very helpful when needed. go theextra mile to study and you will succeed. She gives you ALL THE NOTES for the test!!
She is a very easy going knowledgable teacher. She makes history intresting and enjoyable. I would recommend her to prospective students.
I absolutely LOVED Dr. McCormick. If you show up and pay attention you will do well. She is always willing to help and makes class very interesting.

I really loved this class! She was very enthusiastic and made the class interesting. She is extremely smart, and will help you in every possible way. She even gives the exam questions as a study guide prior to the exam. I would certainly reccommend her to other students.
This teacher was ok...she taught from powerpoint for about 2 hours...if your papers are late she would take 50 oints off and she includes weekends...she was boring and not interesting at all...if you love histroy then take this class....I would not reccomend her to any body.
This professor is brilliant and absolutely knows her subject, and she wants you to know it too. Her tests are complete essays, which require an enormous effort if you want to excel. Wouldn't recommend accelerated course. A lot of information to take in. Her lectures are top notch and extremely interesting. Work hard and you will be rewarded.
Very focused teacher, well organized and covers lots of material. All tests are essay, and require a lot of study to do well. You will work for your grade in this class; but it is obtainable.
Nice Lady but very demanding. You don't want to miss a class or you will miss a world of information. The work load is horrible. If you have a busy schedule this class may not be for you.
She knows her material inside and out but you can't enjoy learning it because you will be overwhelmed with the work she gives. She is the pickiest prof I have ever had. She takes up your draft paper, picks it apart and then you'd pretty much have to do it all over again. She yells at the class and is not afraid to embarass indiduals. DON'T TAKE HER
She is very nive lady. She doesnt like her class being interupted but who would. I have been out of school for 10 years and got an A. She really cares about her students. Just do the work and you will be fine. If you treat her like and enemy then expect the same. Show up and do the work easy A. I learned alot. I hope =-]
She teaches as if she is teaching high school, constantly telling people to be quiet. She's got a high anxiety level which makes it hard to learn from her. Work load is ridiculous. Only take her if you're not taking anything else. She takes you to a trip to the school library and watches over your shoulder while you research. It's quite annoying.
Very high maintenance, demanding, moody teacher. Looks over your shoulder - you can actually feel HER anxiety level!! Work load is ridiculous! Save yourself the aggravation and take a normal teacher.
doesnt like being disruptive. if you want a class where there isnt a lot of work then this isnt the class for you. grades tests easily but the preperation for it is rediculous.
I like the class, lot of work, but I think she likes to help and answer questions. It takes a lot of work to earn an A, but it is quite possible. She really knows the subject matter, and makes it fun and interesting
She really is high maintenance and moody!Very nitpicky and anxious.
WOW!! RUN clear of this one - kind of a nutcase. Very anxious and a little paranoid. Nit picky and looks over your shoulder too much. goes into freak mode if she feels that she has been interupted.
Taking her class was like watching a stroke in slow motion!(long and Painful) Work load is overbearing, Essay tests are impossible to pass, anxiety level way to high, lectures from powerpoint every class, never had to drop class until this one,run for your life seriously, don't waste your money, time, or your soul.
Awesome teacher. She's Tough, but she does teach. And that is important to some of us. She actually wants you to learn!
I really liked her! yes she would kinda freak out if people were talking while she was but this is college so its understandable. But she gives you everything you need to know for the tests. they are only hard if you don't study, but I loved her she is awesome! TAKE THIS CLASS!
I took her several years ago for both AMH 2010, and 2020 courses - fantastic mind and appearance. Superlative professor at FCCJ.
during the class is boring. im not one for history though. but when it comes to test she gives you everything you need to know, word for word, so just study and you got it. homework you get multiple attempts and its online. very simple to pass just remember to do it by 5 o'clock.
Took her AMH2010. Online homework was cake, but her "tests" were a little ridiculous to me... she would hand you a "study guide" 1 week b/f test... 18 terms with at least a paragraph each, and 3 essay Q's...seems like a lot to learn in 1 week. by the time you finish the extensive study guide, the test is next day! Forces you to "CRAM" for it.....
