I highly recommend Mr. Winking for anyone that has a problem learning Pre/Algebra or Algebra. He offers an understanding of "how & why" something works, not just a list of rules to memorize.

He makes math understandable. He shows you different ways if you are not understanding. He can get a bit fast, but would slow down if asked. I wasn't afraid to ask questions or ask him to go over something again. He is very willing to help and listen to the students. I wish I hadhim for 1101 and had him for 0097. Highly Recommended

After being out of high school for QUITE a while, it was nice to have Mr. Winking's class as my intro back into school life. Even though it is a fast-paced class, he teaches in such a way that all my high school lessons come back easily. He's very helpful & patient. Awesome teacher!

For the record I hate math. For someone who dreads the thought of assembling numbers to make more numbers I was pleasently surprised as to how much I "got" his class. Mr. Winking is just another example of why GPC is a great place to start school. I went into his class hating math but after 2 semesters with him I found myself loving it. This was one of the best teachers I've had since being at GPC. I've had teachers that care about students passing but not to the point that Mr. Winking takes it. Mr Winking is the only Math teacher I recommend taking.He stays after class if you need him to and he'll also help you via email. I have to say I was really worried about going back to school after 14 yrs of being out, but after taking his class I was really looking forward to the rest of it. Just the way he taught kept me very interested in math and its not my strongest subject and gave me the confidence to keep going. Best teacher ever. Wish I had him for every subject.

He recognized I didnt belong in the class and told me I didn't have to attend except for test days. I ended up never opening the text book and finished with a B+ while missing a test and a quiz. He includes all his notes online weekly and will often upload tests or quizes the night before class.

He is very helpful and will go over and beyond but he does not curve grades. i failed his class with a 67.:( which is a bummer it all comes down to money now another 600 t pay for this class. u cant use notes either, remember formulas

I took Calculus in an online format, which really caused difficulties because of communication problems and the distance. It wasn't easy but Professor Winking was consistently extremely helpful and interested in our learning. He routinely went beyond what would have been acceptable and committed his time to any student with the interest to learn.

Although the professor is helpful and nice, that class itself is very difficult and requires too much busy work. Each test is two parts, written and multiple choice, each quiz is also written. For all written you have to scan in your work and convert to a pdf doc. Now thats ridiculous! Unless you have lots of free time on your hands, run far!

Took this class online. He was great. He made videos and had a notes print out for you to follow along. Just like taking notes in class. He even had a virtual classroom on Saturday morning for extra help. He explains everything very well.

He gives review so no need to panic just study your review and you will pass the midterm and final. Awesome at explaining things. Attended his Saturday morning lectures and they were awesome. I decided math because of this class, that's the kind of impact you'll get after taking his class. Take him and you'll be changed, trust me!

Took 1001. Most work done on MyLabMath (hw, quiz, tests) except for weekly discussions (you get a 100 for answering 1 question but extra cred for answering 2). Winking was very understanding and always gave me extensions when I needed it. Answers emails within a day. Glad he was my math professor this semester.
