For a class in one of the social sciences, if you see this professor listed, you have to take her course. One of the most intelligent people I have found at PHCC, and a true professional. Will give you a whole new perspective of the world as you know it.

I didn't expect to, but I loved this class. Prof Collins is brilliant, kind, and passionate about her subject. I knew that the topic of gays was going to come up, and as a newly out lesbian, I was nervous that it might get ugly. Prof Collins kept it safe for everybody tho, and I have to admit, I wound up with a monster crush on her!

I am so surprised by some of the ignorant comments of my classmates. Prof Collins is one of the most brilliant people walking the planet. She taught very complex cultural phenomena in a way that was completely understandable to novice soc students. I would highly recommend PHCC offer more classes taught by Prof Collins.

Prof. Collins put sociology into perspective for me. My ideas have changed and I feel more compassionate. This teacher is brilliant. She is extremely attentive to the students needs. She didn't mind explaining things more than once for those of us that didn't get it, and used relevant examples to get the point across. I enjoyed this class alot.

I enjoyed so many things about Collins class - the eye opening (sometimes humorous) lectures, the freedom to share my thoughts/ideas, the relationship she helped all us students build in class. She cared and wanted nothing but the best for us all. By the end of the semester, I had learned so much about myself. For that I will always be thankful.

Professor Collins is incredibly good at opening your eyes to social situations. She finds a way to explain intricate details pertaining to the course so it is easily understood. Definetly take her class!!!! You won't regret it!!!

I took Collins for Women in American History and Absolutely loved it. She is incredibly funny and easy-going as long as you do the work. I recommended her to all my friends. I looked forward to her class. :)

I have taken all of the classes she offers, she is great! Attendance is mandatory and she does take off your grade if you skip, but she is fair and a very good teacher.

I took Her for Marriage and Family, she's a nice lady, Good class with some eye opening discussions. There are no tests, most work is done in groups, don't skip, don't be obnoxious, she'll call you out.

By far one of the best prof. On campus!! Take all her classes if possible! Very interesting, and cares, knows a lot. Far from boring! No test, group work, but you have to try. She will inspire you to make this world better. I will miss taking her classes!!! And very much encourage guys to take her classes as well!!!

Excellent class! Professor Collins is an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable instructor. Her passion for justice is a driving force in her work-and her life-it is very apparent to her class. She proclaims her students to be the "heroes" of the story in righting the wrongs of our society. Truth be told, she is the real hero who inspires us all.

I dreaded, completely dreaded the thought of having to take public speaking and this professor turned it around for me 110%. By the last couple speeches, I was even looking forward to giving them! She makes you feel very comfortable and the class feels like one big family. Highly recommended!

Wow! I am not disappointed with this class! Literally the best class I have taken yet, to date. You will learn so much, overcome more than you thought and come out of it being glad that you picked it. This is my second class with Collins, and I know there will be more! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Brilliant and inspiring

Amazing professor BUT (of course) she expects you to be on time, actually do her work, and be prepared for your presentation. She merely wants us to live in a better world. Have an open mind and never get offended. She teaches the shocking truth (and has the research to back her) and not everyone is prepared for it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!! She loves to sing, smile, and tell cool facts! I've taken her maybe 4 times already and can't stop going back. I took her for Public Speaking and let me tell you, she is the most amazing teacher I have ever had. She gives no tests and gives you amazing direct feedback. She is insanely intelligent and I cannot wait to take another class she teaches.

I have taken Collins three times now and all of her classes are almost the same. Be ready for a group project and some short papers. She's pretty lenient when it comes to due dates, just don't turn in everything on the last day. If you participate and do the papers the class is an easy A. Also, after four absences she'll drop you a letter grade.

She seems scary at first but she cares for her students when it comes to being comfortable when speaking in front of the class. There are 3 speeches you have to do and she will call you out for not practicing the speech. At the end of all the speeches given she will tell each student what they need to fix in front of the whole class. Great teacher.