Her class is extra interesting and funny. It does require work, but it is college level material - it is what you suppose to do anyway. Dr. McCormick is extremly intelligible, funny, and passinate about her class
"Dr. McCormick's" class is awfuly boring. All she does is talk for an hour & a half. Her tests are essay questions and identifying terms only, & she gives you too much extra information to study for thats never on the test. She forces you to cram for tests, which are usually irrelevant to the 3 pages of notes we take everyday. I hate this class.
I did not know alot of the things she teaches before hand. I love discovery and history channel but she has a ton of information I never saw on TV. Biggest complaint is how boring the book was. Compliment is how she helped me on her own personal time. i have special needs and she was able to help me with them. Great teacher and person.
This is probably my favorite history class I've ever taken. She's funny and witty. The class is fun and her workload is reasonably ok. However her essay test are alittle overwhelming. DO ALL ASSIGNMENTS!!! I missed one and got a C+ in the class and my tests were usually B's.
She is an awesome teacher. She answers all questions and she goes over in class what the tests are. She is very helpful. She knows her history.
Dr. McCormick is probably the best teacher I've had since being in college. She is extremely clear and makes her lectures very interesting. I definitely recommend taking her History of Florida class when she teaches it.
Overall, she is a decent teacher. However it feels like she talks down to you and she is very blunt and rude like a high school teacher. She has homework every week and it is a lot of reading but if you read you will do well. The tests are all essays and are hard.
Worst teacher I have ever had! The tests were impossible to pass. All you do is go into class and listen to her talk for hours. It is painfully boring. You take 4+ pages of notes a class and maybe 1/2 a page of that is important and on the tests. I wouldn't reccomend this class to ANYONE!
This teacher is so boring. Her exams are impossible to pass. I did not understand any of her lecture. notes did not help with any of her exams. i would not recommend this professor to anyone.
You have to take notes, read the chapter and participate in class. You will do well in her class.
this teacher is so boring; you come to class and then hear her talk for an hour and half. her tests are hard. but i wrote whatever and i got a good grade; what else is your going to have a field trip for extra credit. i think it was fun! even though i dont go to her class alot i am still passing with a B!
Dr McCormick is one of the best professors I've had at FSCJ. Her tests are a little difficult, but it's only because she wants her students to learn and be prepared for higher education. She is pretty straight forward, but in a good way. She always has time for here students. And is always willing to help them out.
This professor is very boring and not helpful to her students. She lectures for hours and you don't benefit nothing from it. Also you never do nothing in the class except for exams.
Class mainly consists of her lecturing and you pretty much copying everything. Only 10% of this material is used on the exams. Lots of other assignments including essays, worksheets and online assignments. Exams are essay style and pretty difficult if you didn't study. She was pretty nice and will help you any way she can.
Dr. McCormick was amazing. she had a passion for history and she knew how do get her class interested. Yes, she required you to do work but it was extremely easy for the most part. 3 essay exams, all which you know exactly what you prompt will be before you take it. a few worksheets that take about 10 minutes. easy peasy! definitely recommend
Anyone who says that Dr M is not helpful did not try at all. She will bend over backwords to help her students in anyway she can. She does expect her students to make an effort though. There are never any surprises with her. She gives you study guides for the tests, and will even help you study for them. All you have to do is actually try...
One of my favorite Professors! Very helpful and understanding. She truly does everything she can to help her students. Her lectures are entertaining and she expects you to read the textbook. Exams are essays, but she preps you well for them. Not one of those easy A classes, but you learn a lot a become a better student!
