Great professor who is extremely knowledgable in her field. Writing assignments daily should be all in class writing instead of typed responses, but her class is worth every piece of paper used.

I took her spring 04 and she was really nice. She knows what she does and wants everyone to pass. Extremely knowledgable in her field. U may feel like theres too much work but not reallyy.

Dr. Dana makes other SCC instructors look terrible by comparison. Troy Myers, who teaches ENG321 said of Maureen: "She's a hard act to follow, Maureen knows her****." That she does, English Majors look this way.

She's an excellent instructor. Her class made my 300 class seem like a breeze in comparison, but she's helpful in office hours and lets you revise a paper. She also gives lots of extra credit assignments though you can only total 40 points in extra credit.

She's knowledgeable and clear. Do your work, read, participate... you're bound to learn quite a bit from her.

Prof. Dana's Eng 300 class is very challenging but you learn how to write clearly in her class & she will challenge you to meet her expectations if you want an A. She grades tough but she is allways there for advice. This is by no means an easy course but I want to be challenged anyway. Easy A's are for suckers.

Maureen is very systematic type of teacher who talks pretty fast. Although she does give you lots of work, it makes the time go by fast. She implements group discussion and group projects which seem funner and gets you interested in the topic at hand. If you are open to wanting to learn more about literature, then the class can go by a lot smoother

Very nice teacher, extremely organized! Homework schedule will be on the board as soon as she came in. Learned new things throughout the semester and is very easy to pass the class. Notes maybe allow for the quizzes.

Professor Dana was extreamly hard overall, and she expects alot out of you.If I had it to do over again I would stay far far away from enrolling in her class again.She marks you down points for each min you are late on the days that anything is due & a whole letter grade if you don't do your rough draft exactly to her standards.

She is very nice and it is true she won't leave no one behind. She is also very helpful, but it comes to understanding from her, how to put this in a way she will make you open your mind and you WILL understand. She is not strict, but just do the homework and the assignments also the quizzes and you will pass her class.

if english is your second language, just dont take her class. she will treat u unfairly even you think you are a good writer. you will have an assignment for everyday, if avoidable, i wont take her class! ok! we had 4 paragraph, but one of them is in-class. also, 4 essay, only one of them is out class. harder grader~!

I found her very very helpful very understanding, all you have to do is talk too her and let her know what is up & be honesty & she is more then willing to work w/ you on what you need..I would take her again as a teacher...

Maureen Dana is a great instructor! Very helpful. If you need help she is willing to work with you. Fair grader. 5 out of class essays and 3 in class essays including the final. I hate writing essays but her class was actually good.

Dr.Dana is the best english teacher I have taken so far. She is very helpful with her students. The class is fun and easy to pass..just do not miss class a lot or else you wont pass the class. You will learn a lot when taking her. Im still using some of the methods she taugh me.Good to take her with you EngRd class,good stuff they go hand and hand.

Nice teacher and at times helpful!There is 7 essay's in total!Four out of class and three in class! If you do great in the out of class essay but horrible in the in class essay you will fail her class!She does grade hard! I pass her class with a C!Overall she is a good teacher and i would recommend taking her!

If you are lazy & want to skate thru an ENG class, do not take her. She gives a lot & I mean A LOT of reading. (We read 3 full novels + 3 Norton anthology's) Yes we didn't get 2 fully discuss each reading but its a SURVEY class. She exposed us to great work, which is what a survey is supposed to do. Examines are also no joke. Overall great prof.!

Wonderful prof! Very helpful and clear. There was 3 in class essays [department standard] and 4 out of class essays. Got help and did good on all. Required to read a book and take quizzes on it but I barely read and did decent due to class discussions on it. Do your work and ask questions, should be fine.

Lots of reading, though I only read a third of what was assigned. There's in class discussion and some in class writing. There's a few papers but they're easy if you start a little early. She's very kind and easy to talk to so if you need any help, you can definitely get some. Also, she kind of looks like Twiggy? Good teacher, take her.

Nearly everyday we'd split into pairs or groups to discuss before discussing as a class - felt like middle school. She'd add extra reading because she liked the stories, so most people didn't read making the group time awkward. Very intense eye contact, very loudshrill voice, not open to new opinions and spoils story's endings. -Sorry so negative

Maureen is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is clear, kind, and obviously passionate about literature. The pieces we read were excellent, as were the following discussions. She has high expectations of your work, but she is very helpful and gives a lot of feedback. I wish she were teaching Brit Lit too, I just loved her!

Awesome teacher. She gives good feedback on all papers, cares to make sure that everyone understands her lessons. I suggest to use her office hours for essay questions because she'll have more time to go through and really give a thorough review.

Yes just like any other class, you must follow the syllabus, and bring the recommended materials to class. I toke this professor during summer 2017. She is nice woman. She is a good professor. She has a good method of lecturing, but she is very tough grader. We had 4 in class and 4 out of class essays. I got A in all of out of class essays and 3 Ds and one C in inclass essays. we used three books. Be ready to read a lot. I am going to take her again 300

Professor Dana is one of the best English professor I ever took! She explained the material well and made sure that she answered everyones questions clearly! She allows you to revise any of your essays that you didnt do well on! gives a lot of feedback on essays before they are due so you can make changes!

She allows revisions and she wants you to succeed, but you must put in the work as well. She gives great feedback to ensure you get a good grade. She taught me real proper formatting and prepared me for future essays.

Professor Dana was so great this semester given it was online. She was always so nice to us and gave awesome feedback on our presentations and made sure to show us she cared. I would definitely take her again :)

I have taken this professor for two classes now, and I have never dreaded going to her lecture. She is very understanding of peoples personal situations, and genuinely wants people to succeeded. Groups discussions and review are common, as well as papers, both long and short, but by being active and participating you will do just fine.

I took her class FULLY ONLINE! Prof. Dana's class was honestly super easy, avg. amount of work, and I felt like I learned alot. There are the usual DB's, short readings, and essay but she gives LOTS of time and gives out reminders of what we should be working on. HIGH RECCOMEND.

Professor Dana was great! She took time to make sure we understood the material, and encouraged participation. Taken in conjunction with ENGWR108, you get a lot of attention and help with work. As long as you show up and try, she'll help you pass.

She cares about her students and lot and their success. Kinda seems like an avid class for college. It's just to help with success and guidence. Only thing I didn't like was the group projects, but thats because I dont like them in general. Overall good class, would recommend.

I love Professor Dana. This class was very easy but can be very helpful if you are just entering college. I recommend taking this with Professor Dana because she cares about all of her students and is a very motivating professor to have when you are taking a lot of hard classes. We even had an end of the semester potluck. Super fun class!

Professor Dana's class was a great intro to college. She's caring and motivating. The group projects were tough, but the class was easy overall. unstuckstudy was super helpful for prep - saved time compared to just the textbook.

Loved this class mostly because of the great teaching. Engages with the material really well as well as the class. Lots of reading tho but it really helps and you can lwk just skim through it. If you put in a decent effort for essays you will usually get a 90 or higher. Go to class but end of year you can skip hella. dont abuse and ruin it bums
