool attitude and approach for each class- kinda stoic actually. He's the professor you want! Seriously...pick him!

I liked him so much, I took his other class for fun (Media & Society). By far THE BEST professor I've had since being here. He's easy, relaxed, perfect clarity and ease, it can't get any better than this. He's awesome! Take him for sociology too, you won't regret it!

I highly recommend him. He explains everything multiple times. he gives out a study sheet before each test which basically tells you exactly what you need to know, for the test. I would highly recommend him, but he goes crazy if you text during his class or walk out to answer your phone, otherwise he is an excellent professor.

this proffesor is definatly an excellent instructor. he is very articulate in his lectures. the only thing i have to say about him is that when he writes notes on the board they are very scattered. other than that he is just great

i took him for sociology .... HES not as easy as people make it sound...you seriously have to work for your grade... and he won't cut you any slack at the end...the grade u earn is the grade u get...unless he really likes u i guess!

i had him for sociology, he's a very very nice prof!! he writes the notes out on the board, he doesnt mind repeating materials over & over again. attendance is important, especially latenesses. use the book a lot (mostly to study at home). exams are all MC , T&F & 2 mini essay questions. although i wish i got an A or an A+, but an A- isnt as bad =P

he's an easy prof, he's just veryyy retentive on attendance if you show up like one minute late he'll make you late for the whole class, elsewise he's a good professor, not the most interesting but still alright

I had no idea as to what Sociology was before I took this class, but now I pay attention to details in everyday situations that I never even noticed before.Trachman is very clear and easy to understand.He enjoys it when students ask questions and doesn't mind repeating himself.I found the class to be very interesting and was therefore, very easy.

Great teacher i enjoyed every moment of his class very understanding. Hes very strict on attendance and lateness just follow his rules and you will enjoy his class brilliant man sociology is my favorite subject now

Best professor at Queensborough. If you like Sociology take his class. Take notes, read what he tells you and study a little before the test and you will get awesome grades. He's a funny man but he has a TEMPER...WARNING: Don't touch your phone during his class and don't show up late more than a few times.

This prof is soo good i mean by far he is not hard at all he tells you yo read the text book but as long as you copy notes and pay ateention you will do fine. i didnt open my textbook but studied for all my test. and i got a A- in the course 3 tests last on is the final no homework no papers dnt be late and leave ur phone alone easy A

He is AWESOME ! best professor i have this semester. He's very clear, concise, and makes his lectures interesting. 3 easy exams. no papers.Word of advice. Put your phone on vib & away b/c he WILL shout you out if your looking at it or if u take a call(funny if its not u.lol)

If you had no interest in the subject previously, that will likely change. Professor Trachman is passionate about Sociology. If you get on his bad side, he has no qualms about hiding it. Overall, he's an excellent professor and he abhors cell phone usage during class.

Don't bother buying the text. The test questions are straight from the notes. The short answer test questions are discussed in advance. Very clear. As stated in the other reviews, turn your phone off before class.

This was my favourite class, & he is the absolute BEST prof @QCC. His tests r really easy just study ur notes. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! I never bought it an I got an A. Oh, turn ur cell off as i saw him follow a student in the hall 2c if she left to talk on her phone which she did & he asked her 2leave or put it away. &he is still the BEST prof@QCC

The best Professor ever !

He is really good. Loves what he teaches and it shows.4 Exams, Multiple choice and 2 essay questions (short answers which he reviews in class). He takes attendance seriously so don't be late. Hands out review sheets and reviews before an exam.....

I had Professor Trachman for spring 2011 in sociology. His lectures were very interesting and he was very good at explaining things. He even took time to explain things to you in his office hours. One of the best sociology professors ever

This class is easy but not easily get A. There are 3 testing including final. not homework. study by yourself.

Professor Trachman is one of the best professors in QCC! Recommended to anyone that needs Sociology. Very interesting lectures, doesn't getting boring, keeps the class interesting. Wouldn't recommend doing the things that get him upset. Overall a great professor with a great personality!

If you want an easy A! He's an easy going professor! All you need to do is go to his class, pay attention in class and that's it. No reading necessary if you paid attention in class! He gives 3 tests and thats it. Basically all your grades depend on that. He is very strict about about coming to class on time. HE'S AN EASY A!!!