Prof. Bridey C. has changed my life. If you're considering take her introductory Sociology class, you won't be disappointed. She is an extremely educated person who has a way of captivating the attention of an entire class while lecturing, just from the sheer sincerity behind her words.

Pick your groups wisely (you may not even get the chance to). This class is heavily group oriented and a bad group can make your workload ten times harder. I got stuck with 2 people who did literally nothing the whole semester and it had a huge toll on some of my other classes. On a side note, Professor Collins is the brightest human being ever.

Professor Collins is one of the most inspirational teachers. For Public Speaking, she grades on your ticks, repetitive word use, topic use and more. Overall, she truly believes and will grade on those who work HARD. Put effort and show it through your presentations. She grades on 3 speeches only (Informative, Persuasive and Demonstrative).

An amazing, caring, fun professor to say the least. She really cares about the society we live in and wants to make an impact on her students.

Professor Collins gives great lectures, 10 easy journals in the course of the semester and individual research paper. However, dont let the team project scare you, its really just a collaboration with your group and all your ideas combined. Also, attendance counts towards your grade. Overall, Intro Sociology is an easy A class.

Prof: Overall she was interesting & funny. Can easily be seen as someone who leans far left & shows it. HOWEVER, if you allow her to speak & give her a chance, anyone would enjoy her & take a lot away. Class: Very easy, just do exactly what she says & youll get an A. There is a large group project but just dont wait and youll be fine. Great class

Very wonderful teacher, but was rough on me because she felt that I could do better. I got a straight A in her class but she still managed to make me feel bad because she thought I wasn't trying hard enough. She was caring but also, she could be very rude to students because she assumed they were simply slacking off instead of needing help.

Professor Collins is incredibly knowledgable. Her lectures are interesting and I always learn something new when I come to her class. She is passionate about social justice, which is why I love her so much :) Easy A!

Group presentation is the main assignment in this class along with a lot of short essays. Good lectures, although she often repeats pieces of past lectures. Attendance/participation is 30% of your grade. If you do what she asks youll easily pass. I missed one class, turned everything in on time, worked in my group project and finished with a 100.

This was so far my favorite college class. I took her for public speaking! Professor Collins makes you feel very comfortable with the students in your class so that it isn't scary when you have to present your speeches. As long as you do as she says, you will get a good grade. Attendance and respect are important.

Professor Collins can seem intimidating but genuinely has the biggest heart for her students. It is evident that she loves teaching about the issues in the world in hopes of the future generations stepping up. Her assignments are very clear and as long as you follow the rubric you will get an easy A.

I had the pleasure of taking Public Speaking this semester with Professor Collins. We had to do four speeches; however, she was very detailed about what she wanted. Be prepared to earn the grade you truly deserve, as she does not award grades based upon what you need. Overall, a great professor and I would 100% recommend her to anyone! DONE REMOTE

Professor Collins truly challenges me (the class), and when I say that, I mean it, in a great way! She makes me look at life through a different set of eyes. I have to say, I've learned more about life in her class than I have anywhere else. For that, I say Thank You, Professor Collins!!

I have yet to complete this course but have so far been enjoying it very much. Her lectures are great and she is just the sweetest. She is very thorough and goes exactly by her grading directions. She loves seeing her students faces and enjoys answering all your questions. Definitely recommend her course!

I took her for Intro to Sociology and it was an easy A. She is super sweet and cares that you are there, it is a super easy class and you aren't asked to participate much. I'm also bored in classes but this class is only an hour and I learned a lot. She only lets you have four absences and doesn't like you to be on your phone in class.

She really wanted the best from us and did her best to help us achieve it. Her critics were always super helpful and the assignments were pretty easy you just needed to make use of slideshow, pictures (+30) and know your speech. she fostered a fun class and made us get to know each other which im gonna miss. we also frequently got out early.
