nice guy. I liked that he got to the point with his lectures and was nice about getting people involved. take good notes in class and study them for the midterm
Mr. Wenzlau was cool, and made class real interesting. He didnt drag class out just for the sake of the time alotted. Finals were real clear, if you do your homework and study it for class you will be set.
Was a really good teacher and was actually pretty easy. the mid-term and final are take home and multiple choice. Easy to follow and you learn a lot!
Mr. Wenzlau was a good teacher. He is knoweledgable about what he is teaching and is a good teacher. His tests weren't what the class thought they would be, because it seemed like there were questions on the mid-term and final that we never talked about in class. He is a good teacher and I would recommend him.
This was a very interesting class. It took me awhile to get used to his loose teaching style in how his assignments have very broad guidelines but soon enough you realize he just wants to see students be able to discuss material with him. Very chill guy who's easy to talk to. Has interesting discussions in class and doesn't drag anything out.
Really smart teacher, also a lawyer. I think he was tired the semester I had him, he just had a kid and was working a lot. Homework is done in groups, it's pretty easy. We had probably like 7 homework assignments and 2 essays due. The first essay is min 7 pages!! Yikes. 2nd is an additional 3 pages on the 1st essay. Book is really boring.
Matt is a great prof. He's extremely smart and will stimulate the way you think about religion. He's open and sincere. It was a great class, I learn a volume of information and an a better person for what I now know...Thanks Matt
I really liked this professor and class material. If you want to know what current issues a musician or artist can encounter in today's world, this is the class to take!
Great Teacher, Easy Going,Gives plenty of homework. Has great class interaction skills and likes to have open class discussions and to hear different views of the subject.I learned alot from this class it is very informative of the new testament history. I would take another class with Proffesor Wenzlau.
This class was great. I was expecting an Intro to Christianity class to be dull and repetitive, but this class challenged me to ask "why"? Great professor and great class. Thanks!
I needed this class. I had contractual issues in my band, and the lectures from this professor helped me understand them. A+
Great Class... up to date info and addressed a lot of issues I was encountering in my entertainment career.
Great guy, easy going class structure and relatively informative. Learned alot of cool things and wasn't pressured at all. Great guy to who doesn't try and throw his power around.
I liked this World Religions class a lot. The subject matter was easy to understand, and walked away with some good information. A+
I work with a couple of bands and it helped me on current business issues. Tests were easy and class lecture was a "don't miss". A++
I'm a sophomore now, and I took this class for a prereq. Now I'm just happy I took the class. One of the more rewarding classes I've had. Thanks Matt!
GREAT PROFESSOR VERY INFORMATIVE ON NEW TESTAMENT MATERIAL. KNOWS HOW TO KEEP HIS CLASS INTERESTED. NEVER BORING. TEACHING STYLE IS EASY GOING WITH ENTHUSIASM AND IS HARD WORKING. I LEFT THIS CLASS LEARNING A LOT WITH OUT THE USUAL LECTURES THAT PUT YOU TO SLEEP. BUT STILL WAS EXPECTED TO WORK. WOULD TAKE ANOTHER CLASS OF HIS.
Good course. Tests are straight forward and easy homework. Plus, the professor is cool. Very laid-back and knowledgable.
I took this professor for Intro to Christianity (which was great) and this world religions class, which was also great. Very straight forward, homework was easy, and lots of extra credit. Highly recommend!
I come from a Muslim background and was reluctant to take this class, but the professor was able to take my religion and other religions and not make anyone biased or judgmental. I liked this class, I got an A, and felt that the professor respected both religious and non-religious students. A++
Good class for working students. I needed to take a course like this at nights because I work. The professor understood my work schedule and ensured that I had opportunities to get a good grade. Thanks Matt!
I took this Professor's MUC109 class, which was so helpful, and now I took the MUC295 class for marketing, and it was just as good. Valuable information that would cost a ton outside of classes.
Good Class. I took this class to fill a requirement. Professor was interesting, and tons of extra credit. I got an A.
