Great Professor

He is a definition of a finance professor. His classes are designed to teach you how to make money in a practical way. He is definitely one of my favorites. The reason fora negative reviews is because he demands commitment out of students.

Good proffesor. He is very knowledgeable in his field. Just follow his notes and read the chapters he assaigns, you will get an A. If you screw up an exam, he allows for a make up. Gives students a second chance!! Take him!!

Excellent professor. Knows a lot and cares about his students. Explains everything very thoroughly, so if you follow his lectures you'll do just fine.

Very enthusiastic about his subject. Has a different approach to teaching; his lectures are very relaxed and easy to follow. Highly recommend.

If you want to learn how to succeed in the real world, I strongly recommend his course. He is is extremely helpful and insightful, A master of this subject. Earlier in his career, he worked for a company called (Dewey cheetham & howe)a hedge fund

You want to learn, take this class. If you want an A, you have to work for it. Any negative comments are coming from students who dont care. Professor is reliable, clear, and brilliant. You would be missing out if you passed up on this class.

One of the most brilliant professors at Pace, in any department. Take him in conjunction with either Teall or Nam to get an insightful perspective on finance.

Professor Larrain is very knowledgeable in the finance field. I learned a lot from him and highly recommend him to Pace FInance and non-finance majors.

Amazing professor: clear, interesting, & caring. His class is not easy but if you study his notes & text an A is possible. He's teaching style is the best I've ever seen at Pace. He's certainly worth taking especially if you are a FIN major or just simply interested in Fin. Best Fin professor ever.

His jokes are cheesy sometimes but that makes class interesting and you do learn a lot. Take him if you want to laught and learn in class.

I enjoyed his class very much. I took him for 358 and am taking him again for 350. Really knowledgable and super nice. Take him!

Fun prof, although boring at times. He gives you 10 questions (essays) to take home 2 weeks b4 the exams, then gives you 3 off that list on the test. Warning - do not cheat! He monitors the whole room, and if you get caught, bye bye the diploma. Seriously!

Prof. Larrain is great. Test are essays and he gives the exam quest. two weeks b4 the test and you are allowed to write on the question sheet not the back only the front of the page. It really helps. write small definitely an A or B grade.

He is very helpfull but not sure the class is very helpfull in life. Easy grader for sure, TAKE GOOD NOTES IN HIS CLASS. Some stuff is just bizzare but he never asks that stuff on the test. Is an intelligent guy but very NUTTY!!!!

the guy is great! you really need a good memory to get an A, but everything else written there is meaningless. He's an incredible person, and really cares for his students. also you need a special sense of humor to understand his jokes. overall, he's easy.

those who say that he is hard are just lazy. easy tests, requires some reading. lectures are not that easy to follow, but an easy a or a-

awesome teacher, like in a kindergarden:) treates everybody well, has his favorites tho, others he treats with respect. extra credit available.

Do exceptional on the midterm and you will receive an A! make sure you sit in the front as he write a lot! He is a good person, and reliable. Funny jokes.. take him.

Oh please. This guy is the best. Yeah you have to do work. Yeah you have to actually STUDY. But that's what college is all about folks. Take him. BELIEVE me.

Very intelligent professor..midterm and final are 3 out of 4 questions which are directly from class notes..teaches the fundamental and doesn't delve too much into details..easy A..just review class notes.

Classes w Larrain r all easy A's. The only thing w this guy is that he's completely boring n its difficult to stay awake. He gives notes right out of the txt word 4 2word. It pays off going 2 class bc the answers 2 exam comes straight from his notes n he filters out all the bullsh** from the txt. Exam ques r given be4 hand. A lot of memorizing.

Professor Larrain is awesome professor. If you listen to him carefully, you might not even need to read the book. I have taken Professor Larrain for every single Finance course I could. He is an amazing, knowledgeable, experienced man and wants his students to do well. He explains things clearly and he gives you 8 essay questions to prepare, 3 of which he puts on his exams. He is funny too!

Larrain is the BEST LUBIN PROFESSOR. I had him for 3 finance classes in 1 semester and they were all exactly how college finance courses should be. The guy is a genius with tons of real world experience. Keeps the class interesting with humor. No hw. 2 exams with the questions GIVEN on the first day. The class is what you make of it. TAKE LARRAIN!

Awesome professor. Grade based on midterm and final. Questions for each given in advance. Talks about relevant topics and gives interesting lectures. Also a wealth on knowledge during office hours, if you have industry-related questions. Really knows his stuff. Understanding and accomodating. Take him!

Larrain, is good not great. He gets off track often and his grading scale isn't all that clear as he states he grades students against other students, Getting an A isn't that hard, but he really isn't what others say he is, you will learn more from other professors. I've had him for two courses he is just not that great of a professor, he is good.

Larrain, is one of the best professors at Pace, a former high level executive with Bank of America, his real world experience is top notch. You will learn from him, not just text book material but real world material. Exams are essay only, your graded against the class, if you know your material your good. Register early his classes fill up fast!

Great professor, go to his class, talk with him. There is no home work. But there was a group project and presentation which counts for 20/20. And the exams are essays. Not exactly an easy class, but ABSOLUTELY worth it, if you're are interested in derivatives and so on....

Good professor with a ton of knowledge. However, not everyone was born to teach. The plus is that there is no homework or group projects. Also he gives you the midterm and final questions ahead of time, so all you have to do is prepare for them and be ready for any 8 that he might pick!
