I took her class a couple of years ago and thought she was GREAT!!! If you pay attention to her lectures you should have no problem passing. I had tried other psych teachers before her and no one else was as into their class as her.

She was the best teacher ever. aAttend all the classes, take notes from each lecture, and get a VERY EASY A. Tests are from her lectures, and the review sheet she gives out is exactly what you need to study for on the exams. Don't bother buying the book.

This teacher lectures well and acts out situations which is entertaining. You do have to study the chapters in the book as well as the notes. But if you study, you'll do well on the test (unless you're bad at studying). Has like 4 tests and journals.

Dr. Ward is very straightforward about what is going to be on tests & gives review sheets. If you study class notes you'll get an A. Psych is not my major, but she got me very interested in the material. Truly cares about her students

Dr. ward is a very good teacher and is very helpful. She only gives one hw assignment mostly every one or two weeks. (everytime she starts a new chapter) Her tests are very easy.

Ward is one of my favorites at De Anza. She helped get me really interested in taking more psych classes. She is not too difficult but is still very good. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

VERY rewarding class. You learn a lot. Extra credit assessible. She doesn't help out much with answering questions but her grading is very fair. I loved this class and lecture/notes were awesome cause shes very neat and writes notes on board ALL the time. Great class. Everything on the test, we went over in class already. Greatest teacher I have had at De Anza. If you pay attention and take down all the notes she gives you and you study for the tests, you will definately get an A. She is a very easy grader and the final presentation and paper for this class was an absolute breeze. Take her for every psych class you need to take!

I love, love, love Dr. Ward! Her lectures are interesting, her study guides for the test are for the most part exactly what is seen on the tests and she is really clear and completely able to work with students who are having difficulties in the class. What a great teacher!!

I had her for Psych 1 and Social Psych....She's so good and so clear...You will learn so much from her...Tests are straight out from the study guides....just make sure you understand the material and the examples.....easy A if you try..

She is an excellent teacher. She transforms the complicated psyc knowledge in the textbook into clear and easy to recognize/remember notes for study and exam. Although the 5 journal entries are a little bit heavy, but it's designed to make you understand your past by applying the psyc knowledge just learned. Strongly reco to take her psyc-1.

Dr. ward is freaking easy if you take notes word for word in her class and study them then the A is your though the journal may be a pain in the butt alittle it's fairly easy. my advice is to do all of the journals because it will come back to haunt you if you dont. I got an A in her class because i study for her tests and did all my journals

One of the best instructors I've ever had. Very clear and thorough, you just sit down and write down everything she puts on the board, and do your journals, she gives out extra credits!! Do your pre-homeworks, those worth 100 points. If you study, it's an easy class, seriously, she's funny too, I love her class. Take her if possible.

Professor Ward is so soft-spoken. She is very kind, very patient, & very understanding. She provides a study guide before each exam. As long as you review what is on the study guide you should be ready. It is a good idea to attend class & take notes because her lectures are practically the exams themselves!

I love ms ward! she's a great teacher! she's not like most professors who show off and have big egos. she lets you know what she wants from you and she'll always help you out. the only people i think would fail her class, are people who cant speak or understand english very well.

I said it once, Ill say it again, I LOVE DR. WARD! I have taken every single class she has taught over this past year and a half and I can honestly say that she is my favorite teacher I've ever had. She makes a lecture class bearable and she really gives a good grasp of concepts learned in class by sharing personal stories. TAKE HER. period.

Great teach! all her exam questions come from lecture note, very straight forward. yes, she has short answer question in her test, but it's easy and short, it's not essay!! don't listen to the person said her exam is hard, if you don't study at all, of course it is hard!

Good at providing examples. Fair on tests. Will sacrifice exact dates on syllabus to make sure pertinent material is covered. Fun, and serous about her subject matter. Pay attention in class, and keep up with the secondary reading material, and you will do well. The text is not heavily used, but you must buy and skim it. I recommend this professor.

She makes psychology seem fun, and I used to hate all science. She`s ok with grading, doesn`t ask perfect clarity or attendance. What more can you ask?

dr ward is cool and easy. exams are usually take home and not too bad. allows you to retake them if u dont like your score. one book review at the end of the qtr.

THE GREATEST TEACHER EVER!! I took her during the afternoon and her voice is really soothing. The information she provides is very interesting and easy to catch on. She is very friendly, and is always there to help. She hands out review sheets so make sure you go through it!

All i can say is easy, but you wont learn a lot through the class. She has a really soft voice that can easily put you into sleep. EXAMS: multiple choices + take home essay(x2) sounds so much work, but is super easy. All genral questions. Must attend class, because all the notes are in the test.

Really nice voice and very helpful. 2 midterms(multichoice and take home essays) that are quite easy if you go to class,stay awake and at least looked at the book. If your work is not what she wants, she'll even let you redo it!