As an over-acheiver, I had every hope of coming out of this class with an A. Unfortunately this is impossible for this class. The professor's work is scattered all over her website which makes you miss alot of work without even realizing it. Upon asking her for help or clarification on something, she talks to you like you're stupid. Don't take her.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I'll admit she has a passion for teaching history, but is the most stubborn teacher I've ever seen. If she asks the class a question, and nobody answers she'll FORCE an answer out. We were supposed to write an essay and someone asked for guidelines for writing it, and she said "it's up to you". What kind of rubric is that???
Dr. McCormick knows a lot about her subject and is very interested in Florida History, even though she is not a native from the area. I learned a lot about Florida taking her class. There is a lot of work and to pass her tests you must study a lot. It is possible to get an A. I recommend her only to students that are not lazy.
If you aren't a writer I don't recommend taking her for any history class. She's an interesting teacher but is very stubborn. Her tests are essay tests and you WILL have a novel to read for her at some point. She grades very strictly too. I won't be taking her again.
Ms. McCormick is one of the sweetest professors ever. I really do not get where some of these comments are coming from! She is so sweet and she is helpful. Yes the tests are essay but I do not get why they are complaining. It gives you the chance to show the professor what YOU know.Anyone who does not do well in her class is just pure lazy.take her!
I have her class at night time. It is really tough. Majority of the time, she will lecture and used the powerpoint. She graded her tests and essays/research strictly. She attempt to make her class interesting but it's same routine every time. She is kind of brief about what she want for the essay/research papers.
I LOVE HER TEACHING STYLE AND HOW HELPFUL SHE IS. THIS WAS A VERY INTERESTING COURSE, ESPECIALLY FOR A NON-NATIVE. EVERYTHING CAME FROM THE TEXT AND WAS PRETTY EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I THINK THAT SHE IS AND EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE
I was so sad when Dr. McCormick's class ended. I never wanted to miss class because it would mean missing out on a piece of the "story." I would have been disappointed in myself, if I hadn't have gotten an "A" just because I loved the class so much. Dr. McCormick is everything a teacher should be.
Professor McCormick is a great teacher! She's an amazing teacher & really nice. She has online quizzes that she allows you to get take more than once. She uses power points to take notes. She is exciting & fun & her class is never boring! I would definitely take her class again!
Depends on which is used Canvas or Blackboard, but all tests are essay, for me that was not easy. She is a great teacher and is well deserving of the "Dr." title. I was very interested in her class and the way she lectures. Great Teacher!!!
I liked her teaching style. I wish she put her notes on Blackboard so I could pay attention to what she was saying rather than writing down the info on the PP. Her tests are essay test which I dont like but i did well on! Give homework every week but its really easy!
Prof McCormick gives a detailed and extremely helpful study guide 1 week prior to all tests. HW is super easy. Research paper is assigned well in advance and she allows you to visit her during office hours for extra help. She keeps class interesting and engaged. I am passing with an A, and study less than 4 hrs per test. I will be taking her again!
Dr. McCormick was a great professor! Her classes were full of information that she made interesting to learn. The tests are in essay form, but if you study you will do well on the test.
She is awesome! I hate history and it is my worst subject but she tells is like a story and makes it so interesting. She is so willing to help and explain if you ask. I definitely recommend her!
Loved her, very clear and to the point. made lectures fun and enjoyable, homework was easy (i was able to do it within 30min before class, but it's not advisable) and there is a decent amount so it can help your grade. test's seem hard but she is not a harsh grader and gives you helpful tips and study guides and techniques.
Great class. I learned a lot. Pretty cute, in a northern no-nonsense kind of way. She was very helpful, and I enjoyed going to her office and listening to her talk. Essays were tough, but she grades fair.
Very interesting class, I love history. Not terribly hard so long as you put in the work (like I should've). Overall she's very nice, helpful, and goes above and beyond to work with you. Great professor I would take her class again.
Professor McCormick is a wonderful teacher. Lectures are fun and interesting but you must pay attention, tests are based on them. She is always willing to help and is very encouraging. I would definitely take her again!
great professor would love to take again but only problem is no make ups for homework if its not there its no good
I took McCormick for both installments of U.S. History. Though most of the class sessions consist of lectures, she is very lively, engaging, and entertaining, which made the information interesting and easy to understand. I've taken history courses since middle school and can honestly say that Ms. McCormick is the reason why I now enjoy history.
