The most fun and helpful prof ever

Nice personality but has a thick and unsual accent which makes his speech difficult to understand. Also he alludes to many stories about how he is viewed as poor by others, and has a tendency to put down himself. On the whole, study from the text book!
All my real analysis I learned from him! Min- oo rules!!! It should be written on a big poster at the entrance to Hamilton Hall.
WOW! It took awhile to find an amazing prof, but here he is. Min-oo is great, and anyone who didn't understand him really was sleeping in class.
Dr. Min-Oo is extremely enthusiastic about math and he is great in his office hours (if he will stop talking), but his classes are just an hour of total randomness.

It is a very interesting course and a very funny pro
Great guy but he just will not shut up! Easy tests, but his lectures are bizarre. They are comparable to going to watch a stand-up comedy act that is not that funny. There was one class where he didn't mention a single thing from the course...he just rambled on about his person life. Oh my.

Easy class. Good prof, cool and laid back, will give you extensions. He's reaaally into math and seems to know a bit about everything even if it's not his area of research. No midterms, no final. What can be better?
Dr. Min-Oo inspired me to notice the beauty in mathematics. He is the best prof at Mac! Very enthusiastic, he loves math!

He doesn't really know how to teach; really likes to talk and get all the attention. In the term he picks his favourite students, makes sure they get an A+. As for the rest of us, he just gives a random mark (usually very low) without justification. unfortunately I had to also have him for analysis in 2nd year.
The most lazy and unfair professor at mcmaster university. He's a shame for the math dept to have him here. He randomly assigns grades to students. Doesnot even have the courtesy to answer students emails. So lazy, rude, and lied to our class.

Be careful if you wanna take math 3z03 with him. Minoo will only give you a good grade if he liked you as a person. It doesn't matter whether your paper is good or not. Trust me on this one! This year Minoo decided he will not give A+ to anyone. If you want to avoid a surprise mark avoid him! If he happens to like you, he will give you an A or A-
WORST TEACHER EVER! He doesn't even talk about math in lectures, he just complains about something random that he chooses for that day. It's horrible.. I've had 4 classes with him =(

I made Min-Oo for both 3g and 3z. Great prof. and great teacher. Very smart and makes the students think like real mathematicains.

Dr. Min-Oo tends to drift off the point too much, which obscured his oft-profound insights. He basically GAVE us the test questions beforehand, which is good for the grades, but I'm positive it's going to come back to haunt us all next semester. There's no doubt he's a brilliant man, but he's not much of a professor.
Prof has no teaching skills. He kills time by going off topic about various things irrelevant to the lecture. He thinks he's very smart and degrades his colleagues. He thinks he's a genius but he is not. His handwriting is so terrible!! Don't bother enrolling in any course taught by Min-oO
I took 3Z03 with him and loved it. He always talked about things that made math sound fascinating. So I took 3GP3 thinking it would be fun, especially since the class had no physics prerequisites I was sure I could handle it since I took geometry. Wrong! Every lecture I had NO idea what was going on! It was actually INSANE
He hated me and gave me B even though I deserved A-
The professor was always available during stated office hours and enjoyed the subject he was teaching. There was usually clear demarcation between knowledge that was required for tests/assignments and knowledge that was not. The only real flaw with this course was that there was no assigned textbook; this was the result of a departmental snafu.
Hilarious. I loved going to lecture with him, because everything seemed as if it were really exciting.... Not the best at clear explanations or organization. I learned everything from the textbook.

He was horrible for the 2nd year calculus course. He has no teaching skills at ALL!!! My friends who took 3rd year history of math course with him have told me that he was the worst prof ever, who assigned grades based on whether he thinks you are a smart student and your overall impression on him. He is a terrible prof and he should be fired.

This prof is totally WORTHLESS in all aspects. That one words sums up everything about his teaching and about him.
Dr. Min-Oo is very interested in the topics covered in 3GP3 and it showed in every lecture. The homework was very challenging but he was always willing to give his students useful hints (for any problems - not just 3GP3!) both in and out of office hours. He inspired me to apply to graduate school for math to continue my education.
Dr. Min-Oo is very enthusiastic about the history of math and genuinely cares about his students.If you put in the effort you will be happy with the results.Receiving a bad mark is not a reflection of his teaching style but more of your dedication as a student.Very approachable prof and always willing to go the extra mile to help his students.
I'd give him negative marks if possible. He does not deserve 1 out of 5 even. He is really that bad. Go Figure!!
Dr. Minoo?s 3Z03 is probably the most practical class among other math courses. His class is not easy, yet gives you an opportunity to apply/use mathematics in real world. At the same time, many of his lectures make you think, not memorize formulas. I did not get a high mark but I think at least it gives me a different aspect of mathematics.