Her voice is so soothing that I wanted to sleep during her class. She is extremely funny and knowledgeable at the same time. Very engaging and does hands on activities,diagrams, videos. she caters to EVERY learning method. i did decent on tests, barely attended the lecture cause work sched. conflicts. she understands though. Dr.Ward is a wonderful teacher! No lie, she teaches from the bottom of heart. Her class is interesting&easy. Her test are basic, she gives out study guides. Hw? is to do a vocabulary sheet(6-8 words)from a chpter in the book. She gives you good examples that will make you remember and completely understand the lesson! Definitely recommend!

She is extremely easy. Just study the notes, do the HW (copy the vocab from the textbook, plus 4 articles from the course packet), and you will get an A. I recommend her for those who want to get an easy A.

She is an amazing lecturer! I don't know why people feel the need not to show up to her class just because attendance isn't required. She's very intelligent, funny, and not boring at all. There aren't too many assignments and the tests are easy if you study everything on her review sheets. Highly recommended!

i actually really like this teacher. she is very nice and funny. maybe sometimes her class is boring but that's only because of the topic. she gave HW pretty easy and the test if ypu learned the notes, you will do great. there are some radiolab its irritating to do it, but it gave you a lot of good informations.

Great professor. Assignments are clear and fairly easy. Lectures are interesting and she is just a very fair professor in general. Study the study guides and you'll ace the tests! I would love to be in her class again.

But she has great examples and her study guides are relevant to the exams. she will also help u as much as she can if she has the time. Her course packet helps a lot in class. Takes lots of notes & u can pass easily.

Her class is really easy. I also took her PSYC 001 class. If you write all of the notes, you will definitely get an A in the tests. She's also very nice to students and helpful. I became interested in psychology because of her. She also seemed passionate about psychology. GREAT TEACHER !!!

Easiest class ever. She gives a lot of notes and goes over them pretty clearly. Go over the study guide she gives you really well and you're guaranteed at least a B. I hardly went to class and got an A in the class. Make friends in the class and ask them for their notes! ;)

She is very nice and passionate about the topic. There are three quizzes and she will give a study guide before the quiz. If you study you will get an A even ESL studs. There are three Radio Lab writing assignments. She is an easy grader and gives interesting examples for each topic she is explaining. . I enjoyed the class very much and got an A.

She is very nice, helpful and clear in teaching. Though there are works to do, its worth doing and you really get a good grade if you work hard. Tests are easy unless you have studied. Take her and you will like studying in psychology.

She is really not that easy. Make sure you make lots of friends, her tests are tremendously hard. Her homeworks and writes are pretty easy. She gets REALLY MAD if you use your phone in class, and will catch you using it. Class is dreadful and really boring, I am now no longer a psychology major and its pretty much because of her.

At first I think she wants to scare a few students away, BUT! SHE IS AMAZING!, I'm about to finish my fall quarter, and even though I don't know my grade yet, she is an excellent teacher, she is the definition of learning. She makes the class fun and interesting! but you do have to attend class and study, it is worth it having her as a teacher.

Her class is great. I think any student who's looking for an awkwardly fun class will love her one! She's pretty cool about discussing topics in Psychology as well. Definitely worth the time to take her class especially if you're looking for a wonderful, fun and worthwhile social science class to take for GEs.

I had PSYC1 with Prof. Ward in 2011. I found the lectures interesting. She is very organized and clear about class expectations. Do the assigned reading before the lecture to reinforce the material . Homework is easy--just taking notes from textbk. Sign up for the Learning Skills class that she offers. Study guides are useful for exams.

She's an extremely quirky and tries to be funny lol Her lectures are two hours long, but she tries to make them interesting. No assignments, only a couple of essay-like papers. They're pretty easy, just follow guidelines and be descriptive. No midterms, just tests after a couple of chapters. Tests aren't bad; pretty simple, but covers alot.

She is very nice and offers lots of extra credit (through homework, attendance, and extra assignments). Tests are quite clear, but the difficult part is just remembering all the terms since there are a lot of them (use the study guide!). Pay close attention to lectures because her notes will help you with studying!

She is extremely passionate about psychology and it shows in her lectures. Long lectures but she goes over each topic thoroughly which makes it easy to understand. Really upbeat and always willing to answer questions. Tests are hard but the study guide helps.

Every class if pretty much just lecture, so you need to go to class in order to pass. The tests were difficult and requires a lot of studying. She would give out study guides which did help but tests were still pretty hard. Tests consist of 50 MC and then a paper that's worth 50 points. She did give out extra credit, which really helped my grade.

Lots of notes. Some group work but nothing too tough. Tests will often have exact same sentences as the notes, so memorizing them is important.

Beautiful human being. Very understanding and gives great advice. Lectures are very well done and she lets everyone catch up. Group projects are very rare except for the beginning of class. She's friendly and lovely and i'll take her again a billion times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
