Very good teacher, helpful

This class was so easy that I only showed up on days that something was due and still managed to ace every test. Must read book, gives notes online.

Go to class, take notes, you wont have to read the book, her assignments are easy. I really enjoyed her class and never dreaded going. She's very nice and a great teacher. Easy A for sure.

I had this class and it was not only a ton of fun, but the prof is awesome!!!! Anybody that left negative feedback on here is obviously stupid and just jealous because she didn't give them a good grade. GET A LIFE PEOPLE

Dont hate on Mac G. because you didnt follow the directions. she is the hottest prof in the AMD program. She is so smart in the apparel field and stays up to date on industry news. Best teacher in the department by far.

I don't know what you all are talking about. Ms McG is great! She is so nice and the classes are easy! I already took 2 classes w/ her and got As! the tests aren't very hard as long as you study. she takes it right off the study guides too!

I think she's a GREAT teacher. Her class is structured, her notes are clear, and she tells you exactly what is expected of you. She's always on top of her game. Take the class if you like organization and you're willing to work for your grade. I'm a HUGE fan, I'd take her again.

Awesome professor! She is always willing to help you when you need help. Her exams are easy as long as you study. Papers are very easy...the lowest grade I've have got from her on a paper is a 95%! make sure to take her

Wow- you must not have paid attention. This is college, people, and you are going into a competitive profession. If your performance and commitment to detail sucks, CHANGE MAJORS. If you think it is hard to explain to your parents that you failed, try telling that to an employer.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. She's been the best teacher I've had here! She's very willing to help others and is always cheerful. her lectures can be boring but what she says is importatnt to design. She's awesome! Take Her!!!

Awesome Prof.!!!!!!! Her exams are very easy if you follow the sudy guide she gives and scan through the notes. All multiple choice examzz, which r really easy. If you want an "A" take any of her class.

Maureen is a rotten teacher, she mumbles incoherently during class and is dangerously hostile and rude if you make the mistake of stopping by her office. Makes unprofessional faces in class. Her teaching is very behind the times and she does not seem very bright. She is the reason I transferred to State!!!

Dr. MacGillivray is a caring and excellent professor. Highly recommended!

Maureen is one of the best teacher IO have ever met but it would be nicer and she would have made me enjoy her class better if only she is well organized. Pls maureen try to arrang your web notes in good order only the "INNOVATION AND DIFFUSSION seems to be well organized.

Are we talking about the same person here? Dr. MacG is fantastic - she is energetic and interesting and has a genuine interest in students. Her Dress and Culture class is the most interesting UP course I have taken. What is the deal with the comments?

This is one of the best professors at CMU. Always interested in students and willing to make things clear.

I have no problem with this teacher! This is the second class I've had with her and I've never seen her as anything besides enthusiastic and super nice. Her project directions are a bit ambiguous; so make sure you ask questions. I admit some of the material in this class is boring. I think it should be taught in the first Apparel Merchand. class.

This was a really good class. The group projects weren't so bad... if you had good members! I'm looking forward to another course with Dr.M next Fall!

I have mixed feelings about her. She definitley acts like she's something, but when you talk to her, she's nice. Although I had a situation where she did not stick to her word at the end of the semester and I got a lower grade than what I should have. She's not very understanding!

Omg, I miss this professor. She was full of energy and enthusiasm; extremely knowledgeable about industry; integrated real world design methods into her courses; integral to creation of Threads, growth of FAMD; I'm out now...and boy do I appreciate what I learned from her. Just wait you guys!

I had her for 252 & 141, and she doesn't put up with anyone's crap, but her teaching is clear. IF you go to class, you'll be fine. For your projects, check in with her often to make sure what you're turning in is up to her standards. GOOD Prof, though :)

I have absolutly no interest in Dress and Culture so the class naturally- sucked. But she's a good teacher, helpful with students with disabilities, notes are online, gives you a break if you miss an exam and pretty friendly. If you like this kind of thing, take it, it won't kill ya.

Love this teacher! I wish she taught all the HEV classes. This class isn't extremely har but it's easy to fall behind and you must turn in all your work to receive a passing grade. Extremely stylish and classy professor!

She is extremely passionate about her field. She is extremely enthusiastic about coming to class everyday and presenting her material to you. She wants you to succeed. The class is very interesting - not just for AMD majors.

interesting class, but big group project... we had a ton of fun with ours though! all the notes are on Bb so that's easy and she gives you study guides, but i still didn't do great on the exams

Great Prof; first online course I have ever actually learned anything in; all her lectures were narrated; course notes; video reminders; weekly discussion forums; didn't like the quizzes; got a B

For a UP course, this class was good. Prof stuck to the outline, was organized, provided coures notes, interesting lectures - especially on Postmodernism and fashion. Really liked the class.

I liked her and her quirky sense of humor and how she put everything out there for students to either take advantage or ignore. Would be better if class was smaller.

This class was very intersting, she was engaging and made you get involved. There was a group project that went on for three weeks, that I hated, but other than that its a good class. She is fair, and presents the material in a clear and concise manner.

I loved this class. It was interesting and she used a lot of pictures in her powerpoint, so it made lecture a lot less boring. However, her exams are impossible to study for. She said if we did the assignments we would do good on the exam. She lied. It's hard. It's all matching, but it's matching info, not definitions. Fun class, but GPA killer.

Great class; got to put on a major fashion production and learn all elements of its design. Prof guided the class but let the students take the lead.

Very interesting class. I don't agree with the negative comments. She clearly knows her stuff and has high expectations for the students in her class. I actually studied so I did not have a problem with the exams.

I would highly recommend taking Maureen’s class! There are two time consuming projects but otherwise the class is very educational.

Loved this class! She kept things fun and entertaining. Don't wait until the last minute to start your projects and you should receive an A. She will also look at projects before you turn them in and tell you if your on the right track. Attend class and get extra credit to boost your grade.

Dr. MacGillivray knows her stuff. She is very helpful to new students. She is fun, too.

Really not to hard of a class, if you screen shot the power points and then look at them while taking the quizzes you'll be fine. The final project wasn't to bad, a little tedious though. Overall not to bad and worth taking online for the U.P.

If you want to go into design - take this class. If you want real world advice, take this class. If you are just looking to graduate without being serious, think again. You won't make it unless you are totally committed to this course!

Make sure you are serious about fashion before taking this class. The only exams are weekly quizzes online with one final exam at the end of the semester which are all pretty easy and you can take twice. I would recommend this professor because she was in the fashion industry and knows what she is talking about.

I loved her class. She gives weekly quizzes, but they are all online and correspond with her powerpoints in class which she also posts online. A few projects along the way as well and lots of in-class group work. Very fun class overall.

Her quizzes weren't too bad, they were straight forward if you payed attention to her lectures. Her lectures are pretty long but they are also helpful. Her lab is super easy and can be really fun some days.

I LOVE, love, love Dr. MacGillivray. Other kids in my class aren't as fond and I can't see why. The labs are fun and help set in the info from the lecture, and the quizzes are online and give you enough time to use materials. She will help you figure out classes and will help if you have problems with other teachers. I highly recommend!

She was a very good professor. She gave you lots of information about the major and you can feel her passion for fashion.

Taking this online was a breeze. Obviously, there was lots of reading, but she was straight forward with everything that she was expecting. I took this as an 8 week course and it was worth it, while trying to get that last writing intensive requirement out of the way!

Macgillivray is great. Her lectures are dry, but the class is pretty easy. You just have to do the work with effort and youll pass!
