Great history teacher ! A lot of students like him and take his other courses, really explainitory during lectures , tries to make it fun. Really kind and cares about his students and their opinions. Has two papers and 3 exams , if you just put effort and study for exams you should do well in class ! Will help you when needed and easy to contact

Outstanding Professor at Fullerton College. Be ready to take notes and participate in all the class discussions. He makes history fun and he likes to hear students opinions. He wants his students to succeed you just have to put the effort into it. There are pop quizzes, so be sure to be thorough with your answers. You'll learn a lot in this class!

Professor Tribbe is a great instructor. He has the ability to get the class to relate History to current events. He also keeps it amusing. I have yet to meet another instructor who cares, at this level, about what they are teaching at the Junior level.

Tribbe is a great teacher! He gives quizzes on the readings, so make sure you keep up on those. He definitely knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. This guy is very respectable and fair. Ultimately, he just wants to help you to become successful.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking this class. He takes a different approach in that the classes are mostly discussions about the readings. He doesn't expect us to memorize dates but more of developing a perspective and understand how each part of history has affected us today. I would take him again in a heartbeat

Taken 4 of his classes, he is the best professor I have taken. Take notes on lectures, very entertaining. Read, because you have to and because its interesting. Be involve in the discussions. The way he teaches history is not by facts and dates, but by the perspectives and impacts the past have made. Amazing, friendly, knows his stuff, fun class!!!

Amazing professor he loves what he does, you really learn a lot in this class. Tests are straight forward which consist of terms and an essay. He lets you use a one sided cheat sheet which really helps! Pop quizzes here and there. 3 in class essays all together!

A lot of reading but his lectures are totally worth it! There are three tests that have 5 terms of your choice and an in class essay that he lets you bring in a one sided cheat sheet for.

Great professor. Very lecture heavy, it is important to take good notes. Direct participation not mandatory for good participation grade, but contribution to group discussions is very important. Fast responses to emails. Somewhat frequent light jokes that add to discussion at hand, yet aren't too distracting. Friendly, relatable, approachable.

I loved Mr. Tribbe! This class is very lecture heavy and requires lots of note taking. In my class we had two papers, two exams, and a few pop quizzes. At times, I'll admit, his lecture was a bit of a drag, but that's because history is definitely not my point of interest. That being said, I love him! I'd totally take him again. very helpful!

Professor Tribbe is an outstanding educator. His class is very well structured and he knows the subject of American History extremely well. He will answer your questions clearly and in a timely manner. He actually makes history interestng to learn. MAke sure you participate in class and read the chapters because there are quizzes on the material.

Professor Tribbe is awesome! Lecture's are long, but he makes it interesting. He also gives pop quizzes so make sure to read his assigned readings, they're not too bad. He gives study guides and as long as you study and read you'll be good

This class is extremely straight forward. He gives you all the tools to succeed and spells everything out for you. There aren't an excessive amount of papers, and he gives good feedback on them. He tests on exactly what he goes over in class.

this was one of my favorite courses and professor out of my 3 semesters attending fullerton college ! tribbe is very passionate about history and it shines through his lectures . his tests and quizzes arent difficult as long as you read the given material ! he truly cares for his students and their mental health which is a bonus . a lovely guy !

This class is very lecture heavy so get ready to take lots of notes. If you miss a class you have to ask classmates for them because you're basically just writing down what he says during lecture. His tests are very straight forward so as long as you take good notes you should be fine. There's also a lot of reading & pop quizzes based on it.

I loved learning from Prof. Tribbe! Be ready to take notes and I recommend using a laptop because you have to pay attention to what he is saying. He's very passionate about what he's teaching and he can be funny often times. There are some reading pop quizzes so make sure you do your reading assignment. I think he's such a cutie.

Professor Tribbe is one of those professors that is passionate about what they teach. He cares about his students and has a fair grading criteria. He makes you participate, but its more within a group not out loud. Even though sharing your thoughts out loud can be pretty interesting! Read the course reader because he does have pop quizzes!

I've taken two classes with Tribbe and am going to taken another one, he's so engaging and makes you look at history is another light. Do all the readings bc pop quizzes are super random and do the study guides because they're truly what is going to be on the test. Everything you need to know he will lecture on or is in the book, no surprises.

I would like to add Proff Tribbe has amazing lectures, participation matters, and is lecture heavy. The way he tells the story keeps you engaged and you really learn. It feels like he shoves the info down your throat but you are forced to learn. He also uses some of today's news with history in the US. I really learned a lot from his class .

As long as you show up to class and take really good notes you'll be fine. He does a really good job lecturing and explaining the lesson for the day. Everyday class there is usually a discussion or a quiz, so make sure you do your readings. Tests are based on the lectures so take really good notes.

I really enjoyed his class because he makes the outline for lecture accessible so you can organize your notes . There are pop quizzes and group work but its easy and its just to reinforce what you read about. Outlines for tests look overwhelming but they arent, he grades essays well and gives good feedback . will be taking Him again.