She was a very cool teacher. She likes to really explain everything thoroughly. 3 essays and 3 exams. her lectures are so good you wont have to study that hard. Just take good notes and you will like this teacher
Class was very interesting, Professor went out of her way to explain in detail the content and what was expected on exams. If you're a good writer you'll enjoy the exams, If writing is not your strong suit it will be more difficult but very doable Great Professor!
Dr. Mccormick was a great professor! She truly cares about her students and has very informative and interesting lectures-- to have an A all you have to do is come to class, take notes, do homework, and study. The tests are essay tests based solely on memory and she assigns 3 essays. She gives you everything you need for essays and tests-just study
Dr. McCormick is passionate about her subject and it really shows. I usually detest history but she gets really into the lectures, moving around the room and tells it like a story. Take notes and stay awake, and don't skip class. She genuinely wants you to succeed and I would take her again in a heart beat if I could. She's funny too!
Outstanding professor! She makes history fun. As we all know american history can get a little controversial, but she explains what people in the past were thinking and why they made the decisions they did. There are two exams that are essay questions, but as long as you take good notes and pay attention in class you will be perfectly fine.
I think she is a nice person, but as a teacher, she is very COLD!! She passes out so much homework, til she realized in my class that it wasn't getting turned in, then she changed things, created a make-up time, & then half the class left, your pts will NOT B final grade given, she lowers grade so, don't expect much from her! NOT taking her again!!
Brilliant woman & very effective teaching method. You have to read, show up, and TAKE GOOD NOTES, but you can get an A. 2 Essays, 3 Essay Exams, and usually a simple homework. She'll meet with you go over anything you are unsure of. If you put in the effort for this class she will give it right back. Would highly recommend. I learned A LOT!
She is a very good teacher. Her lectures are interesting. She gives good grades. She is very passionate about her subject.
This professor is awesome. She is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. She does expect you as the student to do your work. Her lectures are great. She does various different field trips that are worth your time. If you want to learn your subject and not just get a grade, she is the professor you want. I would choose her again.
Dr. McCormick's History of Florida class was by far one of my favorite classes ever. While she grades fairly strictly, the grading criteria is very clear and she offers multiple opportunities for extra credit. She is helpful and accessible when you have questions. Her lectures are long, but are also easy to follow, fun, and informative.
dr. McCormick is by the best person to take a history course with. She's available outside of class a lot, and she is a very understanding lady. Her exams are almost impossible to fail, homework is super easy 15-20 multiple choice questions and you have roughly 7 days to complete them. Really cares about teaching and keeps it entertaining.
By far one of the best. Every week we had 20ish multiple choice questions and they would be due the following week when we got the new homework. She gives study guides and out of the 3 essay style questions 2 of them will be on the test (word for word from the study guide) and then you choose which one you would like to write about. VERY passible
I LOVE HER!!!! I am taking her again this semester! literally the best lecturer ever and she is super concerned about her students. She assigns a lot of papers but she is still soo mush fun.
Mrs. McCormick is a great teacher; she gives you the tools to succeed. This is not an easy A if you don't participate, lots of papers, 3 tests, and quizzes. If you follow the study guide and participate you should do fine.
Professor McCormick is great, enthusiastic and flexible if need too. Her lectures are peculiar, fluent and engaging. She tells the story in her own order and focuses a lot on the facts. Have to read every week but is not too heavy. If you do all your work, you can easily get an A. Be prepared to write on the test. I learned a lot in the course.
Dr. McCormick is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took her for for AMH2020 as well as AMH2070. I got an A in both classes. Homework is a fair amount and shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to complete. She gives 3 essays and is an easy grader, just do the work. She give written exams, but is very gracious. Take her!! She's the best.
