Great English teacher. The best I have had. He makes things clear and interesting. He does exercises in class so that you apply what he teaches. He makes sure the class understands the lecture. He is fair.

I loved this professor. I highly recommend him. The classes were fun and he doesn't overload his students with irrelevant assignments.

Mr. Woodman is an excellent teacher. He makes english really easy. It was one class that I definately did not have to worry about all quarter. Very good in general and he's dedicated to his class. He would send out email notifications for everything. Such as if class was going to be cancelled or powerpoints from class or just simple reminders.

Woodman is the coolest teacher ever. If you hate english get into his classes. He is so helpful and the classes are interesting. He cracks jokes that are pretty funny. At first the class seems hard, but as it goes on is pretty easy. Totally take him, he is the BEST.

Woodman is such a laid back professor. He makes the student feel very comfortable. The work is moderate and isn't geared to make your life miserable because of the load, but to feel the accomplishment of improving your writing skills. He will never scold you if you don't understand something. His class seems to touch on philosophy as well.

For all of you people that cant pass the GWAR this is the class and teacher. He is super chill and makes it easy on you. You have three chances to pass the in-class writing and it counts for the GWAR. He also teaches you useful writing techniques that might help you in other classes.

Woodman is seriously one of the best professors i've had and he makes class fun and not a bother to be in.

I had to take this class because it is a general ed. requirement. I like English, but I hate research, and Woodman made the class very interesting because we discussed world issues and other things besides the basic comma splice errors. He kept my attention, and was really lightened the tension that English class atmospheres sometimes bring.

Dr. Woodman was absolutely one of the chillest teachers I have had the opportunity to have. Very clear, very friendly, and very reasonable. Syllabus in the beginning. Follow that and be consistent. He adds no stress and tries to avoid overworking the student. Good humor and good pace. Take this professor, you will not regret it.

One of my favorite professors at CSUB!! He is very nice and will respond to your emails asap. All one needs to do to get an A is go to class, do all the assignments and read all of the assigned books, which arenâ??t big. Definitely recommend this class and professor!

Professor Woodman is one of the best English teachers I've had. He is very interesting and funny during his lectures. The class requires that you write 3 essays and pass one in class essay with a C. That sounds like a lot but Mr. Woodman is ready to provide any help you may need and he is very approachable. I definately reccomend this course.

I thoroughly enjoyed Woodman's class. He is a great teacher who explains things clearly and tells you exactly what he expects from essays and other work. This class is not difficult... just show up, learn how to write essays, write a few essays, and you'll pass the class!

Professor Woodman is great! He is always in a good mood and willing to hear you out whether its regarding classwork or something else. He is very easy to approach if you have a question. The assignments are clear and he provides a great amount of guidance for completing each one. Take his classes!

Professor Woodman is the best teacher that I had at Bakersfield. He is absolutely wonderful @ teaching & thoroughly discussing the topic. He listens to your opinions & seems actually interested in what you have to say which makes him even more hotter. His personality is so charming that you cannot help but want to do well in the class b/c of him.

I'm currently taking Prof. Woodman and he is extremely knowledgeable in English and he makes the class fun too! He is always communicating with his students and has a great sense of humor. I wish more of my professors would be like him because you learn and I'm not keeping an eye on the clock like I am in most of my classes -__-

This professor is so good. I hate literature, but it fulfills one of the gen-ed requirements. He is extremely helpful and makes literature more interesting than any other professor. There is a lot of reading and writing, but he grades pretty easy. I highly recommend taking him for ENG101.

LOVE WOODMAN. Hes very helpful and super easy. Online it said we had to buy books so i bought them before class and it turns out they weren't required so i will resell them, heads up. Other than that i truly love woodman you should totally take him if you have the option for english110 hes always in his office hours if you need help on anything.

Mr. Woodman is AMAZING!! He is clear, nice, and HOT! he takes roll but most of the times he let us out super early except on in-class essay days. TAKE HIM FOR ENGL. 110!

TAKE HIS CLASS NOW. I needed his class for the necessary GWAR requirement. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about this class because the one and only time you meet is for an in-class essay for which I got an 75%. However, he gives you lots of helpful advice for the next two essays and there are easy points available for the blog post tasks.

Woodman is a great professor. He is very helpful and gives great feedback on your papers. Research paper was a piece of cake thanks to him. Would take again.

Great professor, he finds different ways for the students to work on the research paper which makes it easier and less stressful. He gives good feedback on essays and makes the students in the class feel comfortable with each other .

He helps anyone that asks for it and doesn't make you feel intimidated :) You have a research paper and he helps you work on it in class step by step so in the end it is pretty easy. He's a really great professor to have. His lectures are interesting and he is more than happy to clarify any questions you have. Just make sure to read the assigned material and take good notes because he may let you use notes for the mid-term and final exam.

Woodman is by far one of my favorite professors at CSUB! He is outgoing, sarcastic yet equally as eloquent, and just a fun guy. He encourages students to write what they are passionate about and encourages us to push the boundaries of creative writing. Loved his class and the atmosphere it gave off. He is quirky yet refined. Lets you retake essays including the in-class timed essay for as many times as you want if you want to get an A. Do the short exercises on his blogs, they really help a lot and stay updated every week for his emails to keep on track with the blogs. Make use of his office hours because he gives good feedback/helps you brainstorm for your essay.