Professor Tribbe is an excellent teacher who makes a sometimes dry subject come to life with interesting details. You have to pay close attention and take detailed notes in order to ace his tough exams, which consist of a multiple choice and an essay. Also, beware his reading quizzes - they come at compete random!

Professor Tribbe's class is lecture based, but his lectures are very interesting which keep you engaged. You must take good notes in his class and remember his lectures in order to pass the exams. His class is lecture based & I dont like history but he made it interesting. Take good notes to do well on tests. We had 2 exams, 2 papers, 5-6 reading quizzes, & group discussion points. Professor Tribbe did a great job transitioning to an online class when the pandemic closed schools. He made it very easy to understand what was expected and was in constant communication with the students. He even taped his lectures so we could listen at our convenience.

There is always a reading before class. Most of the beginning of class is spent in breakout groups to answer questions about the chapter. He had 2 papers that were fairly easy. He is semi monotone and spends the rest of class lecturing. However, his lectures are usually interesting, but tend to drag on. A fairly easy professor.

I took this class because of GE requirement. Professor Tribbe surprised me with his passion and enthusiasm. His lectures are amazing and impactful. There is a lot of reading weekly, but you should be fine if you read and do discussion. He is one of the few professors that make class interesting even with remote learning during the pandemic.

I took his online course because of COVID and he is just so passionate, his lectures are great, he'll throw in a few jokes and overall as long as you stay on top of the work you'll be good, truly recommend!

I learned so much from this class & it was very enjoyable. This class takes time but if youre willing to put in the time & effort its an easy A. He does 2 video lectures a week & a few readings that arent too long usually. One discussion per week (pretty flexible and easy to answer). I loved Professor Tribbe's class, he's smart and interesting, his lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. Two big exams, one paper, and weekly discussions. His class is extremely straight forward as long as you read the weekly reading for the discussion you'll get a good grade. He offers an extremely generous extra credit at the end.

Great course, I'd recommend it. He did a great job adjusting online in Fall 2020. If you put in the time and do the work you get a good grade. It is a solid amount of work--lots of reading, writing on discussion boards, and a paper. I enjoyed reading the book assigned, it was broken up well throughout the semester. Learned a lot about CA!

A really, truly, great professor. Lectures are very important to the exams, and you will have weekly readings, and discussion posts to complete. He is very lively in the lectures and I found them very engaging; you aren't just looking at slides. He presents the information very well, in easy to understand terms. Hands down, would take him again.

I took his class online because of the Pandemic. He's an amazing professor who gives great lectures. His lectures were so entertaining and funny, that I would have liked to take his class on campus. What I like the most about him, is that he truly cares about his students. When you do something good he makes sure you know it. He's just awesome!!

A lot of people (like myself) dread subjects like history but I promise you will not regret taking him! His lectures are interesting and so are his assignments. They really help you engage with material and understand a lot of important events. You gain a new perspective on history and how relevant it will always be to how life is today.

I highly recommend taking Professor Tribbe's class! Since it was an online class, the lectures were already pre-recorded and the class consisted mostly of insightful discussions and reading some secondary or primary sources. Professor Tribbe has clear guidelines and expectations on what he wants so it makes the work easier to do.

I really enjoyed this class because it was clear and there was little to no room for error. If you like a teacher that is organized, provides structure and has clear communication, this is the class for you. The lectures in this class were never boring and are part of some of my favorite memories throughout my college experience.

I've always struggled with history, but Professor Tribbe made learning very enjoyable! The course work consisted mostly of discussion boards, and then a paper, and two exams. The study guides were very helpful in conjunction with watching the lectures. I would 100% take this course again, and I highly recommend Professor Tribbe as an instructor.

First of all take his class!!! I will admit that this class is lecture and reading heavy because you have lectures and readings pretty much every week. But if you take notes on the lectures they go really well with the tests. You also do have to pay attention to some material on the reading. The tests are super easy if you study!

This is my first ever professor review and I feel like Professor Tribbe deserves one. He is one of the best history teachers I have ever had, although there are long lectures and readings, everything given is useful information for assignments and exams. His grading and assignments are very well explained.

I dread history in general but Professor Tribbe made the subject so much more interesting and enjoyable! I took his class during the summer (5 weeks), so it was super fast-paced and but if you take his class at a normal pace in Fall or Spring, it would be a lot more manageable. There's a textbook but it's free! I highly recommend his class!

Took him in the spring of 2022. Good professor but to get a higher grade than I did you need to pay attention to his video lectures, take notes and study them which i didnt do. A good amount of test questions come from his lectures so you need to watch them. Lectures were pretty lengthy btw.

Very easy, reading assignments one day of the week, and lectures the other. Teaches a way it makes the class and the subject interesting. Had 2 exams & 1 paper. He would sometimes do pop quizzes but they'd be no problem if you actually did the reading.

Professor Tribbe is the best professor I've had so far. He's clearly passionate about history and the lectures are really interesting. You have a week to do the readings and just make sure to speak once or twice during discussion. Pay attention, take good notes, and you'll be fine.