Prof Min-Oo is the best prof I've ever had at McmMaster he's very helpful and really wants us to learn the course material he's genius and very smart and maybe guys who complain here are just finding it hard to pass or to have a good grade so they blame the prof. I am very lucky to have this term such a great prof. I am learnig a lot in his class.

Dr. Min-Oo is one of the best professors I know at McMaster. His style of teaching is great. He explains the subject very clearly and makes you interested in the math. He is also very funny and has a good sense of humour which makes the class even more interesting.

AMAZING Prof. If you are a serious math student who wants to HONE his/her problem solving skills, I strongly recommend you take a course taught by NONE OTHER THEN KENNETH MIN00. He will teach you how to think like a mathematician and hone your problem solving ability not just in math, but also in "real life problems"!!Brilliant prof. Very helpful!!
I completely agree. My math skills have been honed big time after taking his course. It has honed my problem solving ability. Taking his course will make you the next einstein!! He is that good.

This professor was horrible. He has low teaching ability and will make you hate the subject material. His lectures are so annoying and I most definitely donot recommend anyone to take a course taught by him.
Low quality lectures combined with hard exams and a poor attitude towards students created an all around bad learning experience. Taking minoo's math course is the last thing I would recommend someone in the world.
Extremely Boring. Turned me off the subject forever. After him, I don't think I'm intersted to take any more math courses. I got A's in first year math, but this prof does not how to teach. His handwriting is so bad!! I suggest people to take Math 2X03 instead of Math 2A03. Take 2X03 and 2XX3 so you can avoid Minoo
He Assigned us random grades based on his overall impression on the student, and not based on his/her work and efforts in the course. Huge disappointment in the end.
I hated the course because Min-oo never explained well. He set unreasonable demands on students and was condescending and unhelpful whenever approached for help. He hates helping students. Gives them dirty looks outside the classroom as if he does not know you. His Assignments were very unreasonable and difficult and he offered no help to students
Minoo is an excellent professor. His love for the subject is very admirable. He was always willing to help students out... even if it meant going out of his way. I spent many hours in his office and developed a much better understanding of the material as a result. Minoo is truly a genius and deserves a great deal of respect.

I am a straight A student. Every math mark I received was either an A or A+. I took Minoo's math3Z03 course since people said it was so easy, a "bird" math-credit, and he gave me a B+ even though I got excellent marks on the assignments, did great presentations. It was very unexpected and came off as a huge shock. He even gave B's and B-'s to some.
excellent professor. For me he is # 1. The # 1 Math Prof ever therefore I'm giving him all 1's in his ratings because nobody is better then him. Hope to take his 3rd and 4th year courses in the future.

He was a great prof. He really wanted you to learn. As long as you were willing to learn things, he did an excellent job of teaching it. He was very approachable, and always seemed to be in a good mood.
His classes really make you think. If you want to learn how to be a deep thinker, be sure to take every course taught by him. Excellent professor. He has a great social life. He is very friendly with students. When you go to his office, he engages in lengthy conversations about intiutive mathematical concepts. Really a pleasure to know him.
Amazing professor. Thinks very highly of his colleagues and talks about them on their back about how great they are, and how much he aspires to be like them. He often talks about how much he loves the math department at mcmaster and his colleagues, who are true mathematicians. He said he is very lucky to be working here. Very respectful professor.

Minoo has some very teaching superior abilities which are never recognized by the students. Students who think Minoo is a bad professor should not be studying at University level. Minoo is a true mathematician who deserves all the fame and respect than a lot of other math profs at McMaster. I am very surprised that this true genius is under-rated.
Good: Enthusiastic, Tests/quizzes are fair and exactly what he says they will be. I love his philosophies on life and little quirks that goes on in life. He also makes jokes, which I find really interesting and helps me keep interest and awake. He is a genuine nice guy who wants his students to succeed. I feel you just need to hang around his office and just ask questions in his office hours.
This man loves what he does, that's for sure. Great guy but tends to lose students in class by going off on tangents; get ready to use your textbook a lot. Also, I have to say that I loved his breakdowns of midterms/exam - straight to the point, fair, and quite helpful.

Great teacher. He is insanely smart and has very insightful ways of thinking about math. People who don't like him, care too much about marks and less about learning.
This guy is absolutely awful. Goes off on tangents constantly, which is very distracting. He is an atrocious lecturer, his blackboard notes are piss poor, and his organization of the material is abysmal. Very social but his comments are sometimes off-putting. Having stats with him will most likely turn you off the subject permanently.
