Completly compitent proffessor. Makes the class interesting with stories and such, but does not go off track; they always pertain to the subject matter. tahke good notes and study a little and you will do fine.

She's awesome. I thought it would be boring, but it was my favorite class. She makes it interesting and is a true "teacher". Wish there were more like her. It's not an easy A, but if you show up, take notes, and spend a few days studying for the exams you'll do well.

Show up to class and study. It was an enjoyable class but not easy. If you are looking for an easy way out this is not it. But I would recomend taking her class. She is very nice, and interesting.

Super nice, funny, helpful, interesting; the best teacher I've ever had. It's not the easiest class I've ever had, but you'd have to be pretty lazy to not get the grade you want. She gives you study guides so you know exactly what's going to be on the test, and take home quizzes to focus on what's more important.

awesome teacher, she is understanding and you know what she expects from you, you show up for class and try and she will work with you, I went to her office for some clarification a few times and she was there ready and willing to help me understand what I needed to understand.

Great teacher! Very helpful! But you have to study to get good grade. I got A but it was not easy.

Ms. Hockenberger's lectures were very fun and they were easy to understand but it was her tests that killed me and why I dropped the class. I am looking forward to taking sociology again, just under someone not as difficult.

Mrs. H is Great! if you have to take sociology, take her!!! she gets into the lessons and makes it fun!! one of the best professors i've had yet. The tests are pretty hard though, memorize as much as you can!

She is one of the funnest techers ive taken. If you take intro. to sociology i would def. take her.

She loves what she teaches, and makes it interesting, but isn't easy. Go to class and take notes. Study for your tests, they are hard! She sometimes talks about politics too much in my opinion, and I wouldn't ever dream of debating with her! Overall shes a tough love teacher!

Make no mistake: Ms. H teaches HARD. I'm an A-average Psych student, and I struggled. But she clearly LOVES the material, and she makes it come alive. If you're willing to work, and want to understand this field, she's the teacher to do it for you. And she will take the time to help you if you don't understand the material.

Ms.H is amazing! But her tests are the hardest tests you will ever take. lol. If you don't read the section's in the book that she assigns and don't come to class every single day, you will fail, but if you do right, she will love you and you will love her! :)

If you aren't ready to learn, don't take this class. Ms. H is a wonderful teacher with a gift to give you a new perspective on how we live, but you have to study in order to do well. This is a college level course that will rock your socks, but it is well worth it. I highly recommend this class to those who wish learn more about their world.

WOw! Most knowledgeable teacher I've ever had. Entertaining, interesting, thorough. Lots of notes, tests aren't bad. She makes sure you understand, very willing to help. Ms. Hockenberger is one of my favorite teachers. She goes outside the box to make things interesting and to sink in. She's very smart, good sense of humor, and knows her stuff. I would look forward to her class every time. It was always incredibly interesting to me, mainly because of her. I would definately recommend anyone to take Ms.Hockenberger

Hardest teacher I have taken at TCC, and that is saying a lot. You must be there everyday, she does NOT let you out early. Study extra hard if you just wanna pass. This is an Intro class not a Junior or senior level course. Overall good teacher though but really hard to pass.

I took this as an online class. super easy didn't take much brain power. all of her test where online and easy to cheat. She gives out a lot of mini assessments in the beginning of her class but towards the end not much more than book work. I spent less than 1 hour a week completing all her work. super easy, blow off class.

Ms H is a wonderful teacher. I took this class online. There IS alot of work!!! Lots! But, it is simple, and she really is creative in getting you to understand. She always answered my emails w/in the same day I sent her one. I would love to take another one of her classes.

I took her on an internet class. It was fairly easy though there was a lot of work. She get the material through to you pretty well. Because it's online you can have your note in front of you for the tests but there usually a few essay questions too. Ok online but I don't see how people pass those test in class without their notes.

I loved this class and this teacher!! Yes you need to go to class, but she hands you every bit of info you need. She even tells you exactly what sections and pages of the book you need to read. As long as you go to class and take notes (which she tells exactly what to write) you will be fine.

I loved this teacher! She does a great job of covering the material and she gives you reviews to make sure you know what to read and study. The first test was a bit hard but after that it got a lot easier, as long as you attend class and study. I highly recommend you take her class!

MRS. H was sooo cool! She covers alot of material BUT is very clear in teaching so that you have an understanding. Quizzes were take home and exams were challenging. You'll have fun in this class and learn alot of interesting information. Overall, I'm thankful to have had such a down-to-earth prof.

Mrs. H is an excellent professor. She is very structured and makes the material clear and understandable. Yes, it is ALOT of information, but take home quizzes are a big help and study guide for the challenging exams.