Professor Tribbe is amazing!!!!!!! His lectures are so interesting. I literally left this class until the very end because I was dreading history but he made it so interesting and I really enjoyed learning. The class structure is very easy to follow as it is mostly made up of discussions based off the lectures and readings. Really easy class :)

2 tests. Weekly lectures, take notes for the tests. Study guides for the tests. Weekly discussions from readings. The class is awesome, the professors lectures are really interesting and the information you learn is valuable. Professor is really great and makes the discussions worthwhile.

So you gotta do textbook reading, lecture vids, discussion, and replies. There's an essay and 2 exams. The discussions, essay, and exams make up your grade so do your best! Do more than the bare minimum for discussions and the replies to get an A. He's kind to his students and wants to get to know everyone!

Professor Tribbe is a great professor. He really cares what he has to teach you. You do have to read and watch lecture video(s) along with a discussion post every week but easy to maintain. Do pay attention to especially the lecture videos, a lot of what he says are on his two exams he gives. Also gives you opportunity for extra credit. He is great

This class is majority of discussion posts which are worth your grade. There are two exams and an essay which also impact your grade, but if you read and watch the pre-recorded video lectures, you should be fine. The feedback Professor gives on your discussion posts do help because for me personally, I was able to do better one them after that.

Took him during Summer classes and honestly, it goes by fast but he always makes sure to post an announcement whether there is a test or a reminder that there is work to do that day. It's very lecture-heavy, and he's a great teacher. In my opinion, I wouldn't take him again since I just needed him for credit but very solid teacher.

Take this class over summer! Way easier than it would be in an in-person class. 2 weekly discussions. 2 exams, and 1 essay. 3-5 lectures a week that are less than an hour long each. Professor Tribbe has a fun way of teaching history!

If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. This class requires you to read a chapter each week as well as watch ~one hour long lectures. And to participate on different days for each discussion. As long as you read the chapter as well as watch the lecture each week you should be fine. Requires one essay. Nice guy!

Wasn't a bad professor took it online. all exams are based on his lecture videos so watch they all the way through and take notes. Exams were not too bad so long as you watched the videos. There were discussions every week as well and were based on articles we would but up. Would say is only lecture heavy but would recommend for easy history credit

Great, engaging professor. Most, if not all, the material you're graded on is covered in the lectures, so attendance is necessary, but his lectures are really good and engaging. I'm not a history person by any means, but his way of teaching kept me interested in the subject.

Professor Tribbe's teaching style was effective for me because he was knowledgeable, engaging, and thorough. As a history major, I was able to build an appreciation for the field's vast scope.

Two discussions every week, lots of lectures around 30min - 1 hour. 1 essay and two exams (midterm & final). Take good notes and make sure you do lots of responses/in-depth posts for discussions. I recommend taking this class over the summer, it's a lot of work, but only five weeks. Professor is nice, knows his stuff, and answers all questions.

Really great professor! Took his history course over the summer so it was extremely condensed and time consuming. Professor Tribbe is kind, caring, and wants the best for his students. He is constantly sending out announcements/reminders for when things are due and grades fairly quickly. Very informative class. Take his class if you can!

Professor Matthew Tribbe made me love the subject of History. He presents all of the information in this course in an engaging and entertaining way. I thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to every lecture and even took it a second time just for fun. That said, lectures are what is most important in this class. Take really good notes.

Truly the best professor I have ever had. Great at teaching the material to make sure you understand. There are a couple pop quizzes & some readings. Yet, it is an easy class. Exams aren't too hard either. I 100% recommend Prof.T, he made history incredibly fun and he is such an amazing professor.

I've never excelled in history classes, as the material tends to get overwhelming with dates & names etc. But Prof Tribbe does an amazing way of presenting history in an engaging, educational manner. I never would have thought I'd get an A in a history class but this A was easy. Amazing teacher!! Made me want to take his next history class.

Great prof. By the time the semester ended, my notebook was on it's last page. But you NEED to take his pop quizzes very serious otherwise your grade WILL drop. I had to miss a few under certain circumstances and lost an A, but he does drop your lowest quiz grade. Make sure to take very good lecture notes and use plenty of examples in your essay.

Tribbe is a good professor. He contracts a loose outline for every class with several topics. Be alert when you take notes because that's what's on the test. You can't ask him to review his outlines in the future. You could always search test subjects up online

Professor Tribbe's history class was a great class to take. Definitely do your assigned readings from the textbook, listen to his lectures, and take notes, and you'll do fine. The textbook was a free download. It was an easy, easy class!!!! I learned a lot, and I plan to take another of his history classes.

Took the online class, only one discussion a week and you have to reply to classmates, but that's basically the workload. The rest is reading from the (free) textbook and watching his very detailed video lectures which I enjoyed. Only one paper the entire semester, he has a very strict AI policy but if you don't use AI then the class is an easy A.

Took online over summer. Don't take this class if you work a full-time job - it is particularly demanding of your time (2 hrs per day and that's if you're fast with it). Professor is a tough grader. Use quotes if you want an A. It's easy to pass the class, not easy to maintain a high grade if you're not very careful about it.

Responsive. Good lecture recordings. Just make sure your writing doesn't sound like AI, and you will learn and ace this class with reasonably small amount of work.