Professor Trachman is great. He's always prompt, very kind, answers every question.. basically the perfect professor. His ONLY FLAW is that he grades incredibly hard! He really wants one to go in depth, further explain everything. PS all his exams are essays. No MCs or Fill-ins.. ALL 5 QUESTIONS ESSAY EXAMS.

Very understanding professor and very enthusiastic on teaching. Easy tests & gives you a clear review beforehand. However, he does not like late students. Excellent attendance is a MUST!

LOVED Dr. Trachman! Hes super clear, and makes the class interesting. He cares about what students have to say, so definitely participate. Hes kind of OCD so just be careful about being late or leaving the room. His tests are very clear and if you don't understand something hes happy to help. I would absolutely recommend this class

Sociology 101, I didn't need textbook - his lectures are extremely comprehensive. His tests are very straightforward and entirely based on the lecture. If you have difficulty with the lecture, then you will have to read. He is very clear though. He doesn't like lateness.

Professor Trachmans l class was easy. Would of did better if I studied for the second test. The class is heavily lectured based, he does not review his notes, but he was slides were clear and simple. He gives extra credit, all of his tests were based on lecture notes. No HW, he also gives review sheets before the tests and goes over them in class

I loved hes lecture. He makes the class very interesting and he is very clear with the information he provides. He makes it easy for you to understand things. I enjoyed hes class very much. Only 3 exams for the semester. Doesn't give any homework. He sends you a review sheet about 2 weeks before an exam. Also gives extra credit quizzes that will help you on your exam. He tells jokes here & there to make the class fun.

Prof. Trachman was the best. Very knowledgeable, academic, and presented fascinating material. He is understanding and a fair grader. You will do well if you learn the material and engage in it. Highly reccomended, and I had a positive, influential, and joyful experience in this class.

Trachman was a great prof, he's very straight forward and to the point. Only 3 exams and a few extra credit quizzes worth 3 points. Tests are basically his powerpoints thats you write down, just worded differently. You do miss crucial things if you skip class. He was awesome.

Awesome professor! Didnt need his textbook. He gives PowerPoints on any subject he will put on the tests. His tests are simple. No homeworks, a lot of extra credit opportunities. I enjoyed this class.

Easy grader

One of the best Sociology professors at Queensborough, I thoroughly enjoyed taking this class with Professor Trachman. The textbook is recommended but not necessary. He gives lots of extra credits, maintains an atmosphere of respect and is an easy grader, but you still need to work for a good grade. He is very understanding, and a great person!

Such a gem!! He gives amazing notes and the review sheets are directly based off them. His tests are so easy if you study, he tells you exactly what you need to know. Hes such a great professor 10/10 would recommend!!

He puts everything on the board and gives you time to take it down and all of his tests and extra credit quizzes are based on it so its a matter of taking it down and remembering it for the exam.

Professor Trachman is such an amazing professor! His lectures are very interesting and clear. He made Sociology an extremely interesting topic to study. He gives out 4 extra credit short answer quizzes, which he counts towards the first test and second tests. If you come to class and study you'll pass with flying colors. I definitely recommend him

When we miss a class, lots of online backup lectures. Actually waits while taking notes. A couple essays, but mostly essay given the material. Wish he had more classes then just SOCY 101 but was worth it. Boyfriend took the online async class and it was almost the same as hybrid for me.

This professor was outstanding, he made the assignments very easy by just watching the lecture videos he had posted (even though they were long, but was worth it since all of the answers were easy to find). Would definitely recommend this professor !

I took this professor for my first semester, and he was honestly the sweetest guy, very professional and just wanted people to participate, all of his tests were based on his slides, like the exact definitions. Don't be afraid to ask for help either. Definitely would recommend to any starting out freshmen, that want an easy first class.

One of the most influential professors I had in my first year. He was always available for help, offered extra credit opportunities, and invited struggling students for one-on-one reviews. He patiently addressed misunderstandings and provided practical study suggestions, enhancing our understanding and boosting our confidence.

Super nice and chill. He was very clear from the beginning about the class and grading. His slideshows were extremely easy to comprehend and he did a great job explaining everything.