Mrs. H is one of the better teachers at TCC. Her class is challenging, but she wants to make sure you understand the concepts, rather than just being able to regurgitate the information. She is very clear and concise and she will answer all of your questions. If you attend all of the classes and make an effort, you will do well.

I am so sad that this semester is over and I won't be coming to her class twice a week. She is one of the best teachers at TCC. She totally loves sociology and will make you love it, too. She gives out a lot of information, but she organizes it in a way that makes it so clear. She uses examples that make everything easy to understand. Take her!

I have A's in all of my classes and this is my 1st semester. Everyone is correct about her teaching abilities. The best teacher I have ever had and will probably ever have. Her class is an extreme challenge. Mrs. H says that she encourages and respects your opinions. I would advise not to say anything in her class because this is not true.

WONDERFUL! I loved her! She is a wonderful professor! This class is very hard, but if you are there everyday, you will pass the class. She doesn't go by the book, everything...and i mean everything..comes from her lectures! I would take her class again if she taught anything else. I received a high B overall.

She's very helpful and extremely motivating. She tells you when you're doing well and she definitely prepares you to do well in university. It's hard work, but it's a grade well-earned. Take her class if you're not too busy during the semester. She's wonderful! :)

One of my favorite teachers ever! She puts everything into perspective so it is easy to understand. Always emails back if you have questions and gives you more information than you asked for. It is alot of work, but an easy grade if you put in the time and effort.

Professor Hockenberger is amazing! This is the class I will go to, even if i decide to skip the class before. Take her! You must come to class, and take notes, but she makes it very interesting!

She is Amazing!You have to go to class, her test are right out of the notes she tells you word for word what to write. Little book work she will tell you what pages out of book you need to read I did not need to buy a book I just went to the library and read the pages she specified. 90% of my class did not need to take final all had A's.

loves sociology, make sure to attend class everyday and take notes, about 90% of the test come from your notes and 10% over individual book reading which she gives you specific pages and paragraphs to focus on. there is a lot to study for the test but as long as you pay attention in class you will do fine.

Hockenberger is a very passionate person when it comes to teaching about sociology. She knows her stuff and she will go a great extent in order for you to understand her. Uses no book, ppts, nor notes she spits out the material & she makes sure to give you what is needed for the exam. Attendance not required but she doesnt post notes, great prof!

she loves her job! does bot hesitate to explain things repeatedly till you understand them. Class attendance is a must ! tells you what to write down for notes. Only thing hard about this class is the tests, YOU MUST STUDY YOUR NOTES. I really enjoyed this class but if your looking for a class to layback and daydream this is not the class to do it

You can tell she really loves what she does. She is a very committed instructor who is passionate about what she teaches. I loved this class! It was very interesting and I didn't think it was that difficult, just pay attention and take good notes. You get what you earn.

I love her!! She gives lectures with complete clarity, and will take the time to go over it if it doesn't click. She's really funny and is actually passionate about what she teaches. You will work for the grade, but if you pay attention, there's no reason you can't pass.

I took the course in the spring of 2015. AMAZING Prof. She gives powerpoints, take additional notes! She does give essay questions so PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS TO HER HINTS! Gives reviews. You work for your grade but it's not hard to get an A if you apply yourself! Attendance is a must. Don't be afraid to ask questions, she will answer them all.

She was great very passionate about the subject. Tests are a little tough but all the answers are on the study guide and she tells you what pages you need to read in the text book. AMAZING TEACHER!!

Ms. Hockenberger is a brilliant and very respectable professor. She provides a well thought out experience in Sociology that is easy to grasp and fun to learn about. Her use of personal stories and class activities help keep the lectures interesting and engaging. She encourages class attendance for it is what the main bulk of the exams come from.

She knows the material exceptionally well and has a passion for the subject. Even those not intrinsically motivated should find enjoyment in her lectures. She does everything she can to help struggling students. Professor Hockenberger is the baseline all other community college professors should be measured against. Highly recommended.

Lots and lots of notes. Professor Hockenberger is a wonderful woman. I loved her but there are a lot of notes. She takes pride in teaching us and she takes her job very serious. She feels she has done a disservice to us the student if we don't learn. She is funny and tells stories. I am going to miss her

She does take home quizzes that are due the day of her exams that really help with the exam. you do need the book because there is material that she does not cover in class. semester was cut short so she had to adjust some things but she did it in our favor. she grew on me.

Her lectures were amazing. Sure, she is a little boring at first, but once you engage with what she's saying, it's wonderful. She presents the information in a clear way and often adds little fun anecdotes to help you associate and better remember the material. Test heavy, but has unit (take home, open notebook) homework.

Professor Hockenberger is very knowledgeable and brilliant in the field of sociology. One should only choose her course in person or online if they have the time, energy, interest and motivation to learn the introduction of sociology in a comprehensive matter or if they are pursuing the field as a career or major of choice. Highly recommended!