Great Teacher, super helpful. Interesting talks in class. Don't like the textbook AT ALL, but he makes it bearable. Super personable professor and very helpful. I highly recommend him!
Just had a lecture on Ayn Rand compared with Paul's writings for this class, and it was mind blowing. A great discussion and worth the time. A+
Was an easy class. Had open book midterm and final. Everything in the tests he went over in the lectures. In order to pass you must attend all the lectures. Overall excellent teacher. I would recommend taking this class.
I took this class after taking his muc109 class... Knows his stuff and I actually learned something.
Needed this class for prereq... Good professor, challenging online discussion and helpful.
Good class. The professor worked with my schedule and made it interesting.
I learned a lot. The guy knows his stuff.
I took this class not knowing what i got into. Professor Wenslau made it so easy to come to class. Homework and finals as well as quiz were open book. He made the class easy. I strongly advise you for an A take him.
I liked the class, some cool discussions on current events and tests were straightforward. Have to attend class tho..
I took this course after muc109... Some good info and I was able to get answers to some stuff my band was going through.
Seems like most of these online courses were fairly similar, but this professor actually answered my emails and read our discussion boards, which I liked.
This wasn't bad... take home exams and weekly homework. s
This was for my last semester... It was okay... He's picky about you attending class though amd wants you to be on time?..
Okay.
Super interesting class, you have homework each week but it's easy. All the tests and final are take home and overall he is just a really good teacher. He is smart and quirky and also attractive. All pluses in my book!
He helped me with a business plan for my studio. This was good for what I'm doing right now.
Taken for transfer to ASU... It was fine... He answered my emails, which was good for online.
I just finished this course for summer online. It wasn't bad. I got an A and learned some stuff. Thanks Matt.
This professor continued on with more detailed info from his 109 class. I took both 109 and 110 my semester. I liked it because he answered real life questions and treated us like professionals.
This teacher was good. He wants you to participate in all the discussions and he is strangely picky about attending class, but also is a good class to get an A.
just finished the semester and I have enough energy to write this. The class was good.. mostly discussion boards and papers... the final was not easy... but got 2 tries at it. I had enough time for it all
Taken Spring 2014. Professor is very unprofessional. Would email with questions, his responses were rude or sarcastic. Added random assignments whenever he felt like it. All the tests were multiple choice until the final. The final was completely unrealistic & 30% of your grade. Needless to say I no longer have a 4.0. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES.
I had no problem with this professor or class... I had to call him about my final bc I got locked out.. After a 5 min call I was fine... Got an A
I am taking his 109 and 110courses in music and they are awesome..I like the info he gives because it helps me.
Apparently he practices law too... So he gave us real examples on things... I had to ask some questions on bankruptcy and he was really helpful
I heard good things about the business law class, and this one was good... his lectures were about actuall life things and his exams were take home... would take him again.
If you have book you don't need him. He basically read from book and give an example from real life. Homework is every week and a lot. Never replies on e-mails on time
Not bad class... 3 take home tests and homework each week... he likes to talk about real life examples like copyrights and employment law... it was good
I came back to MCC for his 109 class after the 110... the information actually saved me money for my business bc it helped with where I should actually spend.. I also got to ask questions about producer contracts, that would have cost me a ton somewhere else. Highly recommend.
The homework wasn't too bad... In his lectures, I was able to ask him some very specific questions about the law and my family's business, and he answered them all. Worth my time. Thanks Matt!
Just finished my final exam for this class.... take home... straight from the book... will get an A...
I would take again.
I liked his lectures.. they were about real life things like my job.. he didn't just read out of the book and the exams were take home. A+
He takes attendance every class period, so you shouldn't miss more than 3 class periods. All of his test, including the final are take home test, so you will need the textbook. Homework every week and also online discussions on canvas.
I've never felt more prepared for real life problems... his lectures are about putting the readings into real situations...I'm already using some of the info for my company... homework every week and 3 take home tests that you get 2 days to do... Matt rocks!