Dr. McCormick is the best! She gives homework every class almost but gives you a week to do it and the answers are in articles she gives you. She cares about her students and is very accessible whether it's her office hours or by email. If you just do what you are suppose to it is not hard to get an A. As long as you try she will help you.
I love her teaching style! she's very passionate about history and is full of information. Has simple rules. come to class and take notes and you will pass.
honestly this lady is so liberal. Very into feminism and tends to get sidetracked on personal opinions.
I learned a lot in Dr. McCormick's class. She's tough but fair. Although her tests are difficult, they pull together the info learned into a timeline about history you can't forget. Do the homework, write the short essays, and study hard for the tests to do well. If you have the time, write about the terms at the end of each chapter to help tests.
Professor McCormick is an awesome teacher, she engages the class and is an amazing lecturer, she is fair with your work and does take things into account. She is one of the best professors that I have had in this school and she is amazing. She is a tough grader and her exams are harder than some, but she does give you a study guide before the exams
I have taken two of Professor McCormick's courses. I will be taking a third with her next semester. She is very clear with her expectations and very organized. If you pay attention to the syllabus, her lectures (which are fascinating), and her directions/suggestions you are sure to make a good grade. She is kind, professional, and knowledgeable.
Professor McCormick is an awesome professor! She's very clear on the schedule and due dates on the first day. Her tests are all short response/ essays, but she gives you a study guide with any potential question. There is a homework assignment just about every class. She is very understanding. I would definitely take her again!
Attendance is not mandatory, but the class is lecture based, the professor is very knowledgeable, she posts her power points online, but they don't contain much content, most content comes from lectures. The study guides give you all of the information on which you will be tested, she is a very reasonable grader, if you show up you will pass.
Do not take this course online. 3 to 4 chapters a week with chapter quiz's, a weekly test and discussion board.
I love Prof McCormick, she is very forward about what she expects from you, and about what you should expect from her. Her lectures are amazing!!! I am not typically interested in history, but her style of lecturing definitely caught my attention. I will be taking her again next semester.
This was a fast track online course. she jam packed 3 modules per week, plus quizzes, plus analyzing assessments. tests were difficult to study for since all the information is in the difficult to navigate website that she uses. some assignments would be due on Saturdays while others were due Sunday nights, makes it hard to keep up with due dates
Dr. McCormick is a very knowledgeable professor that really knows a lot. Her lectures are helpful and it is highly recommended that you take really good notes from her lectures! She was a fair grader, she doesn't post grades until the very end of the semester. She is willing to help you long as you communicate with her! Her 2 Essays were very easy!
I found Dr. McCormicks class very interesting and easy. She does a lecture every class with a PowerPoint, but the PowerPoint are just an outline. Paying attention to her lectures and taking notes is crucial in her class. Her tests are easy, she gives a study guide with everything that will be on the test. Essays and homeworks are easy too.
Although Dr. McCormick's class was a little harder than some of my others, I really enjoyed her class. Her lectures are amazing and she really helps getting the important info in your head. Weekly homework and exams are essays which require lots of studying. Only dislike is she didn't put grades in blackboard until end of semester.
Reading assignments are long and you must answer questions throughout the assignment. The quizzes do not cover the parts that you are asked to study- hack. I copied all the reading and pasted into Microsoft word then used the search option for key words. The quizzes are timed also. This is a class to take when you have nothing else going on.
SO. MUCH. HOMEWORK. All tests are essays....
Love her lectures!! It is clear she loves what she does and is excited about it. I hated missing classes because the lectures were so good. Attendance is not mandatory but you are missing out if you skip. Grading is fair and she is very clear with what she is looking for. Everything is essay based so if you don't like writing take another class. I
I really liked and respected DR McCormick. Her syllabus is very clear and so are her expectations. The writing was a little intimidating at first but she spoke with me on the phone and posted audio instructions to further help the class. Participation in the discussions will earn you a fair and generous grade.