He's a very good teacher. Makes sure you understand the material. Reviews the materials that are going to be on the exam. Very straight forward. Raise your hand and input your comments in order for him to know you. Will email you often about extra credit and assignments. One of the best professors at CSUB.

Woodman is a great professor who makes main concepts VERY understandable. After taking English throughout my entire education, I finally understand comma rules. He's great with giving back feedback as well! I've had few professors that have given feedback so quickly and so in depth. I would definitely recommend him.

Usually the notes are super helpful on midterms and the final. Make sure you do read the stories. If you skip it or class then you definetly have a harder time on the exams

Really cool professor. Really passionate about the material we are covering as well as caring about whether students are getting something from the class. We covered three books, 2 of them which are literature while the third was poetry. Essentially, we analyzed literary devices used and how were they conveyed.

Woodman is a superb Professor! He makes literature so alluring and really shows you the beauty of different strategies used in literature. Readings are super easy and interesting. Midterm and final are MC/short response and are really easy. Professor Woodman always starts class off by taking attendance and engages the class with daily questions.

I highly recommend this teacher because although English is not my preferred subject of choice as I have difficulty writing, he made this class super enjoyable. As long as you attend class, jot down some notes, and pay attention you will definitely pass even if you aren't the best writer. Definitely best professor I have ever had.

Professor Woodman is not only hilarious, but he also gives great feedback on assignments. His assignments are fun and great exercises if you want to teach English one day. His class truly felt like a creative family.

Dr. Woodman is by far one of my favorite professors at CSUB. He is always giving feedback which will help you in terms of writing. The class met only once a week for about two and a half hours, and let me tell you the class went by quick. He always had us doing something that made the class fun and interesting! 10/10 recommend!!!

Creative Writing was one of my favorite classes this Spring. Professor Woodman's feedback and lectures were absolutely helpful. The assignments were not at all difficult to complete; the hardest part was flexing your own imagination. When the online switch came, he was already prepared with YouTube lectures and was always available via email.

This was one of the best classes I have ever taken. Professor Woodman is passionate about what he teaches and always make the lesson interesting. He uplifts the class and provides us with insightful perspectives. Assignments are easy and the grading is very clear.

Woodman is a blessing to CSUB! He values the quality of students learning. Once most the class did not do so well on a paper and what did this Professor do?!?!?! He retaught the material and let anyone who got a C and below redo the paper with a different topic. His empathy towards his students showed me what kind of teacher I would want to be.

This professor is an amazing! He doesn't leave you in the dust to do these essays by yourself. He guides you through every step of the way to finishing the essays. You can tell he truly loves his job and cares about his students. He is also very funny during lecture so it helps brighten my day.

ENGL 3119 with Woodman was a very easy course to take. Very funny Professor, and the best I have had at CSUB. Class was graded off of two papers, a presentation that is combined with the first paper, and weekly participation assignments. Attendance is not required but the in class participation assignments pretty much write your papers as you go.

By far my favorite professor at CSUB, Woodman actually cares about his students and their wellbeing. I usually dont like English classes; however, I enjoyed his. Just do the weekly discussions/assignments and 2 essay and will easily get an A. Highly recommend Woodman!

Dr. Woodman allows you to be creative in your essays for this course. In addition, he makes every effort to be available whenever a student requires assistance. This is a writing course, so be prepared to write essays. He reads quickly at times, but you can tell him and he will respond to feedback.

Professor Woodman is the best English professor I have ever met. He is the best one by far. I am close to graduating and I had never met anyone like him before. He is amazing, and friendly. His class is very easy. He doesn't make students buy a textbook for Engl3119. He answers emails, and he is available during his office hours.

Dr. Woodman is an amazing professor. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. His lectures are short and to the point. He is very clear about grading and will let you resubmit work. Talk to him if you need an extension he is understanding. He is funny and the class is great. There are 2 big assignments and few small ones.

I honestly loved this class, and I would say Professor. Woodman really cares about what he is teaching. One thing I will say though is that make sure you are in class. It will go a lot easier for you and most of the time you finish your work in class because of how his class is set up. He is super funny and nice and will give you amazing feedback!

Woodman's class is honestly the best, the assignments are fun, he's also very funny. Never a dull moment being in his class. Assignments are pretty easy, just do them. Literally the only good professor I had at this university. His class is required, and he doesn't make things unbearable. It is clear he cares about student-life and tries his best to look out for students and their concerns. Good on office hours. Consistent on grading with helpful feedback. Easy to pass, and a good person to network with.

This professor is the best. It was my only English class I had to take and I'm glad i did. Make sure you attend everyday, as he does grade attendance and will make or break your grade. Mid term was easy, assignments were creative and he does ask for your ideas a lot so just participate, he's really funny so it's a plus and jokes around a lot.

English 1109 Professor Woodman is AMAZING! Definitely made my freshman year 10x easier. He does grade attendance but even after missing a class I wasn't far behind. He's very caring and funny especially for early classes. I would 100% sit through his class again!! he gives extra credit for educational events around campus.