Good professor... listened to what I had to say and fair on grading.
The ratings are right for this class... you have to attend, but some of this stuff was worth my tuition. I'm very happy
Just Finished the online course... not bad... a little long, but actually had some cool discussions like on Affleck divorce... would take him again.
Assignments and discussions every week.. Mini exams with one final exam at end of course.. Okay.. I got an A.
Homework is due each week, with a discussion board post on their system. 3 take home tests. Have to attend. A very good course.
I liked this class. I'm opening my studio and there was some discussions on how to start a business and make a producer contract.
Taking Matt's class at 7:30 am was worth it as his passion and knowledge about the subject is seen through his lectures. He is a great professor that keeps everyone in the classroom involved. He gives 3 take home tests throughout the semester and has discussions and homework assignments that are due each week. I learned a lot from him!
Hated this guy at first. By end of semester loved him. His class 3 tests that are take home and lectures are on things like starting your own company and making a will. Would recommend to take.
He showed us a producer contract. I could use some of his information to help me with selling my beats
No partial credit for assignments done online, grading on the final was confusing and never received an email back on how the grading system worked.
I took him a couple of semesters ago and he talked about starting a business. I just emailed him for some info cause I couldn't remember and he answered me with the info I needed. That's pretty great for someone to do.
Good. The class discussions in class and then lecture with movies about music. Most points for in class work.
Finished the final exam. In class and open book. I learned a lot from him and was glad to take this class.
I'm in the schools management program and this class helped me decide on where to go. Matt's lectures were about things like bitcoin and trademarks and I though it was just great. He has discussion boards and in class tests, but he is a stickler about cheating and showing up. I liked it and thought it was great
Some good discussions. and not bad homework.
I take his class online and I hate it, I'm getting ready to drop it. In the very first week there were 4 chapters we had to read and four quizzes and assignments to do for those chapters, many people missed them and he would not reopen them, resulting in a huge loss of points. Too much work each week, don't take if you have a job and other classes.
He just showed us how to make a business in AZ. Tha't's pretty cool since it's what I want to do and I found it helpful and worth my money already. Class is good even though it s at 730 in the morning. :)
3 Tests for the semester. Homework each week and extra credits.
There's quit a bit of homework on this course, but its pearson, so pretty easy after a while. I emailed him a couple of times and he responded and that was nice. Make sure you do the posts right or he gives you a "0":(. But still good
I recommend taking this class.
Though I understand his method of instructing, I don't find it effective for an online class. He rarely replies to emails or questions. When he does, he uses a condescending and harsh tone. I would not recommend as an online professor for students who rely on communication and feedback.
This was a really good class. There were 3 tests in class, and he requires you attend, but some of this was actually helpful and beyond what I expected.
Everything that we discussed was something I was interested in (corporate law and business/finance). Honestly, it was good especially for a 730am class, which was hard to get up for sometimes.
He used Connect software and Canvas for most of the projects/discussions/tests for the online class. The homework is only available the week when it is posted; you cannot work ahead in the Connect assignments, but for the Canvas responses you may work ahead. I learned a lot from his class, and I'm happy to have taken his class online. I bought
Very good class. I learned a lot and was worth my time.
Tests are all group & open-book. Lots of homework, but it is really easy to get perfect scores on it. Case studies are pretty extensive towards the beginning of the semester, but get much easier/lighter. Extra credit is watching specific films and writing a brief summary and analysis related to course material.
I took his class since there is no more class to take, and I need this class to have enough 12 credits. His homework assignments are tough and time consuming. Everything comes from the book so I do not think listening to his lecture helps. His lecture is boring, but he requires you to come to class on time and all the time. DO NOT TAKE HIM
After taking his class, it made me want to continue on being a lawyer. A+.
Good class. It was a night class once a week, so it was long, but he made it bearable with some good lectures.
Good. Make sure you get the book
Worst teacher I have ever had, would not recommend taking this class. Gives a lot of homework. Belittles students, and has poor communication skills.