Professor McCormick is energetic from first thing in the morning. She cares a lot about being in class on time and active discussions. She offered me several extra credit chances to visit historical sites, with plenty of information, and her grading for homework was gracious. Late work was not accepted and discussion involved group-pairing.
1. PowerPoints are outlines, pay attention. 2. Expect three 5 page essays for each module. 3. Exams are not multiple choice, entirely written. McCormick is energetic and truly is passionate towards her subjects, she wants you to use your full potential. Please dont be intimidated by the workload, its so worth it. Even provides study guides!
Professor McCormick is a great instructor. As long as you pay attention to her presentations and take enough notes, you'll fly on by. The homework and essays she assigns are simple and straightforward. I had a 78 near the end of the semester and she even got rid of a few of my lower graded assignments just to give me the points i needed for a B.
Professor McCormick was my first history professor. Did a good job. I learned a lot. Make sure to set aside enough time to read weekly. There were a few short films at times. Overall a fair professor and gives clear expectations and instructions.
Ok this lady is probably one of the worst/ hardest teachers I have ever had. Her Exams? good luck trying to pass one you cant even cheat. Some of the questions will be about one word she said in one of 5 lectures for that test. Her classes are long, boring and she don't even talk about the topic she goes on about random stuff about her life.
Fair teacher. Interesting topics/assignments. Makes you think. It's a "MUST" to read and watch videos provided or you will not do well on quizzes. It's a history course; if you want an A, you will have to work for it.
This class was a 7 week course. SO much reading every week. It is a MUST to read the material and watch the videos for the quizzes. As long as you read and do all the assignments, it is an easy (but time consuming) A.
The topics she chooses are interesting at times, there is a LOT of reading and quite a few videos (hour long). the class however was very unorganized due dates were wrong, and assignments wee put in the wrong modules. She gave us a final essay with NO rubric, yet once it was graded, she gave feedback on what was missing and so on. Time consuming!
The course was interesting and Professor McCormick had clear grading criteria. Emails were frequently sent to students.
I graduated with an AA degree not that long ago all of the classes were easy with the exception of this one the thing about FSCJ is there are so many damn easy professors with easy courseworks don't take this pointlessly difficult professor instead find an easier professor for this class The prof is a kind person, but the class is hard
IF YOU DONT HAVE A LIFE OR DONT WANT A LIFE, TAKE THE CLASS. Your constantly bogged down with assignments that are added at any moment any day. YOUVE BEEN WARNED
Most FSCJ classes for AA degree (atleast in my exp.) are very easy, this was the only difficult one. I think you should just take an easier teacher for this course, as there are professors who make their courseworks insanely easy. As for the kids annoyed by homework, haha once you get to real university, you'll be thankful for how easy FSCJ was.
This class wasn't a lot of work, it was A LOT of reading. Each week you get 5-8 pages to read or watch videos with a Module Quiz (5-15 questions), a discussion, and an extra reading document with a shorter quiz. I advise you to start reading at the beginning of the week. Also, she types her own module lectures and writes her own quiz questions.
Damn, this class wasn't easy but it wasn't that hard either. The people calling the class hard have clearly never taken a difficult class in their lives. They're all probably art majors. I dare you to take Computer science major, you'd be crying at even the most basic classes (and even the basic classes in CS are more difficult than this class)
Tests & quizzes are written by her but refuses to record lectures her powerpoints barely give enough information to pass. Spends most of class time whining no one has their mic or cam on so you don't learn what you need. Made weird remarks on the 1920s - 1980s unit about particular groups. Spontaneous hw posting as well.
Absolutely one of the worst professors Ive ever had. Her class is such a sleeper and it is so hard to pay attention. I spent the whole day before a test studying and guess what I got, a 64%!!! Her tests have two essay prompts every time and most of the multiple choice questions are stuff youve heard only once or never. Avoid at all costs.
