Professor was not helpful at all. Did not grade all assignments and no information given for low grades. I love English and this teacher made me hate the class. Definitely would not recommend her to anyone.

She is very confusing. She gives your paper a zero if even you messed up in one area. Quick to anger and even cursed at me! She never responds to emails and gets angry when you email her with questions. Don't take this class with her!!!!! P.S one time I had an appointment with her and she didn't show up.

Dr Cahill might be a good teacher in person, but her online class was a nightmare. Her blackboard and syllabus are unorganized. This course should have been easy. With the lack of organization and clarity of some assignments, I feel bad that some students will experience this class and have a bad impression of what college is supposed to be.

For english 111 this class was extremely time consuming. Cahill gives SO many assignments, it was ridiculous!! Extremely tough grader and not helpful at all. Instead of correcting work, she would just tell you to read someone else's. Confusing syllabus. Assignments are everywhere. Takes forever to respond to emails. Not helpful at all.

Only feedback she gives is negative. Takes off for little things and doesn't show you how you can correct them. Aren't clear on some assignments. Gives a ton of work to complete If you need help she is not the teacher to take!

The in seat class had to still do all the online assignments and discussions, if you are not good at simply watching a video and learning something this is not the teacher for you. Grading rubic is also ridiculous, the only way to get an A on a paper is to 'be interesting', which really is a matter of opinion. Worst teacher ever.

DO not take this class on line!I repeat do not take her class on line! she simply is not a good teacher as far as online goes. she is not organized and does not reply to emails or she gets upset for asking questions,her feedback is ridiculous and doesn't make sense and she fails about 10 people per semester. and you will have a heavy work load

By any means, pick another teacher. She has the worst grading policy i have ever seen. She will give you a zero for a response that is less then 2 sentences long. You will get a zero if the work isn't how she wants it even if you submitted it on time. She will not give you half credit for even trying. PLEASE don't waste your time and money.

Dr. Cahill in my opinion was making a lot of mistakes, she wasn't clear on assignments, and it was hard to get her to help me with writing materials. Dr. Cahill didn't answer or graded papers in a timely manner. She was forgetting to post discussions in DB and was all over the place. I really had a hard time trying to understand her.

She is psycho. The most disorganized course I have ever taken. She made a mistake and change my grade at the last minute from a B to a C. It was entirely her fault. She never grades or responds to questions on time. There is no redeeming feature about this evil person. Never go near her or her class.

Dr. Cahill expects top notch work, however, when asked to break down the instructions she did not know how to explain it. I once asked her to explain a portion of the feedback on one of my assignments and she replied along the lines with, "go to your graded assignment for feedback." Oh my goodness, I had already seen the feedback.

Said she rushed to make the syllabus as she thought the class would be dropped- said to let her know her errors in the syllabus. Constantly referenced links that didn't work. Often unreachable by email and phone for days on end, might respond mere hours before time due. Weekly deadlines on Friday. Very confusing and unprofessional. Do not take!!!!!

I didn't receive any feedback until after it was too late to drop out. I actually didn't even get any feedback really, just failed too major assignments for reasons I'm still not sure. She graded my second assignment first and then told me I had the same issue in my first but didn't explain or try to help. Then she started ignoring my emails.

Do not take this professor. She doesnt grade any work on time. She failed me on two assignments because it wasnt done her way. If you have the option to take someone else, do that instead. She picks over your papers and doesnt respond to emails. She is also sarcastic a lot when you try to ask questions about the work.

I wish I would have come here before taking this awful lady's class. I feel like she is miserable somewhere in her life and takes it out on her students when she wants. Her dates don't match the post dates sometimes. It seems like extra work is posted and she may or may not grade it. If the work its perfect you get less than half the credit.

She is awful. She doesn't grade anything in a timely matter. Doesn't know how to use Blackboard. You turn in a paper and she doesn't grade it until after the next paper is due, so how are you suppose to know what you need to work on. Choose another professor to take this class.

I took her online class, she was never available for video chat or anything when I had questions regarding assignments, this includes barely responding to email. Her feedback wasn't clear nor was her expectations. do not take her class online, in person is best

Absolutely terrible teacher. No matter how much work I put into an assignment, i always receive half or no credit at all. When confronted on the manner, she said I didn't follow the rubric. When proven that i did, she falsely accused me of plagiarism and stopped responding to my emails. Now she gives all of my assignments 0's. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS

Worst professor, I wish I had come on here to see the reviews on her before taking her horrible online class. She is very unorganized with her work. Her assignments and feedback aren't clear at all. When I email her asking to clarify, It left me more confused. Terrible teacher online, Don't know about in person.

It is extremely disrespectful to falsely accuse someone, who spent hours upon hours working on an assignment, of plagiarism with 0 actual proof or reason to. Having something I spent so much time and effort into slapped back into my face with a 0 and a Do it again immediately for a different score left me feeling disgusted. She should be ashamed

I don't even know where to start. I spend hours upon hours on my assignments, following the rubric and requirements, and am accused of plagiarism after citing every single source I used and given a 0 and issued an immediate rewrite. I'm absolutely confused on what Dr. Cahill wants from her students, when we follow her rubrics. Frustrating.