I liked that he knew these lectures from his being an attorney. The first par tof the semester was a lot, but it was really good by finals time.
There were a couple of classes where he talked about starting your own company and getting money for it. I really appreciated it because it was something i could use.
Good. Highly recommend. Definitely need the book but cheap on amazon.
He front-loads the first six weeks and thins the pack, after week 7 it's great and he makes the class a great stepping stone for the future. He has a lot of valuable knowledge and insight from his own practice. you will NEED THE BOOK and the first couple of weeks are intense but they get better, highly recommended, no quizzes, no surprises.
This was my favorite class. I liked his lectures and that he talked about bitcoin and the cyberworld. When i asked questions in class, he was happy to listen and respond. There are three tests worth a lot of points so make sure you show up.
Has interesting lectures. But does not communicate consistently and is very harsh when it comes to excused absences. Not very realistic for people who work and go to school or if you get sick.
We had a class today on patents and copyerights and it was really good. I have information that I can actually use for my photography . Thanks Matt!
A lot of case in the first weeks but gets better. Tests are with group so it helps to get a good grade.
I'm gonna be honest, this class is tough. There's a lot of homework. The book is mandatory because homework is in the book but tests are open book in groups so they are easy points. He mostly lectures in class but he's chill and funny and tries to relate what he's teaching to the real world. He's also a lawyer so he knows what he is teaching.
Chill professor also a lawyer. There is always homework but many opportunities for extra credit. He uses "turn it in" for papers. Book is mandatory. Group test help the most. Do not be late especially toward the end of the semester. Cares for you to be apart of the lectures and always ask for opinions and input.
There was homework but the tests were open book in groups. I actually liked the lectures most of the time.
****WARNING****, DO NOT TAKE HIM, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!!! I took this class as a credit, half the class was dropped near the end of the semester. He is a EXTREMELY UNFAIR GRADER. He LOVES, to give zeros. Stay clear of this professor.
Good. Lot's of homework but lectures were super helpful
It's a good class and prof wenzlau was good and answered my questions. He gives extra credit by watching movies but he is also pretty strict about cheating. I would take him again.
I liked business law and the class helped me with my home business.
He gave around 150 points extra credit. A great class to take!
The other reviews are pretty true. The class starts out with a lot of work but by finals time it was great. I got a b but could have gotten an a with extra credit. Good class!
Only reason I decided to make this review is for honors student, be aware about this professor. He doesnt work with any students on submission mistakes. For example I sent in two assignments that were due the same day and I swapped them accidentally. Even though they were done perfect. He didnt give me credit for either. Extremely stubborn
This professor is very knowledgeable and is great at answering any questions you have. But beware this class is A LOT of work, especially in the beginning of the semester. What you learn is very interesting though, so it is a great class. The textbook is mandatory. There are many chances for extra credit in the form of movie reviews.
I biggest gripe with this professor is the fact he DOES NOT respond to my messages at all whether I email or message through Canvas. This is extremely bothersome especially during a time when classes are pretty much all online. Probably would not have this problem had the class been in person, but responding to students should be expected.
Good class. For my major.
This class wasnt bad. It was a lot of work but I did some of e extra credit and got a good grade.
It was a lot work but there was extra credit to help. The class was good. Hes pretty strict about cheating so be careful. All hw and test are from the book.
The class was good. it had a lot of work because it was online but I did the extra credit which was movies to help my grade. I would take him again.
I took the short version of the class and it was a lot of work. The good thing was I could do extra credit and get a pass.
First off this class was a helpful class. But It was a lot of work and I thought a few of assignments didn't need to be given to us. His extra credit helped me and made things not as stressful. So it was fine and I got a B.
Good but I wanted to read less in the class.
I actually had this professor for a legal seminar (CLE), but couldn't find another rating system. He did a great job. Some really good info on privacy and intellectual property. If you have the opportunity to learn from him, I highly recommend.