Great lectures, fairly easy assignments, though homework for the class could vary based on the online media assigned (sometimes podcast episodes, sometimes youtube videos ect). Reading is required and the tests are easy; she gives you the essay questions BEFORE the exam! It's the same questions! There's no reason you should fail the tests or class
I have taken many college classes and this one did not compare. Very difficult and a tough grader. It took the professor weeks to grade something I turned in the first week of class and the directions she gives are very confusing. This class was definitely something I did not expect...
Lots of reading . Lots of quizzes. Not easy but doable.
I took a seven-week Florida history online course. This class is not challenging but requires effort and time management. There are at least two modules each week, including two quizzes due on Fri, Perusall assignments due on Sat, and possibly an essay-style paper or project due Sun. One final essay. If you follow the syllabus all will be well.
I am only in the first week and am sad I did not drop this professor when I could she is so difficult and makes no sense . Take anyone but her
She doesn't know how to write proper english apparantly. When you're trying to read her instructions, you can't get through them wihtout stotpping about 30 times to try and break down what she wants you to do. She also doesn't respond to any messgaes you send her really, only one way that I've found to send her messages is canvas.
I enjoyed this class it was informative and interesting. She uses a website for most homework where she assigned a short article once a week and you have to make comments on them. About every other week there is a different assignment like a short powerpoint or timeline activity. There are 3 testes which are mostly lectured based. No essays.
Can't believe I paid for this. "Textbook" is webpages written by prof based on her perspective of history. Spelling/grammar mistakes abundant. Whole paragraphs missing. Entire class is 7 weeks of excessive busy work capped off with an opinion essay each week on topics based around the teachers clearly bias agenda. Do all the busy work you get an A.
Dr. McCormick is a wonderfully engaging teacher. I have never cared about American history, but I'm learning so much from her class because her lectures are fun and informative. As long as you complete the assignments, it's really hard to fail this class. The exams are all open note and she's not a tough grader.
I have never given a bad grade to a professor before. She is indeed passionate about history, and she is "nice". However, this class was awful. A lot of homework (some were not even relevant). She is a tough grader. She does her own questions on the Exams and Quizzes. I needed less than 1% to get an A, she didn't round it. Don't take this class.
If you take her class online, be prepared to take a lot essays, quizzes, and reading. In total of one week, she gave us 7-8 assignments and it doesn't stop. Quit any plans you may have because her class will take up your time.
You can tell she knows her stuff; she's just mean (for lack of the better word that I'm unable to use per the guidelines).
Knew what she was talking about and knew how to make others understand.
This class is a lot of work, but with good time management and effort, it's doable. The weekly assignments and quizzes can be challenging, but using tools like Unstuck ai alongside the professor's materials helped me stay on top of things and earn a solid grade.
The only thing I would say, is I would not recommend this class to someone who is also taking other courses at the same time, and or has a full time job such as myself. Because the professor did give ALOT of work. History is already a lot of information on it's own. I also never got to know what I got on my final assignment, only my class grade.
She never responded to my email recently, and she didn't want the note taker inside her class it felt like she didn't want me in her class since I have Autism so that's why she gave me an F!
I'm not sure if we're talking about the same professor, but I think she is AWESOME. She teaches with so much passion. One weekly assignment and two essays per semester (for which she even offers to give feedback before you submit for a grade) felt totally ok. You can always talk to her, and she responds to emails within 24 hours.
She was great, I was always engaged in her lectures because of her passion for the material and intellectually stimulating questions. If you appreciate her, she will appreciate you.
Dr. McCormick cares about the course she teaches. There's a lot of info and resources, things to do outside of the course. But her feedback was not helpful. Writing “you don't understand the text very well.” Stating that was “characteristic” of me as a student. This was my first course and I'm still learning. She cares, but not about her students.
Unhelpful/rude feedback, claims she responds to messages/emails but never does (while simultaneously posting tons of announcements), gives broad prompts for essays based on your opinion then tells you your interpretation is wrong, insane amounts of busy work & readings she wrote that are full of spelling errors. Would not recommend