Very confusing and unorganized, often removing/adding assignments as well as adjusting due dates at the last minute. Very sarcastic or snippy when you are simply asking for help or clarification on something and often replies late if at all. Overall, felt very overwhelmed and confused with assignments due to poo organization and constant switches.

UNLCEAR ASSIGNMENTS/DIRECTIONS. REFRENCES OTHER UNIVERSITY POLICIES. OFTEN TALKS IN CIRCLES BUT MAKES ZERO SENSE. HORRIBLE AT REPLYING AND PROVIDES NO INDIVIDUAL STUDENT SUPPORT.

I'm actually pretty good in English but she made turning in assignments confusing and unclear. It is also difficult to reach out to her for clarification. I called and emailed numerous times and none were returned. She understands and expects us to understand computer issues happen on her end but not the students end. She picks who she cares about.

Dr. Cahill should have significant remediation by the Dean, suffering from the same deficiencies in teaching for years. Her expectations are often absurd, threatening zeroes for minor issues on major assignments. It is a shame that what may be a person's last exposure to literature in school is made a misery by her. No room to explore the books.

This professor does not deserve the title of an educator because she is far from it. She is very disrespectful to her students and puts herself on a nearly perfect pedestal. She expects so much as if she isnt the one teaching at a community college. Do better and humble yourself its not like youre reading at Harvard Honey. Sorry. Dont take her.

Tough grader is an understatement. Very first major assignment she gave the majority of class zero for minor mistakes. Then sent out a very unprofessional and borderline disrespectful email. She offers rewrites but that process its self is not worth it because her feedback can be very unclear at times and again borderline disrespectful.

One of the worst English professor ive had. Cahill can be very rude at times and her expectations are in the clouds. Extremely unsatisfied from taking her course. She doesnt even teacher just a bunch of links and videos.

Bro NAH. Dont take her class. Other peoples testimonies are true. She is by far the TOUGHEST grader. She literally critiques every small thing in your paper and will find the smallest faults. I sometimes think Im in a Harvard English class because of how much she expects but the content she assigns is basic.

I would NOT recommend Ms. Cahill because even tho she has her own rubric. She doesn't follow it. If you mess up a little on the MLA formatting instead of following where the rubric says you should get 20 points, she gives you a zero. Why have a rubric if you are going to grade how you want.

Lectures were incredibly boring and lots of time was her rambling. Even her material was from free links and sources which she didn't even seem to follow when grading alongside her rubric. Often her criticism was vague or harsh at times for a minor mistake. Rewrite process was not even worth trying. Do not take this class.

Do not take a class with this professor. She had the cummulative grade locked the entire semester so I never knew my actual grade. She graded based off stuff that was never actually in the instructions. It was so textbook heavy. Worst class I've ever taken.

Never again would I choose such a picky teacher.

Would not take this class again. I wish TCC would offer additional classes, only took this class because it was the only available one under this code. She uses her own grading, does not show us the way she wants things done but just tells us and expects us to know, but then goes on to provide her opinionated feedback...

Very very disrespectful. I took her class online and she refused to schedule a zoom meeting with me because the class was considered asynchronous. Confusing because her syllabus offers a zoom link and office hours to schedule meetings?? I struggled a bit with an assignment and reached out for help via email and she responded condescendingly. 0/10

RUNNNNN AWAY! She is such a rough grader. Lots of papers and her directions aren't that great!

This professor does not teach and is not available. She does not answer emails and refuses to conference over Zoom. All of the material is from outside links and long assignment descriptions. She will provide a rubric but not use it; instead, she will provide feedback that is opinionated and non-helpful for revising and resubmitting the assignment.

BEWARE!! She is genuinely the worst professor at TCC. SO condescending and disrespectful. She is the toughest graded I have ever come across. I got a 47 on my final paper that I had multiple people review, some with MBAs. She is THE WORST! If you are not religious before taking the class, you better pick one and pray.

TAKE MY ADVICE! If you're considering Maureen Cahill, THINK AGAIN. She provides no real instruction, only harsh grades and inadequate feedback. First-year students, this class leaves a terrible impression of college. You DESERVE a professor who genuinely cares about teaching and helping students succeed..I thought that was their job. I am mistaken.

there's too many things to explain. don't take this professor at all. it seems she would perform better without students or something. i had spoken to other students who've taken her and its either completely negative or neutral. also she either gives zeros, half grade, or grades everything a week or two later. just removes any self esteem haha !!!

Miss Irish Maureen has no idea what she's doing. I will say her videos were informative. Too harsh of a grader for just a community college. Maybe she wishes she worked at a university. Unbelievable! In all my years!! 😥

Maureen Cahill does not communicate well. She's not clear on what her expectations are. She does not know how to work Canvas. She doesn't put her assignments in order. She was rude. She does not seem to be invested in teaching. She is difficult; she will fail you. I felt mentally exhausted! No sign of care or encouragement! I would never recommend

I'm only three weeks into this class, and it's insane. The prof seems to be on a constant power trip, as if she is better than all of her students. She takes forever to grade and is very nitpicky. I got 10 points marked off and told to "watch out for cliches" on a question that asked about my own PERSONAL definition of what it means to be a woman.
